Ok, this place was amazing! Showed up and it looked closed. Probably intentional. Walk up the back steps, ring the bell, and they'll let you in. Short stroll thru the functioning barber shop and up the stairs. Better figure out how to get in once you get up there! Very original and felt like stepping back in time. Dark, old wood, and classic American furniture set the place back 100 years. Only ordered a beer since I was going to be driving but the bartender was fast and professional. During hours tou can enter the barbershop like any customer and head up the stairs. The trick bookshelf opens when you press the button inside a book. The ambiance of the speakeasy is as attractive as the cocktails the bartender makes.rich mahogany and comfortable leather club and wingback chairs with old movies playing quietly on a few tv screens. The vibe is very laid back perfect for enjoying a drink and conversation with a friend. One of my favorite places to introduce people to. I have had so many wonderful experiences there until recently. I bragged about Speakeasy for years to a friend and she asked if we could take her there for drinks and apps before her birthday dinner. When we arrived at 3:15 there was no code needed and the secret door was wide open which took away from the first cool experience. I told them the mixologists there were extremely creative. After reviewing the cocktail menu, I shared what I liked with the mixologist and asked her to create something for me. She brought me a drink off the menu. First time this has ever happened. I would not have ordered that drink which had sparking wine in it. I did not complain because I did not to put more of a damper on the experience for my friends. For our second round we just ordered off the menu. Drinks were okay but nothing special. I was disappointed with the cheese tray and ordered the spread tray as well. The bar service was rushed, not as attentive and special as I had experienced in all my visits before. After being there for about 45 min we were told that they were conducting a class shortly and we would have to relocate to the upper floor in a few. I was a bit disappointed after telling my guest for years about the very special, cool, laid back experience they would have if we go as soon as it opens. read more

I've been here twice and both times were great experiences. The path to get inside is quirky and fun and the speakeasy itself is great. Excellent service, strong, delicious drinks, and the food was delicious as well! The ambiance is cozy and intimate, easy to stay for a couple hours and converse with your companions. Quintana's definitely has speakeasy vibes because you have to be buzzed in from the back door (then go upstairs from the barber shop) and then find the right book to lift -- there will be a button to unlock the door (same thing to get out). Very cool design and nice speakeasy style decor, though a tad dark inside but that's probably the vibes. The bartender was very friendly and came to help us very quickly, and offered to make recommendations as well. They have a ton of lovely cocktails on the menu, and I wanted to try many of them, but I ended up getting the pink moon, which was refreshing and tasty (like the description says :D). We also got a charcuterie board to share, which was pretty big with two wedge slices of cheese, some bread, two rows of cured meats (interestingly cut as round slices instead of thin slices), some apricots and nuts over a tiny bit of salad. For two people, it was enough to fill us up as a medium meal. We didn't come on an event night, so it was fairly empty inside, only a few parties, but I saw a sign for events or music nights which I imagine would definitely draw a crowd. Their weekday HH is a 15% off deal so aim for that if you get the chance. Worth a visit, I enjoyed this speakeasy experience! read more

Really liked this place! Small, quaint typical speakeasy vibe. Thank goodness for yelp reviews which gave some indication how to get inside this place. The entrance door is in the back. You'll first see a Barbershop. Go upstairs & you'll see several doors but look for the book case. The secret to getting in lies in opening the correct book. They also have a 3rd level where some folks can gather but I didn't go up there. The mixologist was very knowledgeable & able to make the menu drinks or whatever you describe. As a mezcal drinker, I enjoyed one that was on the menu (don't recall name) & also the old fashion. It was close to closing when we were there on a Wed night so it was pretty empty. Enjoyed the quiet, laid back vibe. Would definitely return again. read more

Such a cute little speakeasy, something hard to come by in Cleveland, and located conveniently in Cleveland Heights! I've come twice in the evening for drinks and it has super cozy, living room vibes. The drinks are on the pricier side but they are unique, cute, and delicious. The bartender was so friendly and helpful. Definitely an awesome spot for a date or to hang with friends. I'm so glad that I stumbled across this gem when I was looking for happy hour places in the Cleveland Heights area. This place is a barbershop by day, and a speakeasy by night. Half of the fun is in discovering how to enter the place, and find all the secret entry ways to get you to the bar. I don't wanna spoil it at all, but it really was so fun. The drinks are on the pricier side, coming in around $14-$15 for the majority of the cocktails, but the drinks my friend and I had were both delicious. I don't recall the name of the one I got, but it was the one with elderflower and butterfly pea gin, and my friend had the one with lavender. This is definitely not a place for a big party, there was a group of five that came after we did, and I honestly don't think the bar could've accommodated a larger group. This is a great place to go with a party of two or three for an intimate evening. I appreciated how the restaurant had some finger food for us to enj. My friend and I got the charcuterie board, which was really delicious. They had two different cheeses, and two different meats, as well as some mustard, pickles, and nuts. Something about the pickles were just incredible. I definitely hope to come back and explore more of the menu, and definitely want to show this place tomorrow of my friends, but selfishly I also want to keep it a secret. read more

I felt a little awkward as a guy getting a pedicure, but needed work done on my feet. The ladies on the salon side were quite lovely and made it very comfortable for me. Anything you want done though you do want to make an appointment as this place is hopping! They do a good job and a lot of people know it. I really fell in love with the speakeasy barber side. Although I have been there to early for a drink! Lol. I sometimes like a shave on top of my head right down to the dome. This is a fun place to do it with great comfy chairs and a wonderful on point staff. Unless you are lucky right at 8, you probably want to make an appointment. But it will be worth it as they take care of more than just the hair on the head if need be like a barber shop of old and have a great assortment of products to have a gentleman looking his best. Absolutely love how you get in! That's what makes this place. Then there's the prohibition era decor, the club-like atmosphere and Peaky Blinders playing on loop. The vibe, the theme, the look, they got it on lock. The drink menu was pretty and varied. The drinks themselves tasted great! But the glasses were sooo skinny and iced/watered down and weak. Even for a lightweight, I thought the drinks were weak! I do appreciate the mocktail section but charging $8 for juice with mostly ice deserves a star off. The vibe was a lot of fun, the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing, the drinks were really terrific, the charcuterie board hit the spot, and the service was impeccable. At 4 pm, it was the perfect spot for a relaxed conversation; I can imagine the buzz and energy during primetime. Would definitely go back, especially early. The drinks were great! I got the dancing dead, it was delicious & not overly sweet or boozy. Margarita esque but definitely tasted expensive. The howling for nothing had that nutty flavor; couldn't exactly taste the pistachio, but for someone who typically does not go for boozy drinks, I would definitely order again. Three levels to the building- you buzz in and go up to the small middle floor where there is a bar. The upstairs third floor is like a small loft for maybe 8 people in three or four small groups. Very cozy. Buttons for service to be signaled when upstairs are helpful. Servers were very friendly. Drinks are eclectic or classic depending on which you choose. The 24K had mezcal and carrot juice among other ingredients and was super delicious- Like a smoky carrot. Both of my drinks were not strong or boozy at all, and seemed a bit weak especially because I've never had a scotch cocktail that wasn't in your face whisky forward. Not a big deal, I was there to socialize and not to get wasted but good to be aware of. The Gathering used cheese and peppercorn washed scotch and was super delicious with this mild umami note. Two weeks later and I'm still thinking about the delicious drinks I had at this place. What a wonderful Speakeasy. This is exactly what I want when I come to a speakeasy. Walk into a quaint and simple barbershop and spa just to go up some stairs which lead to a bookshelf and some doors. I'll let you figure out the rest when you go. (We had to be let in by the way.) Once inside we sat in a cozy corner where some chill music was playing. What I loved about the selection of music was that it was a mix between some amazing jazz music and lovely modern artists including jazz artists and some alternative and such, but it was a lovely variety. I personally love jazz, but for those who aren't a fan, it's a nice balanced mix. I think all speakeasys should play jazz since it's essential to the era speakeasys came about. But too the real stuff... The food we ordered was literally everything on the menu. We had a large group. The meat and cheeses were fresh and delicious. Now my go to drinks are bourbon based. I can usually never go wrong with an old fashioned. But in a speakeasy I like to order period drinks. Preferably drinks with egg white. I love the foam it makes. I am so glad I ordered the Whiskey Sour. It was exactly what I wanted. It wasn't too sweet, plenty of foam and could still taste the fantastic bourbon. Our time there wasn't long enough as we got there late, but this is a must on my next visit to Cleveland. What a treat. Keep it up. read more

The barbershop receptionist led us up after my haircut (avoid the barbershop too!), and told us that there was a private event but "she won't kick you out". We sat at the bar, and within 20 seconds an employee came over hurriedly and snapped at us and the receptionist and said "I CAN'T TAKE THEM RIGHT NOW", so we were escorted out. The tone and attitude were the real problem, aside from being told we would be allowed in in the first place. I got the I carried a watermelon cocktail that was $14 and my husband got a pour of Woodford Reserve Master Collections, which was $30 for a pour, which did seem to be on the heavier side. Attended a small get together in their private party room. Just like an old speakeasy you have to be buzzed in. The bar and private room are hidden behind 'secret' bookcases on the second and third floors of this renovated historic home, while a daytime barber shop and luxury spa are located on the first floor. Perfectly decorated with a real old time ease and feel. Olivia (bar manager) was so helpful in the planning and execution of the party I went to, which was a surprise marriage proposal. They have a buzzer in the private room to order drinks from the downstairs bar, tho we were well checked in on by the staff periodically. They have a small occupancy availability which helps give this gem its' relaxing and intimate atmosphere. I'd recommend calling before hand especially when you will be with a group. I also advise to check out their website for the best tips on how to get in, where to park and the menu. They have a small plate menu, our charcuterie board was tasty and beautifully presented. The cocktail menu is old school, unique and very well curated, even offering some special mocktails. Our drinks were made with fresh ingredients, skill and were enjoyed by the members of my party. If you're looking for an interesting experience with a flare of the past Quintanas is a great choice. I'd say it's a little more upscale and swanky, but definitely approachable for all. A perfect place for a special date night, small intimate party or just to unwind with a classic drink. We went on a Thursday around 5 and were the only party there but as we were leaving around 6, it started to fill up. Sitting in an old house on the main drag of Taylor, who would think you go to the back door, buzz at the blue light to be let into a barber shop! Walk a few steps thru the shop and go upstairs to a bookcase where a secret button opens the door! How cool is that? Once inside, is the sweetest little bar and coziest little sitting areas...all they need is a fireplace. Scratch that, because it is not possible, but you have banquet seating, high back chairs and a high table or two to seat up to four. Craft cocktails are made with expertise and scented liquors, block ice and herbs! They are not inexpensive, but if you are looking for an experience, $12 and $14 is the expected norm. It can get crowded, so hopefully you visit on a casual day. Perfect spot to hit after another spot for a wind down, perhaps a show or the theater! Moving halfway across the country is emotionally and physically exhausting. I don't know how people do it! We got here a few weeks ago from Oregon, got the animals settled in our new home and then looked at each other and said "WE NEED A DRINK!" So I pulled out my trusty Yelp app to find the closest bar to our house and find Quintana's. I had no idea what to expect when we arrived, but followed some folks who seemed to know what they were doing. We were asked if we had reservations, (Yikes! We didn't, but noted for next time!), but they let us in anyhow. Quintana's was the perfect way to decompress and download with each other after five long days of driving with four animals. The drinks were creative and delicious. The service was outstanding. The COVID protocols were top-notch. I can't believe our luck living so close to this awesome spot. I'll be back soon! read more
