My boyfriend and I live in central Florida and visited during a weekend getaway at Revelry Brewing for the first time in September 2024. We had the best service from the bartender on the rooftop! Chicken Parmesan quesadilla was so delicious. We were excited to return back for our second visit in May 2026. We still enjoyed our experience but had several off-putting experiences with the two employees working. When we arrived around 845pm on Saturday, we ordered drinks at the main bar downstairs and started to order our food. The bartender asked where we'd be sitting and we suggested the rooftop. He declined taking our food order saying it would be too hard to find us and instead order with the bartender upstairs. We walked up the stairs to the rooftop and my boyfriend went to order our food and the bartender gave him attitude saying he should have ordered the food downstairs when he opened his tab. He explained that the man downstairs suggested otherwise, she said fine and took the order. They were out of the chicken parm quesadilla sadly so we ordered the roni Jabroni pizza and disco fries. Food arrived in adequate time and was really good. After our meal we wanted to check out the merch downstairs. We went to the bartender at rooftop to let her know we were going to head back downstairs to check out merch and order last drink and asked if it was okay to close our tab downstairs, also asking what time last call was. She said yes and mentioned that last call was 10:30 since they close at 11 (it was 955pm at this point). We get back downstairs and my boyfriend was excited to buy a hat he looked at previously and went up to bar to order his last beer. The same man from earlier before even greeting us mentioned it was already past last call since they were closing. We mentioned that bartender upstairs had just told us that last call was 10:30 and it was just a few minutes before 10. He scoffed and said fine I have things to do so I can give you one more. We decided to just close out tab without ordering another drink or getting the hat. Really disappointed by the attitude of both workers. A just ok place for me. My favorite part of this brewery was their different music they play. The layout is a little confusing on where to enter the building. I mean, the view from the top deck is quite lovely and a reminder how flat Charleston is. The stairs are a delightful reminder not to drink too much because tripping on those on the way down would be a catastrophe. The vibe is an industrial, working setting. No frills, just a place to hang out with one's friends and co-workers. I was grateful to see bathrooms on the top deck as the idea of walking down and up again seemed a bit exhausting. They have a wide selection of beers and a limited selection of wines. This is not atypical of breweries since most people come for the beer, not the wine. I don't drink beer so I sipped on a perfectly good glass of Pinot. It was good! I can see the appeal to Revelry, especially as a spot to hang out. read more

We were lured in by promises of the live band and rooftop bar. This place has a pretty cool concept. Bar on the bottom, permanent food truck fixture and then a sweet rooftop bar with chill vibes up top. We just wanted to have a few beers and soak in the summer air upstairs and after a few mins got a table and dug in for some food truck sushi and apps that exceeded our expectations. Place had a good organized and streamlined area to order and keep people moving. It was one of the better venues that was a lil more relaxed and less formal which we liked. The bartenders let us sample a few to settle on our picks. We enjoyed the night and will come back next time. Such a great time, great people and even better brews! Oh geez, we arrived and were instantly made feel welcome. Our beer slinger made some great suggestions and we kicked back and enjoyed those gorgeous breezes running through the brewery. Since we love to visit breweries, we decided to walk to the next brewery and try some of theirs. Not bad, but it was just not The Revelry brews and atmosphere. We absolutely love Revelry! It's definitely one of our favorite breweries in Charleston. 1. The rooftop is amazing! There's a bar with a slightly different draft list than downstairs, couches and bar stools for seating and bathrooms. The only problem is there's no elevator and the rooftop is only accessible by climbing about 25 stairs. 2. The beer is on point! They have about 10 things on tap upstairs and even more downstairs. The Achtung berry sour is my favorite! It's bright pink and has great flavor. There's always a few IPAs on the list, as well as some out of the box flavors like lemongrass. My firmed got the seltzer (in a can) and said it was one of the best she's had. 3. The location is convenient. Perfect for people coming from downtown, Mt. Pleasant or North Charleston. We had brunch downtown and came for beers afterwards. It was perfect to be nearby. We planned to go to different breweries but our spot on the couch made us stay for a few hours! Tips: They do have a permanent food truck outside (we've never tried the food) They are super dog friendly even up on the rooftop. Parking is all street parking. Rooftop bars are where it's at during these COVID times, and Revelry does it well. We began our visit by ordering from the tasting room on the ground floor. There was a DJ on the rooftop, and we wanted to enjoy our beers and some conversation before checking it out. I ordered the Never Sunny New England IPA on draft, and my boyfriend ordered the Lazy Lover Belgian Blonde Ale which was canned. I'm a big fan of hazy IPAs, and this one did not disappoint. It was deliciously juicy, and the blonde was pretty tasty too! After a couple beers we climbed the stairs to enjoy the DJ on the roof and get one last beer that we shared. We rounded out our tab by ordering the Poke the Bear, which is a typical amber ale that reminds me of Red Oak. The atmosphere was really chill and the view was beautiful with a park across the street. Deservedly so it was pretty busy, but we managed to find room for ourselves in the corner by the bar. They had oscillating heaters above the bar for cooler nights and lots of TV to watch the game. If you're hungry there's a permanent food truck on site that serves tacos and sushi. read more

Revelry Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Charleston, South Carolina in 2014. It was founded by business partners Sean Fleming, Jay Daratony, and head brewer Ryan Coker. Fleming spent his entire life in Charleston and developed an interest in opening a brewery while studying business at the College of Charleston. He teamed up with Coker (from Seneca, SC) who had experience as a home-brewer. Daratony (from Ann Arbor, Michigan) joined the team as the financial side of the business and also to ensure quality control. After finding a location on Conroy Street, Fleming took over the construction of the brewery while the other partners continued at their day jobs. Their hard work payed off when they opened to the public. After a successful few years, the partners opened a second location dubbed "The Hold" on nearby Romney Street in 2018. This location focused on producing sour, wild, and barrel-aged beers. Unfortunately the Hold's lease expired in June 2022 and the partners decided to close it down. It may reopen at a new location in the future. I recently visited Revelry Brewing while I was on an East Coast Road Trip. My family and I were visiting our cousins who live in Summerville (right outside of Charleston). I was very excited because I've wanted to visit the area's brewery scene for years. I stopped by on a Thursday evening and the place had a decent crowd. The downstairs taproom was pretty quiet, but quite a crowd was gathering at their upstairs rooftop bar. I ordered a flight of four which consisted of an IPA, a Brett IPA, a New England IPA and an Imperial Pastry Stout. All of them were very tasty. I was also pretty hungry and Revelry just happens to have their own food truck permanently located on the premises. I decided to order a few small dishes including the Tempura Shrimp with Boom-Boom Sauce, Crab Wontons, and the Sushi Burrito. Everything was delicious! Before leaving, I ordered some can pours of "Play Money" (New England IPA) and "Back Off Warchild" (Double West Coast IPA). Those were my favorite beers of the evening. Overall, I had a nice experience at Revelry Brewing and would definitely stop again on a return trip to the area. read more

Revelry Brewing tops my list of Charleston-area breweries for a few reasons. First, it's a great brewery for those of us who aren't big beer fans, as they have one of the better wine selections for a brewery. Revelry also has the best food of the breweries, brought to you by the Tobo Sushi Truck. The truck is permanently at Revelry and offers specials on tacos and sushi on various nights of the week. I love the unique food offerings like the sushi burrito. Second, Revelry is just a fun place to hang out! I went there on July 4 with a group of friends, and that rooftop bar was great for watching fireworks- we saw fireworks from both North Charleston and Mt. Pleasant. The outdoor area downstairs is dog-friendly, but there's indoor seating as well at the bar. No matter the weather, Revelry's a great spot. Third, there's tons of parking and it's all right across the street. I've always felt safe with my car parked in their lot, and the location is convenient to Mt. Pleasant, Charleston, and North Charleston if you have friends who want to meet up for a beer. If you haven't checked out Revelry, what are you waiting for? It's well worth it. read more

The venue is well done, still has a nice real small-business feel to it while being spacious and fun. This was a nice spot! Removed from the main road and popular neighborhoods, so it really is its own little laid-back oasis. Good amount of tables on the first floor (all outdoor, though most of them covered to some degree), plus lots of seating on their rooftop deck. It was a chill scene and dog friendly. I'm not a beer person so I won't speak to that, but I can speak to their food truck! It's a permanent installation with a menu (that might take you a beat to find) which I can best describe as Asian/Mexican. Not Asian-Mexican fusion...just Asian, and also Mexican lol. Their sushi burrito had RAVE reviews but I didn't want something that heavy - just a taco or two sounded perfect. Ordered one at a time (nice that you can order them individually), they were fast to come out, a little larger than street tacos, and chock full of good ingredients and flavor. I liked my first one so much I ordered a second one, based on the bartender's recommendation. My wife found this place because she saw that there was half price sushi on Wednesday's. We arrived sometime around when a happy hour would be, but we're notified that the deal was all day. I tried a couple beers and ended up ordering the Brunch & Blondes and trying the Breakfast Stout. All great beers that we tried. The bar tender was very friendly. She let us know that if we wanted to order food, we could do so at the bar or upstairs at the rooftop seating. Since we had a sleeping baby (in a stroller) we couldn't make it up there but would love to return to check it out. My wife ordered some sushi, which wasn't very impressive, but hey, it was $6 per roll. The beers were also $6 each, which I found to be cheaper than most breweries around. Revelry Brewing was on my list to visit in Charleston recently. My husband and I decided to go up to the rooftop to drink a beer and see the views. There are several stairs to climb. We ordered the Belgian beer Nice Wit and fortunately found a small table with two chairs. This is a very popular spot on a Friday evening and I can see why. The beer and the views are great!
