    Earl Grey Smoked Duck Breast

I've been here for Sunday brunch and dinner. Dinner was a few years ago and not too memorable, but I was intrigued by the brunch menu so I gave Rood another try. Needless to say, it was worth it! For brunch we had the pork belly Benedict and sausage and gravy. The pork belly is smoked and tender; not fatty at all. The hollandaise sauce is tangy and pairs perfectly! And the burrata is the perfect compliment. The gravy and sausage is served over potato mochi sticks rather than biscuits. As a potato lover, this was chefs kiss!! I loved the crisp potato stick and soft fluffy interior. Our server was also very attentive. I dropped my knife and before I could finish chewing and pick it up, she had already swung by and cleaned it up. 10/10.

Made a reservation for a date night and stopped in last night. At first I was very much disappointed in our seating. We were at an extremely small table right at the front door, squished right between another small table and the host stand. Every time the door opened I shivered from the cold. We had planned on the 7 course experience, but after talking to our waiter we opted out. The food was great for the most part. We, like everyone else here has mentioned, loved the rolls so much. I also enjoyed the potatoes and my husband the mussels. We ordered the duck and the chicken and dumplings; neither really stood out. I was bummed about that. But our server was super attentive and friendly which is my biggest thing when dining out. We want to come back, but will probably stick to small plates and ask to be seated elsewhere.

Rood is a well known restaurant in Lakewood. I've visited Rood in its various iterations - under old ownership, as they vendored in CLE, and under the new ownership. It seems that this restaurant brand is evolving into its best self, always creating, and keeping things exciting. AMBIANCE: Relaxed during the day. Dim and sultry during the evening. Exposed brick walls, neon signs, and mood lighting makes it very trendy and very Lakewood. It's certainly a great place to have an intimate date or fun day out with friends. I love dim lighting and relaxing atmosphere so this is absolutely my vibe. FOOD: Rood is very well known for pies. Whether it's a piece of pie for dessert or a whole pie to go. I tried pies under the old ownership. I ordered Salt & Honey whole pie. It comes with an entire vile of bee pollen. It was very cute but I can't say it was the best pie I've had. It wasn't too crumble-y for me. I'm curious to try this pie again under new ownership. My last dinner at Rood was a special collaboration between Voyager Beverage. It was an intimate Spanish tasting experience with Spanish wines and Spanish-inspired foods. The dinner was priced at $125 including gratuity and taxes. I attended this dinner with a group of my girlfriends. The dinner was multi-course with each course paired with wine. Dishes were pretty innovative - charcuterie from Astoria, Mackerel Escabeche, Spanish Corned Ham, Smoke Beef Tongue, and Tocino de Cielo. The portions were petite but delicious. Mackerel Escabeche was the most interesting. The fish was removed from the tin cans and oil left. The oil was solidified to create a candle. Once burned, it would go to its original oil state. We'd dip bread into this oil. I enjoyed the dishes and the presentation. The meat was especially tender which is hard to master. I also liked the community style table. SERVICE: The new owners are Rood are very friendly. They always remember me from community events and are in general very pleasant. Every guest is asked about their experience and satisfaction. During our special dinner the dinner and dessert chefs shared the stories of dishes and ingredients. All ingredients seemed to be locally or sustainably sourced. I really enjoyed my collective experiences at Rood. Service is the best thing about Rood to me. You truly feel welcome and remembered. I can't wait to go back, try more pies, and discover a favorite before Thanksgiving.

Rood is a great beautiful spot. It's not too big so it still feels intimate. I love that the menu is updated and tweaked often. The good news the pie is always fresh. It's the reason I take a lot of people there. Pro tip: get the elote dip

I really wanted to like Rood more, but it was simply fine. Nothing about it was bad at any point, but very little stood out as good. The cocktails were consistently okay, with a decent espresso martini, and a good-ish martini. None of the cocktails were bad or wrong, they just didn't feel exciting or new either. The vibes were not hitting hard, but we stayed and ate a lot of food. The service was clear, kind, and happy to help, but it wasn't as warm as one would have liked. The elote was fine, salad okay, and other apps didn't shine, but were totally okay. The bread course was actually better than most of the apps. The pastas were honestly very mid - good sauce on the gnocchi, but very little excellent food. We did get a fish and that was good. Rood succeeded in serving us decent American fare in Cleveland on a rough day for me, but it wasn't award winning.

I had their potato and gravy breakfast with the vegan gravy and it was so flavorful and delicious. I also had their mint, cucumber, kiwi, and like sorbet and it was to die for! I will for sure be going back for brunch and excited to check them out for dinner. The service was great everyone was kind and helpful and I loved the vibe.

You honestly can't go wrong with Rood. The service was fantastic, the food is delicious and the pie is exceptional.

Truly my favorite brunch place as of right now. The food, the service and the restaurant were super fab. We were a party of 8 women and our server was so patient. We did have to pay on one check which was slightly annoying but not the end all of end alls. The drinks were fun and delicious. The presentation of the food was pretty. Big portions! You are missing out if you don't check ROOD out. I can't wait to go back!

The pie! I am not a pie person at all, but the salt + honey pie is top tier. Along with the bee pollen and mini glass jar for it. I'm told it tastes like cheesecake, but it's better than that and full of flavor. Prices are kind of ridiculous for a small piece of pie. If it gets any higher than it already is, then I may have to stop coming. But the vibe is really nice. Service is decent overall too.

Tried out their brunch and the best part is they charge the tiniest cork fee and you can bring your own alcohol! They offer juices for just $2 a serving. Our favorite dish was the potato puffs. We ordered 3 rounds of it. It was crispy on the outside and puffy soft inside with fantastic seasoning. It was an umami salty flavor. The mushroom and waffles were huge and worth the price. The mushrooms were large and crispy and could easily replace chicken for vegetarians. The French toast was also huge and had great flavor with plantains. The omelette I wish had a stronger Asian flavor. The sauce was good but the omelette itself could've had more Thai basil flavoring. Our least favorite was the Irish breakfast toast because it was quite mushy.

What a fun and interesting place! This is not the place for someone who doesn't try new things or isn't adventurous! The drink menu looked great but I did not indulge. The food was good. I had the wild boar gnocchi, it wasn't like traditional gnocchi, it was like they made a gnocchi log and didn't chop it up ! The flavor was wonderful. My friend had the duck and raved over it! And my other friend had the wagyu and said he wish he had the duck! The service was nice and not too quick to get you out! You best make a reservation because we almost got stuck with 3 people at a high top, but luckily someone canceled so we got moved to table! It was pretty dark inside, loud but not to the point you can't hear! We all had pie for dessert, it was good but nothing crazy! 8/10 for the pie! We tried the pb cheesecake, lemon and raspberry pie and the apple with custard.

Came right after 4pm on a weekday for Happy hour and was seated immediately! The seats near the windows have lots of natural light; the rest is a bit darker, with moody lighting and candles on each table. The space filled up fast after 6pm (almost empty before), with the wait time for food noticeably increasing. All of the appetizers are to die for! Our party of 3 split 5 apps and it was more than enough to fill us for dinner. Will definitely be back, even if just to pick up some pie

I wanted to love this, but it was just okay. And when I factored in the price, it wasn't worth it. We ordered 3 different pies and I none of them blew me away. The salted honey was my favorite, but no one else in my family even liked it.

FOOD -- I ordered the Slow Braised Pork ($22) which includes sweet potato gnocchi, fennel, crispy sage, and apple cider glaze. This was a delicious and very hearty meal. I hardly eat pork so I'm glad that I enjoyed the dish. The sweet potato gnocchi was perfectly paired with the pork. Everything in the dish just blended well together. All my friends enjoyed their food too, from the meatballs, calamari, burger with fries, ratatouille, and more. I nibbled on a few of them and loved it especially the wagyu meatballs. The food was all full of flavour. Service was nice all afternoon as the server came to check on us a few times including refilling our water glasses. MINI GOLF -- Head downstairs to play some games. You pay a fee and are then given score sheets. A friend's friend had surprisingly paid for all of us and I had no idea until the next day (for some reason I thought the mini golf was included in the lunch cost...LOL). Each golf game has a different course with some being more challenging than others. I recommend Birdietown Mini Golf and Lounge for a fun day of mini golf plus lunch. We only paid to play the upstairs holes, and it was good enough for us. We did not make a reservation for dinner which we regretted, but they were able to get us two tables in the downstairs area. Not a traditional seating, it was very comfy with one side being a booth and the otherwise having two comfy lounge chairs. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was large and delicious. The chicken was well fried and the bread was so good. The fries were good, but the aioli was 12/10, so so so good! The food did take some time to come, but they were busy and were kind enough to find a spot for us. I told the staff it was someone birthday in our group and they brought a special birthday dessert which we al tried and it was great. Their menu is worth the price and the vibe is definitely jeans and a nice shirt, or a casual dress. Perfect for date night or a birthday dinner, and I look forward to coming back. The TLDR: staff was really nice, food was great, mocktails a little expensive, and the mini golf was super fun.

It was a fun cosmic costume party at Smoke & Mirrors. Smoke & Mirrors delivers on their promise, there are mirror accents and intermittent smoke. They also have a lot of silver accents that have a cool juxtaposition with the cave look. You can find this nightclub underground at Clandestina on West 25th. Enter the club by going through mezcalería (Clandestina) and going downstairs. The club calls themselves "subterranean catacomb club." I'd describe it as a nightclub giving off speakeasy vibes with some exposed brick, cave vibes, and sultry red illumination. It's a very mysterious dungeon looking club. It's raw and unusual for the local nightclub scene in the very best of ways. The coolest space in this club is the once upon a time coal room that serves as a little private nook to sip your cocktails. The rest of the club has one dance floor, some comfy seats against the wall, and a small bar. It's very intimate. The club is mostly known for its EDM DJs. Don't expect big names but expect good music. You can find their lineup on their IG @smokeandmirrorscle. They're open on Thursdays for karaoke, and Saturdays for DJ and dancing. The party that I attended had a lot of dancing and good vibes. The club seems to have a cover charge, but the amount is not shared on their socials. The menu consists of cocktails, craft beer, and wine, which is a generous selection for a night club. There were some themed cocktails during my visit ranging from $8-$14. I was excited to stop in for a cocktail. We love finding quaint new places with an interesting appeal and from afar this certainly met those details. However, we stopped in this past Saturday, for my daughter's birthday celebration. I was super pumped to come back - ( see sentences above! ) Anyway, 4 of us walked in ( there would be a total of 6 ) and while yes it's small, not too small for a small party of 6. There was a couple at the bar and a girl who was drinking a mimosa in a robe so I think it's safe to assume she was getting a treatment from the spa. We had been inside about 10-15 minutes with no bar tender or staff to be seen. I saw the couple received their drinks but while we were taking pics, I never saw a staff member- so I asked them if there was anyone taking orders. He said yes, they were in other room. Still nobody coming out. Our other two members of our party arrived and we looked at menus and still no one. Finally, a girl comes out. Walks over, does not even say hello, and says: do you want drinks?!?! We put our orders in and 1 minute later she comes out and says, um this table is reserved ( or something close to that ) in 20 minutes and actually we will probably need both tables soooo.........so I guess that was our que to say never mind. I guess had they come out and taken our order when we first arrived it would have been fine, but we weren't looking to do shots with our full size drinks. No apologies or anything just like ok bye when we said we would go somewhere else. So here's my input: 1. Sacred Hour- do not advertise this space to the outside community if you can only accommodate your clients that are receiving services. 2. Train your staff. A hello, A greeting, something, anything. Not - "do you want drinks?!" That in itself was so distasteful. Not to mention the prices of drinks are not cheap. This is an upscale place ( or appears to be ) 3. Bottom line- we will not return. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I would return back to this location for my spa services either. I think that people have forgotten how to be courteous and polite. People do not realize ( or maybe they do and just don't care ) that the reason they stay in business is because of their customers. Treating your customers with kindness is epic. You know the old saying - you get more bees with honey?!? Well, Tribu- maybe you should rethink this and add it to your training instead of coffee or tea!
