Had the greatest stone oven pizza's EVER! Margarita Pizza drizzled with hot honey. The bar staff was amazing --they created the best Old Fashion I've had in Cleveland. The ambience is crazy--an old speakeasy--I was waiting for Eliot Ness to raid the place. The owner--David Orloff even stopped by to make sure everything was excellent-which it was.

It's a decent bar, but nothing standout. The space is quite small, so it can feel a bit cramped, especially on busy nights. The drinks are fine--not bad, but not particularly memorable either. For the quality, I'd say they're a bit overpriced. It's an okay spot if you're in the area, but not necessarily a place I'd go out of my way for.

Zona Verde: riff on a white Negroni... mescal, green chartreuse, Montenegro

Excellent premium cocktail venue in Little Italy. Expert bartender (Tanner) with a lot of talent - his riff on a White Negroni using mescal and green chartreuse was really complex and well done. Cozy, intimate venue - they plan to have a small outdoor area in the summer and also will be adding food items. Highly recommend great cocktails.

The alleyway to Cent' Anni

If ever a bar has started with a bang, Cent' Anni is it. Tucked away in a back alley in Little Italy, you'll enter the chic, dark, and sexy bar from the back of a retail building on Mayfield. Despite being a Friday evening, my husband and I were seated quickly, though at two little bar stools tucked away that were not super comfortable. Later when another table cleared we were able to be seated at a MUCH more comfortable two-top. Our server was quick to get us settled in and with drinks in hand. We got a Take Me to the Dolomites and a Blood & Honey. We also ordered a plate of the bread + oil, as well as the veggie ricotta bites. Both drinks were outstanding. I really liked how the blood & honey tasted as you sipped the cocktail through the wine float. The bread + ricotta bites were also very tasty, although, to be honest, $18 for the ricotta bites is highway robbery and so, while delicious, I won't be ordering those again. What I will be doing, though, is returning to Cent' Anni often!

That "house Old Fashioned" the bartender made me totally kicked me in the face! So glad I live within staggering distance!

Cent'Anni is a still so new that they don't have a sign out front, so it was very quiet when we went in (it was quiet UNTIL we got in - we're those people), but I don't think it will stay that way for long. It's kind of around back in a little alley in Little Italy. The bar is dark, with funky tropical bird wall paper, trust me, it works, and a nice cocktail menu and extensive wine list. I had the espresso martini. It was strong, the coffee was smooth, and it had some foamy whipped cream on top that made it sweet, but not too sweet. We also tried some of the apps, and the appetizer menu is kind of cured meat forward. The charcuterie was nicely presented, and the ricotta toast was very good after I picked off the prosciutto. Both had dried cherries, which are one of my favorite cheese board additions! They're definitely setting up to be a great place to get a drink with a couple of friends. While they aren't advertising loudly yet, they probably won't need to after long!

The nasty grease covered pizza box they gave us.

Was told this place was "hidden gem." Couldn't have been further from the truth. My husband and I went last night was first sat at a table inside right in front of the door. Asked if we could move to a table outside. What a mistake the packed people into this little patio area my elbows were touching the guys chair next to my very uncomfortable. Finely after waiting for 15 mins for our server to come to the table I had to get up and ask the host if she let the server know she moved us outside her response was "oh she didn't come take your order yet?" Ummm if she did would I be asking?? So she finally came and with an attitude no hi how are you nothing just " you want to order?" At this point if my husband wasn't starving I would have left. I order a pizza and a bread plate and a few small things for us to share. The bread comes and then we sat for well over 45 mins at this point we have been there well over an hour I'm very unhappy we get out to go ask someone for our check and to cancel the remaining food. As we are approaching the host stand our server comes running up to us going "YOU DIDN'T PAY!" I said, "I know I have t seen you in 30 mins so I can up to cancel the rest of the food and pay for the drinks we had. She said your food is ready, I said, "then please box it up I would like to go. She brings out the pizza with grease all of the top of the box and 4 to go containers. I said, "we have a long walk back to the car can I get a bag for all of these containers. She said, " we don't have bags." WTF what restaurant doesn't have bags? Needless to say we will never be back.

This place definitely has the best cocktails I've had in Cleveland lately! It's an amaro-focused bar with a few light bites. Every drink I've had there has been interesting and fantastic! It's tucked down an alley off the main stretch of Little Italy - but they usually have a sign on the sidewalk to find it. It can get busy on weekend evenings, and it's first come first served, so I would recommend trying to go earlier rather than later.

DON'T CHANGE A THING, CENT'ANNI! This is what Little Italy and the east side in general needed. A sexy, high end, Amari-driven cocktail bar serving up the classics as well as modern spins. Yes, D. C., the drink sizes are a bit more conservative than BW3's. Sorry, you're not going to be able to get wasted off 2 martinis here. At Cent'Anni, it's more about the quality and the art of crafting the perfect cocktail than volume. The staff is knowledgeable and I enjoyed learning about their house made elixirs and homage to the bitter drink. D. C., maybe when you ordered that PBR, the bartender cried a little inside, and their melancholia shined through in their treatment of you. I feel their pain. The ambiance was perfect. Vintage looking crane wallpaper, dark walls, beautiful art, stained glass. Could the lighting have been a bit darker? Sure. Then D.C. wouldn't have had to actually see her unattractive date. But it was by no means, too bright. I'm the first one to notice lighting or the overabundance of such. On the way out, I commented to the hostess how much I enjoyed my visit and how I didn't know it was open even though I live right around the corner. She mentioned hoping word will travel. I can say, with utmost confidence, that won't be a problem. You don't have to advertise if you are that good. I would even go so far as to say you don't even need that sandwich board out front. Make people have to ask where you are. Really play on that "speakeasy" vibe you have going. Make people search for you. ----Years ago, I was in NYC and visited a very hard to find (on purpose) classic cocktail bar. No sign, no directions, it was down a flight of stairs, most would have given up. But for those that don't, they are pleasantly rewarded. Be THAT place. Be hard to find. Daring and adventurous. Be something that D. C. scoffs at, as she heads to Old Country Buffet. If you build it, they will come.

Ambiance is off. Place should fix their lights . Area by the bar was too bright to be called "speakeasy " . All five of us wanted to finish our drinks and leave asap. Server was pushing to order more drinks and was giving attitude. Prices $14 -$20 for basically mini drinks. Ne-ver a-gain. Thanks .

The Fairmount

Eight (!) years ago my friend recommended her favorite place - The Fairmount. She emphasized that…read morethe ambiance and cocktails are something to experience. Eight years worth of Fairmount moments later, this review is well overdue. AMBIANCE: The ambiance allows you to slow down and enjoy your company. The restaurant is dim lit, has fireplaces, and loungey atmosphere. It somehow feels warm and I heard a lot of people refer to it as a second home (people are always so friendly here!). There is ample space - three bars, main dining space, and huge outdoor oasis bar. Nestled in Cedar Fairmount neighborhood, you'll also be able to enjoy historic neighborhood. There are seating arrangements if you're craving company or want to enjoy your date. Seating options include couches by the fireplace, tables, and high tops. Fairmount is delightful during every season. During the summer you can enjoy the bar and patio. In the winter you can dine at the igloos. I prefer all seasons here. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu at Fairmount is impressive and has exciting seasonal/weekly additions. You'll never get bored. The cocktails here are refined, very boozy, and very well crafted. The food is seriously delicious, and consistent every single time. I've been impressed with every dish. The dishes and drinks frequently follow the seasons. During my latest visit I enjoyed Butter Pecan Warm Cider with bourbon ($12, so bold and boozy, tastes like fall). I also ordered Fig Trouble Little China ($15, a more rich version of Old Fashioned, so delicious). I also tasted Short Rib & Risotto for the very first time ($28, such a delicious dish, every bite was just amazing). My favorites? Ah, so hard! I'll go with the Fairmount Burger! It's angus beef burger with bacon-fig chutney. It's so delicious! I can't even be serious about meat at the other burger places, this is easily the best burger in the city. My seasonal favorite? Kevin McCallister seasonal drink that resembles coquito or eggnog. The drink is topped with rice paper that includes the design of Kevin from Home Alone. It's such a fun tradition! I look forward to this drink all year and always tell the world about it! SERVICE: The service is excellent. I haven't been anywhere where service is right on point every single time. Everyone is nice - the owner, hosts, and waitstaff. You truly feel seen and like the most important guest. I've visited previously while on dates and frequently dine here solo, always had the most pleasant service. EVENTS: Many people book events here for their non-profits or companies. As far as individual events, Fairmount hosts a fun NYE party every year! PARKING: Onsite parking lot is available at the back of the building. You can enter through the front doors on Cedar or right through the parking lot door. There are numerous reasons why I love the Fairmount. I consider it to be the best dining experience in the Cedar Fairmount neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. I also love how the owner Jake is very engaged in the community and is incredibly friendly with the surrounding business owners. I'll choose this place again and again for calming ambiance, crafted cocktails, and delicious food. To many more years of Fairmount and at Fairmount!

Great food and service! The burger was juicy. The sticky rice bowl with tuna was fantastic!read more
