Eight (!) years ago my friend recommended her favorite place - The Fairmount. She emphasized that the ambiance and cocktails are something to experience. Eight years worth of Fairmount moments later, this review is well overdue. AMBIANCE: The ambiance allows you to slow down and enjoy your company. The restaurant is dim lit, has fireplaces, and loungey atmosphere. It somehow feels warm and I heard a lot of people refer to it as a second home (people are always so friendly here!). There is ample space - three bars, main dining space, and huge outdoor oasis bar. Nestled in Cedar Fairmount neighborhood, you'll also be able to enjoy historic neighborhood. There are seating arrangements if you're craving company or want to enjoy your date. Seating options include couches by the fireplace, tables, and high tops. Fairmount is delightful during every season. During the summer you can enjoy the bar and patio. In the winter you can dine at the igloos. I prefer all seasons here. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu at Fairmount is impressive and has exciting seasonal/weekly additions. You'll never get bored. The cocktails here are refined, very boozy, and very well crafted. The food is seriously delicious, and consistent every single time. I've been impressed with every dish. The dishes and drinks frequently follow the seasons. During my latest visit I enjoyed Butter Pecan Warm Cider with bourbon ($12, so bold and boozy, tastes like fall). I also ordered Fig Trouble Little China ($15, a more rich version of Old Fashioned, so delicious). I also tasted Short Rib & Risotto for the very first time ($28, such a delicious dish, every bite was just amazing). My favorites? Ah, so hard! I'll go with the Fairmount Burger! It's angus beef burger with bacon-fig chutney. It's so delicious! I can't even be serious about meat at the other burger places, this is easily the best burger in the city. My seasonal favorite? Kevin McCallister seasonal drink that resembles coquito or eggnog. The drink is topped with rice paper that includes the design of Kevin from Home Alone. It's such a fun tradition! I look forward to this drink all year and always tell the world about it! SERVICE: The service is excellent. I haven't been anywhere where service is right on point every single time. Everyone is nice - the owner, hosts, and waitstaff. You truly feel seen and like the most important guest. I've visited previously while on dates and frequently dine here solo, always had the most pleasant service. EVENTS: Many people book events here for their non-profits or companies. As far as individual events, Fairmount hosts a fun NYE party every year! PARKING: Onsite parking lot is available at the back of the building. You can enter through the front doors on Cedar or right through the parking lot door. There are numerous reasons why I love the Fairmount. I consider it to be the best dining experience in the Cedar Fairmount neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. I also love how the owner Jake is very engaged in the community and is incredibly friendly with the surrounding business owners. Went for my boyfriend's birthday and he said this place was a 10/10! With daylight savings time it was dark as we were there and the warm lighting and wood interior makes it feel cozy and secluded. It gives subtle sexy. The wine storage looks grand too! I did not like my pumpkin spice tiramisu cocktail, ick but that's on me. I just found out through this experience I hate vanilla vodka :( Happy hour menu is 4-6 and some food is like $8 off. Feels like a good value. For elevated bar food it felt very expensive to me. Our bartender was great, was patient while we decided on cocktails and was helpful and knew the answers to our questions! This was my first time at this location. I met with some friends and it was such a good time. The hostess was very kind and welcoming. I arrived before my friends and was invited to walk around and check the place out. It was clean and not too busy inside which was really nice. There is a patio area and it was well attended as this is probably our last nice weekend of 2025 in Cleveland. The food was delicious. I tried the fried chicken sandwich and truffle fries. Dropped in for drinks and dinner on a Friday night and was not disappointed. Drinks and food were delicious. We arrived just a few minutes left in happy hour and grabbed our first round of beverages. My friends and I ordered the sesame crusted tuna as an appetizer, and it was delicious. Love the coating. For dinner each of us enjoyed our bowls. The spicy noodle bowl was delicious and I added chicken on top. It definitely does have some zest to it. Definitely a place to come back to, my only warning is that it does get a little loud when the place is full. read more

Had the BEST time with my girlfriends just before new years when we came to The Fairmount for a girls night get together. Our server, Tim, was very friendly and gave us great recommendations for fun cocktails, appetizers, and dessert. Our favorite rec was the made in house bread pudding, it was sensational and we still talk about it weeks later! The interior has a cozy and upscale feel with lots of seating, a fireplace, and dim lighting. We will definitely be coming back when all of us are in town again! read more

I saw someone post their tiramisu martini and thought that would be a delicious way to end the year so I decided to eat dinner here on New Year's Eve. I got there a little after four to be the New Year's Eve chaos. I got the tiramisu martini and the the chimichurri steak frites The martini was absolutely delicious it's $15 but I do think it's worth the price. I would definitely have one again. The chimichurri steak frites was pretty good flavor wise. I was a little disappointed because my food was not very hot at all. It was pretty Room tip, but I was super hungry and didn't want to take the chance of them reheating it and over cooking my steak so I ate it as is, which is why it only got four stars. I also got a slice of lemon cream cake to go I wish it was a little more tart It was pretty sweet. It also was frozen in the middle so that was a little disappointing read more

so good! probably the quickest service i've ever had in my life. like food was out in 5 minutes. it was 11 at night and we had just came out from the hospital and nothing was open. there's also a taco place next to it that looked good but we chose this place and glad we did! they have many gluten free and vegan options which is amazing for people with sensitivity's like me. we got a gluten free flatbread and a regular and while the gf one needed a littttle more baking time, the regular was the best pizza/flatbread crust i've ever had. soooooo amazing. such nice servers and also probably seating and room for 500people+. if you wanna have a crazy fun delish birthday party at 1am. GO HERE. also the pecan carmel bread pudding was recommended and i've never had bread pudding. but holy crap glad i did YUM. best place when it's late at night and you really need food. also i ate regular pizza and i have a gluten sensitivity and it didn't bother me. nice to have places that are high quality ingredients so we don't get sick all the time! read more

I came in with an idea of what I wanted after looking at photos on Yelp. Nothing I saw was on the menu! But that's completely fine. My short rib and mushroom risotto was delicious. My partner had the chicken sandwich which was incredible crispy with great flavor. It was a pretty busy night when we came in but the restaurant is large enough to accommodate intimate date nights or larger, loud groups. We originally had the Fairmount recommended to us by my step sister while we were visiting Cleveland and we fell in love at first visit. This spot is open late and has delicious drinks and food. They have indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of seating options with high top tables, bar seating, regular tables and even more loungey seating. The bartenders and servers are always friendly and are happy to make suggestions and answer questions if you have them. We were so happy they are open late, we recently visited Cleveland for just one night on a Monday and we wanted to meet with friends after seeing family all day. We wanted a late night spot with great vibes and this spot is perfect. We also love that there's a parking lot behind this strip of businesses which makes it a lot easier to stop by. It can still get busy on more popular nights, but on a Monday at 10:30pm-ish we had no problem. Finally tried this place after two failed attempts. It was not what I was expecting from a cocktail bar. The decor and ambiance was more like a classy restaurant than a bar. The service was a little slow due to it being a Saturday evening but the food was well worth the wait. It can only be described as elevated bar food. We shared the caramelized onion and short rib flatbread as an appetizer and it was delicious so creamy, crisp savory. My fish and chips were cooked and seasoned to perfection and my dad said that his Fairmount burger was delicious and cooked perfectly. For dessert we shared the fried ice cream and it was yummy. Texan visiting! I had the charred elote flatbread and it seriously blew me away. My friends all tried it and we would not shut up about it all dinner lol. Our waitress Kendyl was great but so was the bar back working tonight! I literally had to ask the host who our server was because it took almost 20 minutes before we were greeted by our waitress. For an appetizer, we opted for the lemon pepper hot honey wings. For our entrees, the hubs ordered a flatbread pepperoni pizza and I had a gluten-free fairmount burger with no cheese. My burger was good but the fries weren't. This was a really nice patio experience on a Friday night. It's a beautiful little area hidden away from the street, and the waiter was very kind and attentive. We had a very good burger and fries, which had excellent toppings and sauces. We also had the special of the night, which was a peanut noodle bowl. It appealed to us because it was full of a nice variety of veggies. But when the dish arrived, it was mostly noodles, with a sprinkling of different veggies. It had good flavor, but didn't blow us away. It was a lot of food, though, and we had leftovers! There's a really nice cocktail and beer menu, and there were maybe 5-7 beers on draft. Service was good and the menu was large and difficult to choose from since so many choices looked good! We shared the mint and pistachio whipped feta, and then ordered the lemon ricotta ravioli, the Szechuan noodle bowl, and the vegan white bean burger. Everything was great! I have fond memories of meeting friends here, post-work drinks, even my first date with my husband. It used to be a go-to, a place that felt both welcoming and lively. Unfortunately, it's changed. The vibe is off, and the service is consistently poor. We're often told it's "full" despite plenty of open tables, and it takes forever just to get acknowledged. The menu isn't what it used to be, and the food has become forgettable. It used to be something we'd look forward to--now it's just meh. Sadly, we only even consider going when we're out of other options, and every time we regret it. All you need to know about The Fairmount aside from their outrageously good happy hour is that they have the best burger in town. The Fairmount burger with Medjool date and bacon lardon chutney surrounded by brie and crispy shallots is heaven between two buns. The sweetness of the dates coupled with creamy brie as you bite into that delicious tender and juicy Angus patty makes this my absolute favorite burger in the city, hands down. Other honorable mentions from their menu are the rosemary bacon fries and cast iron brussels! Flatbreads are also decent and good for sharing between large groups. One last happy hour essential is a pitcher or two of Moscow Mules made with their house ginger beer. There's a reason why this is every Case student's go-to neighborhood bar - you'd be hard pressed to find better HH deals anywhere else in CLE! read more
