    First brewery of vaca

Lo-Fi Brewing is not the easiest place to find. It is located behind an auto salvage yard with nearly zero visibility from the main road. I noticed the tops of some picnic table umbrellas over the tops of some junked cars on the third time we drove past the same spot. Finally we noticed a small pink & white unicorn sign that said "Lo Fi". The brewery itself is set in an old car repair garage. No air conditioning but the multiple, large open garage doors and numerous fans helped. There is a small bar and seating area around a stage. Outside was a large "patio" with multiple tables and umbrellas, again surrounded by junked cars. Their beers were good but really nothing stood out except for the Mexican Lager.

We decided to check Lo-Fi out one Sunday afternoon. Definitely use your GPS to find, and just turn into it. The building is a warehouse type, with garage door entrance. The interior is modest in appearance, with several picnic tables available in the middle. The bar is small, maybe seats 6, and is set right next to the cooler. There's no a.c. but they have huge fans blowing around. And there was some decent 80s rock music playing. The beer, well it was good! Maybe 6 different ones on tap, we chose the Mexican lager and the Belgian triple. Dang that Belgian triple was smooth, crisp and so drinkable. We liked the Mexican lager too. Overall it's a micro-brewery just making good beer. No nonsense, easy going atmosphere that is drawing a crowd. Check them out. We will be back.

If you're wondering to yourself "I am in the middle of nowhere beside a towing company, there's no sign, is this really where the brewery is?" The answer is yes, please still go and check it out. LoFi is a microbrew that had 5 beers on tap when we were there last Thursday. They're located in a decently sized warehouse that has a number of picnic tables inside and good music playing. There are a couple picnic tables outside as well, but not much of a view to look at (mostly cranes and tow trucks). What they lack in location and view they MORE than make up for with their beers. The Glitter Pony is so incredibly drinkable and fruity yet is 8.4%. It's my favorite beer in Charleston--I tried it at a restaurant the day before and told my husband he had to try it too, hence why we ended up at the brewery the next day. The Blueberry (which is also available in local restaurants) and the IPA are both fantastic too (this coming from someone who really isn't a huge fan of IPAs). It's definitely got a quirky, chill, slightly weird feel, but those beers are way too good to pass up. They're doing great work here.

My favorite brewery in town. The Mexican lager is on point. Industrial atmosphere and plenty of space to hangout. There's also a really sweet kitty hanging out on the property.

They may only have five beers on tap, but all five are tasty. This industrial space is used well and I look forward to seeing what they do in the future and how far they can go. Don't be put off by the parking lot, it is a real brewery. While I can't say I'd spend an afternoon here, it's definitely worth a stop. Plus, you gotta love a place that uses a pink unicorn as their mascot

IPAs are delicious and reasonably priced. Saw a band at their brewery and had a great time.

Another beer, the "Glitter Pony," is a incredibly well made Belgian tripel (so much banana and clove).

Zero complaints. Solid brewery. Good beers AND good food!…read more My husband and I sat at the bar for lunch. I got the "Out at Third" which is a Belgian tripel beer. It tasted light and was easy to drink despite the high ABV. I loved it! For lunch, I ordered buffalo wings and a side of fries. Both were better than expected; wings had great flavor and fries were crispy. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out :)

Frothy Beard in Charleston has great food, but the service definitely needs some improvement…read more They always seem a bit understaffed, and items are often forgotten. I actually did an event with them where they walk around and take vendor orders--which is such a smart idea--but I ordered an iced tea and never received it. That said, the food itself was delicious. I had a wrap and fries, and both were really good. If I were rating based on food alone, it would easily be a 5/5. Service-wise, they don't bring out napkins or extras, which is something to note. However, they do have plenty of outdoor seating, making it a great spot to bring your pup and hang out. The ambiance inside is really nice--it's a large space with a relaxed vibe, and there's also a big parking lot, which is convenient. Overall, I'm rating it lower for now due to service, but I'd definitely come back and hope to update this review next time!
