Wonderful sides of Mac n cheese and potato salad

What a great place! Fiery Ron's won't disappoint . We ordered THE BOARD which had a large assortment of que favorites. It was a great way to try everything with our group of 4. Had smoked wings, jalapeño cheddar sausage, pulled pork, rack of ribs and turkey. Must try if you are in Charleston !

Love Home Team especially this location! The services is amazing and you can beat the post beach hangout. Game changers aren't my thing but my friends love them! I'm not a huge orange juice fan and that's what they taste like to me. But there Rub is a Battlefield is one of my favs. This past weekend we ordered the egg rolls ( a special) SO GOOD!! All of their food has been a hit every time but these were incredible!!

Great place for a no shower happy hour coming in off the beach from Sullivans island. For drinks I'd recommend either the Irish coffee or a game changer ! It also has some of the best BBQ in town. Only downside is there can be quite a long wait on college football game days (big Georgia bulldogs bar) so get there early

Home Team BBQ has to be one of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. They don't take reservations, so a party of 12 on a Saturday at 11:30AM I was expecting about an hour wait. It took about 20 minutes or so and we were sat. Service: incredible!! From the moment we walked in and put our names on the list to paying the bill they were awesome and so friendly. Food: if you like wings I highly suggest getting them for an appetizer. I do not care for blue cheese, but I was able to overlook it and enjoy the savory wings. The pulled pork sandwich was piled high with pork and my side was mac n cheese which was very creamy. Definitely a must try. The Mac n cheese balls were good not great. I would look at other items on the menu for an appetizer. I did see another table place and order of their nachos and they looked super good and piled high. If you like bbq a great place to go before the beach or when you're leaving the beach.

The dry rib wings were the star of the show! The brisket nachos were great too, they give you a giant portion!

**MUST TRY** - Fiery Don's Smoked Chicken Wings Top 3 wings I've ever taste. The Home Team BBQ Dry Rub used on the wings was savory & sweet! I regretted not getting the 12 wings. The Fried Ribs are also rubbed with the Dry Rub. Home Team BBQ will definitely be a must for us from now on whenever we're in town! ASK FOR EMILY. Excellent server and great suggestions.

Dozen smoked wings achieve a perfect rating every time!

My favorite beachy meal spot. Open air, good tunes, casual, great service, and so many winning menu choices. During Covid we started a new tradition of ordering ribs and smoked turkey for our feast, and never looked back. Spicy smooth bloodies, frozen sweet game changers, or local brews all recommended. Their wings have such good flavor and are never dry- they sell that dry rub! Plus this is a business that consistently gives back to the community. I'm consistently over ordering here so that I'm sure to have leftovers! No reservations so prepare to wait a little in peak times. Game times can make for a slower table turn.

Great choice of sauces

We wanted to try as many different items as possible so we went with the three meat & two sides combo. Our server, Tori, helped us with our choices of brisket, pulled pork, and turkey for meats with tomato/cucumber salad & slaw for sides. She did not steer us wrong! Everything was delicious. The ambience is comfortable, casual, and fun. We had a great lunch.

We went to Home Team in Sullivan's Island for the first time to meet up with my girlfriend's college buddy, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. The place has a fun, busy vibe that immediately draws you in. Our friend greeted us with two "Game Changers," which definitely kickstarted the buzz--highly recommend trying them if you haven't! We were told the wings were a must-try, and they did not disappoint. Perfectly crisp, with a delicious dry rub, and super meaty--easily some of the best wings we've had in a long time. But honestly, the only thing better than the wings was the overall hang. The service was friendly and accommodating, even with our drunk friend dapping up the bartender every five seconds. This is the kind of place where you can grab a drink with friends, enjoy great food, and have an all-around good time. We'll definitely be back!

Smoked meats and sides... soo good!

There's something about the name "Acme" and good seafood when it comes to coastal restaurants…read more Along the Gulf, you think of Acme Oyster House. On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

Well bless it, I don't even know where to begin with what happened to us this Easter at ACME…read moreRestaurant on Isle of Palms. We walked in and the place was emptier than a church on a Wednesday night, yet somehow we were told to head on over to the bar, wait for a table, and go ahead and order ourselves a drink. Didn't make much sense, but we did as we were told. Then we stood there a good 10 minutes while the bartender, who let us know he's studying to be a dentist up in Spartanburg, was busy chatting away with another customer like we weren't even there. When he finally got around to us, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. But the real kicker came after we finally got our drinks. The manager came up, and I kid you not, told us we had to leave the restaurant and go out to the parking lot to finish them. No explanation, just attitude, and not a polite one either. To be honest, the manager seemed like she might have had a little too much Easter spirit, if you catch my drift. The whole interaction was downright combative and made us feel completely unwelcome. What really got me, though, was the poor hostesses and waitstaff. They apologized to us over and over and quietly let us know this kind of situation is something they deal with on a daily basis. We even heard her speaking sharply to another customer, which made it clear this wasn't just a one time issue. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a bad trip to the dentist and cost about the same as a root canal. All in all, it was a mess from start to finish, rude, confusing, and about as un Southern hospitality as you can get. I would think twice before going back, y'all.

Inside the men's bathroom had two urinals and two basins. Also there is an outside bar with three TVs, one behind the bar and two in the covered entertainer's area. We sat outside so we walked to that outside bar with the friendly, efficient, effective server. We also ordered food, the Butcher's Burger and a set of single ribs with your choice of sauces. Unfortunately the ribs were overcooked and thus tough to bite off and then bit chewy. The burger was quite good, with cheese and sliced pork belly to upgrade any usual burger, but this meat was thick and also had slight bit of tomato jam. Other than the underwhelming, overdone preparation of the ribs, it was a good time for all as people came and went. IMPORTANTLY, on this date, they were selling cooked oysters in small groups ALL YOU CAN EAT (when's the last time you heard that?) for $30. The profit on the oysters is going to a Down's Syndrome support group. Excellent!

I've only ever been on a game day, so I'm not sure if the flow is the same. But you order your beer/drinks and/or food at the bar or counter. Then they give you a number to head to your table. I look forward to many more good experiences here!

The other ones I have tried such as Lewis and Swig and Swine have a new comrade that belongs in the leg-end-ary tier. I knew I was going with pulled pork and I would have went with the 2 meat if I hadn't had a reception to attend later in the afternoon. Ooooo....gosh that pulled pork was so tender and looks like it had a tinge of mustard to it. I have eaten a lot of BBQ and that pulled pork would be somewhere at the top! Being in South Carolina meant I had to have hash and slaw. The hash was close to a fine BBQ stew and I couldn't get enough of it. The slaw was the way I liked...diced, sweet, and fine! I had to order potato salad as an extra since that is usually my favorite side at BBQ joints. The potato salad was made with red potatoes and very creamy. I love the sauce bar and wish more BBQ joints would have one. Here is a rundown of them: Gold Sauce - tangy mustard base Spicy Gold - spicy Gold sauce Gold Special - tastes like Honey is mixed in for a Honey Mustard taste Southern Red - mild tomato base Sweet Red - sweet tomato base possibly with molasses There is an Alabama (Roll Tide) White Sauce but on this day, they were out. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! Melvin's was leg-end-ary all right and I would rank it as my best BBQ meal of the year in 2025.
