Currently they have been having little events called girl dinners that you can grab tickets to online, I've attended two so far and it's a really cute laid back night out with the girls. A drink sponsored by a liquor company is usually included for the event along with a buffet style finger foods. They also have different vendors there in all the vaults offering unique experiences like permanent jewelry, hair, tinsel, and feathers, coloring contest, and this time they had a vault set up with just dance. My friend took me to The Vault after catching a Cavs game and found quite a stunning bar. We arrived around 9pm, and it was considerably busy at the bar. We were able to snag a couple of seats as 2 people were leaving. The place obviously lived up to its name. It's a vault, I get it... But what's cool about it was exploring all the extra rooms and booths. Certainly fun to get lost in it. I was also impressed by how festive it was. They were already decked out in Christmas decor, and the bartenders were in ugly Christmas sweaters. The cocktails were notably pricier than neighboring cocktail bars in the $16-$25 range. Their most expensive one was $35. I wanted to get The Safety Deposit, but they didn't have chartreuse at the time. I settled for the Post's Pom, which was nicely refreshing but overly sweet. My friend got the Cleveland Trust. It was tasty but also too sweet, and the charred dried orange killed the taste. My olfactory and taste senses were so confused. Can't say that The Vault was my favorite bar solely based on the quality of the cocktails, but can't beat the vibes. read more

What a perfect place for a big, holiday birthday! The Christmas decor is absolutely gorgeous and add another level of sophistication. We came for cocktail hour prior to my mom's 70th birthday dinner. We were fortunate enough to grab one of the vault sitting rooms. It was beautiful!!! We all had various drinks ranging from the Pom Pout to the old fashioned to the Woodford cocktail to mock tails. Honestly did not really like this experience. The space is very cool and I totally get what they're going for. The vault style rooms are neat to look around in. Unfortunately, the general vibe just made me feel like I wasn't good enough or cool enough to be there. Maybe a personal issue but very much did not feel very welcomed. Do yourself a favor and order wine/straight liquor if you want something strong/worth the price. Atmosphere wise, this place is 10/10! We came to the Vault for a pre-dinner drink while staying at the 9, and I think this is a must-see place if you're visiting Cleveland. The only reason for my four stars instead of five is that I felt my cocktail was quite overpriced for what it was, but I guess that's to expect in a hotel bar. The atmosphere here is just so freaking cool, you can walk through all the different vault rooms and just imagine the things that took place here throughout history. Our bartender was awesome; since we came right when they opened it wasn't busy at all, so she told us some stories about the history of the Vault (apparently it's where the first million dollars was stored in the USA by the Rockefellers)! We enjoyed our cocktails in the main vault room but spent some time walking around afterward. Despite the pricey drinks, the Vault is such a cool landmark and I definitely think this is a must-visit spot when you're in Cleveland. read more

There are so many comfy, cozy nooks to snuggle up in. I was so surprised at how big and labyrinthy the space was. The actual vault door is fun to see and the bar area is nice. An underground bar built into the historic vaults of an old bank. The bar is divided into a ton of small rooms and hallways with seating. Each one of the "vaults" is its own named room, and I assume they can be rented out by a party (and may not be available for general seating, if rented). Go early if you want the best Vault experience. It's easiest to see all of the gorgeous, historic detailing without loud music and tons of bodies in the way. ACCESSIBILITY: -Tons and tons of seating options. They have couches, bar stools, regular chairs, chairs with arms, egg chairs, and more. -A historic building, a few spaces (especially chair configurations) are a tight squeeze between objects. Most of the furniture isn't nailed down, so you could move items (though they're heavy) if need be. Main walkways are open and easy to walk through, but they might be tighter if lots of people are standing around while busy. -A lot of the rooms here are relatively low light for the "sultry" feel. The main walkways are large and open to reduce risk of tripping, but they aren't well lit. -There's no official dress code, but most of the people here looked "nice" (a few cocktail dresses, but mostly business casual). The vibe is honestly a good excuse to dress up. PROS: -This place is gorgeous. -Really, exploring the history of the place (and getting Instagram photos) is pretty much the main sell of the Vault. It's a really cool atmosphere, and the bar knows it. The vault doors are really nicely lit as perfect backdrops for photos, and they have full length mirrors around as well. -The staff knew a lot about the history of the place (which was awesome), but I can't imagine I'd be able to have as much extended conversation as I did if we had come during busy hours. -You can probably find yourself a cute, romantic, "cuddle" corner if you wanted to. Because the Vault is so winding with so many small rooms, you can take your drinks into a nearby room and enjoy some of the seating while being away from the bulk of the people. At least, that's assuming the place isn't too stacked yet. -Coming early, we had a lot more freedom of where to sit (and we went far away from a loud, moving-around party of people in a different vault), but if seating is low, I could see your experience being very contingent on the people seated around you. Most people here looked like dating couples, but there were a few friend groups around as well. CONS: -The official menu online on the website is not the current menu. I came prepared (and chose this place!) with a few drinks I wanted to find that none of them were actually available. The bar may want to update the online menu more often. -Drinks here are definitely pricey. They seem to be a bit more heavily poured than some of the previous review complaints a couple of years ago, but you're still looking at $15-$20 cocktails served in relatively small glasses. They are their own works of "art" (watching the bartender make one which included 8 different ingredients), but they can definitely feel pricey. read more

Went with a group of 5 girls on a Tuesday night; even though it was pretty empty that day, I could see the potential on a weekend night. Definitely recommend going on a weekend and probably make a reservation!!! Personally, I wouldn't go for the food. I don't think it was worth the money and it wasn't anything special but that's not the reason why people come here. The Vault offers an unparalleled experience from beginning to end. Every nook & cranny in this space offered a unique vantage point on this classic location. Located at under The 9 this bar is the perfect upscale date spot or group outing. After walking through the Vault doors, you are transported through a pseudo time machine into Cleveland's historic past. This first stop is always the bar where you can get complex handcrafted themed cocktails. The bartenders have expert level craftsmanship combining complex flavor profiles to make beautiful beverages. It gets better from there. Hats off to the chef because these charters are to die for. We sampled 3 starters (Pork Belly, Pork Wings, and Charcuterie). The two large Pork Wings plates next to other were fall off the bone. The Charcuterie board featured a very well aged Gouda. The final, and by far best thing I've had in a while was the Pork Belly. Paired with a grape jelly, this dish was equivalent to popping pieces of Willy Wonka candy. Just delicious. I highly suggest having a conversation with the host Max. He offers superb insight into the history of the Vault. You'll have to visit to get the full history lesson, but this place is a modern marvel. read more

My favorite bar in Cleveland! I stayed at the Metropolitan at the 9 for 5 nights and I paid this bar a visit for every single one of them. It's located beneath the hotel/apartment complex and it embodies the prohibition style architecture and design with some modern accents. In the Vault you'll find the original flooring and multiple vaults which carried the money from the likes of Rockefeller and Carnegie. Every Vault is now a lounge area where you can drink, relax and immerse yourself in the historical and speakeasy style ambiance. The bartenders here have a huge passion and mastery of the art of cocktails and they won't disappoint if you want a cocktail off-menu and tailored specifically to your palette. The drinks on the menu is also extremely delightful with with some that adds an additonal wow factor to the presentation (ie The Millionaires Row). From Aperol Spritz, Tequila, Whiskey on the Rocks, Perfect Manhattans, Millionaires Row, and a few others, every drink was perfection. There is also a drink that they only have 10 of every night. It's an alcohol infused ice sphere which they crack open. Very tasty as well so don't come too late into the evening. You may miss out on it :) As for the staff, I can't say enough how pleasant they were. I opted to sit at the bar at every visit and their charisma, humor, and overall engagement added an extra highlight to every evening. The host was exceptional as well. I'm not sure if it was common practice but I requested a tour and he provided an in depth tour of the venue. Pretty cool concept ... and love the history behind the vaults! They were actually used by Carnegie himself back in the day. There's so many rooms to sit, the bar is cute and they also take in very large parties (thankfully they were set in like a private room) the music is good and have a cute vibe. We didn't eat here but did have the spicy margarita which was really good and didn't taste like a whole bunch of cheap stuff was used. Which you would hope for the small $14 drink. They state they have 35 drinks but the menu didn't show all of them which was a bummer. read more

I would NOT recommend this place. While the drinks and bartender were excellent, the prices on the menu did not reflect the prices on the bill. When we brought this up to staff, we were told "oh sorry, the menus just changed." The prices on the menu were not honored, and everyone in our group paid more than what was listed on the menu. They did not offer to refund the extra, only offered us a "shot" to "make up the difference in price". We were driving and not interested. Loved this place! It's located at the 9. You have to take the elevator to the lower level. It's a cute atmosphere and I really enjoyed being here. When we walked in there was a nice man up front who was willing to give a tour of the place and some history. The decor was phenomenal and I enjoyed that they had a lot of cute places where you could take a lot of fun pictures! The bartenders were really nice and knew their drinks and liquor really well and I noticed that they put a lot of effort into every drink they were making. They were also very attentive which was a plus! Usually I'm waiting for a while before anyone notices but these guys were really good. We ordered a small appetizer to share which was extremely delicious! The place was a bit pricey and there isn't any parking available so you would have to either valet or park in a garage. One of my favorite bars that I visited while in Cleveland! Everything about it was unique. My boyfriend and I sat at the bar, and we each ordered the "Pack's Old Fashioned." It was a little sweeter than a traditional Old Fashioned, but still good! The bartenders were all nice and eager to share the history behind the bar. (Very interesting- be sure to ask about it..) Their menu had a glossary in the back that explained each of their signature cocktails. For example, Pack's Old Fashioned: "Charles Lathrop Pack served as the agent and purchaser of the buildings that used to sit at the corner of Euclid and East 9th, before the Cleveland Trust Building was constructed." The bartender chatted with us and offered suggestions for our next cocktail based off of our first pick. So, our next two drinks were Bartender's choice and we were not disappointed. They were both simple and bourbon forward. I love a confident bartender! Overall, great place--Fun atmosphere & knowledgeable bartenders!
