Chicken Grana Padano
Allyson P.

Tried Summer Place for dinner with the family and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful inside. We had a table by the window in the bar area with a gorgeous view of the lake, which made for such a nice atmosphere. We started with the Crispy Brussels Sprouts with chili-maple aioli, red onions, no almonds due to my husband's allergy, and mint, along with the Cauliflower Wings served with house buffalo sauce and ranch. Both appetizers were flavorful and a great start to the meal. I ordered the Faroe Island Salmon with sweet chili glaze, wasabi mashed potatoes, and Szechuan broccoli salad, and really enjoyed the combination of flavors. My husband ordered the Chicken Grana Padano with crispy chicken cutlet, Sunday gravy, truffle sacchetti, and a lemon-arugula salad with grana and sun-dried tomatoes, which he really enjoyed. My younger son ordered the 6 oz filet mignon, while my oldest son went with the Gold Coast Burger topped with aged cheddar, peppered dry-aged bacon, crunchy malt vinegar aioli, lettuce, and Kool-Aid pickles, served with housemade fries. We were intrigued by the Kool-Aid pickles and were told they're actually marinated in Kool-Aid. For dessert, we shared the Chocolate Mousse Cake and the Creme Brulee, which were both delicious and the perfect ending to the meal. Unfortunately, my son and I both ended up with stomachaches not too long after leaving, which put a bit of a damper on the experience and why I am giving this a 4-star review. That said, the atmosphere and location were wonderful, and I'd still like to come back sometime during happy hour because their happy hour menu and pricing looked really good.

Our server Tara was excellent. She had expertise timing. She was available but not over intrusive. We had a party of 8 and 4. Unfortunately, they couldn't put us together, but we made it work. The location has a spectacular view of Cleveland's skyline. Even with some haze, it was lovely. The food was a hit with everyone. We started with the clothesline bacon and a cinnamon roll. It was perfect for our table. The bacon was not candied as described. It was good, but not something I'd order again for the price. 5 "ok" sugared bacon. The presentation was cute and the blueberry preserves were tasty. The sliced baguette toast was way too hard (break a tooth hard). My Florentine Benedict was cooked perfect,y. I opted for the fruit instead of the potatoes. I didn't realize it would be a $4.00 add on, but it was fresh and all the fruit was perfect. Others had the chicken and waffles, with a side of blueberry sausage, a smash burger and various yummy cocktails. My pomegranate mimosa was delicious and the plump blackberry was scrumptious. The family wall of pictures was a great tribute to life, family, love and Michael T Joseph who sadly died too young. It's a wonderful place to go with friends and family. I highly recommend when you're looking for a special place. Looking forward to coming back. PS: please donate to https://www.awakeningangels.org !

I caught wind that Summer Place recently started doing lunch, so a coworker and I decided to give it a go while I was in town one day. It was actually my first time ever being here and I thought it was absolutely lovely. The location right on the water and the space itself is enough to make you say, "wow." It's seriously beautiful and definitely gives off "right on the water" vibes. It was almost as if we escaped to the beach for the day. We were seated immediately right along the windows that face Lake Erie and the service was top notch from start to finish. While there were many things on the menu that looked enticing, I opted for the blackened cod tacos with a house side salad. For starters, the house side salad was actually quite big and while simple, it was refreshing, which was exactly what I was craving. The tacos (3) were, of course, the star of the show and did not disappoint. I actually ate every bite. The cod was flavorful and the fresh guacamole on top was a great touch. I would have liked the cabbage slaw to be more finely shredded, but that's just a personal preference. It came with a side of rice that I also enjoyed. I'm definitely intrigued enough to come visit again for dinner sometime. Since I don't live in Cleveland I couldn't say when, but it's been added to my list. I can only imagine how great of a spot this would be for happy hour during the summer!

Walleye sandwich, salad, and slaw

Summer Place recently started serving lunch and it was phenomenal! I got a fried walleye sandwich and side salad instead of fries. The fish was cooked perfectly. It seemed both perfectly seared and perfectly fried at the same time. Great brioche bun. My side salad was a great size also. The menu has a good variety of options including fish tacos, a burger and a few big plate options, as well as a you-pick-three with a choice of soup, salad, and half sandwich. Of course the views are unbeatable and the service was good. This is a fantastic new lunch option.

I had been meaning to try Summer Place for quite awhile and a 70+ degree day in March seemed like a great reason to finally head over. As I was looking up their info, I saw that their happy hour extended to the weekend which was even better. I was rolling solo so I decided to just grab a seat at the bar. The lake views alone are worth a visit, but luckily I also experienced tasty food and great service (shoutout to Anna and crew!). I really want to try brunch next and can see this being a Summer happy hour staple.

The hanging bacon was the star of the show!!! The environment is incredible, it feels like you're transported to a different city! And the view of the lake is unbeatable. Our waitress was kind, patient, and went through the menu with us to pick these out :)

We started our Sunday Fun Day off right at Summer Place. Before you walk in, you indulge in lakefront and city backdrop views. Once you open the door, the entry way has a refreshing, lightly perfumed smell, then you open the main doors to a modern, cozy restaurant. The staff was incredibly polite, team oriented with multiple people taking dishes and checking in outside of your server, and the natural light from dozens of windows kept you smiling. Not only did they build the space with great intention, part of your bill and the interior design reflects a sweet message of supporting a foundation with Down syndrome and autism. You can read more on their website site, the back of the menu, and by admiring the hundreds of photos on your way to the restroom. We started with a latte and cappuccino and had a pretty basic breakfast but it hit the spot. Great temperature, flavor, and we finished with the cinnamon roll for dessert.

The food here was overall not good. There was minimal dressing on the salad and the toast for the avocado was extremely dry and crumbly. The saving grace was the cinnamon roll. Cocktails were overall good. Service was a little slow. Music was very loud and fast like a sort of club vibe which felt a little out of place with the vibe and food.

Since Summer Place started doing lunch, I have been going a lot more! The menu has a wide variety of options which include a trio deal where you can get soup and a sandwich and salad! Highly recommend checking out their lunch menu! It is quiet during the day and the service is fast.

The ambience in this place was amazing from the dim lighting to the decor to the view outdoors. It's a great place to die. The service could have been a little more attentive and timely. The menu isn't overwhelming, so it is easy to choose from. It's a good visit.

Sparerib hash-browns & eggs, deviled eggs with caviar and the freshest salad ever!!

Stumbled into this lovely restaurant while exploring Playhouse Square area and had a wonderful lunch on the water. We did not have reservations but were welcomed most graciously. Atmosphere was light & bright and the food was superb. Learned they are just starting to bring in chefs for sushi and can't wait to return one day for a taste. Awesome staff btw!!

Kimchi short rib

I eat here frequently and the food is always good and they have a great happy hour. I'm pretty sad the got rid of the short rib with kimichi it was the best ! But overall great place and it's beautiful right by the lake.

I can't believe I've waited so long to try this place. Their happy hour menu is amazing. It's not very common to find a good weekend happy hour but this place has it. I came on a Sunday and there was a nice crowd but my sister and I still managed to grab seats at the bar. The food came out fast and they had generous portions. It's decorated very nice and the drinks were on point! I had a burger and I'd get it again minus the pickles. They were a neon green and super sweet which I didn't care for. I'll be back when the weather breaks to try more menu items.

Brunch was very good. Not really a bigger fan, you're served here. Just a little loud, so be aware!

Yes! The Harry Buffalo Lakewood location is handicap accessible. Your mom should have no trouble getting around with her walker. If you need any assistance, the staff will be happy to help! Enjoy!

Not as of now, but the inside is beautiful and food was fantastic.

For my entree, I had the cauliflower Milanese. It was really good. Perfectly breaded cauliflower and a nice salad on top. I will say it was expensive for an entree that didn't have a protein ($19). I'm a vegetarian so my options were limited but I would've liked maybe some tofu or beans to go with it to make it more substantial. My boyfriend had the lobster roll and really enjoyed it. For golf, we could only play the top floor course because there was a private party downstairs which was kind of disappointing. But the golf was fun. Fairly easy course and didn't have to wait too long for the group in front of us. I'd definitely like to come back and try the downstairs!

FOOD -- I ordered the Slow Braised Pork ($22) which includes sweet potato gnocchi, fennel, crispy sage, and apple cider glaze. This was a delicious and very hearty meal. I hardly eat pork so I'm glad that I enjoyed the dish. The sweet potato gnocchi was perfectly paired with the pork. Everything in the dish just blended well together. All my friends enjoyed their food too, from the meatballs, calamari, burger with fries, ratatouille, and more. I nibbled on a few of them and loved it especially the wagyu meatballs. The food was all full of flavour. Service was nice all afternoon as the server came to check on us a few times including refilling our water glasses. MINI GOLF -- Head downstairs to play some games. You pay a fee and are then given score sheets. A friend's friend had surprisingly paid for all of us and I had no idea until the next day (for some reason I thought the mini golf was included in the lunch cost...LOL). Each golf game has a different course with some being more challenging than others. I recommend Birdietown Mini Golf and Lounge for a fun day of mini golf plus lunch. I was excited to stop in for a cocktail. We love finding quaint new places with an interesting appeal and from afar this certainly met those details. However, we stopped in this past Saturday, for my daughter's birthday celebration. I was super pumped to come back - ( see sentences above! ) Anyway, 4 of us walked in ( there would be a total of 6 ) and while yes it's small, not too small for a small party of 6. There was a couple at the bar and a girl who was drinking a mimosa in a robe so I think it's safe to assume she was getting a treatment from the spa. We had been inside about 10-15 minutes with no bar tender or staff to be seen. I saw the couple received their drinks but while we were taking pics, I never saw a staff member- so I asked them if there was anyone taking orders. He said yes, they were in other room. Still nobody coming out. Our other two members of our party arrived and we looked at menus and still no one. Finally, a girl comes out. Walks over, does not even say hello, and says: do you want drinks?!?! We put our orders in and 1 minute later she comes out and says, um this table is reserved ( or something close to that ) in 20 minutes and actually we will probably need both tables soooo.........so I guess that was our que to say never mind. I guess had they come out and taken our order when we first arrived it would have been fine, but we weren't looking to do shots with our full size drinks. No apologies or anything just like ok bye when we said we would go somewhere else. So here's my input: 1. Sacred Hour- do not advertise this space to the outside community if you can only accommodate your clients that are receiving services. 2. Train your staff. A hello, A greeting, something, anything. Not - "do you want drinks?!" That in itself was so distasteful. Not to mention the prices of drinks are not cheap. This is an upscale place ( or appears to be ) 3. Bottom line- we will not return. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I would return back to this location for my spa services either. I think that people have forgotten how to be courteous and polite. People do not realize ( or maybe they do and just don't care ) that the reason they stay in business is because of their customers. Treating your customers with kindness is epic. You know the old saying - you get more bees with honey?!? Well, Tribu- maybe you should rethink this and add it to your training instead of coffee or tea!
