Sometimes you just want a friendly, neighborhood joint with good service and comforting bar food. This is that and more. Lots of tvs and a willingness to put on your team. A convivial crowd of locals. A cute shaded patio. A real chef on premises cooking to order. Also some pretty great specials that offer value. If you want to settle in and watch your favorite game over tasty food and drinks- give this neighborhood spot a try. Wings, salads, onion rings, tots, nachos, and chicken parmigiana sub were all devoured.

Just arrived in town from Chicago, looking for a decent meal, and we wandered into Woodward Tavern. Our waitress was very friendly. And as the food came my family dug in, and I just kept hearing, "Wow, this is really good!" The pork tacos were excellent! Check out the pics below. My wife got fries, and I couldn't stop eating 'em. My daughter got the buffalo chicken dip and it was FIRE : ) Stop in and check out this place. You won't be disappointed.

We sat outside since it was such a nice day. The patio is a sort of alley-style set up. It did take us a minute to let someone know we were going to sit outside because they had only one server working. On a Saturday afternoon. We felt so bad that this guy was busting his butt to serve the tables inside and outside on his own. He was very friendly and helpful. Despite being the sole waitstaff, he did a great job. The food was great. The fries were absolute perfection- crispy and good flavor. The Buffalo chicken club was one of the better Buffalo chicken sandwiches around town. The Turkey club was pretty standard but still tasty! Tater tots were crispy and also delicious.

Mushroom and cheese pizza for $17 Overcooked burger with no condiments for $17 Ordered medium with ketchup, mustard, pickle. Overpriced mediocre food. Slow service. Most disappointing restaurant in the area.

Found this nice little bar after trying to find a place to eat without an hour wait. The bar was full of local guys having drinks and bar munchies and enjoying sports on the big screen. The place lacks any real decor at all-it's a "what you see is what you get" atmospheres and which is perfectly fine because they don't overcharge for their food or drink. The server was friendly and the food came out pretty quickly. One of our of meals did not come out as what we ordered but they were quick to correct it. The Buffalo chicken dip was very good and my patty melt was tasty but the bread and onion rings were not as crispy as I asked. A good place to grab a quick bite.

A friend and I were doing a Charleston drinking tour a couple of weeks ago and somewhat drunkenly decided to finish our night with ice cream. After asking around, a friend suggested that we try Woodward Tavern for their milkshakes. Our Uber found it without a problem and we sat at the bar for our non-alcoholic imbibing. I ordered the peanut butter cup and did not expect the monstrosity that was placed in front of me. It had full sized PB cubs somehow glued to either side, reese's pieces scattered all over the side of the glass, and utter deliciousness awaiting inside. I am pretty sure I finished it in record time (although my friend had both a milkshake AND an ice cream cone before I was even halfway done) and woke up the next day with no hangover. So, not only is it delicious and worth every penny, but it's a hangover cure.

Woodward Tavern on Riviera Drive in Mount Pleasant is a great place to go for delicious food and desserts. I really like everything that they have available here and have been impressed every time I have been here.

This bar is a beautiful addition to Seaside. It's bright airy and has a beachy vibe with many TV's and a spacious area to accommodate tables without being on top of your neighbors. The food was great with massive portions. Had I known that I would have shared with my buddy. I have one complaint though. The service was horrible. We sat for a long time without anybody coming near us. Finally placed our order and waited and waited. Finally dinner came. It was good however again we waited and waited for someone to check on us or get more drinks. It didn't happen. What a pity. I understand they were busy and the servers looked like they were stretched to the limit. They need to re evaluate the staffing situation here or they will basically lose customers. Maybe it was a one off.

We came here to watch the Penn State game. The Charleston, SC PSU Alumni Association recommended it. There is a Penn State flag hanging out front and we walked in and found about 3/4 of the bar were Penn State fans. The food very good bar food. We had Thai peanut wings. They were good, but not great. We had the pretzels. They were ok. Tasted like frozen. We both had a salad. Mine had fried chicken tenders with sweet potato flour. They were crispy and tasted like donuts. I have to try sweet potato flour at home! Apps. 3 star. Salads 4 star. Service 5 star.

Great, family friendly neighborhood pub. Good draft beer selection and plenty of TV's for sports. The homemade milkshakes were a huge hit with kids! We stopped for lunch but plan to go again for dinner soon.

If you are craving good beer and the BEST milkshake in the city (or the world) come to Woodward Tavern!! Don't let the word Tavern make you think they don't do dessert right - bc oh boy, they do. We ordered the s'mores milkshake and it was PHENOMENAL!! It's everything you'd want in a milkshake. From the soft, buttery chocolate on the outside of the glass, to the perfectly toasted marshmallows and the beautiful hint of graham cracker as you slurp the milkshake through a perfect milkshake straw, you will not be disappointed with every.last.taste. Check out my picture for the full amazingness of the presentation. We will definitely be back to try the other shakes!! Go Woodward!

Left pic is what we received, right is what they advertise on their website. For $10!!!!

I am rarely one to complain, and honestly this is my first review where I just cannot find one positive about our experience. I guess I can say our 2 beers were cold, and that's about it. Our meal began with nachos, which we asked for sour cream on the side. When the waitress brought them over, she realized her mistake and told us she forgot about leaving off the sour cream and put them on the table anyways. No offer to take the item back and fix it, but it wasn't a huge deal so we scraped it off and carried on. On the Facebook page, the burgers are shown as mouth-watering, juicy towers of meat. My husband ordered the BBQ burger, and I got the beer cheese one. The patties were obviously frozen, with very little flavor, and pretty unappetizing. My husbands burger online showed a patty topped with 6 onion rings, each covered with golden, melting cheese and BBQ drizzle on each layer, topped with a juicy tomato and some lettuce. What he received was a patty, a slice of processed cheese, and 4 onion rings with some sauce on top. To the tune of $15. Mine was equally disappointing. The soft taco and quesadilla for our kids were average, not much you can do to ruin a quesadilla. The biggest disappointment came at dessert. It was our 9 year olds birthday and he got to pick the restaurant. When we saw the pictures of the outrageous, over the top milkshake concoctions on the menu, he was sold. So, when his cookies and cream milkshake came out in a plastic cup looking nothing like the one he was so excited to devour, he was crushed and burst into tears. Then, to charge $10 each for the bait and switch milkshake, it was just unbelievable. Final blow, all of this cost our family just over $130 once we added in a tip. As a hard working family in the public service field, this is a lot of money for not only a disappointing meal, but one that ruined the birthday celebration of one very special 9 year old. Hands down, the worst food and worst experience we've ever had. Don't waste your time, or hard earned money, at this spot. *UPDATE* I am happy to report the owner of the restaurant contacted us and seemed genuinely upset at how our meal went. Owner was kind and reported immediate changes were in the works to bring food back to their original standards.

The back opens up to another bar with outdoor seating, very cool. The bartender out back took our drinks, I forgot her name but she was from California originally, La Jolla area? Anyways, very friendly and was attentive even with all the guests in need. We hung out for hours, meeting locals and enjoying drinks. Decided to order food and they had a cheese dip that was spot on. My wife ordered the steak salad and the steak was overcooked, but when asked how things were, they were quick to make it right, and brought out another steak to fix the issue. 5 stars! I hope they see this review and know that they are doing something right. I do wish they had better merch. I wanted to buy stuff but was told their shirts shrink quite a bit after washing. Bummer.

A group of about 8 of us went out for drinks Saturday (5/2/26). We were having a great time (respectful, quiet, not causing a problem). Last call hit at 1:30 so we decided one more drink before we went our ways home. 10 mins later we're were asked to leave the courtyard and head inside - not a problem. We will finish our drinks inside. 5 minutes after that, we were asked to take our last sips and leave. 15 mins before the posted closing time. Again, we weren't causing a problem, weren't loud, weren't disruptive. This was a group of 8, most of us well into our 40s (or older). But they were telling all guests to leave at 1:45a?? Just after we bought drinks? The posted hours say they close at 2a. Not 1:45a. Most of us left half finished drinks. The large bouncer was nice enough, the tiny one in a hoodie with glasses was totally unprofessional. So beware. The Blind Tiger has what it takes to remain a Charleston institution. Their staff, might ruin that chance.
