We met here for book club recently and it was great! Happened to be music bingo which is always fun. Their Mexican lager is great. There's a ton of types of seating and sizes of table so we didn't feel crowded with our bigger group and were able to eat outside on a nice night. The food was all really yummy, especially the cheese curds and pretzel. Parking is easy but could get tight if it was packed. read more

I was so taken aback by my maps taking me to the old Holy City location that i had to double check that this place was legit and not a glitch on my maps app - I'm glad i stuck with it! I love that they've turned the area out back into a cute little beer garden, complete with a massive fire pit cauldron, lots of games, and an outdoor bar. It's a super nice place to sit and enjoy good weather and their great beer. Everything i had here was good, but i haven't tried any of their food. Their nice staff is the cherry on the top. It's a mixed review. I liked the beer selection, the music and the atmosphere but bartender Grumpy is just not my vibe. I observed him with many of the patrons and he was kinda just an ass. I myself said thanks for my pour and he just turned around and rang up the purchase. A family came up and ordered the rotating tap, he seemed extremely annoyed with what they ordered. I understand it can be a rough time being busy and being the only bartender and as I gathered others didn't show up to work but to those being pleasant to you, be pleasant back. We went for a fundraising event. Disappointed with the event, thought it would have been better organized and more fun for kids but the beer made up for it! The Beer Milkshake was insane! A must try especially on a hot day! Also, tried the Celebration Sour - Blueberry Pomegranate, very good. Very flavorful and not extremely sour. The hint of blueberry was perfect. Food was very good. Warm pretzel was warm and crispy. Brisket Sammie was very moist and flavorful. Typical brewery atmosphere inside. Just visited Tideland Brewing in Charleston. We visited this location a few years ago. Our experience the first time was a little better than today. Unfortunately today we experienced terrible customer service from the moment we walked inside. The server was very rude and basically ignored us the entire time we sat at the bar. It was very disappointing as the one beer that we ordered was good. We sincerely hope that Tideland works to improve customer service from its employees at the bar as it plays a huge part in the total experience from customers. read more

No sours of any kind and I'm totally cool with that..these folks be experimenting...peach jalapeno wheat, black ipa, 2 different stouts, 3 porters, pumpkin ale, a West Coast IPA and a New England Style IPA. Only drinkers unhappy here would be the sour lovers. Gotta have over 100 seats inside, plus a long bar with at least 20 seats. They also have an outdoor beer garden with bathrooms nearby. Plenty of safe and free parking...like no worries about parking at all. It's industrial, but done over nicely inside and their a.c. be crankin'... Yes, they serve food. Great local brewery off Dorchester Road in North Charleston! Old Holy City Brewery location and Tidelands decided to move into the space. 20 different beers on tap and all of the ones I tried were very good! My favorites were Belgian Blonde Ale, Banana Hammock (Hefeweizen), and Other Side IPA (west coast ipa). They also have wine, cider, and champagne if you are with people that don't like beer. They have a large patio area in the back. Cornhole, tic tac toe, and bocce games are back there. Also have a smaller bar in the patio. It wasn't open while I was there but probably open on busier nights. Kitchen is currently closed but it looks like they have food trucks most days. They also allow you to bring in outside food. When I was there, Dashi food truck was there and it was very good! read more

Tucked away behind an auto body shop and a motorcycle dealer, this brewery is truly a hidden gem. Tideland has a wide variety of beer so its guaranteed to have something for everyone. It offers a great tap room as well as 2 large outdoor seating areas. There is a stage area in the back, but you'll have to check their website for any events they may have scheduled. My first time I went I decided to go w/ the flight to try out their wide variety of choice. Its rare that like multiple flavors of beer at a craft brewery, but all 4 were excellent. I also decided to grab some food while I was there and was rewarded with the best shrimp po boy I've had in the low country! An out of the way gem. All beers on tap are tideland brews. A flight of their ipa signatures was very satisfying. The food is ON POINT! Beyond typical bar food and crossing into the southern bbq genre. The smoked meats board is a wonderful sampling of their fare. Pulled pork and wings were AMAZING! Brisket was disappointing. Too dry, so glad I didn't get brisket plate, I would've been aggregated. BUT the wings, pulled pork AND we did a pretzel, was AMAZING! This place was pretty cool. I coincidentally came out here while they were having a car show. It was very organized and very friendly. A few things to note: - If you're coming out here at night, Google takes you up a road and to get to the brewery, you go up the dark alley. While sketch feeling, it's fine. Just def awkward. Some lighting would've been nice. - If it's busy, look for the line of folks that lead to the side of the bar. That's the service line for beer. A sign here would be nice. - There's an outdoor patio that has the same beers as inside and can sometimes allow you to skip the line for beer. Overall, this is a great brewery. The one thing that would've set it over the top - if the bar tenders were friendly. Almost every server I ran into seemed like they were frustrated to be there (maybe they were?). The icing on the cake was when I was standing at the area to order drinks and 3 servers walked by and looked at me to not even address me. That's just rude at that point. At a bare minimum, please acknowledge my existence. I'm sure I'll be back some day, hopefully they resolve the personnel. What a fun brewery tucked away in North Charleston. What a true hidden gem. Great food menu- best food at a brewery in this area. I had the special- soft shell crab and cucumber salad. Delish!! Beers- were solid. Did a flight of porters and stouts. My favorite was the Seaside S'more's- not too sweet and so flavorful. All my stars go to the build out. And their killer logo and merch. Not a real packed house and it took over an hour to get our two apps. And the beer... eh. It was ok. I drank it all- the PB Choc Chunk was good. We got an 8 item flight- they were good, but I wouldn't buy a growler of any of them. Apps- the dry rub wings were quite tasty, but we didn't get any kind of sauce, dressing or such. The beer cheese on the loaded tots was the same for the pretzel side dip- not a fan. And I love beer cheese. It was a little curdled like. The pretzel was good- but the mustard dip was really watered down. Overall- I'd go back. This place was an excellent find. Looking for lunch, came across it for beer and they ended up having satisfying food. Big menu for a brewery. Shared three items, and we liked all of them. The cucumber salad was a huge hit with both of us. Also the meat sampler platter was HUGE. Easily could have served 4. I was hesitant about the smoked cream cheese, and its the thing I ended up liking the most!! Unique and really good. Don't miss it when you are there. Served with the pita chips it can be a meal in itself. Pickle chips were exactly what you think a fried pickle chip is. Beers were good and worth the 3.79 overall brewery rating on Untapped. Good draft variety, offerings of wine and cider as well for those who don't like/can't have beer. Was quiet the day we were there, but certainly can see it getting busy and loud. My husband and I were excited to try this new spot after hearing rave reviews from one of our friends. We're the kind of people that like to relax, drink a delicious beer in a comfortable environment, chat with the beer tenders and other people in the brewery, and eat delicious food. And this spot has all of that and then some. From the super friendly staff (thanks Justin and Molly!) to the incredible food and beer selection, I'm serious when I say this spot needs to be on your list. We ended up going back the next day because it was that good and well worth the trip from Johns Island. They have a wide variety of beers to appease all tastes and styles, plus a few non-beer items for those that might not love hops, barley, and wheat I myself love all of those things so I proceeded to get multiple flights and try every single beer on the menu. Hey, gotta know what I'm working with, right? Needless to say, I didn't come across one bad beer... even if it wasn't my typical go-to. I'd recommend the Raspberry Brackish or the West Coast IPA... or even the Coffee Porter if you like something a bit darker and love a coffee taste (it's legit). And the food, perfect for beer drinking. We got the chicken Caesar wrap both times along with the soft pretzel, pickles, and wings (yolo) and there was not one morsel left.
