This was a unique experience. I don't normally like to go downtown due to parking being 30-60$ at night but we were celebrating a birthday and I made sure that they knew that upon reservations and to reserve a booth. Went at opening, had to wait for a table despite having reservations and it wasn't a booth which I was told were for bigger parties. Drink order was taken, was sort of waiting for her to usher in birthday celebrations to us but that never happened and the drinks didn't come until the food came. Normally we like to relax to drinks not eat with them. Food was relatively on point. We ordered spicy chip appetizers, Toro Steak Oishi, Goma Roll and the tempura brownie. Oishi was phenomenal. Flavors were spot on. However we ordered the brownie (because we figured out they don't celebrate birthdays maybe) and it came out with a caramel chocolate dip that burned...the birthday girls mouth to the point where she had troubles eating for a few days. We didn't finish and the waitress offered to get us the caramel in our take home box but it was so hardened at that point that they apologized and offered more. The atmosphere was great. Lighting was exquisite. Professional lunches or early dinners are probably best here. Romantic or celebratory small party dinners I'd avoid. Go to Hyde Park, Prohibition, Marble Room etc... as they aleays made her the center of the room and celebrated with her when we go out for her birthday previously. This was the first time I'd ever been somewhere that you feel relatively forgotten. Upscale dining prices for midscale dining at best. My first Dante experience and it was lacking. If you don't have a reason to be downtown it isn't worth the parking prices.

Our first review was a 5. And let me say, if we hadn't gone a year ago, this might habe been a 5. But it just wasnt as good. Service was lovely but still not the a++++ oir first server was. This didnt feel like *our server* but an organization issue. Does that make sense? He was great! But just missed some things. We were decision shy. So just went with the omakase or whatever they call it. Definitely got some things I wouldn't order. Like eel. Ewwww I never order eel. Ive tried so many times and gave us years ago. This eel was EPIC! I also dont care for uni (please dont take my sushi card!). But I truly enjoyed the salmon uni combo. We sat outside bc 70 degrees in this moster hell of a summer needed outside. We're from WNY so maybe we didnt know better but we got hit up for money constantly. It was really sad/annoying/guilt trip. We ended up 2 $20 less just from a football youth group and other folks. And no we dont normally do that but it was easier. Also, we give and VOTE in ways that help not hurt those living on streets and in need so dont @ me. Sad but true, we go to Cleveland for sushi bc buffalo sushi just wait where its at. Excellent sushi. Fun night. Good time

I began staying in CLE about a month ago. I had heard great things about Goma. I made a reservation for the night before Thanksgiving. At the time I was there, it was not very lively. A few tables and a handful of people at the sushi bar. I ordered two rolls and some sashimi. The sushi chefs were pleasant and hard at work. The waitstaff was good. Nothing one way or another on the service. I was however, a little disappointed in the sushi. It was good, but I'm usually looking for a little more flavor, and believe I chose the rolls that would give me the experience I was looking for. However, they did not. Goma will not be on my list as a must have sushi place for CLE. I will go again, if invited - but I won't seek it out.

Went here to celebrate my brother's birthday and it was a solid experience! It's got a classy ambiance inside and a nice place to go out with family or friends. The food that I ordered: - Tamago nigiri: it had the right amount of sweetness and umami flavor - Seared scallop and pork belly nigiri: it had good flavors, aside from the wasabi that overwhelmed everything else - Yakisoba: good amount of shrimp and pork belly, and they let me sub bok choy for the Napa cabbage. It had good flavor, but was too salty and saucy. I prefer the drier style. I also tried some food my family ordered: - Shabu shabu: the broth had a good subtle bonito flake flavor. Sesame dipping sauce had a very rich, deep sesame flavor. We got certified angus beef (no cut specified, but it was melt-in-your-mouth tender despite not having much marbling at all. We asked for a side of rice and they didn't charge for it, which was nice. The heating element at our table took forever to boil the broth, though. - Duck: it was cooked perfectly, very flavorful and tender. I'd definitely come back here and try other things on the menu!

I recently visited Goma to celebrate my sister's birthday, and while I had a nice time, I must admit that I'm not the biggest sushi enthusiast. I can't give a full review of the food since I only tried one crab Rangoon, but I will mention that the sauce had a very strong, vinegary taste. It wasn't quite to my liking, but I understand it may appeal to others. As for the rest of the group, everyone seemed to really enjoy their meals, and it was clear that the food was well-prepared. The restaurant itself had a beautiful ambiance, with an impressive setup where the chefs were cutting fish and preparing sushi right in the center of the dining area. It added an interactive touch to the experience. The food and drinks came out quickly but if you're going here to celebrate I will note that there was nothing special done for birthdays. It's also important to note that an automatic gratuity is added to ALL checks. Overall, the evening was enjoyable, and the atmosphere definitely stood out, even though my personal preferences didn't quite align with the cuisine.

I was lucky to snag a table on a Friday night without reservations. It happened to be a night with no baseball or basketball games because downtown can get a bit busy and this is in prime location! My partner and I sat got front row seats at the sushi bar, which added to the wonderful dining experience. We ordered from the Gomakase menu and got the sashimi tasting and goma nigiri. The sashimi was super fresh. The selection was excellent and I loved the salmon, tuna, and amberjack. The nigiri was also a good variety to complement the sashimi. My favorite was the salmon belly nigiri. We have been to Ginko as well which is under the Dante brand. Both are wonderful restaurants in Cleveland.

This was a decent sushi place, but not the best that I have ever been to. The appetizers were good and the rolls were decent too, but nothing was super stellar.

I never imagined finding great Asian fusion and sushi in downtown Cleveland, but I most certainly did on a weekend business trip! Located in the heart of the vibrant Fourth Street business district, Goma was a quality combination of delicious food, a terrific setting, and wonderful customer service. They describe themselves as a Modern Asian Sushi restaurant. Loved our downstairs room that allowed for candid discussion among fellow Board members. Next time, I'll likely sit by the 28-seat sushi bar. Enjoyed my edamame appetizer, then loved my Miso Ramen main course. Both were prepared wonderfully! Delicious. The Miso Ramen had seven ingredients that meshed so well. Also had a piece of Nigiri sushi that was tremendous.

I know, sushi in Cleveland but after a couple of days at a conference I had a hankering. This location has an excellent vibe. On the end of a row of restaurant and pub. Indoor/outdoor option. Very friendly staff. So I ordered warm saki of course, tuna tartar and roe sushi (salmon eggs). I don't think I've ever seen sushi sold by the piece but it was good. The tuna tartar was interesting. I think the side sauce may have been mayonnaise based? Not sure. Definitely a different take on this appetizers! Perhaps next time I'll stick to the sushi. Also, first time I've seen separate lines to tip the chef and an additional tip beyond the already included 18% Total came to $52.92.

Food quality was good (lobster roll, salmon sashimi and miso soup), but the service was awful. I wanted some extra ginger, I waited all the time for the waiter to come to ask him about it, but he never showed up. I finished my sushi without ginger. Same thing with water and eventually got the check. It was only one person very busy. I was not happy with the experience.

Best Sushi in Cleveland!! Service is outstanding compared to most places and it's such a beautiful restaurant over very comfortable and cozy vibe!!

Very happy with our dinner at Goma. Sat at the bar. Got the ube drink and it tasted great. We split appetizers and got the fried rice. Everything we got was good. My favorite was the lobster roll!

Goma roll - it was good. I prefer rice rolls though

Ambience: this place is nice with a good ambience and decoration. Nice seating. Service: The service was good and food came pretty fast. Food: overall pretty happy with the food I had. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. - Hamachi Carpaccio: I really enjoyed it. Generous pieces of hamachi with a nice light sauce. Definitely recommend it. - Goma roll: good selection of fish in one roll. It's wrapped with cucumber & has lettuce. I personally prefer rice rolls but it was good. - Sake Sashimi: really good pieces of salmon, loved it! - Spicy tuna roll: I didn't care for it but others liked it.

We were able to snag a couple of seats as 2 people were leaving. The place obviously lived up to its name. It's a vault, I get it... But what's cool about it was exploring all the extra rooms and booths. Certainly fun to get lost in it. I was also impressed by how festive it was. They were already decked out in Christmas decor, and the bartenders were in ugly Christmas sweaters. The cocktails were notably pricier than neighboring cocktail bars in the $16-$25 range. Their most expensive one was $35. I wanted to get The Safety Deposit, but they didn't have chartreuse at the time. I settled for the Post's Pom, which was nicely refreshing but overly sweet. My friend got the Cleveland Trust. It was tasty but also too sweet, and the charred dried orange killed the taste. My olfactory and taste senses were so confused. Can't say that The Vault was my favorite bar solely based on the quality of the cocktails, but can't beat the vibes.

The wait for the food order (which was delicious) was reasonable given there was a private event happening, although it did seem the bartender was stretched a little thin, taking care of the 6-7 people at the bar, making drinks for another area, and putting glasses away from a previous shift. Since the Metropolitan is home to an apartment complex, an upscale hotel, a rooftop bar, a dog park, a Pilates studio, a theater, a basement vault bar, and a "high-end" eatery, there's a whole lot of people constantly coming and going. Sitting at the four (five?) two-person tables situated right at the balcony railing means you can easily lean over and watch people come and go while sipping your drinks. Unlike the rest of the bars in the hotel, I was told there was no drink menu at the Ledger, and the bartender (who waited my table!) simply asked what flavor profile I was desiring tonight. The resulting drink he made was honestly good, and I really enjoyed it. Zero idea what was in it to ever order it again (and he was really overworked to ask!), but it was a neat experience of a "craft your own experience". There were a few beers on tap. I'm unsure about wine. Centro's food menu (restaurant downstairs) appears to be available here. There's a single unisex bathroom within steps of the bar, and the regular hotel lobby bathrooms are down a floor. As conference rooms are nearby this bar, I'd also probably guess there's a large conference room bathroom block too, but I didn't find that one. The rest of the bars and restaurants in the Metropolitan tend to take most of the attention here, and the Ledger has a much more laid-back, chill vibe. A lot of people were watching a sports game (baseball, I think?) on the TV behind me. With the smaller space and wide "open" area of the full lobby, the Ledger feels like your calmest, quietest bar option out of the available places at the Metropolitan.

They also have a lot of silver accents that have a cool juxtaposition with the cave look. You can find this nightclub underground at Clandestina on West 25th. Enter the club by going through mezcalería (Clandestina) and going downstairs. The club calls themselves "subterranean catacomb club." I'd describe it as a nightclub giving off speakeasy vibes with some exposed brick, cave vibes, and sultry red illumination. It's a very mysterious dungeon looking club. It's raw and unusual for the local nightclub scene in the very best of ways. The coolest space in this club is the once upon a time coal room that serves as a little private nook to sip your cocktails.
