The beertenders were so fun and helpful with our orders and we tried so many different things but the seltzer are still our favorites! It's a charming and chill brewery out on John's island. I go to a lot of breweries and it's not often that I go to one that I wish was in my city so I could go all the time. Low Tide had that perfect mix of a cool atmosphere and good beer. I liked the overall feel of the place and the service was good as well. My favorite was the creamsicle sour. My only negative is that it started getting overrun by tiny kids running around. I wish parents would stop using breweries as childcare. At this point we decided to leave but hope to come back and find less kids. read more

Loved their beer! They had this sports drink seltzer that sounded pretty weird at first but I was a believer at first sip. They had a food truck out front too (Chicken Fats that day). They have plenty of outdoor seating including a fire pit and low table bench seating. They have indoor seating as well, and you can order at the bar from both inside and outside. This is such a fun little spot. There is a ton of parking, tons of seating, both indoor and outdoor, and the staff is always great, no matter how busy they are. They often have tasty food trucks and they have small snacks available at the bar. There is a fire pit outside and really nice outdoor space. They have a nice variety of beer choices, as well as a couple of seltzers, and sometimes a frozen option. Didn't expect to like their blue quencher seltzer, but it's so light and refreshing! There is a wide variety of beers to choose from. We decided to do a flight of beers. We selected 12 different beers to sample. Was not disappointed with any of them. If you don't like a specific beer, they will replce it with something you do like. If you're hungry, they have snacks you can purchase, or there is a food truck on the property. When I first came here I wasn't impressed. I'd been there probably twice and the beers were good but completely different each time. I went to another local brewery and they became my spot. I got talked into giving Low Tide another chance and I couldn't be happier that I did. They've firmed up their core beer menu while still having amazing rotating brews. The vibe is awesome as well. Their beer selection is maybe more limited than some other breweries in the area but still a solid collection. Skews a bit away from your wheats and golden ales if that's what you're looking for, keep in mind. I've been here twice now and both times had such great experiences! They have some staple beers always on tap and rotate seasonal delicious brews as well. Personally, I'm a sucker for sour/fruited beers and this brewery by far has exceeded my expectations. This time we had the mango slurpee sour & Carolina creamsicle (last year they had it with a nitro version and it was AMAZING). I usually steer away from smoothie sours because they tend to be heavy but this one was light and super tasty. Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. Insider tip: the mango slurpee sour is the base of the tropical sour they have but with added mangos. Both times I've been they've had a different food truck. It's always a nice option to have something to munch on while enjoying brews! My only request is that they had more of a merchandise selection! We wanted to take some merch home but unfortunately they didn't have much of a selection in store. We were told there was more online but definitely not the case. This place is always a "must swing by" when in Charleston. Can't wait to come back! read more

Recently, a fellow Yelp Elite (Sarah B.) and I met up for a beer at Low Tide. I've been here in the past, but not since the COVID-19 pandemic started- and I was satisfied with the safety precautions. Masks were required when standing (not seated/drinking), and the brewery has plenty of space to spread out and drink outdoors. I was glad to see a large covered area so we weren't sitting in the hot sun. Low Tide has indoor seating, but since it was a beautiful day, we opted for outside. The beer I had was called Salt of the South. It's an imperial fruited gose that features sea salt with a tangy tart ale, tangerine peel and purée, plus agave for a refreshing balance. It has a 9% ABV, so one pint was enough for me, but that one pint was enjoyable. Along with my beer, I eyed some of the merchandise inside and was impressed. Most breweries sell t-shirt and glasses, but I loved that Low Tide has candles, hats, and even long-sleeved tech shirts. The t-shirt designs are cool, and they offer women's cut in several styles. Low Tide doesn't have a kitchen, but food trucks visit. Both times I've been, Rebel Taqueria was the food truck. If there's no truck, the area has plenty of great restaurants. You may need some food to soak up your beer. All in all, both of my visits to Low Tide were wonderful, and it's not far from my home. If you're on your way to Kiawah/Seabrook or on Johns Island, don't miss Low Tide! read more

I am so glad that I finally made it out to low tide. What a fun experience! Every beer that I had (I'm an IPA girlie) was on point and so was the service. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved the merchandise too. We were only disappointed to see that they didn't have anything in his size. This place was absolutely slam packed when we went. You can tell how much people in the area area love this brewery, and now I see why. The night we went there was also a very delicious pizza food truck. Great environment with live music and a variety of food trucks. Its a great place to hang out casually, listen to music. I had their sour Love Tap at a whopping 10.8%, good flavor and not too sour. Their Aloha Beaches at 5% is a pineapple wheat beer, but I didn't really get a hint of pineapple, the beer is reminiscent of a Shock Top, which I like. I went to their Hawaiian party, it was fun very busy, but despite that, they served everyone quickly, I didn't struggle to get my drinks or to close my tab. The staff was efficient and friendly. Good tip if you go on a nice day, the area is full of gnats and I got bitten a lot, not the locations fault, we live in the south, so make sure you properly spray bug spray in order to prevent discomfort for a week. I definitely will go again with more bug spray and ready to try more and take better pictures. read more

They always have about 8-10 different beers that change periodically. I like that because it is always a new and exciting experience. I treated some out of town friends to Low Tide this weekend. We did a flight of beer. You get to choose 5 beers to try. Then you can buy a bigger size of the one or two you like best...lol. The staff is super helpful to help you select a beer you will enjoy. They even offer small samples to try before you buy. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Tours of the Brewery are available certain days of the week. Inside they have logo merchandise that is colorful and fun! They serve snacks like peanuts and pretzels to go with the beer. If you are hungry they offer food trucks outside near the outdoor seating. First time here and not sure why we waited so long! We came for the oyster roast! These were the cleanest oysters we have ever had! They were cooked just right and the cocktail sauce was amazing... just enough bite from the horseradish! @the smoking pot! The staff were super friendly and so accommodating ... we could not have asked for better service. Love the beer!! We tried several different beer. It would be hard to pick a favorite but I sure did enjoy the Cocoa en Fuego. It was rich with chocolate with notes of cinnamon and vanilla and alittle kick. So good!! First, clarifying, I do not drink beer, and I don't like beer. But, I love this place, and all who are drinking the beers seem to enjoy them a lot. However, they did have a pomegranate/plum sour that was delicious. This is a fun place to hang out, especially on rescue dog day. Lots of really nice people all loving on some cute dogs. Not sure if they keep their website calendar up to date, but it helps to know if it is a 'rescue' day and also exactly which food truck is there. I've not seen that the site has been kept up to date...which is a disservice to customers. But, I'll bring my two adopted babies and visit with all the others....and meet some nice folks. read more
