I visited Krazy Owls for dinner last night to try the 1/2 price burger specials. Krazy Owls is located on Johns Island. There is plenty of parking since it is located in a plaza with other businesses. They offer both outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating area is spacious and really nice. It is covered and has an outdoor fireplace for cool evenings. Indoor is very quaint with lots of heavy wooden tables and chairs. There are all different kinds of Owls in the dining area crafted out of different materials. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss burger and fries. It was a nice size burger cooked the way I like it with lots of cheese and mushrooms. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. The service was excellent. It appeared to be a relaxed vibe where locals come to enjoy a meal with each other. I would recommend that you give Krazy Owls a try. They have daily specials at a nice price. After the Kiawah Island 1/2 marathon we stopped here for a post race meal. The server was unsure of the beers on tap then come to find out they only had 3 (meanwhile they were located next to a well known local brewery). We ate at Krazy Owls today on our summer road trip. 3PM on a tuesday. We entered to the sounds of power tools in the kitchen. The waitress was attentive and professional. After we ordered, I guess they started using some sort of adhesive in the kitchen because suddenly there was an overpowering chemical smell. Amazing little hometown bar. Went on a Saturday night for drinks and live music. Very talented duo playing covers. Got the munchies as night went on and ordered Buffalo wings. The wings were OUTSTANDING!!! I was so surprised. Originally from Buffalo, I know what a good wing is! Perfect size (not too big/not too small) and great sauce options. They even double fried them for us - extra crispy - so good. Bartender named Josh was running the place from behind the bar without missing a beat. Place was packed and no one had an empty bottle or wine glass for more than 10 seconds. He was super congenial and kept us laughing. The bloody Mary was garnished with a crisp piece of bacon. I love a good eggs Benedict, and I'm always hesitant to order it if I suspect the hollandaise won't be homemade. Our bartender assured me it was made fresh, so I took a chance and I'm glad I did. The eggs were poached perfectly and the hollandaise was delicious. Probably bought in, but fab nonetheless. Peanut butter pie was better than some. Crust was too thick and slightly gritty. Desserts are overpriced, but sandwiches are about the usual. Good service, nice staff. Accommodating to pets (brought out neighboring tables dog biscuits and water bowls), and tolerant of bratty kids, of which there were PLENTY. I'd come back! read more

First visit on a slow Monday. Not their fault, but we decided on our own to eat outside. Unfortunately, the "no see-ums" [gnats] were enjoying us as a meal as we enjoyed theirs. The Kobb (with a K) salad here at Krazy Owls was topped with chicken and was filling and delicious, served in a slanted bowl (what do they call them, really?). A manager came out to make us feel welcome, joke around and left us after finding out that our waitress was doing a fine job such that we did not need anything else. A good time at a good place with a good meal. Add this one to your list, as it is now on mine. Fridays they have a live band outside and there is an outside bar and plenty of seating outside. The perfect local dive -- my husband and I thoroughly enjoy visits to Krazy Owls for any occasion. We've had brunch several times (which is awesome). Menu prices during brunch are extremely reasonable, the variety is great, service is fast and the bloody mary bar is the best! We've also visited for dinner several times; my go-to is the Owlfredo (see what they did there?) which is delicious and has the best sauce to pasta ratio ever. Shrimp and Grits are also delicious there as well and I've tried a couple of their salads. On the weekends when the weather is nice out they also have local bands which makes it a great place to hang out for some drinks on a Friday or Saturday night. Krazy Owls is exactly the type of establishment you'd want close to your house (and we sure are thankful to have it close to ours!). read more

To drink, I asked the server what coffee options they had. She said all they had was "French press." I also asked if they had flavor creamers, no. I got the coffee anyway. French press is like whoa! A French press! She brought it out with a coffee mug, sugars, and a tiny pitcher of creamer. She told me to wait about 1-5 minutes, and then press down slowly on it until it stops. It didn't taste particularly amazing, but it was really cool to have on the table and to press myself! To eat, I ordered the pot roast. I got a size large since it's Yelp Restaurant Week and I get 30% off my food anyway. The meat was so tender!! Surprisingly tender! The rest of the dish was also pretty delicious. I probably would have preferred some pieces of potato rather than mashed potato, but it was still good! The service was excellent! The server was on top of everything we needed and she was very friendly. Also, the manager was checking on us and other tables and talked to us at the end for a bit. I recommended to him he offer check in deals all the time to get more people in the door!! Overall, I would definitely come back here and recommend this place to anyone!
