The reviews were kinda mixed so I didn't have the highest of hopes, but I'm always willing to give a place a shot. The building looks like a medical practice so I initially rode past it but once inside it's nicely renovated. There's a main dining area, 2 bars, a VIP lounge with hookah, and a room with a pool table. I came during happy hour but the food is unbelievably cheap without the discount. Our server Sierra was great, but the bartender/hookah server needs to work on her customer service skills. She ignored us for 20 mins but found time to pour herself a drink and twerk. Now the food: The cabbage plate with fried whiting, yams and rice was yummy, seasoned well, and plentiful The chicken Alfredo with broccoli was delicious Never had fried corn but it was great! The dredge was perfectly crispy and seasoned well. The drinks weren't memorable Went back a 2nd time and had brunch: peach Bellini carafe (perfect), salmon cakes (soooo good), grits and eggs were just ok. Our server Jasmine was great. I'll definitely return when I'm back in town 7/10

You can tell they make the effort to marinate the wings because the meat itself was flavorful. $20 for 12 wings + fries. The salmon plate was about $11 after tax and was very good! The salmon croquette was nice and crunchy on the outside with the perfect proportion of bell peppers/onions in the middle.

The staff at that location has always been welcoming, professional, and customer-focused, which is why yesterday's experience at the downtown Charleston location was especially disappointing. On Saturday afternoon, May 23, I visited the downtown location with my brother and my nephew. Shortly after walking in, the manager on duty informed us that my nephew's "gym shorts" violated the dress code and asked us to leave. I understand that businesses have the right to establish dress standards, especially cigar lounges that want to maintain a certain atmosphere. That said, the way the situation was handled came across as rude and unnecessarily dismissive. There was no effort to handle the conversation with professionalism or hospitality, especially considering we had just walked in and intended to spend time and money there. What surprised me most was how little value seemed to be placed on customer relationships. After the amount of business and loyalty I've shown to the brand over time, the interaction left me genuinely questioning whether I'll return at all. The contrast between the welcoming atmosphere at Point Hope and the experience downtown was significant and disappointing.
