It's a bar. The bartenders a great. I'm skeptical of the new owners. But the beer is beer.

Edison's Pub delivered for a quick drink while in the Tremont area. They have a lot of taps and canned options - I went with a low ABV radler which was refreshing and not too sweet, and Nate got an IPA. The walls display tributes to Thomas Edison with light bulbs and other inventions. There are pool tables and darts and they have open mic nights. The bathroom was a bit of a scary dive bar basement situation but it was fairly clean. It looks like they used to have a pizza counter next door, but it didn't seem open when we were there. Good little neighborhood dive. I don't think I'd necessarily make a special trip to this spot, but it was fun to stop in while in the area. read more

This is our favorite bar in Tremont. Awesome bartenders, cool music, and a great selection of beer. We walked over twice during our weekend here, and the second night they had Strawberry Basil Lemonade mixed with Tito's. Last year we were able to get pizza from the window in the back room, but with Covid, that part is closed. You can get it from the outside window next door. read more

If I can leave zero I would horrible customer service I wanted to do was play a game of pool. We started to play in the bar tender she went CRAZY! Stating last night there was a sign on there that said it was out of order and supposedly there was a "ring"that was lost on the pool table !!!! Wtf who leaves and doesn't know if their "ring" was till there !!!!! SO DISAPPOINTED in this establishment ! Quaint place. Get a pizza next door and it's amazing. They had a great surprise on tap -- a Wolfe's Ridge Bourbon Barrel Aged Yub Nub. It was so good! You could lose the tip bucket behind the bar sporting the "F" word. Keep politics out of the bar. Let's just keep it pizza and a beer! read more

Dog friendly! You can walk your dogs through the bar and head to the back patio. They had dog bowls that you can take in and fill with water. It also has a lot of shade which is nice. The only problem is there were tons and tons of flies. There's a window to order Edison's Pizza, which I believe is separate owners, despite the name. Their pepperoni is the bomb. read more

This was the best bar like 10 years ago.. cool people, cool bartenders. I took my friend from out of town there last night so she could try the pizza I've been bragging about for years. Unfortunately, nowhere online does it say it's closed for renovation or whatever. So that was a disappointment. We still would have stayed for drinks but the "bartender" was a total c**t. Best pizza in Cleveland. I want to be covered in those little pepperoni slices when I die. Yeah the staff in the pizza shop are a lil sharp around the edges and yeah sometimes you wait 2 hours for your pizza but it is all worth it. I crave this pie. I pray to it. I worship it. This pizza is life. The pub side is also spectacular! Mostly because of this one simple thing.... A POPCORN MACHINE! Yes, I said it, free popcorn. Love love love everything about this place! I stopped in for the first time on a Sunday afternoon, and the staff and crowd made immediately comfortable - like I'd been going there for years. Unfortunately for me, by the time I came in, I had just missed a really cool promotion they had going on - a donut and Platform beer pairing and a free pint glass. But I hope to catch one of those another time. Their beer selection was really unique and the decor was eclectic, with the awesome theme of Thomas Edison and his history of invention. There are quite a few rooms/areas - all with a different feel. The bar is cozy and has a TV, there is a room for pool and darts, and an amazing patio. It even had a trellis with grapes on it! Lastly, I have to go back here to get a whole pizza. I tried one slice, and it was devine. After my experience this visit, I fully intend to be a regular at Edison's. read more

Have you ever been to a bar and actually gotten dirty looks for being dressed too nice? Well, Edison's is that kind of bar. Don't come in here in your Sunday's Best people. This is a chill, down-to-earth bar that doesn't give a hoot about your expensive shoes or outfit. Just come up to the bartender and know a little about good beer. Otherwise, you'll probably get an eye-roll real quick. This dark, wooden neighborhood pub may have a no-frills policy when it comes to looks, but when it comes to beers they have the best of the best. Talk about coolers lit up and lined with mircos, imports and barley-pop yumminess. If you normally have to compromise with your brew choices at bars, you won't have to here. Can we take a moment to talk about the patio? Good, because this thing is huge. It's like sitting in someone's back yard. Have your pup with you? Bring 'em on in! Edison's is pretty dog friendly too, as long as you're outside on the patio. Another plus? If you tend to get hungrier as you drink, Edison's pops up some popcorn and has some tasty pizza next door to nosh on. Talk about making this girl happy. Laid back bar with good beer, good pizza and popcorn? I'll be there. If you enjoy loud live music, Ed's usually has a band crammed into the front part of the bar for your listening pleasure. It depends on what kind of mood I'm in, but you can always move towards the back of the bar if that's not your thing. Plus, I'm pretty sure they have pool tables as well. Great bar-- my second home away from home! Beer selection is wayyy above average. The staff is educated on their recommendations based on your palatte. Prices are good, considering the amount of options. The outdoor area is much larger than you'd think it could support and there's a pool table (inside) if you're feeling like a drunken game. The food... Love the option of a window to order pizza from! Gotta say-- they are not lazy with the pepperoni and expect a perfectly done crust each time! We had a great time Thursday night at trivia! The bartender greeted us immediately and we ordered a few brews from the cold tap. Our pizza (at only $3 per huge slice) was amazing. I had been craving pizza for months and this totally satisfied that craving! Trivia was fun, the host was really cool and the crowd was friendly. We also give 5 stars to the sex dungeon. Whenever I'm traveling, I make it a point to hit one dive bar during my stay. This place easily makes my top 5. No frills, fast service for cold beer with a solid draft list. The pizza? Holy hell! This was the real shocker. A lot of the other reviews complained about the wait - my medium was ready in 20 minutes. Hot, bacon spinach loaded down with toppings and a buttery, crunchy crust to boot. Don't go when they open for the day. The pizza kitchen is great especially if you like a ton of toppings on your pie. Went to the pub to grab a beer and the bartender is rude as hell. So you would think a bar that has only craft beer on draft would have a bartender that knows a little about what they serve but she had no clue. When she suggested a beer to a patron looking for a cider i suggested to them something else i was berated for my comment. I would be mad if a bartender suggested a drink that cost 7 dollars that was nothing like i would want. Went here for the first time last night with some of my girlfriends. Eccentric (or should I say electric har...har) theme. I have zero complaints. The bartender was SUPER knowledgeable on the wide selection of craft beers Edison's carries. She was also just a really nice woman. I recorded my 100th beer on Untappd here. I had the X-10 Saison on draft by Duclaw Brewing Company. It was delicious. They really know how to pick their craft beer. I also had a glass of Anvil Bourbon Cider on tap. So delicious. The outside patio is the best. So beautiful and there is a little turtle in their man-made pond. I did not get to try the pizza myself, but my girlfriend did and she swears by it. She loaded up the toppings and was not messing around. Next time I will grab a slice. read more

Second time coming to Edison's for trivia (see you there on Thursdays at 9pm!). Great atmosphere, but be sure to get there at least a half hour early to grab a table - trivia night is hoppin! The four of us ordered off the nightly draft list with each beer around $6. If you get hungry, the attached pizza joint is amazing!! A large slice of pepperoni is only $4 and you will not regret it (this very well may be the best pizza place in Cleveland). For whatever reason, the bar area of Edison's always reminded me of the inside of a ship. I think it is the wooden columns and light fixtures with the painting of a lady with exposed breasts centered behind the bar. More specifically, it reminded me of Jaws. I spent too much money at Edison's when I lived by it. I thought it was getting too trendy and I no longer belonged. I went there tonight and saw a lot of the same old weird people. Some of the artists who live in the neighborhood were there talking about some important bullshit philosophy. The village idiot who I hate was there. It felt right. Edison's is a warm, dark and inviting barroom. After a few strong drinks, it captures the feeling of embryonic unknowing. Weightlessness while floating in the ether. They play tolerable music and they had Three Floyds Alpha King on draft. I guess it still is my favorite bar. read more

Cute place, low key neighborhood bar. Only one tv so maybe not the best place to watch sports. We came here to see a band and the bar was packed, trying to get a seen to get a drink at the bar was quite a feat, we asked about ordering pizza and were instructed to go outside and go next door to a different shop, when we later learned there is a window for orders within the bar. This really bothered me, he could have easily directed us to that window instead of having to go outside in the cold.Once we moved to be seated at the bar we got prompt attention. This little dive bar is a bit unexpected in the midst of ultra-trendy Tremont but I think that's what makes it so endearing. The bartenders are super personable and were very prompt - we never had to ask to get drinks because they were on top of their game. They have a pretty decent selection and offered samples right away which I always appreciate. There's a chalkboard on the wall listing their happy hour and live music schedule- two of my favorite things - so I can definitely see this place rising way up on my favorites list. There seems to be a large crowd of regulars that come here because I would say that at least half the people that came in knew the bartenders by name but it's not somewhere that would make you feel weird for not being a regular (quite the opposite really). Another high point is that there is a window in the back where you can order food from next door and get super delicious pizza and other Italian based food. Apparently these are two separate businesses that happen to share the same name so I'll lay off on a food review but the fact its available and delicious makes me like this pub even more. I can't wait to come back (especially during patio season) as I see this being the start of a great love affair. read more

Buy by the box or by a slice (only $3.50!) and make sure you pour some of that honey on top! Some of my favorite memories have been here- whether it was warm summer nights eating pizza on the bench or bringing a large group of friends and devouring boxes of pizza on the back porch. And of course, I secretly come here for the free popcorn, duh. I've also come here on a few occasions for live concerts or basketball games and the bar is always packed. They always have special events happening through the week, whether its trivia night, open mic night or a live band. If your visiting from out of town, stopping by Edision's and grabbing a slice of pizza is a must. read more

My first experience at Edison's after hearing people raving about it for years and I'm sooo disappointed. The bar staff is inconsolably rude and angry. We walked in and asked about seating for 6 and the bartender promptly walked past us yelling over his shoulder, "seat yourself." Yes! We know it's seat yourself but we'd love for someone to tell us if there's a table that'll fit 6 somewhere in the building. After choosing our own seat, the bartender proceeded to get angry that we took one of her stools.... maybe if someone directed us we wouldn't have this problem. I've been a server and I understand having a bad night but this was beyond having a bad night. It's too bad because the beer selections are fantastic, but bad service ruins a good spot. read more

Once upon a time this was my most visited bar in Cleveland. For this reason, it will always have a place in my heart. I got love for Edison's. Some great musicians have played here, one of them being Guitar Man. You can usually catch him on 25th now, dressed in a mask and cape, playing songs off of his up and coming cd. They're not too bad, he's a very talented man. The place is a house turned into a bar, still an upstairs to it, I believe it may be in use too. I could never live upstairs from a bar. Maybe it's not, don't take my word for it. The back patio, is brick-layer, has grape vines providing protection from a light drizzle, if that's not enough, there's a shell of the garage still standing with tables under it. There's a dart board for outside entertainment, a porch is also there as soon as you walk out. A cool water fountain is also back there. It's own little world exists back there. Connected to the bar is the pizza shop, accessible from the front or inside the bar. This pizza is some of the best in Cleveland, actually I'm gonna go so far as to say it is the best. Honey packets available upon request, I think they even charge 25 cents nowadays! which is bullshit! but worth it. There's always local artists, photographers work posted up for sale. You can catch some real cool paintings, drawings, or photos here. Great beer selection. Fruity, fancy, or cheap, they got what you need. I have so many great memories in this place, some have no place in Yelp. If you're looking for a relaxed place to go in Tremont, this is it. Imagine it 5x better when you're there, that's how it was 2-3 yrs ago when we were regulars, before management changed. It's still cool though. read more

This is the spot! Mock-ups of Edison's inventions and working models on the wall, free darts and popcorn (and, occasionally, pizza from next door) periodic visits from big, friendly dogs, lots of rooms (and thus lots of room), irate Canadian owner/bartender... We came in this place randomly driving around the super-cool Tremont area (old Polish and every other kind of Eastern European neighborhood, lots of beautiful Catholic and Orthodox churches, backdrop for The Deer Hunter) which is now experiencing some influx of Latinos and a kind of non-toxic gentrification. A real treat is that the last Sunday of every month you can hear (for free) the incredible Revolution Brass Band, which has at least eight pieces, mixes jazz, funk, calypso, New Orleans, Fela Kuti, Bob Dylan and maybe Latin and soca influences to create a sound so funky it just might make Mingus (in the Moanin' era) proud! These incredible musicians were cracking jokes with us in between sets (shoot, in between songs, shoot, during songs) -- WHY IS EVERYBODY IN CLEVELAND SO FRIENDLY? read more

See, I would probably go to Edison's if I lived or hung out near it, in spite of the kinda sorta bad experience we had during Taste of Tremont. My weather-savvy (and quite handsome) man friend looked up and noted that a storm was inches away. We should find a bar to hunker down in, said he. Friggin a! Said I. Edison's ahoy, with two spots open at the bar. Not three minutes later: deluge. We ordered two Solo cup pints of Victory Summer Love and opened a tab, just in case. Our fantastic and hilarious bartender took his card and proclaimed the first round would be... wait for it... TWELVE DOLLARS. Where am I, Chicago? Hmm, I take that back. Even in my beloved hometown, do we not often charge six bucks for a Summer Love. Four beers and twenty four dollars later, we waited for a break in the weather and hit the bricks. I'm sure it's a great little local joint and I'm also pretty sure those prices were inflated for the street fair crowd but you know what, that was a dick move if you want people to have a good impression and return. read more

I love this place for many reasons, but the major reason is the PBR Game!! We've spent many a Sunday in this establishment prior to Flying Monkey Karaoke. And what is the PBR Game you may ask? The PBR Game is a lovely guessing game involving PBR bottles. Each bottle has a specific card under the cap (4 of spades, Ace of Clubs, etc) and you get to guess for each beer purchased. If you get it correct, YOU WIN A FREE BEER, and everyone in the bar cheers. I know, 1 in 52 sounds like bad odds, but I've won 3 times. 3!! And, how many times have I played? After my friend picked me up from the airport, we were supposed to meet up with a group of friends to celebrate our friend Tim's birthday. We first stopped at the Wink but after a few phone calls and txts, we soon learned they were at Edison's instead. Edison's is in Tremont. I guess if you're a Cleveland-er this is supposed to mean something but if you're a visitor, Tremont just seems like any other small town area. We found the group sitting at the bar but we moved to the table in the front window. There's a small selection of drafts but don't be dismayed; their bottled selection is quite large. Not being too familiar with a lot of what I saw (or my eyes hadn't adjusted to the dim lighting), I quickly spotted Magic Hat #9 and got that since you can't really go wrong with that. The crowd is an eclectic mix - young and old - hipster and not - and there's a cat that roams about the place. We had the unfortunate luck to have this very drunk motorcycle enthusiast sit at the end of the bar where we were and kept shoving photos of his favorite motorcycles in our face as we tried to carry on our conversation. He was pretty harmless, but was quite loud and intrusive (by intrusive, I mean he would not move the photo from our faces until we commented on how much we liked it). All in all, it's a quiet (if you don't run into motorcycle guy), low-key place to grab a beer and catch up with friends. read more

I've shared pints and stories with friends on Edison's whimsical patio, I've rubbed elbows with the locals while at the bar and I've balanced the ability to shoot pool and simultaneously, scarf pizza slices in the back room. But last night's outing at Edison's seemed to be one scripted from an old black and white Italian film that highlighted simpler times. We were in serious need of a nightcap. A punctuation to a night out with friends following another tough defeat on the local sandlot. A quick stroll down Professor Avenue on this balmy summer evening revealed our destination and intention. A slice at Edison's would be it. But it wasn't to be eaten amongst the rest of the bar crowd, it was to be eaten outside on a curb overlooking the dozens of nearby illuminated Eastern European churches in the area. The slices were ordered take-out, in which we placed through a screen door entrance that is separate from the rest of the bar. A perfect quick late night snack. Cleveland doesn't have enough of these types of places, but tonight, we were in luck. It worked out perfectly. Slices being consumed while sitting on a curb overlooking Tremont on a random summer's night. The setting, the weather, the company, the pizza, the reflection. Just taking time to enjoy the simpler things in life just isn't done enough anymore. read more

if you're a dive bar kind of gal, like i am, then you will love this bar. live music on occasion, great drink selection, free popcorn, amazing patio (there is a fish pond!), and the best part... a walk-up window to order the best pizza in The Land! (That would be from Edison's Pizza next door.) i hadn't been in quite a bit since i moved out of the neighborhood, but i went back this past weekend and all was still the same old Edison's that i know and i love. the world may be changing, but it's good to know that some good things never do. read more

My husband and I walked into Edison's pub to grab a quick beer while waiting for our pizza from next door. I was very much at home here. It was quiet (but I get the impression that on another night, it might not be, if only for the fact that they have one or more bands playing during the week) and cozy. The bartender was really nice. She enthusiastically shook our hands and introduced herself to us and then talked to us about the neighborhood. They have Left Hand Milk Stout (one of my favorite beers) on tap. Without that little bit of joy, it might have only been 3 stars, but the fact that I saw the Left Hand right when I walked in set the tone for the rest of the, uh, 20 minutes we were there. We probably would have stayed longer if we weren't bringing food home. A couple sketchy dudes in here, but if you don't make eye contact, they'll probably leave you be. I took a look at the patio and it looked great. Too bad I didn't try this during the summer season. read more
