Delicious wings! Fast, friendly service. Fun ambiance. We got wings- sweet glaze (6) and lemon pepper dry rub (12). Definitely going back!

Dog menu (had to ask), happy customer picture!

Very welcoming and dog friendly so that gets thumbs up. Food is decent not great but doesn't break the bank (any higher and we would reconsider). Very warm and cool setup in the bar restaurant. We havent had a parking issue.

Good brunch spot! Carafe of mimosas and coffee were excellent. The food was good. Very kind and easy going service. Vibe is very different from brunch to late night! Brunch for us was a hit!

Hidden gem for brunch! Live music and the best Bloody Mary! Brisket omelet was perfect. Will definitely be back!

STAY AWAY----STAY AWAY----STAY AWAY my wife and i stopped here for lunch.....she had a Caesar salad with chicken and i had Quesadilla with brisket meat. My meat was burnt and a lot of it was not chewable. She on the other hand made a bee line to the ladies room after the meal with cramps and diarrhea . The table we sat at had no finish and raw wood is not able to be sanitized. The floor facing the bar was dirty ,not sweeped even though it was mid day and very few customers. and the check...sales tax in mount pleasant is 9% with a 2% hospitality tax. (we had no alcohol..there fore no alcohol tax rate) This placed charged 15.5% sales tax.... There is no way i will ever come back; nor do i recommend anyone else to waste you money here... Disclaimer: the above is only my opinion which may be different from yours.

This was not a great experience at all. The waitress wasn't great, the food was salty, boiled peanuts was over priced for the amount you got. Brisket sandwich was tasty but very greasy. Asked for grilled buffalo shrimp got fried and they were so salty. There was no burgers available. And what do sad ''tis was at 3 o'clock so they weren't even busy

We were a large party in town for a family gathering so I was happy the Shelter said they would be able to seat 12 of us when I called ahead. Unfortunately just as we arrived the host inadvertently gave our table to another large group thinking it was us. This meant we did end up waiting a bit for a table, but glad it was only about 15 minutes - unfortunately this was out on their deck rather than inside and for whatever reason there was a really powerful and odious stench out there. Whenever the wind shifted it was pretty awful. It resulted in most of our table squeezing to one side of the table to get away from it. Food wise - we were mostly all really happy. Our table ordered an array of items and were impressed with almost all of it. For apps we had boiled peanuts, hush puppies, fried pickles and okra and wings. All of which were really good. For mains we had the brisket melt - just okay, the shrimp and grits - really good, bowl of bog - good but small, and many of us tried to order pulled pork but they were out of it :( Service was pretty slow going. It took a long time to get plates and silverware and napkins. Then drinks and refills and food came out but two of us waited at least 5 more minutes before food arrived. Overall I would suggest sitting inside for fear of the smells outside and I would say the food was good enough to outweigh the other issues we faced.

Friendly staff and decent food. Went there for brunch. Disappointed you couldn't make same day reservations as we had a large group, but the staff made it work. Servers, hostesses, and bartenders were very helpful and attentive. I decided to go with the "Beast." 2 eggs, grits, fried chicken, on a open biscuit. The flavor and presentation were great. Only complaint was chicken. It was a little chewy. Overall, great brunch spot. It does get busy so get there early. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and games to keep the kids occupied if you have to wait

This is my hangover spot when I'm craving bar food. The vibes are great! Laid back place to get a burger and drinks. They are VERY dog friendly and have tons of outdoor options. Can get pretty busy on the weekend, but service has always fine!

We stopped in here after our visit to Boone Hall & Plantation - luckily we were able to catch the World Cup game (France Vs England), so it was great to have a bunch of TVs and play billiards during the game as well. The food here was great, the hush puppies and fried okra and pickles were big portions and flavorful. Overall I'd say this is a good spot for a casual brunch with friends

My girlfriends and I went to @shelterkitchenandbar at Shem Creek to watch some football a couple of weeks ago. We got there early and had nice seats at the outside-ish bar with tons of tv's around us. We decided to split some appetizers along with some mimosas and beers. We got the Fried Pickles & Okra that was served with a chipotle ranch, it was very good, and I loved the extra saltiness of the pickles! We also got the Loaded Shelter Fries, topped with pork, bacon, chipotle ranch, scallions, Gouda, Jack, and Cheddar cheeses. However, we substituted tortilla chips instead of the French fries. It was really good, and I recommended that substitution if you are craving more of a nachos type dish. And it was also nice little added bonus to be able to earn some rewards points through the Charleston Sports Pub's Loyalty Club.

Isn't it funny how the backdrop of a place changes your view and review? I cannot tell what kind of place this was I only saw pictures of the food and menu. Based on that I thought it would be more formal than a sports bar. So I came in with higher expectations. Especially noticing it is in the Shem Creek area. But walking in noticing immediately it's a sports bar they already had cool points for a great looking food and just being a sports bar. Changes everything. So I guess they were already working with house money. Bartenders are pretty cool social enough. Soon as you sit down and send someone over. I had my son look through my Yelp and he narrowed down to three restaurants. So we picked this one. For his birthday. The food came pretty quick that's always good. We had the egg rolls with collard greens and pulled pork. My son had the pull pork sandwich she said it was pretty good. I had the seafood. It was pretty fresh. They will definitely get a bad review for me if they had great value seafood and right across the street from a fresh seafood place. But it passed the test. Flounder was very crispy and tender. Fry's work cold and hard. But my waiter noticed that bringing the plate to me and immediately asked that I want fresh fries drop. Super cool. Pretty good atmosphere you can tell everyone's irregular. I'm coming back for brunch. I would give three stars but when I asked myself when I come back I gave it one more. The brunch menu looks super good.

We sat inside late afternoon and loved the atmosphere. We started with the Pineapple Martini and the T&T Martini (olive oil washed vodka, vermouth & blue cheese stuffed olives). Both were completely different but equally delicious! For dinner, my sister had the Brisket Mac & Cheese and I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. Both dishes were absolutely awesome. Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! Shout out to the ladies at Trader Joe's for the recommendation.

The area we requested was empty our entire time there. Hostess tried to seat us outside in a crowded corner, we requested indoors, so we were seated next to the kitchen. Our waitress was friendly, brought our drinks quickly and took our orders. We specifically requested apps and dinner not be on top of each other. As we were finishing our apps a waiter/ busboy came with meals. I asked, "Could you clear these dirty plates?" " Not with my hands full" l was told. So our dirty plates, silverware, left over food and dirty table now also held our meals. Yuck! Food wise there were many nice choices and the restaurant was beautiful. Service wise l can do without a smug kid who doesn't understand how to do his job. The place was not busy and if our experience is typical of their service l can understand why.

Given no chance to explain that I did not order or receive any of the extra drinks on my tab, and no chance to reason with anyone who had the decency to listen. The story is as follows: I had accidentally left my credit card upstairs with the bartender after I opened a tab, and then moved downstairs for a table reservation. After dinner, I realized this had happened and asked the bouncer if I could go back upstairs to collect my card and close my tab (moving past a line to do so). I waited about 3 minutes to speak with the bartender upstairs, which is not an unreasonable amount of time, and as I was closing I was tapped on the shoulder by a bouncer and told I was "taking too long", and that I "had to go". Mind you I was still in good standing prior to this interaction. I was then escorted downstairs to where my family was sitting, and still nobody had the thought that maybe I was telling the truth and actually did have a table downstairs, even as it was right in front of them... Not only this, but Reds also does not have a working customer support email. It was such disturbing treatment of a paying and respectful customer. Both overcharging and removing my group without any explanation. Safe to say I won't be returning to this poorly run establishment.
