Vickery's had a lovely view of Shem Creek. We sat on the upstairs patio - which can either be too windy or overrun by seabirds! The service was great and we got an app to share. For the price, I expected more to grouper fingers. But it was good to have something to nibble on. There was live music downstairs as well, and that was nice. I wasn't a big fan of the food here but the service made it better. The grits were super lumpy and so I just ate the seafood off the top of them, It's a cute restaurant but there are lots of other places to eat in Shem creek. It's a very large restaurant and during the week their happy hour lasts until 7. My friend also had a bourbon salmon pasta which was amazing. I regret not ordering that one. Lol read more

food was delicious! drinks were great and our server cody was top notch! i had some of the most delicious crab cakes i've had in quite awhile!!! the others had calamari, bourbon butter shrimp, caesar salad with chicken, shrimp n grits & green beans. all were very good. we sat outside and enjoyed the evening breeze, got a little chilly after some time, while watching the firework from i'm guessing the joe but could've been patriots pt if they do them. outside wasn't crowded so not sure about inside. it has been ages since i have been there but my daughter mentioned how much they enjoyed it so.... i will be back for more crab cakes and bourbon butter shrimp!! read more

OK food More dumpy than divey Disorganized, standoffish service Upon walking in, it seemed like kind of a cool place. On closer inspection, it seemed a little bit more rundown than divey. The crab cakes and the Hush puppies OK. The side were meh. The low country sautee was pretty good. My biggest issue was service, which was just issue after issue. I called ahead to make a to go order. They told me 15 minutes. I came after 20, and upon my arrival was told the food would be a bit longer. I asked how much longer, and good thing I did, because only then did I learn it hadn't been ordered yet, and wouldn't be ordered until I paid. Bartender explained they needed a credit card first and someone should have called me back to say so, and the person that didn't was new, but she said all this like it was my fault and I should have known better. She sent a manager to talk to me, while I was waiting for the food too, and he pretty much said the same thing, adding that they don't typically do to go orders. Ironically, they were set up to automatically charge an extra 10% for to go orders... The manager discounted the bill, but just barely, like $8 on $100, for the record. When we got home, we discovered missing items from the order too, so it was a disaster all around. I recommend the other places close by instead, particularly Red's Ice House. read more

After arriving in Charleston, we were hungry! My daughter was told by a friend that lives there that Vickery's has great people, great food, and a great view! All true!!! Kate took great care of us! We spent quite a bit of time on the deck enjoying the sunset and the breeze! Even though we stayed well past finishing our meal, Kate continued to take good care of us! My mom ordered a Hamburger. It arrived HOT and super juicy! My daughter ordered the Black N' Blue Hamburger. The Blue cheese was fresh and really made the burger great! I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy! I asked for an extra side of the sauce. I LOVE GOOD SAUCE! The shrimp was big and perfectly cooked so every bite had tons of flavor! We are so glad a local recommended Vickery's! Came on Saturday at 6pm, super busy but no wait surprisingly. It's super pretty inside, lots of decorations and a great view of the water. The food was below mediocre though unfortunately. Bourbon shrimp tasted only like oil, penne pasta; one with added blackened chicken and one with grilled shrimp. The pasta wasnt flavorful but it did have flavor, not nearly enough past sauce for me personally though; either that or the plate was sitting for a few minutes before brought out. I would go again but maybe stick to the fried food, that seems to be their specialty. read more

The service was definitely good. Just fyi, all of the parking spots have a parking Qr code but it is free for the first 3 hours when you go there and eat. Vickery's gets points right away for validating parking. I got the chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and collards. Each tender was smaller but there were plenty of pieces, so it felt like a pretty good portion. The chicken was alright, but the ranch was really good. The mashed potatoes didn't have much flavor and the collards were just okay, but the vibe was great and the staff was friendly. Not sure why overall rating is 3.3 stars as I have come to Vickery's as each time I come to visit Charleston & I always have a good time. Food is consistently good, the spot on Shem Creek is awesome and service is always friendly. 4.5 stars My cousin used to work here back in the day so it was recommended by her. Sunset views are great and there's a boardwalk you can check out. Service was a little slow and food could've been slightly warmer, but the atmosphere is what made it what it was. We got the calamari appetizer ($13.95?). This was our first dinner experience in Charleston for this visit and WOW - YES please!!! The food - AMAZING! The staff - attentive and friendly The atmosphere - warm and relaxed We did go after dark and weren't quite sure where we were going so it was a little tough to find, but if you head back to the far back side of the parking lot you can find parking and the entrance. We went in the back porch way but eventually found our way to the hostess. I ordered the small Spinach Salad with Raspberry Vinegrette dressing and a cup of Black Bean Soup. It was really good. The soup was hot and super tasty. The salad wasn't really anything special, but it was exactly what I wanted. My companion ordered the Western Burger with fries and HOLY GOODNESS that was a beautiful burger. I stole a mouthwatering bite. It was so good! The patty was hanging over the bun on all sides and the sauce and juices were dripping. It was one of those burgers you don't want to stop eating even after you're beyond full. It was so good. 10/10 would recommend the burger and the soup! The waitress who served us was friendly and attentive - our glasses never went dry and she checked on us throughout our meal at respectable intervals. The only thing I would have give a 9/10 stars for was the lighting - it was a little dark. If you have trouble seeing in darker rooms, it would be tough to see the menu, but if you were looking for that vibe for a first date, it would be great. read more

We went to Shem creek park with my parents and my dad saw this place and we stopped to grab a beer but ended up getting food as well. Service was great. I have food restrictions and I had zero issues with their food, I loved it. The turkey pita with fries was amazing. I loved the vibe here it was so chill and relaxing. Our server was Lauryn, she was so sweet, attentive, and quick! She was great. We all loved it here, no complaints. I will definitely be coming back. It's definitely worth it day or night. Interesting decor the moment you arrive and I love the uniqueness of it all of this location. Great music playing the whole evening. We received great customer service the whole time. Great drinks along with great food. The fried calamari was good and the orange marmalade that comes with it. The bourbon shrimp was so delicious that I had to get the bourbon shrimp pasta. The Pesto Salmon was so delicious it's crazy. Everything tasted fresh and came out nice and hot. Everything was cooked wonderfully. I met a few clients for lunch a Business meeting at Vickery's. Wow I didn't know Vickery's was on Shem Creek. This restaurant I located on the waterfront and the view is awesome. Services was great! Our waiter took excellent care of us from start to finish. One of my clients ordered a Margarita and she said it was so good she ordered another one. I ordered the Big Platter, which was fried seafood, plenty of oysters, shrimp, 3 flounder, and scallops, it was huge!! One guest ordered a small Spinach Salad(she enjoyed nothing spectacular) and the other guest ordered fried oysters, fried scallops and an order of crab cakes. The food was served hot out of the kitchen. There was no complains just silence. I definitely will be back to dine at Vickery's soon. read more

Wow, what a disappointment. The three visits we've made over the past year have all been bad. What used to be a nice semi-local restaurant with good food and service has been turned into just another tourist trap on Shem Creek. The prices went up and the portions went down, and the quality fell off the cliff. Being acquired by Water's Edge was clearly not a good thing. After each of the three visits we've made over the past year we hoped it was just a bad day for them, but no - it is now just consistently poor. read more

However , the corn was cool but it matched perfectly with the crab cake and dip. We ordered a huge 4-meat fried platter which was enough for 2-people. Fish was cooked well / fried shrimp and scallops were amazing. Fried oysters were ok - we're not big oyster fans. They gave us free dessert since it was my husbands birthday !! I've always frequented the other side of the creek. This was the first time I visited on this side, and I'm happy I did. Great outdoor space right on the creek. Upstairs dining is called Vicerys, while the downstairs deck bar is called Muddys. We hung out at a picnic table on the deck. Casual dining at its best, right on Shem Creek. Before or after Vickerys (Muddys), you can walk what seems to be a 1/2 mile boardwalk along Shem Creek and around the marsh. You can begin or end at the back deck of the restaurant. We just had nachos this visit, and they were perfect. We will be back to try other menu items. For now, it's a great place to have a drink and snack right on the water. Not fabulous ambiance in this old restaurant, but a beautiful setting for a lunch on the marsh! Service was friendly, and the hostess was willing to shut the door allowing 54 degree air inside. We started with a hot artichoke dip, which was all cheese covered with parmesan cheese. Tasty but so much cheese. I ordered the bourbon shrimp which also had crawfish tails the sauce was very very light butter not heavily flavored grits were well prepared and creamy. My husband had the jambalaya really enjoyed it but ended up picking the meat out of the plentiful rice at the end. We did not opt for drinks or dessert on this visit but really enjoyed walking the Shem Creek nature area both before and after our lunch.
