Our bartender here was absolutely incredible, very friendly & informative! We came here for the beer but also the food truck since we're vegetarian & they had some good options but we were highly disappointed to find out that they closed early the night we got there. They literally shut their doors as we walked up & said they were closed even though the internet & their sign said they'd be open for another 45 minutes. Luckily our bartender gave us some great recommendations. We were a 1 & done due to that. Wish we didn't have a bad experience but everything happens for a reason. The 1 beer I had was good. Parking is small so beware!

Haven't been here in awhile and it's always nice to visit with a cold OG Huger street IPA! They've got huge tin tacks for those brewery enthusiasts!

Love this place!!! Perfect weekend spot to enjoy football and some live music! Today they had a fun cover band! The service is always spectacular. There is 10+ beers on tap as well as seltzers, ciders, wines, hard ginger beers and a variety of non alcoholic drinks. Resident food truck outside was delicious food!

I can here today with a friend and my baby to check out the fall vegan market! There were so many great vendors. I have enjoyed Palmetto Brewing beers before but finally got to do so at the actual brewery! Lots of space outside although we opted to sit inside. I had the Oktoberfest which was really good. This place is kid friendly and I also appreciated that the JMU game was on!

Very familiar with Palmetto beer from being so accessible around Charleston, but our first time at the physical location. Absolutely didn't disappoint! SO much space - from the outside area, to the back bar and the front space, which was set up with local vendors in the Saturday we came. Especially loved being able to bring our dog and see other furry friends as well. Staff was so chill and looked like they were having so fun behind the bar which always add to the energy!

Palmetto has a great selection of brews and is one of the "original" Charleston breweries. It's South Carolina's oldest brewery, so it's been around long before "brewery districts" and brewery trams that run on Saturday. You'll find any style of beer here, including several small batch/limited edition brews (10 oz. pours). On my last visit, I had the small-batch Blackberry sour and really enjoyed it. A new food truck called Gobble Gobble has taken up residency here, replacing the rotating food trucks that used to park out front. Events wise, Palmetto hosts lots of craft/maker's markets, and they have live music as well as trivia on certain nights of the week. I'm not sure if there's a happy hour, but certain pints are discounted (I believe $4) before 4 PM. That makes Palmetto a great place to start drinking- and you can't drink all night if you don't start early. The only downside to Palmetto is the parking/flooding situation. The parking lot is underneath an overpass, so if it rains, it is very muddy and your car and shoes will get dirty. In addition, Huger street is known to flood, but if it's a sunny day, Palmetto is a must-visit for any beer fan.

A lively brewery with a speakeasy side room and outside patio offers delicious beer and a fair price. I was impressed with their varieties and the quality of their beer. If you want whiskey their location is great because hi-wire distillery is right next door. Check them both out during your next trip to Charleston.

Great brewery tucked away in a quiet part of Charleston. We enjoyed hanging inside and playing games while enjoying some IPAs. Lots of other options as well! The outdoor beer garden was great for a nice day and is dog friendly!

Goated Togo beers. I recommend the mango passionfruit season sour. $12 for 6 beers. This is the greatest deal of all time.

Dog friendly, plenty of indoor seating, lots of options for beer, including some guest taps. Flights, half pours, and full pours available. Great beer, especially the pumpkin ones during the fall!

When we stopped into Palmetto Brewery it was very hot and sunny; nearly all indoor seating was taken and shaded outdoor seating was taken. The indoor section was not air-conditioned so it was not overly comfortable to hang out to drink. We had just one pint as it really was hot and sticky. Palmetto was the first microbrewery in Charleston. We had the Lowcountry Lager, it was a good beer with a nice finish but nothing too special. I generally prefer IPAs and Porters but it was too hot to drink one. Overall, we liked the facility and the Lager was good but Palmetto needs another visit and more time spent there.

So many great beers of draft!

Great place to grab a beer and hang with friends!! Bartenders are amazing and so friendly! Live music on weekends, trivia on Tuesdays, and music bingo on Thursdays!

Ask the Community - Palmetto Brewing Co

Do they serve food?

They don't have a menu. I believe they might serve soft pretzels and cheese and have occasional food trucks.

Zero complaints. Solid brewery. Good beers AND good food!…read more My husband and I sat at the bar for lunch. I got the "Out at Third" which is a Belgian tripel beer. It tasted light and was easy to drink despite the high ABV. I loved it! For lunch, I ordered buffalo wings and a side of fries. Both were better than expected; wings had great flavor and fries were crispy. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out :)

Frothy Beard in Charleston has great food, but the service definitely needs some improvement…read more They always seem a bit understaffed, and items are often forgotten. I actually did an event with them where they walk around and take vendor orders--which is such a smart idea--but I ordered an iced tea and never received it. That said, the food itself was delicious. I had a wrap and fries, and both were really good. If I were rating based on food alone, it would easily be a 5/5. Service-wise, they don't bring out napkins or extras, which is something to note. However, they do have plenty of outdoor seating, making it a great spot to bring your pup and hang out. The ambiance inside is really nice--it's a large space with a relaxed vibe, and there's also a big parking lot, which is convenient. Overall, I'm rating it lower for now due to service, but I'd definitely come back and hope to update this review next time!

Wow! This place is amazing! As someone who recently discovered they have a soybean oil allergy,…read morethis place is a gold mine! That's one of the reasons my husband and I came here on a Saturday before the Stingrays game because it's near the collussium. It looks like it's kind of hidden off the road pulling up There is also a huge parking lot across the street. Lots of tables outside and by the downstairs grass area, but they fill up quick. Also very dog friendly and kid friendly. They had Cornhole and frisbee for games. Inside there is a large bar and table seating. You order up at the bar area. Btw they don't have soybean oil in anything, not the buns or sides and they even fry in beef tallow. So I ordered a single cheese burger with the special sauce as well as a side of crispy potatoes. I also got a glass of wine, which I was happy they had wine as an option ...not all breweries do that. My husband got the double cheeseburger with a side of crispy potatoes and a beer. We came around 430pm and sat by the benches below because the upstairs tables were full already so come early. They give you a number so they can easily find you. The food came fast, and it was delicious. The burger had lots of flavor and was the perfect size. The potatoes fried in beef tallow were crispy and delicious. It was my first time trying something fried in beef tallow and I can confirm it does not make it taste beefy Needless to say we will definitely be back!!

Still love this place! I hope they can continue to post food specials on socials every week. We…read morehappen to go during a festival so our favorite carpaccio was not available.
