I went there for the arcade games and really enjoyed myself. There was a good selection of games. The bartender was very friendly. I will definitely go back the next time I visit.

Sunday pool tables are unbusy... everyone's by the bar watching football!

The Break is the best place for a game of pool on James Island (Cha Cha's used to be my favorite, but sadly it closed). They have 4 pool tables, plus video games, hoops, skeeball, and air hockey. There is plenty of seating at the bar as well as at tables and booths. They have a number of large TVs if there is a big game to watch. Outside there is a patio with seating as well. Nothing fancy, but everything you need for a chill night. The bartenders and staff are all very friendly here. I typically only drink and play pool here (a very bad game of pool, but I play!) so I'm not sure how all of the food is. The only food I have ordered is chicken fingers and they were decent. Nothing to write home about, but not bad at all. Overall, one of my favorite bars on James Island!

Nice sports pub. Tons of TV's and big screens. Great seating and layout. Sports-pub-ish decor but cleaner. Very friendly, smiling and welcoming staff. Totally a plus and gives that 'we wanna come back here' vibe. My husband and I popped in for a Sunday afternoon snack and to watch football. The place was empty when we first got there, but filled up quickly just before the game started. The staff were cool about putting the TV in front of us at the bar, to the game we wanted. The bench seats/booths all have their own TV's. (I forgot to ask if they get NHL games...) Lots of pool tables on the left as soon as you walk in, great variety of seating from tall tables, to lower ones, benches and bar seating. Table hockey, driving, basketball and pin ball games make it a really fun place for groups. They even have Ms. Packman stand up video game! The beer was cold, there is a good variety of spirits to choose from. The menu was average as far as choices/variety. Your typical (and well-loved) choices of burgers, sandwiches, finger-foods and basic salads. My husband had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with fries, and I had the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus (with cuke slices and celery sticks). My husband was satisfied with his burger/sandwich but said it could've been a big more generous with the fries. My hummus was good, nothing special (from a container maybe?). I would have liked it to have more bite/flavour and maybe offer a more colorful choice of veg. As far as vegan eats, only the garden salad (omit cheese etc) or the hummus fit the bill.) I have to say that the veggies were VERY fresh in both meals and fun presentation. :) You can look at their menu on their website. Good dollar value for the food. Parking was okay. As I said, we got there and there were not many people. The lot is shared with other businesses so it could get busy. There is an outdoor area for smokers, but it seems smokers also congregate in front of the main doors. Bathrooms were totally in need of a good cleaning, specially the walls/doors, inside the stalls. The rest of the bar (our spot at the bar, the floors, the lights and main entrance) were nice and clean. In order for me to give this place more stars: More variety of food choices....maybe deserts and a "The Break Signature Item"? Also, cleaner bathrooms for sure, and maybe a live performer?

    Fun and games.

The break is my home. The best nights of our lives have been spent here... wish they would bring back bubble hockey

Stopped in mid day on Saturday and didn't have a reservation and had to wait about 15 minutes which isn't too bad. You can walk around the hotel while you wait. They had a specialty fall cocktail menu which was super cool. I ordered the Haunted Market Street Margarita and it was amazing. It had charcoal simple syrup and lava salt which gave it such an interesting flavor. We shared the Pimento cheese appetizer and I am so glad we ordered. It was so good and the presentation was beautiful. I don't normally enjoy pimento but I did here. My parents shared the turkey club and said it was great. Will always stop by when I'm in Charleston. Great place to watch a game if you can get a seat at the bar.

It made the whole experience feel effortless. One of the coolest parts of the bar is their fun tradition of letting guests write on dollar bills and staple them to the walls. Overall, it's just a great hangout spot with good vibes, great prices, and a team that knows how to make you feel welcome. Highly recommend stopping by with friends or a big group.

The back opens up to another bar with outdoor seating, very cool. The bartender out back took our drinks, I forgot her name but she was from California originally, La Jolla area? My wife ordered the steak salad and the steak was overcooked, but when asked how things were, they were quick to make it right, and brought out another steak to fix the issue. 5 stars! I hope they see this review and know that they are doing something right. I do wish they had better merch. I wanted to buy stuff but was told their shirts shrink quite a bit after washing. Bummer.

A group of about 8 of us went out for drinks Saturday (5/2/26). We were having a great time (respectful, quiet, not causing a problem). Last call hit at 1:30 so we decided one more drink before we went our ways home. 10 mins later we're were asked to leave the courtyard and head inside - not a problem. We will finish our drinks inside. 5 minutes after that, we were asked to take our last sips and leave. 15 mins before the posted closing time. Again, we weren't causing a problem, weren't loud, weren't disruptive. This was a group of 8, most of us well into our 40s (or older). But they were telling all guests to leave at 1:45a?? Just after we bought drinks? The posted hours say they close at 2a. Not 1:45a. Most of us left half finished drinks. The large bouncer was nice enough, the tiny one in a hoodie with glasses was totally unprofessional. So beware. The Blind Tiger has what it takes to remain a Charleston institution. Their staff, might ruin that chance.
