I stopped in with a friend for a bite after work. We heard the burgers were good, so that's what we went with. It was a solid burger. seems like a local joint and not somewhere all the tourists will flock toward, which is a good thing for most. It was fairly busy and it's not somewhere you're likely going to get in & out of in 15mins, but if you have some time to hang out on the deck and enjoy a meal like we did, it's a good time. Whether trivia, bingo, or watching a game, Art's is a classic spot. You can never go wrong with their burgers. They are insanely tasty, juicy, and fulfilling for their size and price point. Dare I say, my favorite burger in town besides Little Jacks Tavern. Splurge to enjoy the fried okra sides. The Staff are great! Their service is personal and they remember many regulars making this a water hole go to spot. Inside and the back patio are both good spots to dine. The atmosphere was lively, upbeat, and felt like a place where good times should happen. Bonus points for actually being open when some places mysteriously aren't these days. The sandwich I ordered was solid, and the menu had a decent variety of bar food options, salads, and comfort-style eats. Now... let's talk about the experience. I ordered a grilled chicken salad... and it showed up with no chicken. Not a little chicken--zero chicken. It was basically a motivational salad. The wait time was also surprisingly long, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. I had enough time to question my life choices. When the salad finally arrived (still chickenless), the dressing was so thick and sweet it felt more like pancake syrup than salad dressing. And unfortunately, this ended up being one of the worst salads I've had--not something you want to be known for. On top of that, the portions were noticeably small compared to other places charging similar prices. Service didn't help much either. The server wasn't very friendly or attentive, which made the whole experience feel even more "meh." Final Thoughts: Arts Bar & Grill has potential with its fun atmosphere and decent menu variety, but the execution just wasn't there. Between missing ingredients, long waits, overly sweet dressing, small portions, and lackluster service, it's hard to justify a return visit. Would I recommend it? Unfortunately, no. Great little spot if you're looking for handhelds and a few beers. I had a grilled chicken sandwich that was amazing! A few tables inside with a nice little bar. I like the vibe in there and if I was in a mood for good food and nothing too fancy it's a winner. Fair prices on food and drink. Good for lunch or dinner. We were in town to visit the historic sites so stopped in for lunch. What a great local bar! Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Was early afternoon so bit a lot of people but the ambiance was great. My friends had peel and eat shrimp and shrimp and grits. I had the crab cake sandwich and my husband had the chili dog. Overall: Nice spot for some beers with outdoor seating to watch a game. The good: If you go in expecting a bar and bar food (which we did), it's a good spot. Good-sized menu and a good amount of outdoor seating (with umbrellas). Service was friendly and quick. The inside seems like a good dive, but we stuck with the outside on a nice day. The not-so-good: The food's good, but not great, which is fine given what it is. Whether you're a fan or not, smoking is allowed on the patio (which we aren't). Ladies and gentlemen- Arts has taken their happy hour menu to the next level. On Tuesday and Thursday all day Arts features the Dog Days of Summer. Four of the best hot dogs ever. The new happy hour menu (4 to 7) feature chips and dip, sliders and Shrimp scampi. Wait there is more. We brought our not so social dog with us and she was greeted with her very own water dish and a cookie. Thank you Jess! The bottom line is Arts just keeps getting better. After driving by many times, we decided to give this place a try. Since being vaccinated and COVID restrictions eased, we've been trying new places. The food first: huge portions, cooked to perfection. No needless fillers or over seasoning in the crab cake which tasted like fresh crab. The flounder sandwich was similarly cooked just right and seasoning did not dominate the fresh fish flavor. Portion size was very generous and a great value for the price. Service good, the beers came out promptly and were nicely chilled. Server was well informed about the menu. We would have been happy to sit at the outdoor area, but apparently smoking is allowed. Deal breaker. The place could use a few cosmetic updates, such as torn vinyl on almost every seat, but not a big factor when considering the general atmosphere is pretty casual. Only one small disappointment with food - the steak fries tasted like they came out of a freezer bag. Hand cut fries would have put this meal over the top by a mile. read more

A great place to relax with friends and all you can eat oysters doesn't hurt either! Yes for $20 every Saturday until March they have all you can oysters. So after a few buckets of those now I had mivedon to the shrimp and onion rings Deep fried shrimp with a good cocktail sauce and onion rings were lightly battered and kind of sweetness oh so good. I like to try ciders and they had a great one and I cant leave out our waitress who really paid attention to us on a crowded Saturday in Mount pleasant. My wife found a place with an AYCE oyster option and she was eager to try Art's out. It's a small little hole in the wall but seems to be loved here on Mount P. Parking is a little complicated but I loved that they had ample outdoor seating. We walked up and were told to pick any table, we were given menus and then sort of left to our own devices for about 10 minutes. The menu is typical bar fare with Charleston staples. We tried the Oyster Roast option and it was plentiful. They provide all the tools and usual fixings. The oysters were piping hot and when a server did come around there was no hesitation with providing another bucket. I opted for the classic burger and it was satisfying. Good oyster roast option. Service was mediocre, menu was pretty basic but if you are looking for an Oyster roast this is your place. Oh a few BEERs ON TAP as well. read more

Great place on Saturday's and Sunday's for an oyster roast.... they were absolutely delicious 19.99 for all you can eat or 10 dollars for a bucket. We got two buckets, it was plenty enough for us. Easily the worst dining experience I've had in Charleston. Sat down to eat at 7:30pm and wasn't served my food until 9:00pm. There was only one waitress handling the outside bar. She neglected to serve us or provide us with updates on our orders the entire night. The only time she came over to check on my party was when she got another order of drinks. She brought out a completely different drink than I requested and included it on the bill. At this point, we were angry and hungry and to top it all off when we finally were served our wings they were ice cold. Not once did the waitress apologize for the unacceptable service or lack of food safety. You really need to rethink offering wing night to your customers if you continue to fail on basic restaurant etiquette. Everyone needs to reconsider their decision before choosing to dine at this horrible establishment. read more

I was born in Mount Pleasant in 1992. I lived here until 2016. I come back every 2 months. I drive by Art's all the time. Hell, I went to Moultrie Middle School. I. Have. Never. Been. To. Art's. Until. Last. Night. Whaaaaat? For some reason, I suddenly felt compelled to go last night, and damn, I'm glad I did. The place is cute and cozy. There is an indoor area and covered outdoor porch area that makes you feel like you're on Shem Creek, even though you're on Coleman Blvd. There's bar seating and booth seating. A good mix of older and younger crowd, at least last night. Live music was playing last night, and the band was good. Bartenders were cute AF. Anyway, I certainly will be back here for a night out some time soon. I can't comment on the food or anything since I didn't have any, but I will return for sure and will keep my review updated as necessary. Check this place out, folks! Local watering hole and we were quickly welcomed and found a seat! On sale was all you can eat oysters for 17.99; but, my oldest wanted to eat oysters and we only had an hour left. ( 1-7:00 pm Saturday/Sunday All you Can eat Oysters) So our waiter offered us $10 oyster buckets. Yes perfect!!!! 2 buckets of oysters- cooked to perfection (bulls bay clusters) if the waiter asked us 5 minutes earlier, we would of ordered a third basket. After looking around for some seafood, more specifically oysters, we found this place on yelp and thought that the weekend oyster roast all you can eat would be a good idea. Sure enough, the local oysters were absolutely delicious!!! I didn't want to stop but finally had to as I felt like I OD'd on oysters. The atmosphere is that of a very local vibe. The people will chat with you if you want them to or not it's your choice, definitely a locals favorite. My only complaint and it's a small in that the beer prices are a little all over the place, two draft beers vary from 4.25 to 6.50... if we knew that we would have ordered the same beers but that's not a big deal. Arts bar and Grill is one of my very favorite local haunts in Mount Pleasant! I cannot wait when oyster season comes around and we visit a couple of times a month normally! On this occasion there was no place to sit outside as there was one person taking up an entire table. We ended up eating at the bar, and I was concerned at first. However we had fantastic service even inside and the oysters kept coming! The bartender and waitress were fantastic and the oysters were on point! They were big and juicy and extremely perfectly salty! I will probably go back this weekend!!
