This was our first visit to Seeing Double. It is a bar with several food options located in a strip mall in North Olmsted. It wasn't very busy at the beginning of Happy Hour but it quickly filled up. Also Happy Hour is 7 days a week. Parking is accessible and easy. When we entered there were several people from the business next door smoking in front and the smoke smell was very strong. That was a definite turn off. The bar itself was very cute. The Christmas decor was amazing. Our server said it took over 15 hours to decorate. The cocktails were wonderful and we were able to sit on a comfy couch with a coffee table. Many of the tables were reserved so they were expecting a crowd. You don't get to invalidate it lol. I've been to every single Christmas bar in the Cleveland area over the course of the years, and I've never seen such fruity and tropical drinks on a Christmas menu. I can and did read the ingredients, but thanks for the suggested lol. That's just a fact lol. Not necessarily a bad thing. Just not my preference for Christmas. Yes, the addition of the laser lights were cool. Whoohoo! And I have literally NO IDEA how the owner would know the timing of our transaction. Couldn't look it up via credit card or anything since my husband paid and we don't even have the same last name. lol. I was sending pictures to my family, so out of curiosity, I went to look at the time stamps. It took over 20 minutes for us to receive our drinks. Went in on a Friday at 6. Happy hour was till 7. I parked in front of a preschool next door Let me tell you, this place looks divey and it is but it is soooooo good. Literally. The drinks are top notch! The food is out of this world. I got a chicken quesadilla and the chicken portion inside was HUGE. I also got a FREE mozzarella sticks app by signing up with email. (Don't mind if I do) We saw a band play and they played great stuff that I loved, granted I'm pushing 50, but great music is mint. Now look, I'm a gin girl. I started with an Aviation. WOW Really good punch. Next I tried No Wake Zone and it DELIVERED! The pineapple coconut foam added to the gin and made it dreamy. Lastly, I tried the Seeing Double Martini. My go to is always a dirty martini, but I think they changed something, it wasn't as good in the past (very briny, and the blue cheese stuffed olives were not as good). Seeing Double had been on my list to try since moving to North Olmsted last year. The interior is cute and cozy. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip for the appetizer and most like it was a store bought version. Although we arrived in time for happy hour we wanted to order from the standard menu. We were told this isn't allowed during happy hour which is something I have never encountered. The drinks were outstanding! I had one of the best cocktails I ever tasted. For dinner I had a patty melt and my wife had a chicken wrap. I would go back for a quick drink and skip the food because none of it was memorable. read more

If you know Seeing Double, then you know owners, Danielle and Daryl, and bartenders Steve and apprentice Emily. Well they will, despite my 5 stars, LOATHE this review. Seriously, I mean DESPISE EVERY WORD. Bartender Steve, is the Chuck Norris of bartenders. And yes, Steve is a bartender, not a cocktail maker nor a mixologist, but a Bartender. But don't let that humble title fool you. Steve drank old fashioneds from his sippy cup before the 1st grade. There is an extensive collection of prohibition era and classic cocktails. The menu changes quarterly for seasonal libations. Additionally, Just naming a spirit, a flavor, a dum-dum sucker you tasted in 3rd grade, literally just conjure up a thought of a whisper of a flavor, and they've got you. And you don't question the craft; you appreciate the lesson. When Daniel San is told wax on, wax off- he does just that-Wax on. Wax off. When Steve says, Negroni now, Vesper later. Without question, You Negroni and then you Vesper. Steve won't tell you his birthday, but I have some intel that leads me to believe it's the same date as Mr. Miyagi. Steve has scaled Tahitian's volcanic mountain peaks for the finest Persian limes. He's crossed miles of Uruguay's grassy plains to capture just-ripe luscious tangerines. The 'false acacia' flowers inconspicuously blooming from the trees in his backyard? It's nectar produces the world's finest honey. We "know" Steve was not alive when Marco Polo travelled from Europe to Asia circa 1300, but the resemblance to the two is a bit too uncanny... Every minute detail, from the shape of the ice to the tiny drop of bitters released from a micropipette, every decision and action is intentional and precise. Come to think of it, Marie Currie, famous chemist of the 1800's, used some of the first micropipettes in history. Coincidence? Steve learns, knows and slowly expands each individual person's unique pallet. He'll take you from vodka/cranberry to a gin gimlet by the end of your first visit and won't even realize it. Before you can peel the damp, tattered label off of your bottle of bud light, you'll find yourself drinking a Sapporo Space Barley, derived from grain that spent 5 months in an international space station. Steve won't tell you he's been to space, but he won't deny it either... There is also a fine assortment of retro Tiki drinks. Tiki Drinks that derived from the inspiration of the Polynesian culture, that one man experienced while traveling in the South Pacific, circa 1930. The man's name? Don Beach. Tiki drinks? "Beach"?... C'mon Steve. You can come up with a better disguise than that? By now, Daniele, Daryl, Steve...they are now seething. SEETHING. That's because, despite my prose, the bar isn't pretentious, it isn't boastful, trying too hard, showy or flashy. This is a neighborhood bar catering to locals and overly welcoming to newcomers. There isn't an ostentatious, intimidating atmosphere any day of the week. You can expect a humble, modest, staff of stellar bartenders and personable owners. The space is quaint, some speakeasy charm, but not so much that you feel like you need to be in a flapper dress, swing dancing. My wife had been wanting to go for some time. We stopped after some errands on Wednesday. We sat down. I went to the restroom. Someone brought us water and a menu. We did not see anyone back at the table for close to 15 minutes. I did what I could to stay quiet. Eventually, my wife ordered a lavender lemonade and I had a last word. One thing for sure, you don't have to worry leaving here drunk. We ordered a flat bread and some wings. We asked if the wings could be crispy. No go, as they clearly bake only. They were extremely salty and skin was off putting. The flatbread screamed of food service chicken and crust. The prices might suggest a better drink and tastier food. Absolutely adore this place! The cocktails are excellent and made with love every time. They don't rush making them and they are always delicious. I love the rotating specials that they offer every month. The appetizers are good when stopping for a bite. I haven't tried anything else as far as the rest of the food goes but plan to at some point. The environment is so cute and welcoming. I can't say enough good things about the staff either. So it's not speakeasy in the sense that it feels hidden or is hidden away from sight, but it is a fun place to go if you're looking to find a diverse drink menu. It's nice having a full drink menu provided for you to browse, especially if you're less familiar with knowing what you may like when it comes to mixed or, or if you're looking to go out of your comfort typical standard mixed drink. I went during one of their trivia nights, and didn't opt for any food so I can't speak on that. The place is definitely packed on trivia nights so expect to wait a bit for service as staff are running everywhere. On top of a hard liquor menu, they do also have beer on tap. Went for happy hour with the fam. The drinks were good. They had a piano player which was nice. Not really a "speakeasy" though. It was a little bit of a weird business model for me. During happy hour they only offer a limited menu. You can't order any food specials for the month or anything from the regular menu. This threw me off a bit as I had in mind what I wanted to get before I got there and then had to choose from a limited menu. I think if you are going to offer certain things for happy hour the charcuterie board and the cream cheese dip with pepper jelly should be available as to me those are very "happy hour" type snacks. The food was pretty good though. The margarita pizza was good, mozz sticks were good. Pretzel bites were a bit hard. Mac and cheese bites were okay but a little dry. I did not care for the bite of smoked turkey club i had, too much "smoke" flavor for me. The Italian sandwich was very good. The salad was okay but definitely had to ask for more dressing as it came out with maybe 2 tablespoons of ranch. We had to ask for silverware. Our server and the bartender were very nice. WOW. First and foremost. I'm in the area/state for business and was looking for a nice place that had a good review and boy did I find it. When I first pulled in I honestly had my doubts as I had been to many places setup in this type of mini mini strip store styles and been in impressed. However upon entering I felt a little bit more at ease as the atmosphere, design, and layout inside was very welcoming. So here it is, the food was very good and the drinks even better. When I arrived there was only one bartender serving the whole place, ok I get it not quite the rush hour but still causes a bit of slow service but I understand. Their menu clearly states that they are a 'small business with minimal staff so please be patient'. First let me say I appreciate when this is stated at business locations because it gives me a better expectation as what to expect. At the time I arrived the single working bartender was doing a great job and I never saw him stop moving or helping patrons even once so kudos to him. By the time I left an additional bartender and server arrived which helped greatly as the number of patrons was quickly filling the place up. I got the Mac n cheese bits and a pizza as well as some drinks. All were absolutely incredible and supersedes what I expected upon pulling in. I highly, highly recommend this place and it's safe to say if I don't visit at least once more in my next 4weeks of being in town then I will DEFINITELY visit the next time I'm in the area! Living in Cleveland, we usually go out for drinks in Lakewood, Tremont, or Ohio City... let's just say I've had many a craft cocktail around this town and I can truly say these cocktails were some of the best! I met a girlfriend here for happy hour and we had a really great experience. You can tell they really put care into their work... from the tasty small bites to several classic cocktails we tried, everything was delicious. It just so happened to be trivia night when we were there so we decided to join in (as it was free and totally non intimidating) and it was an absolute blast. BUT they also have 1920's inspired cocktails as well; I haven't tried any cocktails yet, but I will be back to do so. They have a small menu and the pretzel bites were good.
