Bad Medicine is a vinyl bar inspired by Japanese Hi-Fi listening bar. Historically Hi-Fi listening bars became popular in post-war Japan as locations to listen to jazz and gather. How special it is that we have a vinyl bar in the city. I discovered this gem last year and have been in love ever since. AMBIANCE: The ambiance is dim and intimate. You'll see bartenders seamlessly switch vinyls from the owner's personal collection, gaze at the illuminated bar full of vinyls, drink from impeccable and thin glasses, be illumined by red light, and fully relax into the experience. The typical crowd varies - couples on date nights, friend groups, and then there's me solo loving Bad Medicine. It gives very sultry bar vibes. DRINKS: I like to explore drink menus trying mocktails and cocktails. Everything I've tried at Bad Medicine feels made from quality liquor and expertly made. Comparing across CLE's typical speakeasies is not possible, there's no comparison. I typically crave Old Fashioned but find it to be too pungent at other places. Here it's the smoothest thing you'll taste - Smoked Chai Old Fashioned ($15) . Sometimes I crave a mocktail while here and mocktails here are amazing. Let's just be real and admit that most places lack focus on mocktails and kind of throw them together. Not here. Mocktails here are equally delightful. I tried Japanese tea mocktail with lychee which is now discontinued but was so perfectly balanced. You can literally order blindfolded from the menu and still get amazing cocktails every single time. I can't brag enough about the drink menu. FOOD: There is a menu of plates and the food is top notch. I'm very much the one who skips veggies but even devoured Fried Cauliflower here. I also tried other dinner choices and was impressed. You won't be disappointed in food. SERVICE: Even when the bar is overwhelmed, the service tends to be very good. I like that there is no sacrifice to cocktail integrity and quality even during crowded periods. EVENTS: Bad Medicine now hosts DJ events. I visited one event and had a great time. The crowd was fun and in the mood for dancing. I'm penciling in some upcoming events. They're on their website and social media. PARKING: Street parking is available around the venue. I highly recommend a visit here. It's intimate, one of a kind location that everyone should experience at least once. I plan to stop in again this weekend to drink some cocktails and fully unwind.

We didn't eat anything. The drinks was great I had a few pineapple sazerac. The waitress was slow so it was faster just to go straight to the bar to order. The music was good the vibes was good

This is a review I've been meaning to write for a while. I tried bad medicine on a whim a few months ago on a solo Saturday. I was on a mission to try a something new, maybe a good cocktail and some cute vibes. That's exactly what I received. Bad medicine has "cool kid"vibes without being stuffy. The staff is super friendly and Nora makes amazing drinks. I like that they have the bartender's choice where you can choose a spirit and a cocktail category and leave the rest up to the person behind the bar, but I suggest trying some of their signature drinks. They offer some unique twists on classics, like their mojito with lemongrass. I recently took a group of friends and they all enjoyed the space as well. One thing to mention is that they strictly play vinyls. The vibe kinda depends on who is on duty that day and what they're feeling. Another unique feature of this spot. They also offer small plates. I need to try more of those but what I've had so far has been very tasty.

When your gps says you've arrived, look for the blacked out windows and sandwich board to find the entrance. If you're driving, there are a few spots directly across the street. Know that when you walk in, the music will be on and loud. The cocktail menu is curated with a full bar to support it. Be sure to check out the mocktails and NA beers if you're not imbibing. The cocktail I had was well crafted and spirit forward. Their food menu is small but powerful. Everything I tried, I'd have again! You can see the photos for the carrots, a salad, and a burger.

Very different menu style I like

"Stopped for a nightcap and it was perfect! The vibe was great and I loved the tequila cocktails - we tried two of the three options and both were delicious and very strong. Highly recommend giving it a try. Will definitely be back!"

Stopped in on a Tuesday after dinner, and they had a tiki night. Great drinks, great service, and great music!

whipped cheddar small plate

I was excited to try this place after viewing the website and seeing photos on instagram. I've been wanting to find a vinyl bar for a while. I was a little disappointed at the decor in the joint, it felt very bare, as if it opened the day before I arrived. The photos you see on the website and instagram are intentionally taken to give off a specific ambiance but there's whole walls, naked of any decor, with paint marks indicating they're still working on it. I'm hopeful that they continue decorating the place out and making it feel like a full fleshed out thought rather than centralized areas good for pictures. The service was good, friendly staff. It wasn't very busy, two tables besides us, maybe 3-4 people at the bar but I didn't receive my drink until after my small plate came out. The menu is very promising and due to the ambitious flavors, you end up just a tad disappointed. The whipped cheddar had a consistency like a thick cottage cheese and it tasted like it was missing something -- an acid perhaps, little lemon juice squeeze would do wonders, not enough honey for how much cheese is involved, not enough bread for the dip, and the sourdough was slightly over toasted, crumbling upon biting into it. It was yummy, don't get me wrong! I'm being extra picky because the clear ambitious pretentiousness that this place exudes. If they want to achieve the status they're portraying, it's these little things that matter. I got the maple glazed sweet potato as an entree, something a little different than what I would usually get. It comes on a bed of peanut stew and quite honestly, it tasted like it wanted to be a curry so bad. It would have been 30% better if it were a curry. The peanut stew is bland, undersalted, and too sweet to balance with the maple glazed sweet potato. Leaning into a curry inspiration would bring in additional flavors and layers that the dish is missing, some heat, some more herbs, etc. The chai old fashioned was good but they only use chai bitters to make the old fashioned "chai" and it doesn't make enough of a difference to me, as an avid old fashioned lover. They should do more to make the chai flavors shine through. It's a great spot. It is fairly newer to Cleveland so the notes I have are purely out of excitement for how this place could hold up in a higher level dining/bar environment. There's a lot of potential, it's just not hitting the mark quite yet. I'll definitely be back to see how things come together more, if dishes are adjusted, if they can commit to these ambitious flavors in meals and drinks.

I visited for the first time for lunch in late October 2025 with friends. After lunch, we all went…read moredownstairs to play mini golf and we had so much fun. FOOD -- I ordered the Slow Braised Pork ($22) which includes sweet potato gnocchi, fennel, crispy sage, and apple cider glaze. This was a delicious and very hearty meal. I hardly eat pork so I'm glad that I enjoyed the dish. The sweet potato gnocchi was perfectly paired with the pork. Everything in the dish just blended well together. All my friends enjoyed their food too, from the meatballs, calamari, burger with fries, ratatouille, and more. I nibbled on a few of them and loved it especially the wagyu meatballs. The food was all full of flavour. Service was nice all afternoon as the server came to check on us a few times including refilling our water glasses. MINI GOLF -- Head downstairs to play some games. You pay a fee and are then given score sheets. A friend's friend had surprisingly paid for all of us and I had no idea until the next day (for some reason I thought the mini golf was included in the lunch cost...LOL). Each golf game has a different course with some being more challenging than others. I recommend Birdietown Mini Golf and Lounge for a fun day of mini golf plus lunch. I can see myself coming back again. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 48/250 total reviews in 2026 - 889 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 24 April 2026

We have 8-10 people so they just had us split into two, which was fine. The vibe was great, felt very upscale. My group mostly got mocktails. I felt like for just juice it was definitely over priced, because I felt like I was just drinking lemonade as we were playing mini golf. We only paid to play the upstairs holes, and it was good enough for us. We did not make a reservation for dinner which we regretted, but they were able to get us two tables in the downstairs area. Not a traditional seating, it was very comfy with one side being a booth and the otherwise having two comfy lounge chairs. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was large and delicious. The chicken was well fried and the bread was so good. The fries were good, but the aioli was 12/10, so so so good! The food did take some time to come, but they were busy and were kind enough to find a spot for us. I told the staff it was someone birthday in our group and they brought a special birthday dessert which we al tried and it was great. Their menu is worth the price and the vibe is definitely jeans and a nice shirt, or a casual dress. Perfect for date night or a birthday dinner, and I look forward to coming back. The TLDR: staff was really nice, food was great, mocktails a little expensive, and the mini golf was super fun.

CLE's best kept secret!…read more A few of my friends raved about Smoke & Mirrors, so I finally checked it out. I stopped in during Stargazers Ball hosted by YoreCraeft Productions. It was a fun cosmic costume party at Smoke & Mirrors. Smoke & Mirrors delivers on their promise, there are mirror accents and intermittent smoke. They also have a lot of silver accents that have a cool juxtaposition with the cave look. You can find this nightclub underground at Clandestina on West 25th. Enter the club by going through mezcalería (Clandestina) and going downstairs. The club calls themselves "subterranean catacomb club." I'd describe it as a nightclub giving off speakeasy vibes with some exposed brick, cave vibes, and sultry red illumination. It's a very mysterious dungeon looking club. It's raw and unusual for the local nightclub scene in the very best of ways. The coolest space in this club is the once upon a time coal room that serves as a little private nook to sip your cocktails. The rest of the club has one dance floor, some comfy seats against the wall, and a small bar. It's very intimate. The club is mostly known for its EDM DJs. Don't expect big names but expect good music. You can find their lineup on their IG @smokeandmirrorscle. They're open on Thursdays for karaoke, and Saturdays for DJ and dancing. The party that I attended had a lot of dancing and good vibes. The club seems to have a cover charge, but the amount is not shared on their socials. The menu consists of cocktails, craft beer, and wine, which is a generous selection for a night club. There were some themed cocktails during my visit ranging from $8-$14. I certainly plan to stop by during a regular weekend night to check out the full experience and DJ's. You should too. If you drop in, stop Clandestina bathroom for a selfie with flattering light. Can't wait for my next visit!

I was excited to stop in for a cocktail. We love finding quaint new places with an interesting appeal and from afar this certainly met those details. However, we stopped in this past Saturday, for my daughter's birthday celebration. I was super pumped to come back - ( see sentences above! ) Anyway, 4 of us walked in ( there would be a total of 6 ) and while yes it's small, not too small for a small party of 6. There was a couple at the bar and a girl who was drinking a mimosa in a robe so I think it's safe to assume she was getting a treatment from the spa. We had been inside about 10-15 minutes with no bar tender or staff to be seen. I saw the couple received their drinks but while we were taking pics, I never saw a staff member- so I asked them if there was anyone taking orders. He said yes, they were in other room. Still nobody coming out. Our other two members of our party arrived and we looked at menus and still no one. Finally, a girl comes out. Walks over, does not even say hello, and says: do you want drinks?!?! We put our orders in and 1 minute later she comes out and says, um this table is reserved ( or something close to that ) in 20 minutes and actually we will probably need both tables soooo.........so I guess that was our que to say never mind. I guess had they come out and taken our order when we first arrived it would have been fine, but we weren't looking to do shots with our full size drinks. No apologies or anything just like ok bye when we said we would go somewhere else. So here's my input: 1. Sacred Hour- do not advertise this space to the outside community if you can only accommodate your clients that are receiving services. 2. Train your staff. A hello, A greeting, something, anything. Not - "do you want drinks?!" That in itself was so distasteful. Not to mention the prices of drinks are not cheap. This is an upscale place ( or appears to be ) 3. Bottom line- we will not return. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I would return back to this location for my spa services either. I think that people have forgotten how to be courteous and polite. People do not realize ( or maybe they do and just don't care ) that the reason they stay in business is because of their customers. Treating your customers with kindness is epic. You know the old saying - you get more bees with honey?!? Well, Tribu- maybe you should rethink this and add it to your training instead of coffee or tea!
