I've been hearing about the "Aviator" for a long time and for one reason or another just never got there. Well we finally made it tonight. It is not what I expected. The facility is far bigger than I thought it would be. They have a central restaurant with multiple party centers on either side. It's a really BIG facility. New, modern, and quite attractive. With plenty of convenient parking. The wall of the restaurant that faces Cleveland Hopkins Airport is all glass. It affords you quite an impressive view of the airport and the planes landing. The staff we met was pleasant and efficient. Our server, Mina, did an excellent job all night. If there was a weak point, it would be the food. It was not bad (I'm trying to be kind); it was just uninspired, limited, and not really well prepared. Because they do not offer bread for the table our only option was to order the "Soft Pretzel". It arrived badly overcooked, crunchy not soft, and even boardering on burnt. The charcuterie board was OK, but uninspired. I ordered the "Lemon Chicken" which was a full half chicken in a reasonably good sauce. But the meat was dry and it came only with brussel sprouts (yuk!). My wife had the "Walleye" which she simply said was "okay"... oh well. Our guests weren't any more impressed than we were. I will say our coffee and "Pot de Creme" were very good... thank goodness. Celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary called for something simple, yet memorable--and The Aviator delivered exactly that. We dropped in for Happy Hour, looking for cocktails and a few bites, and were immediately struck by the well-appointed space. The runway views at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport added an unexpected layer of entertainment--watching planes take off and land while toasting 14 years of marital bliss felt like the perfect backdrop. We started strong with a French 75 and an Old Fashioned--both expertly crafted, but that Old Fashioned? Smooth, balanced, and memorable enough to set the tone for the entire evening. Wednesday happens to be Wing Day ($2 whole wings), and we took full advantage. We sampled Buffalo, Sweet & Tangy BBQ, Lemon Pepper Dry Rub, and the undeniable star of the show: Garlic Parmesan. Each had its own personality, but that Garlic Parmesan was simply elite. Service was impeccable--Emily was attentive without being intrusive, making sure our experience flowed as effortlessly as the cocktails. Speaking of which, round two brought a Cosmo alongside a repeat of that Old Fashioned...because when you find the right note, you stay in that key. For food, we shared the French Dip Baguette--shaved prime rib, provolone, horseradish aioli, and au jus done right--and paired it with the Mega Crunch Fries, elevated with sea salt, rosemary, and a light truffle oil drizzle. Simple menu items, executed with intention. We closed the evening the same way we began--together, with one final round of Old Fashioneds. A Happy Hour well spent. A celebration well honored. I decided to have my birthday dinner here... in an igloo!!!! (How fun!!) and The Aviator was just awesome! A lot of my friends and I got the same dishes & drinks...I got the pasta bolognese, some fries to share, & a yummy cranberry cocktail! The bolognese was SO MUCH FOOD! But delicious, the flavors balanced well and not too over meaty like some are! My other friends got the lemon chicken - all said it was done perfectly with the chicken still juicy & the red potatoes were perfection!!! The last of the girls got "sky high smash burgers" - Also great reviews from this, the Cleveland mustard aioli on it seemed to really elevate the dish!! & finally our server was so kinda to bring me a little birthday card & dessert (be quick with the pics bc the flame doesn't last too long!!) There were like 8 of us girls so we also got a honey apple cheesecake to share and - YUM! It was really a wonderful experience & I'm happy I chose here for a fun/different birthday dinner! I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the way I was treated by the DJ during the wedding I officiated yesterday at The Aviator. I feel this review is important because I was told he is the only DJ The Aviator uses. As a professional wedding officiant who has performed over 1,400 ceremonies, I am well-versed in coordinating with venue staff and vendors to ensure a seamless experience for the couple. Unfortunately, the DJ spoke to me in a manner that I found rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. Rather than working collaboratively, I was treated as though my experience and role were being disregarded. A wedding ceremony depends on cooperation and professionalism from everyone involved. While differences in approach can occur, there is never a reason to communicate with a fellow professional in a disrespectful way. My priority has always been to create the best possible experience for the couple, and interactions like this make that unnecessarily difficult. I wanted to bring this to your attention because The Aviator has a reputation for hosting beautiful events, and I believe your management would want to know when a vendor's conduct detracts from that standard. Great place that I could spend an entire afternoon at. Went to Cleveland to visit family recently and stopped here because it was nearly our hotel and we were starving after a long drive. Had a Waldorf Salad and an Old Fashioned to drink. Great bartenders! Great bar area? Salad was delicious and drink was top notch. Ill be visiting my family again. Finally got a chance to try Sunday Brunch at The Aviator. The venue looks nice and well maintained. It has multiple areas for seating lots of guests. It's not really an open concept if you're thinking of that for a wedding venue, but it's pretty big and I don't think I got to see all of it. The space and hosts were very inviting and seated us right away. Our server was super kind and attentive. We sat in the room with a bar, which was kind of a dark space. I asked for an NA sparkling something but they only had a few mocktails and soft drinks. The cocktail menu looked impressive though. Overall the food was fine. A few standouts but not amazing as a whole. They offer a good variety of seafood options, mussels, clams, shrimp cocktail, seafood salad. I liked all of those things a lot. The seafood salad was delicious, I went back for seconds. I also really enjoyed the lobster mac and cheese and the crab cake from the build-you-own hot bar. The other food items were fine. I do wish there was more variety. Especially compared to other similar brunch deals in the area. My biggest grip was about the space for food. Although there was lots of areas for seating, there was not a lot of space where the food was laid out. It was crapped, especially to have so many people grabbing things. Fairly slow lunch hour. Sat in the room w/ windows next to the bar. Pretty cold in there & I wish we woulda sat in bar area w/ fireplace that we found on way to restroom (which was nice & clean). Besides being toasty it had good music & more appealing all around. The server was fast & attentive but food took a bit to come out. Everything was cooked well. Portions were typically small for the prices here. The ravioli app we shared was pretty good. The trios for lunch was in our price range: tomato mozzarella wrap w/ side of salad & fries was a good portion. The girls liked it all & the fries were perfect. My pesto chicken sandwich was tasty but needed more chicken & came w/ beef & veggie soup (had no salt so I tried adding some but the shaker tip was clogged), & side salad. I will be returning ASAP due to the overall experience, professional service, and incredible food. Expect the menu to be a bit on the expensive side, however, you get your money worth. The lemon chicken entree with two sides (potatoes and Brussels) was the perfect size and absolutely delicious. The lemon butter gravy mixed with the plate took this meal up 10 notches. I've been wanting to try the Aviator Brunch and we finally made it happen! Overall it wasn't too busy for a Sunday morning. We made a reservation and got dated quickly. They don't have lattes so I ended up getting a mocktail coffee drink....and it was very watered down. $8 for that too which wasn't worth it. They have 5 long tables to food, a carving station of brisket, prime rib and ham. A waffle station and a window where you can get made to order omelette. $48/person for the price which I thought was reasonable! The view was cool, you were able to watch planes takedown on the runway while eating! read more

We have been to the Aviator multiple times for brunch, dinner, and even had our baby shower hosted here. We have had wonderful experiences until today. We booked the Mothers Day dinner in January for two adults, one child for $168 with auto grat. Booked dinner for 6pm. Walked in and the hostess was very sweet. Checked in and then waited while the lobby filled up with multiple families waiting to be sat. On the way to our table my three year old fell on the floor because the floors were incredibly slippery. The buffet was placed in a room off to the left of the entrance. Overall, nice room, poor setup. The cheese table looked... disorganized. The prime rib carving station was.. not really a carving station because it was precut and in a warming tray. The dessert station had no variety and was never stocked and just looked a mess. There was an ice cream station with chocolate ice cream only. A slider station with burgers and chicken sandwiches. Buns were hard from being under the heat lamp, chicken was inedible, and the burger dry. Salmon was dry. For a two hour "seating" my husband and I had two plates each, a slice of meat and a salad. For $168 it just wasn't the elevated experience you should receive at that price point. And simple things too - ice cream station, serving ice cream out of paper boats - they ran out of those and so plastic cups it is I guess? The setup felt mismanaged and ignored as it appeared chaotic and massively disorganized, which is odd.. for an event center specializing in hosting and catering meals for parties. We spoke with manager on duty to express disappointment, received an "apology" and we'll "let the chef know." Overall - we have come here multiple times with no issues - I do not foresee us ever coming back as it felt like a quick cash grab with little thought put into quality. read more

We sat in the main dining room. The ambiance was great! It's so cool just seeing the planes fly in. The appetizers were delicious and the margarita was very good! The food was good, but did not match up to the price point and the serving size. We left hungry after sharing appetizers and each having our own entrees. My mom prefers her brunch to be in the form of a buffet, and is particular about those, so I was pleased to find The Aviator. Their Sunday brunch is well laid out with hot items, salads and desserts separated a bit for traffic control, as well as made to order items including omelets, and shrimp and grits. I had a delightfully cheesy omelet, and particularly enjoyed the salad and chicken with waffles from the buffet. The fruit tray was also excellent, with plenty of berries and a nice variety (not your standard Ohio fruit bowl). Mom liked the prime rib, and we both found something interesting on the dessert bar. This place is BUSY. The dining room was fairly full while we were there, and they were hosting some kind of private ladies luncheon in the back, and the stylish smiling women just kept coming in! My sister picked me up from the airport and we came straight here from dinner as we had heard really great reviews. We immediately got seated as soon as we came in and had Felicia as our server & she was the best! For food, I got the grilled chicken caesar salad with a side of pub fries and my sister got their scallops and both were absolutely delicious. To end the meal, we got the 17 layer chocolate torte and if you like chocolate you will absolutely love this dessert. Another recommendation from a friend, so I passed it on as a suggestion for my mom's B'Earthday brunch location. We were so impressed, it was a memorable experience. The reception area was very upscale, but not stuffy. It was inviting and I couldn't wait to get seated. We made reservations, so it was a smooth transition to the patio. We walked past the brunch buffets on the way and had our eyes taking orders for our stomachs! Our patio seating was perfect, the little ones enjoyed watching the planes take off. The atmosphere was family friendly and other diners were happy and you could hear from some of the giggles and chuckles were a bit toasted from the mimosas, LOL! We soon joined them! We took turns going to the buffet. It was so much food and variety, there was no way to fully enjoy it all, as there was no more room in the belly. This was my second time here and I have to say, it didn't live up to my expectations. The first time I got a salad that had goat cheese in it and it was super rich. The second time, we came here for dinner and I got the short rib and I was shocked that there was 0 flavor to it. They basically cooked the meat and mashed the potato's with no seasoning. I tried putting salt but that didn't do much. I did order a side of the Parmesan fries and those were good. I heard the burgers were good too. If you come here, the service is good and everyone is nice but don't order the short rib if you want something good. read more

We tried the teriyaki shrimp and an aviator burger. The rice with the shrimp was delicious and had a beautiful presentation. The Sunday Buffet was a huge let down and with the recent price increase to $52.00, extremely overpriced. The food was mediocre at best. The "prime rib" at the carving station was dry and no Au Jus was offered. The ham was pre-sliced and dry as well. Waffles pieces were room temperature and the bacon undercooked. They were out of oysters at the seafood station. Nothing was very appealing and some of the chafing dishes were messy and needed attention. Cookies and parfait for dessert. We took guests there for a birthday celebration and it was embarrassing. Service was just ok. Nice venue but the food definitely didn't match. I reckon we have all gone in search of a phenomenal brunch buffet with our best friend while nursing a terrible hangover. Well, there you have it; that is exactly how I ended up at the Aviator for brunch with the Bestie. As far as high-end brunch buffets go, this one was by far more reasonably priced than others I've attended. It is quite a vast spread, including phenomenal quality, jumbo shrimp cocktail, as well as baked salmon, mussels, steamed clams, etc. You of course, have your carving stations with ham, etc., as well as custom omelettes made fresh on the spot which was really lovely. An entire table of various desserts, yogurt, parfaits, and various other sweet treats. The coffee was good and our server was sweet, patient and attentive. The space itself is positively enormous with various rooms available for Any style of event whether it be a bridal shower, a business convention or I imagine they could even host wedding receptions. They have a very large patio We were unfortunately unable to enjoy due to the time of year, but we look forward to going in the summer for cocktails. Specifically, I highly recommend the cold jumbo shrimp, as well as the lemon bars and the coffee as they were likely the highlights of the trip for me. Two thumbs up! read more

I wanted to like this restaurant so much. But the attention to detail when we visited for the brunch buffet was just lacking. The good: -Food was good. We especially enjoyed the macaroni, steak, and macrons. -The manager Josie was excellent and took the time to hear our concerns. The bad: -When we reserved we requested specifically for the lounge but were sat in the main dining room in a corner right by the kitchen. The table next to us was uncomfortably close with a loud group. When I asked about it I was told that there was no open space in the lounge area and we'd have to wait and the hostess argued with me about how I made the reservation even after pulling up the confirmation on my phone. -Being next to the kitchen, staff had music on loudly that was overpowering the music being played in the main dining area. The ambiance the restaurant was trying to pull off at that point just fell flat. The environment was overstimulating. Two kinds of music playing, loud kitchen, lots of people passing to set up a party. -Server did not want to take the time to answer questions or even get drink orders. She slammed things down on our table and was very dismissive. We felt like we were a burden. -Nit-picky about the food- but when you have an oyster presentation typically they're shucked in a way that detaches the foot (or presented with small forks) and served with mignonette sauce and lemon as well as cocktail sauce. These oysters weren't prepared or presented well. The sirloin was mis-labeled as prime rib. Prime rib was not an offering at all. Grits could have used more butter and salt. While it's a pretty presentation, unless it's cocktail shrimp, the tail on shrimp served in hot food should be removed in the kitchen. Overall- tasty and with a few changes could have been wonderful. We'll give you a try again next time we're in the area. read more
