Mac and cheese during Apres Ski

Patron Saint Cafe + Bar is the equivalent to an Italian vacay without leaving CLE (Hingetown). The cafe is located at the historic Vitrolite building in Hingetown. Vitrolite used to be a manufacturer of glass and its tiles in the original showroom are well preserved in the space. It gives is an extra dash of character. I have been a fan girl of Patron Saint since it's been under construction and loved it so very much ever since it opened. AMBIANCE: Relaxed and always sunlit experience. Grandeur looking dining room with gorgeous arches and ample sunlight. The space has a bar, tables, and breakfast bar. Bottle shop is available with merch (like pastel tees) and wine. It's an ideal location for solo dining or dates. The Vitrolite also houses the Matriarchy (women-owned business space), Harness Cycle (trendy cycle studio), and Soul Space (lovely yoga studio). You can access these businesses right from the cafe. The building is in close proximity to other notable local landmarks like the Transformer Station. Patron Saint is a perfect stop after your yoga or cycling class. Or for a relaxed dinner. Or really for any occasion. I typically take myself on solo dates here, and love every minute. FOOD: I have been going to Patron Saint since its opening. I have been impressed with every single dish and drink here. Drinks are very well crafted. Food is a work of art. My favorites are egg in purgatory, croissants, and aperitivos. My friends rave about cortados and the olive cake. Literally, we had a group chat dedicated to Patron Saint's olive cake. It's that good! During my last visit I ordered Pork Meatballs ($16) and Stuffed Peppers Special ($6). Both very perfectly hearty small plates, the right amount of food. Pork meatballs were topped with thinly sliced veggies and the meat quality tasted top notch. Stuffed peppers were mini peppers with a bit of spice. I really enjoyed both. Specials are always available at Patron Saint. It's currently Negroni week. They host a fun Après Ski week during winter. Oyster nights are a thing here. There are constantly new surprises and specials. I love to explore new things on the menu. SERVICE: Service is excellent every single time. Staff is always very genuine, warm, and kind. It's surreal really. Staff also always recommends what's best on the menu, patiently answers your questions, and even creates something off the menu (like drinks). I love Patron Saint Cafe + Bar. It's easily in my top 5 local places. I almost always stop in while at Hingetown. I very highly recommend it. Personally, I'd love to co-work here next time with breakfast, top notch coffee and surrounded by sunlight.

What a gem! Needed to work outside the house and finally visited Patron Saint to sip and work on a Friday afternoon. The brothy beans and greens dish was absolutely delectable. Spring peas & radish was the perfect, fresh lemony accompaniment. We were wowed by the budino di novi for dessert. If you go to do some work, outlets are available at the bar and counter by the windows but not at the tables.

Beautiful building with friendly service who answered all our questions. Fun decor and ambiance with a wide array of menu options. Wish where was more protein options to go with the cocktails and coffee though.

Upon entering Patron Saint you immediately notice the beautiful architecture. The walls and ceiling could tell stories. Not having been there I ask a woman at the bar for assistance. Staff brought us menus and we ordered using the QR code on the table. You pay your bill and tip before getting your meal or you can choose to run a tab. We both ordered a meal and a coffee/coffee drink. Each item in our order was delivered to the table at a different time. My husband was finished with his meal before mine arrived at the table. My drip coffee came out quickly but the latte came out after we finished our meals. We had some questions about the menu. There was staff in and out of the dining room, but it seemed they were moving quickly and not checking on tables. The menu directs you to go to the bar for a refill of coffee if you would like. The food was good. Portions were on the smaller side. They had a wine sale and retail area. Overall it was an ok experience.

The ambiance of this tiny spot on Detroit is quaint, modern, and stylish. It's classy without being stuffy, and perfect for a girl's meet up or an intimate date night. There is a lovely bar, but also table seating. Large windows, muted pastels and warm woods with worn floors make you feel like this spot has been here for 100 years. (And it probably has, just not as a cafe) We enjoyed delicious house specialty drinks, and the meat platter with the chicken sausage stuffed peppers. This is a good place for small plates. There are entrees and salads as well, but we just went for some starters. Will definitely be back!

Like the Room of Requirement, Patron Saint is whatever you need it to be, when you need it. Morning coffee and pastry? Check. Brunch with the girls? Check. Office for the day? Check. Post-work (or pre-work) drink? Check and check. The entrance is easy to miss, and parking around the area (Hingetown) is also hit or miss depending on the time of day. But it's almost always bustling in here, and for good reason. First come, first serve seating anywhere you like - from booths, tables, window counter, or bar. There are outlets located at the bar and counter, if you intend to make this your camp for the day. None of the chairs are particularly comfy but the atmosphere is so charming that it's easy to forget. One of the waitstaff will magically appear and drop off a QR code, menu, and bottle of water in short order. I'm a fan of the virtual order and pay system, which allows everyone in a group to pay their tab separately without the nonsense of calculating off a shared receipt. But this can be confusing to those who haven't used it before. This also is preferable for me as someone who prefers to avoid situations where waiters ask how everything is when I've just started chewing my food, but others may be put off by the "lack of attentiveness". I've only had pleasant interactions with the staff! Okay, so the drinks: mostly positive, with a few acquired tastes. Think lots of citrus, greens, and bread. Even many of the specialty coffee and cocktail drinks have some form of citrus. I'm a fan of the regular coffee drinks and cocktails, but have not bought into the orange and coffee combination yet. Some of the food and pastry items do run out, and things rotate seasonally. Olive Oil Cake is ultimate comfort food. From the savory menu - things are on the pricier side. The Greens + Beans are delightful, Eggs in Purgatory is like a mini shakshuka, and salads are oh-so-fresh. There's only one single occupancy restroom, but it's conveniently located next to a small wares section where you can admire some of the most tastefully curated collection (visually at least) of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Other giftables include Patron Saint merch, greeting cards, and specialty spices and candles.

The place is amazing. The food is always exceptional and some seasonal options are always on the menu! Happy hour, wine nights, amazing service. I cannot say enough positive things. Ambiance is always pretty chill. I would definitely recommend the seasonal latte, broccoli sandwich, and carrots along with the croissant is my absolute favorite.

October 2023 -- Continental Breakfast ($12) -- focaccia, fruit, cured meat, and 8-minute soft boiled egg
    Agnes I.

You'll feel as if you have been teleported to a ITALIAN cafe when you step into this quaint cafe, close to the west side of Cleveland on the very outskirts of downtown. I visited Patron Saint Cafe in May 2023 before they opened because Harness Collective, who owns the building where Patron Saint is located, held a final fundraising event where participants could donate money and get a tour of Harness Cycle (spin studio), Soul Yoga, and Patron Saint. So, I got to see Patron Saint before the tables and chairs were put in and before it was painted. I visited again recently on a Saturday morning in October 2023 for a business meeting then again in early November in the afternoon to finish my work day there. I got to chat with the owner, Marie, when I visited alone in November and she is a joy to be around. AMBIANCE -- Inviting. I love the orange and gray ceiling colours. It's pretty noisy to work here on your laptop or even to read a book because the music is loud and was very loud when I visited around 3pm on a weekday afternoon. Nonetheless, it has a traditional cool and collected cafe vibe. FOOD -- I've tried their breakfast, a lunch item, and cake. During my business meeting in October, I ordered the Continental Breakfast ($12) -- focaccia, fruit, cured meat, and 8-minute soft boiled egg along with a cup of tea. The continental breakfast was delicious especially the focaccia bread. In early November 2023, I ordered the Roasted Squash $12 (delicata squash, lentil salad, burrata). I forgot this came with cheese which I don't really like so I removed the burrata from my plate. The lentils needed more flavour and seasoning but the squash tasted good. DRINKS -- I recommend the MOUNTAIN TEA ($5) which is a herbal tea with sage and mint and it was very refreshing. I don't drink COFFEE so I can't comment on that but they sell coffee. DESSERT -- The Olive Oil cake ($8) is OUT OF THIS WORLD good!! It's super sweet and delicious. It pairs perfectly with a hot cup of tea. It was too sweet to finish so I took about almost half back home with me. I took a photo of this cake but it did not attach directly to this review but you can still find it and view it here on Patron Saint's cafe Yelp business page. SERVICE -- Efficient and attentive. I highly recommend Patron Saint. It's a woman-owned local business that is new to town (opened in June 2023). This Italian-inspired cafe and Aperitivo Bar will definitely be the talk of the Hingetown / Ohio City neighbourhood for months to come. **** - 88/150 total reviews in 2023 - 639 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 1 December 2023

Came for dinner, but probably better during the daylight hours. This space was beautifully converted from a 'tile showroom' to this quaint Italian style restaurant/cafe. The archways and high ceilings combined with the overall design give the traditional space a modern flair. They share the space with a cycle spin class on the other side of the building and a yoga studio. upstairs. They have a restroom available. Being on a ground floor makes for easy access for baby strollers to get through. There is only street parking available. No reservations accepted. It is walk-in only. Not sure if there is wifi, but someone was working on his laptop when we arrived. A server came by to notify us to scan the bar code and place an order on the app. She mentioned an apertivo menu that has a few small plates and drink specials. You also pay for the meal & tip via app. So, there is little interaction with the server. The app may be good for efficiency on a busy night, but it can be a bit awkward not having an actual server come by to explain the menu or answer any questions throughout dinner. We got up a few times to ask questions and request extra silverware. We tried all vegetarian options for dinner - including the roasted squash (good, but the lentils were bland and needed some seasoning), broccoli melt (surprisingly good - the sauce makes the sandwich), and chickpea piadina (good; sorta like a spanakopita, but made with pita bread and could have fresh mint?). The olive oil cake is phenomenal! That is a must order! The apertivo menu only has one vegetarian option, which is black pepper chips & a basic ricotta dip. So, we opted not to get that. Overall, decent food but could use a few enhancements. Serving sizes are on the smaller side. We ordered 2 broccoli melts between three people combined with the other items for dinner. Perhaps we could have gotten one more item to walk out stuffed. I prefer paper menus and more interaction with servers. The app was a little confusing to see if our order was placed and keeping track of what we ordered. Seated on the opposite side of the bar area, we felt a bit separated from serving staff and we weren't checked on as often as we normally would at other restaurants (especially considering it was a slow evening). I'd like to come back and try this place for a more casual breakfast/lunch experience. Definitely need to come back for another slice of the olive oil cake and try one of the lattes.

My favorite place to get work done in cleveland! Relaxing ambiance with ample seating, I love coming during the day and grabbing a caffeinated drink and a bite. They have a creative coffee menu with delicious all day bites. The eggs purgatory was amazing with a cheesy crusted bread, 10/10 would recommend. The best part is you can treat yourself to a spritz after finishing your work! They have contactless ordering system and the staff are super efficient and attentive, clearing away dishes shortly after they are done. Love the vibes

This is such a cute European cafe/bar plopped in the middle of Cleveland! I loved the blended concept, where people could have coffee and get work done or hang out over drinks and small plates. I went for dinner & drinks one weekday evening and had a lovely time. You can order and start/pay your tab on your phone using the QR code at the table - very convenient. We had a couple aperitifs and shared a bunch of their dishes, including the fried oysters with cucumber, roasted carrots, ricotta cheese dip, green beans with tomatoes, and of course a generous slice of olive oil cake. Everything was delicious! Overall, the cafe had a bright and inviting energy. The wall of floor-to-ceiling windows brought so much light into the space too, which made it seem even bigger. The staff members were also all super friendly and personable. Street Parking is plentiful on Detroit (usually). Definitely recommend visiting Patron Saint for a quick work session (as long as you don't mind the noise and overhead music), coffee break, date night, or meeting up with a friend or two!

This place was so good that I decided to bring a friend soon after my first visit here, not even a full week apart, I ordered the same thing but perhaps the temperature made all the difference. The sauce was piping hot the first time and tasted so good. This time it was served closer to lukewarm and essentially like any old pizza sauce out of a jar. Might as well have had a jammy egg in a jar of ragu. Sad to say my experience wasn't consistent. Both times I came here were not that busy either. Parking was fairly easy to find and the latte was still excellent.

But yesterday my wife and I decided to get involved with the festivities in Gorden Square/Battery Park. So on a brisk but sunny day we drove down to Battery Park in Cleveland and visited "All Saints Public House" for a tall glass of Guinness and a dish of Cabbage and Noodles topped with a Bratwurst. The Battery Park area is a wonderful part of town and a fun place to visit. "All Saints" is a great ethnic bar/restaurant. We sat and talked and watched "Gone with the Wind", drank a wonderfully satisfying Guinness (on tap), and ate some of the best Cabbage and Noodles I've ever had, with an excellent Bratwurst on top. Turns out, Dyngus Day is a load of fun... and I'm still not sure what it is?

In terms of available sauces, the Kansas City sauce was thick and tangy, but the Proof sauce was not good at all...I just could not put my finger on what about it I didn't like n its flavor profile. There's a single unisex bathroom within steps of the bar, and the regular hotel lobby bathrooms are down a floor. As conference rooms are nearby this bar, I'd also probably guess there's a large conference room bathroom block too, but I didn't find that one. The rest of the bars and restaurants in the Metropolitan tend to take most of the attention here, and the Ledger has a much more laid-back, chill vibe. A lot of people were watching a sports game (baseball, I think?) on the TV behind me. With the smaller space and wide "open" area of the full lobby, the Ledger feels like your calmest, quietest bar option out of the available places at the Metropolitan.

WOW seriously lived up to my expectations and exceeded them!!…read more AMAZING fall off the bone tender wings with some great sauce, I had the dad's buffalo sauce and my boyfriend got the pecorino garlic. I preferred the buffalo, the ranch and blue cheese are both great We also ordered the pretzel and the fries which were both insanely insanely amazing. The pretzel came with a white cheese sauce and a sweet butter of some sort that was really delicious Fun vibes inside although it's a small spot, very casual. Service was attentive and great!

This was my first time at the Cleveland location and the food was equally excellent. The wings…read morereally are the best in the area - the meat is super tender, a confit really, and it drops off the bone. Sauces are fantastic. I also had a garden salad that was super refreshing while my friends had a milkshake (yum!) and split the melt and grilled cheese sandwiches. Our server was delightful - you could tell she really cared about our experience. You can provide good service but for her she took real pride in it and really cared about making sure our meal was good. We really appreciated that. Space is pleasant in Battery Park - I think I like the Akron location a touch better, warmer, less industrial feeling but it's not bad just personal preference. Note: be careful on parking they have a few spaces in the narrow street immediately in front of the restaurant but the parking lot around the corner adjacent to battery park is permit only (and you'll be towed!). If the ones immediately in front of the venue are take you need to park further down (west) on 76th.
