This spot often slips my mind, but it's a great find. We've been twice, and the food has been consistently good. The large outdoor patio is pet-friendly, and the staff was thoughtful enough to bring Luna a few treats, which was a nice touch. While we haven't been inside, the outdoor area is spacious and pleasant. The only downside was the number of flies--though that's understandably hard to control. Adding fans or table solutions might help with that. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. read more

Very cool spot to come and hang out and have some beers. Wasn't a fan of the food, however. I would describe the food as very generic bar food. They try to trick you with the German add ons, but it's really nothing to write home about. The interior is nice with TVs and plenty of seats and space to hang out. Haus Burger was so dry if not dredged in ketchup it would have been like eating cardboard, and the patty was so small you had so much more bun than burger. Server wasn't knowledgeable with the food menu. Asked about things and she couldn't tell us what was on it or what came with it. For a slow Saturday afternoon you'd think it would have been better. I wanted to really enjoy this place because I love German bars but when I wanted to change one of the tvs where no one was even watching to a rival soccer game in the Bundesliga, a German league they told me no even though no one was watching. FIRST AND LAST TIME GOING HERE. Will NOT recommend to my friends. We went for the NYE event they hosted: $10 cover which is fine, the food was good, drinks were ok. The problem started when they cashed out our tab before we asked and said they added a 21% gratuity to it THEN kicked everyone out to wait in the cold at 1230 (before 0100 which is what they posted the event ended). I said this and they told us oh well you have to go outside we're closed. The tab clears my bank and they added AN ADDITIONAL $80 tip! So now this bartender gave himself over $140 of tip on my tip between the forced 21% they originally gave then added the additional tip. We immediately called the next day ask asked to speak with the manager the hostess said she would get him to call us back, gave name and number and told the situation. They didn't call us back. Once again the place was cool but not for how they treated their paying customers there for an event they decided to host then to think they can just add extra tips on the tabs!! read more

Came here for a trivia night with some friends. It was pretty crowded so service was a bit slow but that didn't bother us so much since we were preoccupied with trivia. The beers were okay but were a bit pricey so didn't order more than one. The food was okay, satisfied the hunger but not worth a trip out for the food itself. Overall decent place to check out because of the unique interior but food and drinks don't knock it out of the park. read more

This rustic tavern style restaurant has great personality and very comfortable ambiance. They have amazing beer selection, outdoor seating area and live music! The food, however; is just so so. I got the veggie burger that was made with black beans and other vegetables. It was topped with fried eggplant, shoestrings avocado spread and a garlic aioli and pickles. It was still very dry. And I couldn't eat it with the bun because it was just too dry with it. It didn't taste bad but I have had better. My husband got the bratwurst with tater tots and we were kind of disappointed on the size of it. It was more the size of a hot dog and not the standard large brat. Plus it was overcooked and all the juices were cooked out leaving it dry and not as flavorful as it should be. The service was great! They were very friendly and professional and made our visit a lot more enjoyable. All in all, not sure if we'll come back. Maybe just for drinks. The kitchen staff needs to work on their cooking skills. Until then, I cannot recommend this place for the food. read more

Came here for lunch on a saturday mainly because it's dog friendly. Got there around 230pm they sat us at a high chair area and that would have not worked well with our dog. So we asked them if we could get a bench. They said they would put us back on the list. So we sit outside and wait, and wait, and wait. It's almost 4pm and we see a BUNCH of tables open. We waited an hour just for a bench even though there was a bunch available. Very frustrating. When we finally sat down our server was very nicr and attentive. We were super hungry at that point so got a pretzel and out entrees ordered. I got the pierogi with kielbasa. My bf got the chopped beef sandwich. So the pretzel was DELICIOUS. I would order 3 of those, plus the beer cheese sauce yum. Everything else to me was meh. Pierogis were too much and not that good. It was a lot on the plate that didnt work well. So we orderes the tator tots as well loaded. Those were okay, kind of soggy but good flavor at least. The pretzel to me was the best thing and if we came back that's all i'd get. My boyfriend loved his sandwich and most of the food. The rose I got was deliciois. Atmosphere was okay, very loud with games and things going on. But lots of pups so love that Overall its a meh for me. i'd only ever go back for the pretzel and rose. It's also in a sketch neighborhood. Wouldn't feel safe going at night. I stopped here last night after work with a friend to check out their happy hour. It was honestly my first visit and I'm not sure why. It was still pretty early in the evening, so there was plenty of seating out on the patio and inside. We were greeted and sat at booth inside. It's cute, has a rustic vibe, and looked to be clean. The menu was a scannable QR code, which I couldn't get to work, but our server offered us a paper beer menu, which was much appreciated. We both sampled a couple of beers, got a happy hour priced pretzel, which came with cheese and mustard, which was tasty. My friend also ordered an entree of the kielbasa and periogies, which wasn't my favorite, but wasn't bad- just not my taste. All of the drinks and food came out quickly and the staff was friendly. I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at Bay Street Biergarten, and it all started with the hostess, Casey. From the moment I walked in, she seemed annoyed to even be there. Instead of greeting us with a smile or even basic courtesy, she acted like we were inconveniencing her by showing up. When we asked about being seated at a certain table, she gave vague, dismissive answers and clearly didn't care about helping us. What should have been a simple and welcoming start to the night turned into frustration and irritation because of her attitude. A hostess sets the tone for the entire experience, and unfortunately, Casey's lack of professionalism and customer service skills ruined ours before we even got seated. If Bay Street Biergarten wants to keep customers coming back, they need to seriously rethink who they're putting at the front door. read more

We spent half our time at the bar, the bartender Joe was very knowledgeable in regards to drinks and pairings which was greatly appreciated. Best happy hour! I got a brat and a soft pretzel during their happy hour which runs Wednesday through Friday. The pretzel was amazing! It tasted, super soft and almost like it had been freshly baked. It came with the most delicious cheese sauce and a mustard sauce as well. The brat was also delicious and came with a few different toppings on the side which I thought was nice to be able to pick and choose which I wanted on top. Stopped in for an easy Sunday lunch. They have the nfl ticket with plenty of TVs all marked for which games are playing. We began with the pretzel appetizer- it was delicious! The pretzel tasted fresh, the mustard dip had a slightly sweet finish, and cheese dip had a great flavor.
