Bar inside teriyaki wings Guinness stout on tap

The teriyaki wings were meaty, and the sauce was addicting! My daughter Grace and I went on a weekday when they gave wing specials 1/2 price We paid only 10$ for excellent and filling wings!

So we were at the end of our vaca and have always wanted to hit this pub. It did not disappoint! The bar lady was nice, friendly, chill, made good suggestions, good convo and just plain cool! The spot had a chill vibe, we sat by the bar. What threw us over was the GRILLED WINGS!! WOW!! Meaty, hot and delicious! At first, I was all cute and was like I will eat about 2. I went in! I had 5 and we ordered 12 more to go! That good! Met the owner and he was awesome! We shared stories about our teenagers. We will be back!

This was the bill for my friend and I

I went here and it had a good atmosphere yet when we walked in we were left to our own devices and I had to ask the staff for menus. Then I look at the menu and see $15 for a chicken sandwich and decide to go with that. The sandwich was only worth about $8 I was not impressed. I also chose the side of potato salad and it was about 2 ounces of potato salad. They also don't serve French fries, what kind of pun doesn't have French fries. The waiter visited us once to give us our food. We had to ask for menus and refills on our drinks and the bill. Overall it was a bad experience and waste of money.

Great pub on the island. Cash only place, but they do have an ATM. Menu isn't too extensive, which is nice. They have a popcorn machine, and once it's ready, they pass baskets around to everyone - and Its pretty good popcorn at that too.

Both Southerners and the Irish are known for their hospitality so we weren't surprised by the warm welcome we received at Dunleavy's Pub. Owen greeted us, brought a basket of popcorn, and took our orders. We enjoyed local beers and searched for familiar beer cans, police emblems, license plates, and sport memorabilia that decorated the pub while a waited for our food. We were surprised to see our Boston teams well represented. Owen brought our meals quickly and pleasantly. The mahi mahi served on a soft roll was flaky and delicious and the chicken salad on rye was excellent. We chatted with the owner; his family opened the pub over 30 years ago. We wish we could come back to Dunleavy's but we're leaving Charleston tomorrow. Maybe we'll return someday.

It is the quintessential Irish pub located a few hundred yards from the extraordinary beach on Sullivan's Island. Get a perfect pint of Guiness. Spend hours looking at the decor rich with Irish, Boston sports teams, collegiate sports and more. It's even better after a day at the beach or just a day anywhere. It has good craic. The service especially at the bar is friendly and engaging. You can see the staff enter the kitchen through a confessional door from an old church. It is my personal favorite pub in the Charleston area. A little biased from Boston and Dublin. The food is alright with some highlights including the sliders.

Best local vibe!! Great bar food-- our favorite is Mahi sandwich- so good. Staff is always friendly. Bathrooms clean. Oh and very important- beer cold and good selection. This is our favorite place in Sullivan's Island. And yes it's cash only -- they have an ATM

This place is a must for any Notre Dame football fan. The host the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Charleston and the only true Notre Dame football bar I have found in the three years I have lived here. I have stopped in Dunleavy's from time when in Sullivan's. It's your typical Irish pub with a good atmosphere and cold beer. If you are hungry I would definitely recommend the wings. If you like spicy, go with the hotter than hot hot wings. You may need extra blue cheese because these boys are killer. Where the magic really comes out here are when the Irish are on the gridiron. This place is electric! Everyone screaming for the bad cheering for the good. If the Irish score the bar erupts in the Notre Dame fight song. Whether you like Notre Dame or rooting against them, all are welcome. Come grab a pint with some good people in a great atmosphere where you are guaranteed to have a good time..

There's something about the name "Acme" and good seafood when it comes to coastal restaurants…read more Along the Gulf, you think of Acme Oyster House. On the coastal Atlantic, we recommend Acme Low Country Kitchen. You get five-star food in a rustic setting that could benefit for a bit of a makeover -- but only a touch or two. Excellent service compliments the food. On our plate: The "Light: House, including sauteed shrimp, seared scallops and a house-made, fresh crab cake that comes with a caveat that a shell chip or two might be mixed (we call that authentication). All were perfectly prepared and ample sized. This wasn't a shrimp-and-chips drive-through; this was a meal. Our sides: Collards (this is the low country) and fried Brussel sprouts, again well prepared. Price: $38.25 and among the higher-priced items on the seafood-heavy menu but worth it. Others in our party, including two non seafood eaters, chose the pecan fried chicken (two breast with one each going home because of the size) with another going with the Carolina Duo of the chicken and short ribs. Will we return? Yes. There are other options we've yet to try as our visits to Charleston increase but this was a real treat. Even better, it is near the fabled Dingy beach bar where we ducked in to watch the Kentucky Derby. We could spend our retirement years at The Dingy but that's another review to come. Acme is a 4.5-star review with the only points shaved because it just needs a little updating (after the season, perhaps). The food and service more than make up for it.

Well bless it, I don't even know where to begin with what happened to us this Easter at ACME…read moreRestaurant on Isle of Palms. We walked in and the place was emptier than a church on a Wednesday night, yet somehow we were told to head on over to the bar, wait for a table, and go ahead and order ourselves a drink. Didn't make much sense, but we did as we were told. Then we stood there a good 10 minutes while the bartender, who let us know he's studying to be a dentist up in Spartanburg, was busy chatting away with another customer like we weren't even there. When he finally got around to us, it felt like we were more of an inconvenience than paying customers. But the real kicker came after we finally got our drinks. The manager came up, and I kid you not, told us we had to leave the restaurant and go out to the parking lot to finish them. No explanation, just attitude, and not a polite one either. To be honest, the manager seemed like she might have had a little too much Easter spirit, if you catch my drift. The whole interaction was downright combative and made us feel completely unwelcome. What really got me, though, was the poor hostesses and waitstaff. They apologized to us over and over and quietly let us know this kind of situation is something they deal with on a daily basis. We even heard her speaking sharply to another customer, which made it clear this wasn't just a one time issue. Honestly, the whole experience felt like a bad trip to the dentist and cost about the same as a root canal. All in all, it was a mess from start to finish, rude, confusing, and about as un Southern hospitality as you can get. I would think twice before going back, y'all.
