If you're looking for a dive bar, this is it. If you're looking for a British pub, this isn't it. I was SO excited to come here and get Sunday roast because I saw it on the menu online... they don't have it on the menu anymore, along with most of their traditional English dishes. I got the fried chicken, and the chicken itself was great and a huge portion, but holy mother of salt lick the gravy tasted like a salt mine exploded in my mouth. Great Irish pub, very divey so don't expect much except good drinks and a few standout dishes!! I saw the Union Jack symbol outside so thought they would have a Pimms cup but alas, no luck. Instead had a refreshing glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Loved playing darts, they also have some other games like billiards and a shuffle board of some sort. They have live music on Friday nights but I'm in my quiet era and dipped out before that lol overall staff is friendly - just go to the bar to request and order food from the menu vs. sitting down. We visited several times wanting this to be our local. That will go unfulfilled. The food was average at best. The service was slow and not in any particular order. No table service. It's should be a fun place with pool tables, darts and other games. Music was on one night, not another and the Super Bowl the other night. There was a wide variety of local craft and national brands of beer. The fish ands chips were served warm with the French fries not crispy enough. The fish was disappointing - a large, heavily battered piece of fish that was relatively crispy on top and mushy on the bottom. Had to ask for silverware and napkins while sitting at the bar. Stopped here while we were on vacation to watch the premier league soccer game on Saturday morning. They were only showing football which was disappointing but after we inquired they took the time to change a TV for us. We enjoyed a few beers and admired their nice selection of local and classics. They didn't have any sours on tap which would be nice considering their popularity. We also tried their signature burger and tater tots which was delicious. The place is decked out in fun British culture and has pool tables and a stage for live entertainment. It looks like they offer weekly events but I noticed their Instagram is not active so ignore the "closed until further notice" COVID post. There was a drunk guy bothering us and the bartender helped clear up the situation which is always appreciated and definitely earns 5 stars. read more

We've lived in Mt. P for about 5 years now and just tried this place. We went on a Friday night and it was BUMPIN!! They had a full band and a big crowd. The perfect atmosphere for a Friday night out without having to go downtown. Beers are reasonably priced and they have a pretty good selection of draft beer too. Shuffleboard, darts, pool tables and cornhole are all available. You just need to give an ID to the bartender to get the supplies! We had a great time listening to music and playing darts. It's definitely not a fancy place, but we have already been back just for a fun night out nearby. read more

Spent a nice a afternoon having lunch at this funky pub. Definitely did not get the whole experience this place offers though. There's a spot for a live band & a dj! They have pool tables, an outside area, & a really nice bar. So. Many. Beer. Options. We started off our meal with the pretzel & cheese app. For our meal, I got the Colorado Lamb Burger... YALL! I love lamb. I've never had it in burger form. Oh man! It was delicious! They put tzaztiki sauce & rosemary aioli on top to add with a combined flavor of unique. That's the only way I can describe it. The S.O. got the Churchill burger. It was smothered in cheese (which is always appreciated). All in all, it was a really tasty lunch. November 3rd (2022) we arrived at My Father's Moustache around 7:30 PM and have been coming for the past year after a several year hiatus. We sat at a high top table very visible from the bar. There were 2 bartenders on, not many people at the bar just about 4 guys at the right hand side. While were were seated, no one acknowledged us, one young man came in and was given a beer without even ordering......either a friend of the bartender or a regular but it was obvious that it was never rung in as the male bartender walked away and went outside to the patio. While we sat there another couple came in and sat down at the left hand side of the bar right by our table. They were served immediately and the female bartender who kept playing with her hair started discussing singing God Save the King and about music by the Sex Pistols. All this while continuing to ignore us sitting at the table. Finally I walked up to her and asked if there was a server on. She was obviously annoyed that I had interrupted her conversation with the people who came in after us. I said we've been here awhile and others have been served before us. She snapped and said, "If you wait a minute I will get to you!" We sat backdown and by the time she arrived at our table with menus it had been 10 minutes and 52 seconds. At that point I was concerned that it would only get worse, we got up and told her that we will be going elsewhere. I did not want to have to leave a bad review on Yelp and hoped that by reaching out to them on their website that I would at least get an apology and show that they at least cared about their customers. No response from the owners or management so here it is. The same thing happened to us at this location years ago and we did not go back until this year. You know the saying, "History Repeating Itself." I never want free food or something for nothing, just an apology for our experience and acknowledgement. It was obvious that the bartenders on that night did not care about waiting on customers other than their regulars who sit at the bar and drink. We always order drinks and food so.....guess what it would be a higher check and also a higher tip..........guess they didn't think of that. I could understand if they were busy, at least acknowledge the customer, get their drink order.......we can't order our second drink until we get our first. It was obvious that the kitchen would not be busy as they were not focusing on anyone other than the bar. read more

This is an upscale dive bar. A spot for locals. A spot to play pool, play cornhole (although I've never seen people playing it) and enjoy a few beers. The burgers and tots are satisfying but I left feeling so damn full and disgusting. My bottom bun was a flat, greasy, useless mess. Fried Pickles are tasty. Have tried their fish and chips before and they're not great -- especially for a "british" pub. Stick to Codfather for that. The staff is easy going and friendly, but not overly so. They leave you alone for the most part. I'll definitely be back, for some beers, apps and hang time, but I'll skip the mains. read more

Monday night 1/2 off entrees is why we pulled into this little strip mall bar and restaurant. We had the wings which really should have been crispy. They were good but wings should not be like baked chicken. My husband had the burger with the bacon jam and all I heard from him was how delicious it was. We had the fries with homemade ranch dressing which surprised me from a bar but both were delicious. My husband had the onion rings which were equally delicious. Came in for a late lunch with a friend before skipping town for the weekend. It was pretty slow when we arrived but it was early afternoon on a Friday. We stood around for a minute wondering if there was a hostess or if we should just seat ourselves. She then noticed us and let us know we could sit anywhere except for a couple tables that hadn't been wiped down yet. Then we waited. About 15 minutes went by before my friend finally got up and went to ask the bartender for menus... mind you, we're the only ones not sitting at the bar. Shortly after, our server came back out and brought silverware etc to our table and came to take our order. She apologized for the wait and said something came up in the kitchen. We ordered food and drinks all at once because we had plenty of time to decide. She did make an effort at redemption by letting us know she had a free appetizer coupon and would apply one to our order for the inconvenience which was very thoughtful of her. Then back to waiting. Our appetizer of fried pickles came out pretty quickly but the rest of the food really took a while. My friend had a burger which he didn't have any complaints about and I had the Sheppard's Pie. The pie was big serving and it was great. They could leave it under the broiler just a bit longer to get that mashed potato crust just a little crispier but otherwise it was a hit. We both agreed that the fried pickles were great and had a little bit of a spicy kick to them. While our server made that initial attempt to do right by us for the long wait, she continued to be slow and even forgetful of bringing things we asked for to the table. She was very personable and maybe was just shorthanded or something but the service was definitely lacking. The food was good along with the atmosphere so I wouldn't completely knock them for the service but, if it continued on my next visit, I probably wouldn't be back. read more

I am so happy to see My Father's Moustache Pub & Eatery open up in the neighborhood. While not exactly an authentic English pub it certainly does the job. The name seems a little weird, but trust me the pub has some pretty good food and a good selection of beer on tap; in addition to a full service bar. We noticed that the pub last week as we were driving by; it had replaced the JPaulz that was there. We thought it looked interesting so while out on a walk to enjoy the beautiful weather today we decided to drop in for some lunch and a liquid refreshment. Walking in we very impressed with the layout; they have a nice long bar, a few tables, and games including billiards, darts, video games, pinball, and a shuffle board table. We took a seat at the bar and I saw they had Smithwick's on tap, and that sold me right there. I love a nice cold Smithwick's! The food selection on the menu is pretty impressive; we shared a wedge salad and T.E.D (Thanksgiving Everyday) Sandwich that was great with roasted turkey, dressing, and cranberry mayo. Other items on the menu included Bangers & Mash, Hamburgers, and Prime Rib. I have to go back and try it all! All in all I'm very impressed with what they have done with the location and I look forward to many return visits. A very welcomed addition to our neighborhood. read more

Don't believe the older reviews on here. We were just in Charleston for a family vacation. We ate at some gorgeous upscale and expensive restaurants that I would consider 4 and 5 stars-Fig,Husk,etc...... -for what this is-an Irish pub with pub food-it's also a 5 star in my book. The burgers were perfect -huge ,you could eat just half and be satisfied - but they were cooked to perfection -perfect med rare for me and medium for hubby - just spot on. They were juicy and tasty - not at all what some of the old reviews describe. Cole slaw was probably the best I had all week . Perhaps there is a new chef or purveyor but either way for pub fare,it's excellent. Staff was great. Attentive but not at all obtrusive. Good/fair prices for food and drinks. Don't come here looking for fine dining -it's not what they do. But pub fare they do well. read more

It's so very disappointing lately (more times than not) visiting this establishment. I miss the good ole days when it was much more relaxed and inviting. Lately, we go with a group, we spend money mostly on drinks and sometimes appetizers and food depending on the time. We typically engage in a game (pool, darts or corn hole). It is evident leadership is not from the area and have been staying afloat with the good vibes and atmosphere; with live music and entertainment. I am sad to report the service is terrible and the people working can be very off putting these days. We go because sometimes it can be very fun and we have a great time. There are not many places like this in town anymore which makes this venue attractive. It's very humbling to realize that the people working forget they work in a service industry. If this venue was just a restaurant it would flounder....Charleston wants and needs places like this. The people working here need to re evaluate how they treat their customers and leadership needs to train their staff accordingly. Perhaps that is the vibe they are going for, but that saddens me to believe that to be true. The intent of this review is to be constructive and help improve the business. I truly hope this encourages change for the better especially in the world we live in these days. read more
