    Stoney's Breakfast includes pancakes

We went to Stones Throw today for brunch after a six month hiatus. My last visit was less than average, but after seeing a face back ad I thought I would give it a try. I am happy we did! Brunch was as good as I've had in West Ashley. My brother ordered steak and eggs, wife got the Stoneys breakfast and I got the Low Country Board with an egg. Everyone's food was great and plenty of it. The biscuits were cat head the size and the service was outstanding as well. I'm putting this back in my regular rotation.

We liked it! Came here on a Saturday afternoon after a day of shopping. We were hungry and wanted to eat something quick. Came here since it's dog friendly, and near by. I ordered the garlic parm wings and pretzel sticks with beer sauce. My boyfriend got the poutine fries with steak. Wings were delicious! Garlic parm sauce was on point. Pretzel sticks with beer cheese sauce... I could drink it in a glass. Pretzels were soft and yummy My bf was happy with the poutine fries and steak. I appreciates the wine pour in the glass as well. We will be back! Only complaint is the chairs out on the patio are wobbly and uncomfortable! Needs upgrade.

This is exactly how my order came, cold no fries and HM everywhere, pretty crappy service.

I ordered off Uber eats and see photo of what I received- absolute crap. It came an hour and a half late, no fries and no lids on the honey mustard! I paid 20 bucks for this crap. I called and no answer.

Always appreciate when there is Guinness on draught!

It's a chill sports bar and I was happy they had Guinness on draught! The food isn't anything extraordinary and is just typical sports bar type food, but this is definitely a convenient spot to go to for sports games and some good beers on tap.

While I always read the Yelp reviews before trying a place, I also know that sometimes everyone has a bad day. Hubby picked this one because it was close to where we are staying on vacation, and against what I have read, we had a long travel day today - we were tired and hungry, so I hoped for the best. I should have listened to you Yelpers! The first clue should have been when we walked in and they told us to sit anywhere. We had 4 choices, because none of the other tables had been bussed (fun fact, they still hadn't been when we left). We started with the loaded fries, extra cheese and sauces on the side. So glad we did, because the sauces were ranch (not a problem) and the "house sauce," which was basically Buffalo wing sauce (which I hate). Loaded fries - not a lot. We ordered extra cheese. They say under broiler a little too long. We ordered the sauces on the side thank goodness because the "house" sauce was Buffalo sauce. I'm guessing that was extra cheese? "Too long" and overcooked was the theme of our visit. Hubby ordered a Ceasar with grilled chicken. The chicken was so overcooked that it was like leather. Luckily the longer it sat in the thin sort of Ceasar dressing the more it became sort of edible. Not good - but edible. Let's talk about my blue cheese burger and side salad. I ordered it mid- rare because our server asked. It came out WAY beyond well done. Not even juicy. In fact, the blue cheese was an afterthought. Not even close to melted. I didn't even try to eat it after the first bite, though I did try to cut into it several times looking for redemption. But none was found. Our server felt bad and we said we didn't need them to make it again (as we were already an hour and a half into this). She said she would comp our bill and bring me a big salad. I told her that wasn't necessary. She brought it anyway. And our bill still reflected the burger. Smh. I get being short staffed, but at some point a place has to put out good food despite the challenges. This is not the place. I hope at some point they at least get a busser.

Good wine and service! Great mushroom Swiss burgers! Chicken wings are also tasty. The tap beer selection is excellent.

Stones Throw Tavern is a nice place, out of the way - and some of you may remember them from years ago, under different ownership as Parson Jack's. We stopped in for lunch because a friend of mine went on and on about how good it was - It was lunch on a Saturday, and as we were heading home we decided to swing in and give it a try. Nice spot, as far as bar decor goes, and pretty large. We ordered some chicken strips and the Spring Salad - the salad was a clear winner with strawberries, candied walnuts, cucumbers, and an apple vinaigrette - I was even able to snag some to bring home (now if I could just recreate it! )

The live music this night was good! ..... But just look at the nachos..... :( Dont make the same mistake I did. Do not order the nachos.

We have been in Charleston for 6 years and have not truly explored much. This year we decided to try one new eatery a month. This month (tonight) we Tried Stones Throw Tavern for the first time. After SIX years living around the corner from it! Come on! Seriously why have we been hermits?? Okay, Review time. The atmosphere was awesome. It is truly a tavern. I loved the bar feel and the live music. The musician played awesome but his singing lacked passion for sure. It was a little loud so we sat on the other side of the place.. near the bar. We started with the Fried Pickles and Fried Mushrooms for appetizers. Loved them both. I am not a mushroom fan but I tried them. My two men.. husband and son.. devoured them. The pickles were good, albeit a little salty. They almost tasted just like the ones at Kickin Chicken. The Ranch was very good. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich, Husband had smothered chicken, son had a blue cheese burger and we ordered a togo Tex Mex for son that stayed home. Mine was delicious but I had to ask for mayo and had them add pickle. My son said his burger was dry and felt like it was missing something but it was a basic okay.. my husband couldn't eat the smothered chicken because it was too crunchy for his teeth. I tried it and loved it. I gave him my grilled chicken. Guess he thought it being smothered would make it softer. The service was great. She never missed a beat. It seems like we can't go out to eat anymore for less than 100 dollars. Tonight, for four entrees, two beers, two sodas, two appetizers, tax and tip we paid $116 total. Got a four star because the food was good but has room for improvement.

My wife ordered the steak salad and the steak was overcooked, but when asked how things were, they were quick to make it right, and brought out another steak to fix the issue. 5 stars! I hope they see this review and know that they are doing something right. I do wish they had better merch. I wanted to buy stuff but was told their shirts shrink quite a bit after washing. Bummer.

A group of about 8 of us went out for drinks Saturday (5/2/26). We were having a great time (respectful, quiet, not causing a problem). We will finish our drinks inside. 5 minutes after that, we were asked to take our last sips and leave. 15 mins before the posted closing time. Again, we weren't causing a problem, weren't loud, weren't disruptive. This was a group of 8, most of us well into our 40s (or older). But they were telling all guests to leave at 1:45a?? Just after we bought drinks? The posted hours say they close at 2a. Not 1:45a. Most of us left half finished drinks. The large bouncer was nice enough, the tiny one in a hoodie with glasses was totally unprofessional. So beware. The Blind Tiger has what it takes to remain a Charleston institution. Their staff, might ruin that chance.

It sets the tone immediately, and the festive energy carries straight through the meal. We kicked things off with Bloody Marys and a Morning Fog -- simple, classic, and done right. For starters, we shared the Hula Hoisin Wings. They were definitely on the heavier side with the hoisin, but still absolutely delicious. The Mistletoe Mango Tuna Poke Tacos were a standout. They come as a small plate with three appetizer-sized tacos, and every bite was bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The Buddy the Elf Burger offers a choice of a single or double patty; ours was cooked perfectly. The smoky bacon really brought everything together and gave it that extra "wow" factor. We rounded things out with the O Come, All Ye Fried Rice with Hanger Steak, which was another winner -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. As if the meal wasn't great enough on its own, we happened to be there while Emily Curtis was performing. She's truly incredible and added such a fun, memorable vibe to the day. I'd be remiss not to mention Kevin our server. Go see him. He was great. The whole team works great together.
