Sora completely blew me away. We came here on a night out for a concert and were looking for a restaurant that would be a great fit for both a vegan diner and a non-vegan diner, and I genuinely could not have asked for a better experience. As a vegan, I'm always hoping to find something that is not only technically vegan, but actually leaves me feeling full, satisfied, and excited about what I just ate. Sora absolutely delivered -- and then some. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was unbeatable. Kyle at the bar took incredible care of us throughout the entire night and made the experience feel so welcoming and personable. I started with the veggie tempura sushi roll, made vegan-friendly with sweet potato and a vegan-friendly soy sauce. I'll be honest: I'm not usually someone who reaches for sushi because I apparently spent my entire life having bad sushi experiences. But this roll completely changed my mind. I'm a HUGE texture person, and the combination of the delicious vegetables, perfectly prepared rice, and those amazingly crispy onions was absolutely phenomenal. I was genuinely almost brought to tears over how good this sushi was. For my main course, I ordered the drunken noodles with the vegan steak, and I was absolutely blown away. The vegan steak had such an incredible combination of color, flavor, texture, and seasoning that it was as close to the real thing as I could imagine. I haven't had steak in about 13 years, so getting to experience something like this was honestly mind-blowing. Chef Eric even came out to talk with me about the dish and shared some of his experience finding and curating the vegan steak himself. That kind of personal touch meant so much to me and really showed how much care goes into the food here. And then dessert somehow made the night even better. Chef Eric brought out a secret-menu mango passion fruit pudding that was phenomenal, and he also surprised me with an avocado chocolate mousse completely free of charge. I felt SO spoiled. The mousse was genuinely the best chocolate mousse I've ever had -- perfectly dense, with that beautiful tart chocolate flavor and flaky salt that brought everything together. What stood out to me most about Sora was how genuinely welcomed I felt as a vegan. There were no awkward questions, no hesitation, and no sense that accommodating a vegan diner was an inconvenience. Everyone was kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to help me find things I would love. I truly felt spoiled from start to finish, and the hospitality was just as impressive as the food. Sora didn't just gain a happy customer -- they gained a lifelong diner. I'm already planning my next trip to Cleveland, and you better believe Sora will be on the itinerary. I've been here a few times but never for happy hour. I think this is one of the best happy hour offers I've seen! Lots of food options (full-size entrees) for great deal prices, and an assortment of drink offers. We had the Spirited Away (very sweet) and Mango Sticky Rice (also very sweet) cocktails with our dinner. While the spirited away was a little too sweet for me, the mango sticky rice was so good and hit the spot. You could definitely taste the sweet rice flavor, and the drink was beautifully crafted. Our food came in huge proportions. I think the fries were my favorite though because the furikake seasoning gave it a special taste. I think they were some of the best fries I've had in a while, honestly. Hosts and servers were great and the food came out very fast. Went for happy hour with a friend. We had the spirited away and mango sticky rice cocktails which were both good but the mango sticky rice was the favorite of the two for taste and presentation. I ordered the Smash Burger and they got the Chicken Katsu Sandwich, we also had the Pork & Chicken Gyoza's. The Nori Fries came included with the burger and sandwich and were crisp, well-seasoned, and delicious. My Smash Burger was solid and came with a lot of toppings and sauce. We both were surprised by how massive the Chicken Katsu was (partially pictured behind the mountain of fries). We also liked the gyoza's, especially the dipping sauce that came with it. The service was good and we got our drinks/food quickly. They even provided small hand towels and boxed up our leftovers. Definitely one of the best happy hour menus in downtown Cleveland. The restaurant was busy, but our service was still solid and we never felt overlooked. The drinks were definitely the highlight of the night. They were creative, well-made, and easily one of the reasons I'd come back. The appetizers were excellent as well, and the sushi rolls were full of flavor and really stood out. The entrées were a little less impressive. The noodle and chicken dish had good flavor, but it felt like it was missing some variety, and the chicken came across as fairly basic grilled chicken. Nothing bad, just not quite at the same level as the sushi and drinks. Overall, 4/5 stars. I'd definitely return for the drinks and sushi and would happily explore more of the menu next time. We ate here last night with a group of 8, and we were so impressed! We had a hard time finding a place to even seat 8 people at 6:30 on a Friday night (we did make reservations) much less provide a menu that could please that many people with different dietary issues (Vegan/Gluten Free, etc), but Sora not only met our needs it exceeded our expectations. First of all, the place is beautiful. You will want to stand and stare a minute when you first arrive, from the cherry blossoms overhead to the gorgeous art painted on the walls. We were welcomed immediately and seated quickly. Our waitress was attentive and efficient, again this was no small task with a bit group at a very busy time. She made great recommendations and we started with several appetizers for the table: Crab rangoon Mozzarella stick, Goyza, and crunchy rice with avocado. They were all good and cooked to perfection, but the Crab Rangoon Mozzarella sticks were show stoppers. This is fun fusion at its finest, and everyone agreed we could have just lived on those. We had to put in sushi orders early as there was a bit of a backup with the kitchen, but our server did a great job of keeping us informed about the timing and made all the entrees work out so people getting hot dishes got them at the same time as people who ordered cold dishes. I had the sora roll which is another great fashion dish with a simple tempura shrimp and avocado roll upscaled by adding thin slices of wagyu beef, spicy mayo and dark sweet soy. I loved the combo. My wife had the peking duck and said it was fantastic with a good bit of flavor and a hint of kick, cooked to perfection so it didn't get dry. My son had the mushroom risotto which he said was very flavorful, and carried a bit of asian spiciness. Other people at the table had sushi, the katsu chicken, and the crab fried rice. No one was disappointed! Finally my wife and I split the smoked creme brûlée and all I can say is, you should save room for dessert because this was a fantastic spin on a classic! The only thing I would note is that it's not a quiet restaurant. Do not expect to have a hushed or private conversation here, but even with the big group I could still hear everyone, so it's not like it's ear splitting or anything. We were excited to try this sushi and fusion spot after looking at the menu before going in. We tried a number of dishes. This place is very beautiful inside, and some dishes were great. Good bites: Spider Roll, Crispy Rice, Karaage Chicken. Crab Rangoon served mozzarella stick style is good, but very rich. If there was a different sauce with some acid, it would be even better. The horchata inspired tea was delicious. But unlike most Asian places, they served 2 pots instead of having us share. It made room on the table extra tight. I love crudo, and here they have 3 options. Sadly, the yellowtail crudo was very fishy and the sauce on it is as well. The way it is plated is unappetizing. After one bite, we had to send it back. That unfortunately steered us away from ordering any other fresh sushi. A table near us also sent their fresh salmon sushi back. The manager took half off of that dish. We finished with a poached pear. Again, plated in an awkward way, it was served in a deep bowl with a lot of the poaching liquid and charred lemons. Then they put the ice cream that comes with it in the same bowl. The result was watered down ice cream around the pear. There are crunchy bits added for texture that also end up getting soft in all the liquid. I was appreciative of a fresh bite of fruit after the heavier meal, but it was not the best end. Sora was awesome!!! My boyfriend and I came here on a Monday night without a reservation for our anniversary dinner, and we were seated almost immediately. Our servers were very kind and patient, explaining the entire menu when we told them it was our first time here, and gave us several recommendations. We ended up getting the toro crudo, crab rangoon mozzarella sticks, and two omakases (sushi and sashimi). We also tried their drinks - I got the Sakura (which was a very refreshing, non-alcoholic drink), while my boyfriend got one of the draft beers. Our food came out relatively quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by everything! The crab rangoon mozzarella sticks were crispy, flakey, and flavorful, and the toro crudo was extremely light and fresh -- the perfect appetizers. Our omakase platters were plated beautifully and were so, so delicious; the fish was fresh, cut well, and paired well with the various toppings the chefs put on top. I also love that they had fresh wasabi (which wasn't too spicy)! While it is a bit pricey, I think the quality of all the ingredients made the experience worth it. Overall, I'd definitely come back!! Note: The restaurant can be a little hard to find, but it is on the ground floor of a hotel building, right next to a parking structure (which is a little pricey, but less so than valet). We had a very late dinner here before heading over to the Flats, and luckily they were able to seat us without a reservation. The inside decor is super cute and fancy, it almost feels like a club in there, except thankfully the music wasn't blaring. We were seated at a table in the back room, so it was a bit more secluded and quiet which was nice (the umbrellas on the ceiling decor was super cute as well). Staff member was quick to come around, but then it was a bit harder to flag them down since we were away from the regular dining area. They serve nigiri, sushi rolls, sashimi options, as well a mix of Japanese fusion entree items including a wagyu burger and a katsu sandwich. The drinks were really tasty and I really enjoyed the flying nimbus drink. The chef's choice sashimi platter came with 21 pieces at $85, which is a decent price, though I wished the waitress had explained what each piece of fish was -- we kind of guessed based on what we know (and it wasn't written on the menu either). We also got a few nigiris including the yellowtail, scallop and tuna. The scallop was my favorite, followed by yellowtail then tuna. Good size sashimi though not the cheapest sushi option. All in all, we enjoyed the ambiance and the drinks, the food was good but not mind-blowing or super special that you couldn't get elsewhere. Its location near the Flats may be a deciding favor though. I would come back again and try more of their huge drinks menu and maybe order a special roll that others have mentioned in their reviews. When we walked in we were kindly welcomed and everyone was so kind to us - the decoration inside is also so well done (definitely an insta worthy spot)! I was in Cleveland with my girlfriend and some friends this past weekend for Tyler, The Creator. We decided to go to Sora for our pre-concert meal, and they did not disappoint. We made a reservation thru Open Table, and it could not have gone smoother. The staff genuinely cared that we had a positive experience. Their air conditioning was out, and we got a call over an hour before our reservation informing us of that. The restaurant itself was so cool, the floral decoration made the place pop. I haven't been able to stop thinking about the food. My girlfriend and I split the crispy rice with truffle avocado and the chicken/pork gyoza, both dishes stood out. And the sushi, wow wow wow.
