I was recommended to check this place out while traveling for work so I did. This little hole in the wall is the dive bar of the brewing word in the best way. Clearly locals enjoy stopping in, they have guest taps and sell some additional beverages along with their own. The beer tender was so fun to chat with. Super friendly and happy to talk about their beer, where the names come from and their head brewer. I enjoyed a good sampling of their menu and all were very drinkable. My favorite was their Scottish ale. I would go spend time here again just for the great convo! But of course I would return for the beer too.

I would like to put this place in my trunk and take it home to be my local. Damon out bar keep was the best. So I'm going to real clear - I'm a beer snob. The brewer her knows her craft. The Polish smoke beer was amazing. A great porter and a better scotch ale. I tasted the wine beer mix and that was great. The vibe is laid back and welcoming. No food but a great Italian place right next door (read that review). Awesome brewery with people who know beer and also enjoy people. Definite 5 star because thats as high as they will let me rate. X2

I didn't realize this place was only a couple of blocks from Westside Market. I've seen the pics and posts on Yelp, Instagram etc, finally decided to check it out. Its what was expected with Covid. The interior atmosphere was great. We didn't even see the outdoor patio until after. They just need a fire pit or something to keep people warm out and it would be perfect. The wife and I ordered a beer and had a good chat with the hostess inside. She gave us some beer passport books.. We'll be back.

Excellent craft brews, very comfortable ambiance, and the bartender was so kind and knowledgeable! I can't wait to return! I love this area in Cleveland!

Nice local brewery right near the river. Friendly staff and dog-friendly patio. Today I had the Futile to Resist sour. I really enjoyed it and not SUPER sour. Hubby enjoyed the Prauger Helles. They have a nice sized tasting room. They do not serve food so you may want to grab a bite at another place first. Street parking is limited. They have a small cooler with to-go beers available.

Amazing hole in the wall. Super low key. Mike was da man. He recommended all the best places to visit in the area. The service was on point. Amazing beer and great Jameson pickle back. Would come back here any time

Clean, nice, friendly staff, place is awesome and really good beer. Located in a great area off the beat.

Really enjoyed the vibe here. Totally laid back, like drinking in your friends garage. Stoped here with City Brew Tour, so glad they showed me this cool little place. Nice outdoor area. It was raining so didn't get to spend too much time out there. Dog friendly. Does not serve food.

Great low-key brewery. Super accommodating, full of entertainment for all ages. IMO Best Baby-Friendly spot in the city. Carry food in. Big Jenga, cards, pinball, pac man. Single person bathrooms. Lots of space, usually not busy. Perfect local hangout.

Ran into this bar after sightseeing and looking for the new Cleveland script sign behind the Foundry. Seemed like a local spot. Bartender was attentive. There were only about 5 of us but it was early on a Sunday. Cool spot specially to get the brewery passport stamped.

If you're a beer fan, and fan of local and beer history, this is a must visit stop in downtown Cleveland. There's a ton to see here. If you reflect outside, you can see how this used to be a bunch of separate businesses and houses that gradually turned into the large spot that's here today. The exterior is historic brick facades, some of which carry over inside. It's along a street that has been transformed into pedestrian only access, so you'll have a pleasant visit if you sit outside to enjoy the fresh air, shady trees, and passersby. Inside there is a ton to look at. The main entrance toward the middle hold the original brewing system from when they first started; they've come a long way. To the left you'll find the merchandise store, with beer to go, plus a ton of apparel, swag, and other merchandise. To the right begin the bar areas, and there are a few. The old bar is here, right at the crossroads of all the staircases and hallways: the basement is its own vibe and also has the only restrooms, main level has various seating areas. If you're at the main bar, you can order direct from the bar; our bartender was so fast and attentive despite the huge crows. Upstairs is another experience with old creaky floors and many small rooms for more intimate conversations. Everywhere throughout is historic brewery art, trays, bottles, etc. from the region, most of which are long gone. Their beer is consistently well made and flavorful, I'm told they have amazing holiday traditions and events here. It's well worth a visit.

Thanks to this merger, there were selections from each on tap as each has their own specialties and signature. We came right after opening on a Sunday morning, and there were already people enjoying some beers. It was a late night for us, so it was great to also have an iced tea and Philly cheesesteak, then start enjoying all the great beers on tap. Their beer is consistently made, draft lines and glassware clean. We had a great interaction with bartender Shannon, who was super attentive and friendly the whole time. They have mostly inside seating, with bar stools. A merchandise shop is at the host stand. You must also checkout the basement, with barrels and comfy seating areas, I'm told it's a sight to behold around the holidays. Prices are reasonable, and you know what you're getting when you come here. It's worth a visit, especially if you need a good meal and some beers after a game nearby.

This brewery feels like it's in a quiet residential neighborhood because it is; nearby is a wine by but otherwise it's picturesque streets and homes. Going inside it looks a little unremarkable, like a garage brewery anywhere. But inside it's special. The main bar room is like an open barn, with warmth tasteful decor. Behind the bar is an antique ice chest, used to display their merchandise. They have a small menu of tasteful styles; we all got to talk to one of the brewers who was clearly proud of what they make. Further inside there are other rooms for private events, working brewery areas, historical decor, and restrooms at the end. The real draw here though is the outdoor beer garden: wood chip floor, big comfy Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, high tops, fire pit areas, basically any type of seating for groups or singles. Big trees, ivy, green everywhere; it was so relaxing enjoying our flights as cyclists and others came in and out through the gate from the street. The beer was also great, delicious quality and reasonable prices. This is a must-visit brewery in Cleveland, you sure don't feel like you're in a city when you're here.

Because of this, we made an effort visit and were glad we did. The pizza is some of the best I've had in years, so that's a must if you're visit. I just love the story; this brewery is downtown in a huge building that looks almost too big for what's inside. It's an old newspaper building, hence Masthead. But even more fun, the original name of the city was "Cleaveland" but it couldn't fit on the newspaper masthead, so they simply shortened it to "Cleveland" and here we are today. The brewery name is in reference to these stories. They have a ton of seating, and a well planned ordering area as you enter. They have high tops, bar seating, and huge long tables for large groups or to share. They also have a great outdoor seating and standing area along the city streets lined with trees. The bartenders were all super friendly and efficient with all the customers constantly coming up. I got a great flight of styles, I wish I had the time to have had more; next time. Our table ordered a bunch of different pizzas to try; I loved the crispy yet soft crusts, cheeses, oils, and fresh ingredients on tap. Prices on everything is reasonable for the quality. We came on a particularly busy day, as there was a sports YouTuber running a charity meet-and-greet inside, and there was a line of rowdy people for the entire two hours we were there. I tried the Ohio Apple Salad to make the most of my Ohio experience! It was just alright, nothing special, and I left feeling a bit hungry still. The smoked blue cheese topping wasn't tasting super smoked, and the spiced pecans were lacking (both in spice and in quantity). The apples were nice and crunchy, but it would've been great if there were more slices! Overall, the vibes here were good, but keep expectations neutral-to-low about the food.
