Fantastic sake and nigiri and sushi as usual. Always with very creative specials like one with fried fish bones and hibiscus flower today!

Walking into this space is so fun! You're literally transported to an underground cool environment. I came on a week day around 6 and was immediately sat at the bar. I got 2 cooked and cur rolls. Both were tasty and light. I only wish they had a salad with ginger dressing in the menu or maybe a way to add some protein options on the side.

I was in Cleveland for a work trip and visited Ginko twice. The sushi was so fresh and delicious. I tried a variety of rolls, nigiri, and oshi. My favourites were the Toro and Truffle oshi, the negi toro hand roll, and the toro tataki nigiri. Somehow manages to get a seat both weeknights without a reservation. Definitely recommend if you're looking to splurge. I'd love to go back if I'm ever in Cleveland again.

My boyfriend and I tend to check out new restaurants each time we go to dinner, BUT if we end up in Tremont, chances are I will have my "dinner-cap" at Ginko for their delicious Foie Gras Nigiri. Crab legs are my favorite food...BUT I think the Foie Gras nigiri takes the cake now. Every time we come to Ginko, we are always treated with respect, enjoy amazing service & food, and recognized for our return each time. The manager, Joey, is so friendly, always welcoming us back for another amazing meal. The head sushi chef always greets us and has offered us some amazing off menu items to try, like tempura eel, bbq eel he prepared himself, and discussing the menu and our opinions. We tried the tuna toro pressed roll this time paired with a truffle miso sauce and it was incredible. Of course, I had to get my favorite Shiso martini with it! I will definitely order this and more at my next visit! Thank you to the Ginko team for making me feel special at your restaurant! I will return with friends and family soon!

Ginko might be my very favorite restaurant in Cleveland. The food is incredible, service excellent, and the vibe is so fun. The menu is definitely pricey, so more of a special occasion spot, but worth every penny. It's a small intimate space in the basement, with both bar seating and booths on the perimeter. I like sitting at the bar because you can watch the sushi chefs prepare food! The waitstaff has always been very friendly, attentive, and super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu options and offering advice. Now for the food itself - if you like sushi this is the place to go in Cleveland. Most recently, I did the omakase chef's tasting and had one of the best dishes I've ever tasted - a barely seared Scottish salmon. The entire meal was delicious though - no misses. If you stay for dessert, I highly recommend the chocolate mousse with black sesame ice cream and tempura banana. And The Villain sake is divine. Plus, when the waiter heard it was our anniversary he brought us an extra dessert at the end of our meal - such a nice gesture. Highly recommend, and can't wait for our next excuse to go back!

Still loving this unique and delicious spot, but know now that to sit at the sushi bar itself may require a reservation as opposed to simply walking in and taking a seat. Best to "protect" yourself, lest you be turned away! Their Happy Hour is still one of the best in all of Cleveland, so be sure to take part in this ritual.

A tiny underground spot in Tremont underneath Dante, Ginko has some of the best sushi in Cleveland imo. Perfect for date night, friend dates, and solo dining. My friend and I got a Saturday night reservation and treated ourselves to an assortment of nigiri, unagi kabayaki special, and mango cheesecake. Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout the night! She checked in on us several times, shared her favorites and the specials with us, and was fantastic all night! My favorites were the kabayaki special, seared salmon belly and seared fatty tuna nigiri, and the toro and truffle sushi. Sitting at the very aesthetically pleasing sushi bar in the center of the restaurant, we saw all the sushi being made in front of us for an immersive experience.

Wow just wow! Very romantic and vibey inside. I highly suggest getting a reservation. We did not and waited about 2 hours. We just got a drink at some of the local bars so it was fine, we didn't mind waiting. We loved everything we got but actually loved what the waitress recommended more! The fish just melts in your mouth. You have to get the Toro and Truffle.

i've come here for many years typically it is the top-notch sushi but this time around it seemed like a regular sushi place maybe due to the shipments being blocked from the winter weather. Service was on top of their game, very friendly and funny. And as always love the set up at the place nice cozy, warm downstairs like a speakeasy bar.!

The Matcha rim strawberry drink is a must try. The unagi foie gras is interesting but would want to try eye of the tiger next. Waited two hours on a Friday night for 4. Definitely make a recommendation. Great ambiance indie music vibes

Stopped in here while on vacation needing a small break and snack so we sat for Happy hour. We arrived right as the restaurant opened and it filled up really quickly. We had really friendly service and the bites were pretty good. The oysters were fantastic. A little pricey but this seems like a nice date night spot if you're in town. On a side note -I will say we wish they had shrimp or veggie tempura plate on the menu but that was the only thing missing for us. Also the foie gras sushi was really tasty

Went to Ginko for our anniversary dinner, it was fabulous! We were seated at the bar and got to watch the chefs make sushi rolls fresh. The chef gave us tips and recommendations on rolls. Our waitress was fantastic and attentive! Definitely a great spot for a romantic date night!

Can't talk about this place enough! After every bite, I literally said "oh my god" because I was blown away. You will spend closer to $200 for a party of two but you're doing it the right way! Smaller place so a reservation is necessary. Service was AMAZING! Told the server it was my birthday and he didn't disappoint (I wish I remembered his name) Will definitely be coming back

First of all, the place is beautiful. You will want to stand and stare a minute when you first arrive, from the cherry blossoms overhead to the gorgeous art painted on the walls. We were welcomed immediately and seated quickly. Our waitress was attentive and efficient, again this was no small task with a bit group at a very busy time. She made great recommendations and we started with several appetizers for the table: Crab rangoon Mozzarella stick, Goyza, and crunchy rice with avocado. They were all good and cooked to perfection, but the Crab Rangoon Mozzarella sticks were show stoppers. This is fun fusion at its finest, and everyone agreed we could have just lived on those. We had to put in sushi orders early as there was a bit of a backup with the kitchen, but our server did a great job of keeping us informed about the timing and made all the entrees work out so people getting hot dishes got them at the same time as people who ordered cold dishes. I had the sora roll which is another great fashion dish with a simple tempura shrimp and avocado roll upscaled by adding thin slices of wagyu beef, spicy mayo and dark sweet soy. I loved the combo. My wife had the peking duck and said it was fantastic with a good bit of flavor and a hint of kick, cooked to perfection so it didn't get dry. My son had the mushroom risotto which he said was very flavorful, and carried a bit of asian spiciness. Other people at the table had sushi, the katsu chicken, and the crab fried rice. No one was disappointed! Finally my wife and I split the smoked creme brûlée and all I can say is, you should save room for dessert because this was a fantastic spin on a classic! The only thing I would note is that it's not a quiet restaurant. Do not expect to have a hushed or private conversation here, but even with the big group I could still hear everyone, so it's not like it's ear splitting or anything. Honestly, every part of this experience impressed me and I would love to go back next time I'm in town.

While I felt bad for her I also was starving! I didn't even get an order for food in until an hour plus after I was sat and didn't get the food until an hour after that, it was a big yikes The management did give me a gift card but I honestly would rather they just staffed better. the sushi- really disappointed, especially after all the great reputation. the pricing- quite high, especially for the amount of sushi received. OVERALL I guess I will be back to use my gift card, probably on takeout, for the crab Rangoon mozzarella sticks

There are tons of options rotating by at all times, so you can dive in right away with little to no wait. And if you want something specific, just special-order it -- a robot will literally bring it right to your table. So fun and feels like you're in Japan. The service is consistently quick, and the sushi itself is always fresh and flavorful. We love their classic rolls like the Ohio Roll and Spicy Girl Roll, but they also keep things exciting with creative items like sushi sandwiches and sushi tacos. They're always coming up with something new. Pricing works differently here than most places: each plate color has its own price, so veggie rolls tend to be cheaper while raw options are a bit higher. It's super easy to keep track as you go. And definitely save room for taiyaki -- a warm, fish-shaped Japanese cake traditionally filled with sweet red bean paste (they sometimes offer fun variations too). It's the perfect sweet finish. All in all, this spot impresses us every single time. Great food, fast service, and such a unique experience -- one of our absolute favorites in Cleveland.
