6 Wings

Good news is they have a cool vibe in a vibrant spot in Mt. Pleasant, live music on weekends, tons of TVs with all the sports games on, and our server was great. Bad news is the food. Fried pickles were extremely salty, ranch had basically no flavor. Kickin Chicken sandwich was covered in a glob of flavorless cheese, and the bacon was not even real bacon. Chicken also had no flavor. Tomato cucumber salad was very unpleasant and didn't seem fresh at all. Wings were fine. The chicken is definitely more "kickin''" at Popeyes or Bojangles, honestly.

Had Jared as our waiter tonight and he was awesome. Super knowledgeable about the menu and would continually check in with our group to ensure we had everything we needed. The happy hour at this place is great and it's a great environment to watch a sports game in. On Sundays in the fall they have a bunch of tvs set up to watch nfl games and have each tv labeled with what game will be streamed on what tv

Very satisfied and full

Due to economy, food prices are high but hubby has cancer so we still go out to eat to keep creating memories. Manager with teal blue ponytail went out of her way to cut our cheeseburger in half and gave us a very side of fries on separate plates We will try to come again

House salad- huge! With blue cheese and good crunchy croutons.

We always visit the Kickin' Chicken when back in Mt P. We sat at the large bar inside. The atmosphere is great for watching sports and hanging with friends on their patio/sidewalk on Coleman Blvd. The inside space is huge so it would be good for groups and families too. The food is consistently tasty and fresh. Got the nuggets with tots tossed in spicy ranch dry rub and the Drive In Burger w/ side salad. People, do not sleep on this burger! It truly is delicious and if you like an In N Out style burger, this is it! Lori was the bartender and she was attentive and gave us the suggestion to try the burger! The beer is always cold and people friendly! Give Kickin' Chicken a try!!

Wow, our son came here with his girlfriend (who has questionable taste) and raved so we came. Disaster, poor service, the food was chick fil a quality on a good day and our waitress asked us after we ordered our item, "what side" like it was included- which it was not. I wrote to management over a month ago and crickets. They also charge a service fee regardless of payment type. So you may not realize you are tiping above this. Never going back. Including receipt which was the only way we knew we had these additional charges. They come to you with the portable cc machine and give you a figure, only if you request a receipt by email can you see the charges and by then it's too late.

We came out tonight for a couple reasons - to catch some Sunday Night Football, to have Kickin Chicken because we can't get this where we moved to, and to hang out. We were seated almost immediately and were told we could sit wherever we wanted. We chose a high top table near the bar. All of the TVs were set to SNL so pretty much any seat was a good view of the game. We got banging shrimp and cheese curds. Husband ordered 12 wings (his usual) with 2 different types of dry rubs - ranch and buffalo. I don't recall our server's name, but she was great! She was on top of everything and made sure we had everything we needed before we were out of anything. She checked on us often and we laughed about how she'd show up at our table without us knowing she was there until she said something to us. This visit was great and anytime we come back to Charleston, this Kickin' Chicken (and Summerville) will always be our go to spot!

We were at a soccer tournament, and one of the parents recommended this place. This place was pretty cool. Great ambiance, our service was great and food was really good. If I'm back down there, will go back again.

I used to go to Kickin Chicken probably once a week when I went to CofC (they had the best trivia nights) so it was fun to get a little taste of nostalgia on my latest trip home. I definitely overdid it on the fried food, as we started with the fried pickles and then I got a fried Kickin chicken sandwich and a side of Bobby fries. Needless to say I really needed a nap after. We came with 3 kids under the age of 4 and the staff handled the chaos perfectly. They brought crayons and paper and interacted with them super sweetly. Great place for family and lots of parking!

Overall a decent meal. The lemon pepper wings were well seasoned and crisp. Many don't show celery love but it was fresh and the ranch, delicious. I also had the Southwestern egg rolls. They were more mushy in the inside than I liked. I probably wouldn't get them again. Service was decently quick. No complaints on that or the wing-ish atmosphere. A normal wing spot worth trying.

We sat inside late afternoon and loved the atmosphere. We started with the Pineapple Martini and the T&T Martini (olive oil washed vodka, vermouth & blue cheese stuffed olives). Both were completely different but equally delicious! For dinner, my sister had the Brisket Mac & Cheese and I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. Both dishes were absolutely awesome. Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! Shout out to the ladies at Trader Joe's for the recommendation.

The area we requested was empty our entire time there. Hostess tried to seat us outside in a crowded corner, we requested indoors, so we were seated next to the kitchen. Our waitress was friendly, brought our drinks quickly and took our orders. We specifically requested apps and dinner not be on top of each other. As we were finishing our apps a waiter/ busboy came with meals. I asked, "Could you clear these dirty plates?" " Not with my hands full" l was told. So our dirty plates, silverware, left over food and dirty table now also held our meals. Yuck! Food wise there were many nice choices and the restaurant was beautiful. Service wise l can do without a smug kid who doesn't understand how to do his job. The place was not busy and if our experience is typical of their service l can understand why.

Turning into this area, is seriously a hidden gem of Mt P. The scenery is beautiful, calm and homey. The building itself feels like you are walking onto someone's large porch of their fancy classic beach house. They are have views of the tennis courts, pool and other beautiful areas around it. Now the food, was awesome! I am very picky when it comes to fish, as I usually eat shrimp, crab, tilapia and that's it. But wow, it was refreshing to actually enjoy a different type of fish that wasn't slimy, or tasted fishy. The texture was just right and full of flavor. The hummus, oh yes tomato basil flavor perfectly complimented the fish. Seriously mouth watering. Now the bar, oh heavens yessss. I have no idea the name of the pink drink, but it was phenomenal! It wasn't weak, and wasn't to strong, which can be difficult when mixing with tequila. It was literally just right. Now onto entertainment, they have live music on top of live action tennis. Can it seriously get anymore southern. Love it! The performer was a 14 year old kid saving for college, but he was pretty dang good. Lastly, I loved the atmosphere as it was warm and welcoming. As the sun when down, they flipped on the twinkling lights above. Really made it feel like you where having a party on someone back porch. There's really no other way to do it when you're in Charleston! I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try, it's definitely a hidden gem.

I've had the ahi tuna- it was $16 and the portion size was minuscule, and it was served with round tortillas that were a bit stale tasting. I've had the Caesar salad, and it was the best thing I've eaten here if that tells you anything. If you're not a member of the club you're really not missing out on much.

The Southern Bar & Grill is a great local hangout in Mt. Pleasant. The interior has humorous things…read moreon the wall, dollar bills signed and stapled to the bar, and a great vibe in a very clean environment. We had to try the Apple Pie shots since everyone seems to talk about them. This is way more complex than some apple flavor liquor. The ingredients take some prep work, and the result is something that literally tastes like apple pie. If they bottled this, I would definitely buy it. They have two specialty drinks, the Freshy and the Orange Crush, both of which are made with fresh squeezed juice squeezed right when you order. I had the Freshy which is orange or grapefruit juice with your favorite liquor. I chose grapefruit with vodka and even though I am not a huge fan of grapefruit the freshness and tartness of the drink made it quite enjoyable. My wife had the Orange Crush with Deep Eddy's O.J vodka, Triple Sec, Sprite and some of that fresh squeezed orange juice. It was nice and sweet which was good since we were ordering a lot of savory options. The Potato Skins arrived first and they were truly impressive. Good sized skins with the perfect amount of potato, not too thick or too dry and definitely homemade. They had mixed cheese, bacon and green onions served with sour cream also loaded with green onions. As far as all the potato skins I have had these were a standout. Next came the onion rings with an absolute massive serving for just eight dollars. You could tell they were homemade and served with a chili garlic sauce. The best part was the batter coating which was crispy yet didn't fall off when bent or bitten. They reheated nicely in the air fryer. Next, we tried the Toasted Raviolis which were filled with Italian sausage and served with a house made marinara. They were nice and crispy, but the true star was the marinara sauce which was thick and chunky with parmesan mixed all throughout. I wish they had more dishes that used this sauce as it was excellent. On the advice of some regulars, I tried the chicken fingers which were all breast meat, dill brined and hand battered. It was good advice since the chicken was juicy and tender with a flavorful coating. Sometimes it pays to ask. My wife ordered the thing they are known for their Philly Cheesesteak. She decided on double meat, and they were super generous to the point she looked at me and said, "I don't know how I am going to finish this!". This cheesesteak gets nominate for a lot of best of lists and I could see why. I liked that the cheese was mixed in with the meat and not just poured on top. She enjoyed it but said next time she will order it as is. This is a great place to hang out and relax and maybe catch a band or some bluegrass and enjoy a great meal!

There's something about the name "Acme" and good seafood when it comes to coastal restaurants…read more Along the Gulf, you think of Acme Oyster House. On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

We walked in and the place was emptier than a church on a Wednesday night, yet somehow we were told to head on over to the bar, wait for a table, and go ahead and order ourselves a drink. Didn't make much sense, but we did as we were told. Then we stood there a good 10 minutes while the bartender, who let us know he's studying to be a dentist up in Spartanburg, was busy chatting away with another customer like we weren't even there. When he finally got around to us, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. But the real kicker came after we finally got our drinks. The manager came up, and I kid you not, told us we had to leave the restaurant and go out to the parking lot to finish them. No explanation, just attitude, and not a polite one either. To be honest, the manager seemed like she might have had a little too much Easter spirit, if you catch my drift. The whole interaction was downright combative and made us feel completely unwelcome. What really got me, though, was the poor hostesses and waitstaff. They apologized to us over and over and quietly let us know this kind of situation is something they deal with on a daily basis. We even heard her speaking sharply to another customer, which made it clear this wasn't just a one time issue. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a bad trip to the dentist and cost about the same as a root canal. All in all, it was a mess from start to finish, rude, confusing, and about as un Southern hospitality as you can get. I would think twice before going back, y'all.
