It was a cold and rainy night... but we were determined to bring our pup to dinner. Edmund's Oast has a dog friendly covered patio, the Bower, that kept us dry and a little warm on a cold winter evening. There's a separate menu at the Bower than dining in the main dining room - but we got to try exactly what we wanted. Order food and drink at the bar - we didn't have a server. But first off, drinks. We started with some cocktails - The Red Wedding and How About One. Both were boozy and tasty. I particularly enjoyed the Red Wedding's hibiscus tea ice cubes! We wanted something simple but hearty - the fried chicken meal was perfect for that. We chose the Garlic Crab flavored 2-piece meal (which comes with collards and pasta salad) and also ordered the chicken combo (which was a daily special that day). Both were fantastic and perfect for a cold day. And of course, we don't leave a meal with a sweet treat. The snickerdoodle cookie sandwich was the perfect way to end the night. I was also curious about the Peanut Butter & Jelly beer, a lactose beer. It really did remind me of a PBJ, in a creamy and pleasant way. Hopefully the next time I'm back in town, it won't be so freaking cold LOL and we can enjoy the outdoor patio in better weather. Because the food and drinks are definitely worth it!
I visited on a Thursday night and the place was packed! We ordered the fried chicken, catfish, mac & peas, and mushroom & noodles -- every dish was comforting yet had its own twist. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy without being greasy, the catfish was tender and flavorful, the mac & peas was creamy with just the right amount of bite, and the mushroom & noodles had a rich, earthy flavor that made it impossible to stop eating. What makes this spot stand out is the story and atmosphere. The space feels both polished and welcoming, and whether you're seated inside at a booth or out in the sunny patio (The Bower), it's a place you'll want to keep returning to. Service was warm and attentive and the drink list was just as thoughtfully crafted as the food. I left already planning my next visit -- there are so many other menu items I want to try.
I've been wanting to try this restaurant so we stopped in on Saturday. First, it took us 10-15 minutes just to find the entrance. Nice atmosphere on the inside and the staff is also very friendly and conduct themselves as professionals. Now, let's get into this Chicken!! The chicken was beautiful and fried perfectly to perfection but the only disappointment was the lack of SEASONING! If you're selling fried chicken, it needs to be able to stand on its own without the sauces! Once I dipped it in sauce it was much better but I'm just not a dipper. As far as the sides went, both the collards & the pasta salad were screaming for SUGAR & SALT!! I'm from Charleston and we put sugar in our greens & mayonnaise based salads. Again, cooked to perfection but lacked seasoning. I blamed myself for not having a pack of sugar in my purse and the salt shaker on the table didn't have much in it so can I get some salt around here!!
Cute spot. Service was a little slow, but they had a large table. I had the Korean meatballs and they were tasty. I also tried a sour coconut lime beer that was good. Cheesecake was tasty as well. Plenty of beer choices! 48 drafts listed on wall. Cocktails are also available. I would recommend!
Great food, efficient service, and a nicely maintained and well managed outdoor area, The Bower, where you can get food before 5 when the restaurant opens for dinner. The softshell crab sandwich with papaya salad was excellent, a perfectly prepared crispy fried crab in black pepper tempura, ripe tomato slices, a bit of mayo or some dressing and a good fresh roll. There's a selection of wine, a THC seltzer. and ciders besides beer.
We just came in from out of town looking for an elevated casual dinner and definitely made the right choice with Edmund's. We had their whole fish special, mac and peas, crispy potatoes, and bok choy. All were delicious. Everything on the menu sounded good, I would come back to try more. Also the hostess is an angel.
I arrived at Edmund's Oast shortly after a full day of air travel delays. I hadn't eaten yet and was rabidly hangry. My friend and I decided to sit outside given the nice weather, and we ordered at the counter. The guy working was brand new and had some trouble with my light order modifications. I ordered the Italian sandwich plus a side of curly fries. Both were huge. I definitely overate. Everything was tasty though. After we had a couple beers outside and finished our meals/cleaned up after ourselves, we headed inside and sat at the large bar. The ambiance inside was so cool, but also the a/c was blasting, like it was genuinely frigid. We had a few beers there, all sours, but ended up bouncing after that because it was far too cold to be enjoyable. If you're looking for quality beer, be sure to check out Edmund's Oast. Just wear a sweater.
Real cool vibe both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor is full restaurant, outdoor more limited menu. Had the Korean 'meatballs, and the soft-shell crabs sandwich. All were delicious. Service was great. Peanut butter cup pie was great finisher to a great meal.
My family and I came here as a party of 8 and we were sat in Shane's section. She was wonderful and helped with great recommendations, gave plenty of time with the menu and looking over the drink menu. My family loved everything they ordered and one of the absolute favorites was the fried chicken! Everyone could not stop talking about how delicious it was. I personally was unable to try the other food due to my celiac disease but I spoke with Shane and she was super kind about finding options of what I could eat, I went with the salt chicken. I must say the dish was mainly rice, green curry and parsley but you get a cutlet of some kind of breading that's salty and does fall apart with very thin amount of chicken protein. I personally was not impressed with this dish but I would say the gluten free key lime pie is delicious and a must try!
Visited with friends, a group of 5 on a Tuesday night. While we had reservations, it did not appear they were needed. Here is what we liked: * Outdoor beer area was nice, had a drink while we waited for our last person to arrive. Service was quite good at the outdoor bar. * The salad as a main course are huge. Friend took most of hers home. * Drink selection was good. We enjoyed our cocktails. * The crispy garlic potatoes as a side were perfect. * The cooked cabbage side was delicious. * service was attentive and helpful. Here is what could of been better: * The collards were probably in the bottom 2 worse I've ever had. Just salty and not good. * The spicy Korean meatballs were incredibly dry, almost over cooked? * The pimento cheese plate was unique. Had nuts and stuff and in my opinion over complicated the cheese. Overall it was a nice night. I wish there were 1/2 stars as this was better than a 3 but not quite 4. Parts of the meal were outstanding and other parts were just mediocre. And for the price, it should be outstanding.
Tough review to decide on. Artisan Burger (7.5/10) - this is a good burger. It's a double patty with white American, bacon jam, shredded iceberg lettuce, white onion, jalapeño and mustard. The burger blend is good, the patties are thicker than a smash burger and had good seasoning and a good sear. They were cooked medium-well but still juicy. They were densely packed though, so they had a bit of a spongy texture. The bacon jam was almost nonexistent and imparted a little sweetness and no detectable bacon flavor. The burger could have used more. The white onion slices are cut too thick and can over power a bite. The jalapeños are a nice addition and weren't too spicy. Slightly disappointed given the hype. Fries (6/10) - a large basket of curly fries that could feed 3. That makes the $7 price reasonable if you are sharing, but ordering it just myself I would prefer less fries for a cheaper price or a homemade fry for that price. It's also strange to serve a frozen fry with an elevated/gourmet style burger.
Very nice brewery, a lot to choose from. Leather Jacket Porter and Heat Ray IPA were our choices, both quite nice. Huge outdoor patio with its own bar for busy times. Blue Crab hush puppies were excellent. LJ is a great beertender.

So good! Had my birthday dinner here and it was perfect spot to celebrate with my family. Menu had amazing options, we got our entrees and tried almost every side. The service was excellent, they wished me a happy birthday and our waitress gave us a thorough run down of the menu. It was our first time but it most definitely won't be our last! read more
Had it Ubered to my hotel late night after a flight, but even with the delivery, my food was still tasty and hot (where it needed to be). The garlic potatoes are absolutely worth getting. Anything that combines a sweet and salty pickled component over hot and crispy potatoes will always be ordered. I got the half crunchie salad with poached shrimp as well. The salad is as good, but they packed in so many greens, one cup of green goddess was not enough. The poached shrimp was not my favorite. Several were not cleaned, and the poaching liquid was extremely heavy on what I perceived was cloves or mace. Couldn't finish that, but still appreciated how good the food was, even delivered. read more
Edmonds OriginalThanksgiving Day Buffet did not disappoint. The staff were amazing and friendly. The service was great for such a busy day. The buffet was never empty. Wonderful variety of food to choose from. The Prime Rib was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. Many choices of side dishes including 2 types of rices, macaroni and cheese, stuffing. Crispy potatoes, yams, green beans just to name a few. The ambiance was relaxing and decorations were great, This is becoming one of my favorite traditions for thanksgiving. I would highly recommend Edmunds Original for your thanksgiving giving meal. If you are in the Charleston area and want some amazing food or some great hand crafted adult beverages, I would recommend Edmund's Original . They also have a nice court yard patio area to sit down and enjoy your lunch or dinner and have one of their hand crafted adult beverages. read more

This review is for outdoor Sunday brunch. It's not bad but it's not something I'll crave either. Maybe we should've gone during normal hours for dinner. I've been for dinner inside before and was very impressed. We got a few drinks (the best part imo), fries, Mac n peas, the artisan burger and the shredded pork po boy. And buttered noodles for the kids. The drinks were good! The fries were basically like Arby's (although to be fair, I haven't had them in years). The Mac n cheese is curried, so while that's a fun twist for adults, it's a bomb for most kids probably, ours included. The artisan burger was fine, not bad, not great. Nothing special to it really. The po boy was good flavor, but again really simple. The hubs mentioned it would be nice If it had peppers or anything else with it. The hubs did get 2 beers and I got one drink, but the total was like $96... it's just a lot for very average feeling food. We won't do the Sunday brunch again. read more
Such a great atmosphere for lunch and dinner! I've only been here for dinner and ate inside but have seen how busy and packed their outdoor area is especially during lunch time. The service was fantastic - my waitress was friendly and sweet. Top notch service from everyone we encountered! For food, the portion of my 4 piece chicken entree was definitely larger than I expected but always appreciated. The sauce was good but just a bit thick. The collards and pasta salad were okay, not a fan of those items in general. The fries were delicious!! Came out nice, crisp, and hot. Everyone else enjoyed their meals too and I will come back here again! read more
I've always loved this location because the outdoor venue is wonderful! My friends and I sat at one of the long picnic tables and it was very comfortable temperature and really beautiful lighting. We ordered the spicy pimento cheese dip as an appetizer. It was a little bit of a flavorful punch, which is the different textures and taste. I ordered the spicy Korean meatballs, which were absolutely delicious. They had the perfect level of space along with very fresh ingredients. The only thing I would say is that I wish I had a little bit more rice in my dish to balance out the heaviness of the sauce and meatballs, but I would still order this again! The bartender who is working was also extremely friendly and kind. read more
We took the Charleston brewery trolley on Saturday to this location (definitely check it out if you haven't before!) The beers we got were great and they had a wide variety of sours and ales to try! The service at the bar was great and the fried chicken salad was the perfect compliment to the beers we were drinking. We wish we had found this place sooner as we would have visited a few times during our trip! read more
Three of us stopped in for drinks on a Friday night. The place was packed! We were able to sit at the bar, though and enjoy some tasty cocktails! The bartender was excellent. I almost wish I was drinking beer that night. They've got times of beer on tap - something for every taste. The outdoor area was inviting and looked like a great place to hang out and enjoy a beverage or two! We'll be back next time we're in town. read more
I'd heard so many great things about Edmund's Oast restaurant (I've been to the brewery) and was excited to try it this past weekend. I'd heard the burger and dessert program were amazing. The day we went, the restaurant inside was closed for a private party, so we had the somewhat more limited (but not that much) menu for the outdoor area. The outdoor area is big and there's a variety of seating choices. I really liked the nice backyard vibe, and it's cool they share the lot (somewhat) with B&B. The line for the bar (where you also order food) is long, but moves quickly. One weird thing is that they have table numbers for food, so when you get to the front and order food, they ask which table you're sitting at. But if you're alone or paying separately, you can't wait at a table, and I wasn't sure what the culture call was on holding a table with your purse or whatever. The service was great - they had a hostess outside even though the seating was first come first serve for people like me who don't ever know what's going on. Anyway, we had heard so much about the burger so we got one. The Edmunds Oast burger is basically a classic burger with chopped onions and the works and we ordered a side of fries. After so much hype, I was really excited, but it really just tasted like a standard burger at a backyard cookout. I was pretty happy with that, but I did expect it to be on par with other restaurant burgers in the area. The patty was also cooked well done which I thought was a little odd. It wasn't tough or anything, but also not remarkable. The bun was well toasted ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The fries were good, but weirdly they looked different than the ones I'm seeing on Yelp. Maybe they changed them or something? But they were crispy and good, just basic, almost snack bar type fries. We ordered a couple of their frozen drinks and they were delicious and refreshing on a humid day!! I'm not sure if it was an off night for food, but I'll be back for drinks and to try dessert. read more
Fantastic joint in Charlestown. Extensive beer options (the PB&J beer is great!) and the foods are diverse in flavor. Had a reservation on a Friday night and were promptly seated. The open dining area has a cool decor and the booths offer a more intimate experience. The servers were friendly and helpful with menu items and attentive as well. Standouts were the spicy pimento with Ritz crackers and the peach pie. 10 oz sirloin had a great garlic butter on it and the roasted mushrooms as a side went very well and were loaded with roasted garlic. Definitely recommend read more
We originally planned to eat I doors, but there was only one table open in the whole place, and the outdoor area was SO neat (and surprisingly cool on a very hot day), that we opted to sit outside. Drinks were good, most of the food was delicious and service was great. My husbands food was very overcooked and when the person clearing plates asked him about his mostly uneaten dinner, he told him so. The gentleman very quickly apologized and had it removed from the bill. It's a rather pricey place, but I would highly recommend. read more

Need a restaurant for 13 people? Look no further than Edmund's Oast Restaurant! Out of all the group meals I have been to I was quite impressed with our entire experience. I booked our reservation three weeks in advance. I had read the reviews that said Edmund Oast was a must-dine restaurant for large groups so I figured best to get our reservation in. They were gracious and accommodating over the phone. Upon arriving I was impressed. They had a slightly covered patio area that was large enough for our large group as well as everyone else. There was a bar outside that we were able to grab a drink to sip on while we waited for our table to be available since we arrived early. Just as reserved our table was ready and we were told to sit at the second of the two long communal tables. I was captivated by the decor. It felt like I was dining in a modern day brew hall with the small kegs along the one wall, the long communal tables, and the dim light. It was a very warm atmosphere. We had two waiters who assisted us - one was in training and the other was mentoring. They were fantastic! They never missed a beat and provided personal service as though we were a small, intimate party. It was incredible. I loved their recommendations and I appreciated their humor. The food was wonderful. The pimento cheese was interesting; spicy a bit? It was good enough our table had two. I ordered the Edmund Oast burger and couldn't have been happier. It was juicy, savory, and just delicious. I also ordered the crispy garlic potatoes which I didn't like as much but that was a texture preference since it wasn't quite potato pillows and more like potato pancakes. The cocktails were great. The margarita was super smooth from outside. The gimlet packed a punch despite being very drinkable and well balanced. Our entire party had a fantastic time! read more

We finally tried the menu exclusive to the indoor dining area. The food was excellent!!! We loved the crunchy salad and the Walleye. The burgers are way better than Smashburger. They are double patty smash burgers. For me, it was too much meat, so I ordered a kids version, which is just one patty. It's loud inside the restaurant, be prepared to yell. I suggest getting a booth if your hearing isn't excellent Service was 5 stars read more
I loved this place! I didn't get to try any food but the drinks were amazing. All of the beers were great and they have a full bar! The service was great! I asked for a blackberry whiskey sour (not on the menu) and the awesome bartender was able to middle up some blackberries and white it up for me. I was celebrating a friend's bday and I had an amazing time. It's also a great place for a photo op with its awesome decor! I can't wait to go back and try the food! read more

Love love love EO's beer and I've been meaning to try their restaurant for the last few months! We decided to get takeout during our first night in Charleston and I'm so glad we chose Edmunds Oast. We ordered their garlic potatoes which were crispy, creamy, salty with a burst of umami flavor and their classic Italian sandwich topped with their homemade giardinara. YUM. One of the top Italians I've ever had and I've had quite a few. We finished with their caramel cake which was 15 layers of delicious caramel cream and yellow cake. Absolutely recommend! read more

Can you order food from the outside area?
Yes! The outdoor area is order at the counter with its own menu. The food is delicious so I highly recommend!
What's vegan friendly here?
Do you offer indoor or outdoor dining at this time?
Not that I saw when I was there. I believe during warmer months there is outdoor seating but not heated. Right now, just indoors.
Is this kid friendly? Is there a kid's menu?
If kids like cheese and meat trays, then they can find something. These are haute food creations and no kids menu.
Has any tried the Chef's Counter special tasting menu? How is it?! Thanks!
Yes! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed all the food, different flavors, and watching the kitchen work. Two thumbs up from us!
What's the parking situation like?
There's a parking lot or street parking. It's not huge so fills up quickly.
Is the patio dog friendly?
Excellent question, Having been there a few times I did not notice any precious pups. My guess is 'Not allowed' but call too be certain. Good luck..
