We always enjoy coming here! Usually for all you can eat wing night, but we recently stopped in for their fish fry on Friday during Lent. I prefer haddock so it was in my element. The breading is so crispy and the fish is fresh. I'm not crazy about the style of french fries but it's the right type to serve with fish and chips. We also ordered the Wisconsin cheese curds, which are to die for if you feel like being bad. They remind me of the ones I would have in the midwest in my childhood. The service is always good and I like that the atmosphere is laid back. It never feels snobby, but rather it has a townie vibe which I love. read more

Gave 2 stars for good customer service. Food was not that great. Ordered hibachi with chicken. Served with yum yum sauce on the side. I waited outside bc inside was pretty packed and was surprising for 2 pm. When food arrived, it was hot and fresh but ridiculously salty. I had a hard time eating it. I took a few big bites and picked at it for a minute and then just threw it out. I couldn't tell if it was the soy sauce used or something else. Kind of upset but I did not have time to see if they could make me another one-I was in a bit of a time crunch. Would possibly try again...but not in the near future. Do a google search for "sapphiresbarandgrill" (no spaces) and click on their specials page. Whatever you see there is GREAT! Aside from that, their menu has something to please every pallette. Ambience - 5:5. Inside it's cozy but the real win is the outside deck. The perfect place to eat when the weather is great or even when we're getting a soaking summer rain. Service - 5:5. Prompt. Fast. Friendly. And the place has a great sense of humor. I won't say why but keep your eyes open when you get there. This place has definitely changed. No beers on tap, just bottles. Smaller menu, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Went tonight for hubby's birthday and it was mediocre. I ordered the Jesus' Street Corn dip and the waitress said, "It's not hot, is that OK?" Having made elite salad myself many times and enjoyed it as much cold as hot, I said that's fine, it's hot out anyway. Cold indeed, and soggy as if it is made by the gallon and stored in the walk-in until it's all eaten. The corn is not roasted, just pale as if dumped from a freezer bag. Throw in some mayo, a meager amount of cotija, and a sprinkle of cayenne and they seem to call that good. It was not good. I never waste food but I couldn't convince myself to eat more than half. Disappointing to say the least. What the waitress should have asked was, "Do you like street corn?" And if the answer was yes, recommend they do not order this. The fish bites were better, very light, freshly fried and crispy. Nice tartar sauce. 14 bites, 4 that were super-tiny. $12. Seems a bit overpriced. The chicken Philly was reportedly tasty and loaded with toppings, so it took several bites just to find the bun. The staff was friendly and upbeat, but the atmosphere was kinda tired and run-down. Went to Sapphires to watch the Packers game since they are a huge packers bar. The place was decked out in Packers colors and there were tons of tv's with multiple games on as well. For our starter, we got the cheese curds, and omg, they were soooo good. Very lightly battered and the perfect amount of gooey cheese and saltiness. For my sandwich I got their chicken philly sandwich as a wrap. It was loaded with chicken, onion, mushrooms peppers and tons of cheese. It was absolutely delicious. I also loved the hand cut chips that they serve with it. Although I didn't get a pic, my friend got their Patty Melt and she said it was one of the best ones she has ever had. Sapphires is pretty much the definition of a local neighborhood bar & grill. I could tell almost everyone here was a regular. Servers were friendly and food came out fast and was well priced. Menu was exactly what you would expect, wings, burgers, fries, a few salads... the same ingredients made in different ways and nothing fancy. But you know what? Sometimes that's legit all I want or need. I was delighted that the burgers weren't these over the top gourmet disasters and instead was exactly what I wanted and needed: a good slab of properly cooked meat on a white bread bun with standard toppings. My grilled broccoli had a little oil on it but wasn't greasy and was still healthy, my burger filled me and was juicy. The fries (I stole one off my kid's plate) was a basic frozen fry and it was just fine. Kudos to Sapphire's for being a good place where people clearly love coming to all the time, didn't make me feel ripped off, and served me down home food, fast. The one thing they need to change here is that there are seats out front and they allow smoking, not only did I not love walking through a cloud of cigarette smoke on the way in, but you would smell it inside. I might just be being picky here, but as a former 2-3 pack a day smoker, who has a ton of empathy for those who still smoke, I really don't want me or my kids having to smell it on the way in or while I eat, it's just not appealing. A Sports Bar hidden in a strip mall. Plenty of parking. It's definitely a bar that serves food, the lighting was dim and there are booths around the bar. It's not fancy by any means, there is also a patio. This would be a great spot to hangout with friends at the bar and have some pub food and drinks. The portions are very large. The prices are reasonable. The food was not bad. We got the Big Mac Quesadilla and the Chicken Cheesesteak. I ordered too much on my cheesesteak which made it impossible to pick it up. My home away from home! Sapphires was the first place we tried while we were in the process of buying our first home. And we still love it! It's right in the heart of Goose creek, there is a dog friendly outdoor patio. And a nice bar setting inside with lights and a bunch of TV's to watch a game or event. You seat yourself at an open table, service is always friendly and quick. I have tried several things on the menu at this point and have never been disappointed. I think I'll eventually try one of everything though. Here are a list/reviews of some menu item's that I've tried: Pretzel with cheese sauce : amazing, tasted like a homemade soft pretzel, you'll want to drink the cheese sauce after it's so good wings : Crispy, juicy, flavorful, and delicious. They also do weekly wing specials. I believe .75cents on Wed night Cheeseburger quesadilla: If you love burgers and quesadilla's you'll love this. The sauce reminds me of in&out sauce. So tasty, will leave you full and satisfied Cheesesteak sandwich: I've lived in philly and this is not a bad rendition. Steak is tender, bread is soft, plenty of filling but mot overdone So that's all for now, I'll update as I try more things. They do weekly/daily specials as well which is awesome. Sapphire's sitting in a small strip mall in downtown Goose Creek. I have heard a lot about this restaurant but was very disappointed. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The chairs and tables are in poor care. The back of my chair was actually broken. Server was friendly. It took 25 minutes for my order to come to my table. When it arrived it was cold. Server seemed uninterested in my opinion about being served cold food. She asked me if I wanted a to go box. The restaurant was very loud with music and loud conversations coming from the bar. If you are into loud bar like atmosphere this might be the place for you. I did try a few bites of the food and the taste was average. Serving was average. I am always willing to give a restaurant a second chance. But very unlikely I would recommend this restaurant. They do not offer beer on tap but they do have a full serve bar in their restaurant. read more

I know a lot of us can't wait to share the fancy dining experiences we have but once in a while it's nice to give a shout out to the little guys. We decided to try Saphires Bar and Grill in Goose Creek and were pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food. We started with fried cheese curds that are brought in from Wisconsin, the owner takes great pride in these. They came out a nice golden brown with the yellow curd inside providing a nice cheese pull! The prime rib staek bites provided rich flavor and went well with the small toasts that same with it. The humorously names Melted Snowballs from hell are a can't miss item and so unique. It consists of a cream cheese dip with bacon, scallions, serrano peppers, and a Thai chili sauce with both chips and bread. So tasty but keep a cold beer handy to fight the heat! They are known for their wings which have over 20 wet varieties and over 10 dry rubs! The wings are big and juicy and packed with flavor. I especially loved the spicy plum wings which offered a great balance of sweet and spicy! Being Philly Cheesesteak fans we had to try and were quite pleased. Ample steak coated in ooey gooey cheese, they hold their own to other local cheesesteaks! A great wait staff who are friendly and helpful and over 30 TVs for watching football make this a sports lover's dream! I'm feeling as though an update needs to be written, as I've eaten, drank and made merry since my first inking. Between the Lasange, Chicken & Dumplings, French Dip and tonight's Shrimp special, it's all I can do to keep myself from posting while dining and reflecting. Not one meal does a review make at a wonderful eatery such as this, and whose delectable dishes mysteriously fly under Charlestons food scenes radar. The lasagne was no lightweight and easily pressed triple layering, peaking at an impressive four inches and tipping the scale at a half a pound to be sure, probably more. The chef carefully mounted and combined the noodles, meat, cheese and a chunky tomato sauce -- from the accountant to the rail layer, a hearty meal to be had to be sure. My Chicken & Dumplings a week prior were served in a creamy sauce, about that of a soup in liquidity that shared the same common denominator as the Shrimp Wrap I had tonight. That being, both shrimp and chicken shared a size that's uncommon unto themselves within so many meals I knew prior and, quite unlike these meals, are now are long forgotten. The chicken and the shrimp just dominated the entire dishes presence yet remained balanced. Served with a garnished sprinkle of oregano upon the outer potion of the dish and bowl, style points awarded. The homemade garlic bread served with the lasagne can not go overlooked nor will allow it to be. Chef knows something about Italian food and heritage, I'm sure of it -- and I think it came to him early in his world, I feel and taste an extension of some previous influence he had. The effort of adding a hint of style to the served plate does not go unnoticed, nor unappreciated. Nor the cozie I was given tonight to play some defense versus the harmful suns warming rays upon my beer, opting to sit on the veranda again, pups in tow again. Thank you Kim! Not even the plump dumplings could match up with the prime cuts of chicken filets --- As was the plentiful and massive shrimp, each bite -- just a gang tackle of the main ingredient. I went to this place to check out for a large group lunch. Their Facebook page said to preorder the Prime Rib so I did. When we got there they could not find my preorder twice, once asking if I ever spelled my name differently! Finally my food came but without some of the items, the mushrooms and onions. The Prime Rib did not look good, was not cooked to what I asked for, and there was a bone in my Prime Rib, I never had Prime Rib with a bone. Then they brought the bill, $25 for this meal! Loved it! My husband and I tried this place from a friends recommendation and we were not disappointed. I love the vibe, the bartender was sweet and made great drinks and the prices were good! My husband got a byo burger and for the price it was AWESOME! You got to pick a nice amount of toppings free. His only complaint was the bacon was a little undercooked but besides that he loved it. I got the cheese curds (house favorite) and let me tell you... if you don't go there for any other reason go there for this! They fly the cheese in from Wisconsin and it is SO GOOD. The homemade batter is delish, the portion was huge and I literally ate every piece. I also tried the scallops wrapped in bacon, again very good, same issue with the bacon but overall very good! Fast and friendly service, wish I remembered our waitresses name but I was craving a cherry limeade with vodka and she made it happen and it was delicious! Ordered egg rolls and 20 wings with 10 sweet & spicy plum wet sauce and 10 Nashville hot honey dry rub. The egg rolls with sweet chili sauce were bomb and a huge portion!!! We both liked the wings but next time I will ask for them to be cooked extra crispy and ask for extra sauce/seasoning. Okay, my review last time will stand for how this place was previously. Now, it is overpriced, but let me give factual reasons. My wife and I got fried cheese curds 10.00 with what looked like tomato soup for dipping, with maybe a little bit of salsa mixed with it in a small plastic holder of the amount of maybe 3 tablespoons ( if you wanted ranch extra .75). We are glad we didn't really use enough of it, because it would have costed 1 dollar more if we requested a refill. My wife got the quesadilla for 10 dollars, add chicken 5.00, guacamole 2.00 and side of jalapeños 1.00. Any extra what was once a norm at no cost has been extended to the consumer. I had fried chicken sandwich 12.00, add dipped in hot sauce 2.00, side of ranch 1.00. The beers were the cheapest at 4 dollars a bottle. Prices have only gone up, but then that should be it right? I understand pricing needs to go up because of how things are today, but to be as greedy to extend even more cost even further with condiments is sad to me, and nothing short of just greed. 89.00 not including tip once all said and done. I have lived in the Creek my entire life since 1979. To see this at multiple locations taking advantage of the consumer sickens me. We will not be going back. Good luck read more
