One of my regular go-to spots when I need to plug in and get things done. The staff is always pleasant and consistent, which keeps me coming back. I'm a fan of their refreshers--today I tried the Dragonfruit Elderberry refresher along with an all-beef hotdog and mini donuts. Everything was made fresh and absolutely hit the spot. The interior has a cozy, contemporary feel with inspirational quotes on the walls, but today I opted to sit outside and catch up with a friend. Between the WiFi and the wine tasting machines, it's the perfect mix of productivity and relaxation--my kind of atmosphere to either work or escape the everyday grind.

Wine is wonderful, get a wine card and sample 2oz pours starting at $2.25.

One of my favorite go to spots, it's my Cheers in the CLE. I love the vibe, the people, the drinks, wine but my fav is that they serve a vegan polish boy (I get mine without the bun). Go when you have time to relax & Unwine.

Cute spot with really good coffee and tasty desserts. The team there was so friendly. The sitting area is nice and cozy. They even sell beautiful plants. I'll be back soon!

I stopped by for a meeting with a colleague, during this visit I enjoyed my iced mocha outside to make the most of the great weather. Inside, there is no shortage of options and the employees were kind and efficient.

I love Unbar Cafe! I really respect that one of their values is to encourage social situations without alcohol. They routinely host social events to encourage community, bring people together, and offer a gathering space. The inside has a very welcoming and homey vibe and I didn't order any food, but they seem to have a great selection of vegetarian and vegan items. I met a friend at the nearby Lotus Candles and we came here for smoothies afterwards. I added matcha and was pretty pleasantly surprised! A sign of a good coffee shop is when you see people planted and staying a while working. The staff was super helpful and I was thrilled to see a big coffee and tea menu. This is a great addition on Larchmere and I hope to come back soon!

Nice place! There a bunch of high and low tables near the front and a comfortable seating area in the back with couches and chairs. The place was very busy when I went in but service was good. I tried some coffee and a sandwich and both were good. Nice place to sit for a while and do some work or to catch up with friends. Great community space!

Hanging out in Cleveland, I took a chance on UnBar while in the Shaker Heights neighborhood. I noticed the welcoming atmosphere that seemed to be commonplace in all of the establishments I went to while visiting Cleveland. The Ethiopian coffee was great. I hadn't realized that I had not added any sugar until I was all done drinking it. That's the mark of good coffee. I ordered a slice of sweet potato pie to go with it. Definitely was worth the purchase and I'm a sweet potato snob, having grown up Down South where sweet potato pies reign supreme. UnBar is a very nice space for relaxing or meeting with a few friends. Good coffee and even better service make for a winner. They are on my list for whenever I return to Cleveland for a visit.

Great local cafe in Larchmere! My group tried various coffees and juices. The iced vanilla latte was great. Very welcoming environment that brings the community together. We enjoyed reading some new books. We will be back!

God, this place rocks! The staff was the nicest, and the atmosphere was just pure good vibes. They have all sorts of in house food options, drink options, and many great grab and go options...plus it's a vegan/vegetarian dream land! I got a mocha with coconut\almond milk, and an avocado veggie sandwich. They have quite literally every milk option ever which always makes me happy. Dine in was available during covid times and I'm sure this would be a wonderful place to get some serious work done. You can tell the Cle heights/ shaker community and pride is strong in here, which is always a great feeling. All in all, unbar is a happy, happy place and I want to go back now!

No, it's not a misnomer - this aptly named locally owned coffee shop sets a high standard for quality that is quite evident from the first sip. The menu has a range of espresso drinks and coffee of various origins (e.g., Guatemala, Ethiopia) that excite the palate and invigorate your senses. The baristas behind the counter greet you with a smile and concoct some excellent drinks. I ordered a mocha with almond milk... it was balanced in taste and was as smooth as silk! The dedication to excellence is on full display as Unbar uses Monin syrups, which are made with natural ingredients and are preservative free! If you wish to relax and enjoy your hand crafted drink inside, there are tables in the rear, but if you prefer to sit outside there is seating as well. Stop in and UNwind, or wind up with a dose of caffeine! Either way you'll leave happy.

Tucked in Coventry neighborhood, there's Phoenix Coffee. The first thing you notice walking in is the vibe -- warm exposed brick walls, quirky and ever-changing local art (currently fairytale motif), and the smell of seriously strong, seriously good coffee. The Siren Eclipse art on the wall is alone worth the visit. And the scones? Unreal. Flaky, buttery, and somehow always fresh out of the oven. Really probably the best around. There's also other breakfast snacks like muffins and such. Very limited options but very tasty. Bonus points for the greenery -- the place doubles as a mini plant shop. There's a few leafy ones you can pick up. I got large drip coffee while I was there and it perfectly strong. There's two size options, light or dark roast. The menu also features some seasonal favorites. I had recently spring matcha there that was so vibrantly green. There's also a pretty extensive tea assortment. For warmer months, consider seating outside. They have very fun and aesthetically pleasing wooden benches. Street parking is available in the area but it gets busy. Try parking garage on the street to park. It's free to use.

I ordered the bandit (latte with lapsang syrup) and a mango/guava muffin--the muffin was good, but although made well, I really didn't enjoy the bandit (the lapsang syrup was a lot smokier than I anticipated). Although I'd order something different next time, I'll happily return!

Favorites include their savory baked goods and cookies When it comes to lattes, so far I've liked their cinnamon brown sugar, and seasonal matchas (the coconut matcha a couple months back was good). It's good as dine-in (plenty of seating inside and outside, though still quite full on the weekends) and as take-out. Plenty of free parking available in a lot. Staff are friendly. Also last month I tried their restaurant week special (includes latte, panini, and choice of cookie or macaron). Ended up choosing the brown sugar latte (opted for oat milk), corned beef panini and gingerbread molasses cookie. All were good, the favorite and definitely would get again would be the latte. Also if you use the too good to go app, I love their bags (such a good variety with amazing value) which sell out in minutes. Definitely in my list of regular places to stop by.

I had never had Yemeni coffee before so I asked the barista for suggestions. Based on the fact that I wanted to also try one of their beautiful milk cakes (like a tres leches), I opted for the Mufawar coffee since he said it was less sweet and a bestseller. It was served on an adorable bamboo tray, piping hot and very strong! It had a unique flavor and paired well with my saffron milk cake. Yes...I said saffron. I was very hesitant to try this after he described saffron to me, so I actually got both saffron and biscoff milk cakes. Wow, this man knew his stuff! The saffron milk cake was absolutely scrumptious!!! And who doesn't love a biscoff cookie?! I had to take that one to go. I hope to return to Cleveland soon so I can try the pistachio latte (a sweeter coffee) and possibly a different flavor of milk cake. The coffee shop was quite large, bright, and tastefully decorated with lots of gold accents. I loved my experience there!

Love coming here! Used to visit before they moved locations and although their menu options have…read morechanged (sadly no more savory crepes), they still have some favorites. All-time favorites for me will remain the waffle (any option with the cookie butter, like the paradise or Brasilliene), and the Karak chai. Their Belgian are always freshly made and perfect for those who love slightly denser doughy waffles. Their karak chai is always piping hot (definitely at risk of burning your tongue if you drink it too fast ). They're in a bigger location now where there's a lot more seating--I've come and did work with the WiFi with no issues. Parking available as free street parking. The owner is always friendly and recognizes his regulars. Great place whether you want waffles/crepes to-go or if you just want to stay and socialize or do work.

The cafe is located in the old BD's Mongolian Grill's space (no permanent signage just yet), prior to that it was Arabica. Euro Wafel has been around for a while in Cleveland at various markets and at the University Circle before arriving to the Heights. Euro Wafel creates a safe, late-night, alcohol-free experience. It's an interesting fusion of Belgian Liege waffles, French crepes, and Middle Eastern (Emirati) beverages. The cafe seems to be a work in progress. It's very casual, has pleasant light blue hues (furniture), couch, innovative lightings plenty of space for solo or group visits. The fireplace in the middle is kind of awkward but perhaps it will be used during colder seasons. Quiet music (French and Arabic) fills the space. There are big windows that make watching the rain outside very relaxing. During my visit most guests were younger crowd, all seemed to be regulars. It was steady customer flow considering it was after 9 PM on a weekday. Street parking is available in the area. Your most convenient option is to park in the Coventry parking lot across the street (free). Service was very attentive, the owner friendly and providing personalized attention to all customers. Your experience starts once you scan QR code with the menu, then you pay, pick a table, and wait for your order. The orders are up pretty quickly. Most guests chose to dine in tonight. So did I. Karak Chai: I love to sip different ethnic teas and coffees. And so, Karak chai (pronounced kah-rak with the emphasis on "rak") was an immediate "yasss!" The owner said that the recipe is his mother's. It's a traditional Emirati dessert chai. He said that the spices are a secret, but I picked up on cardamom and condensed milk. Traditionally, I read that saffron is also added. The tea was on the sweeter side, very tasty. It was lukewarm when I ordered it. Since I drink scorching hot beverages, I would have loved to try a hot version. I'll ask for it next time. The chai is pretty popular, many guests ordered it. Their website states that guests can also ask for a free sample/sip. Other options include refreshers, lattes, and matcha. Waffle: Waffle choices all looked good both by description and when they were presented to customers. I sat close to the counter and watched them all be handed to customers. By the way, each choice on the menu can be served as a waffle or as a crepe. I ordered The Celine with berry compote, vanilla butter cream, and vanilla ice cream. The waffle was very good, considerably better than any other similar waffle destination in the city. Compote was so flavorful, contained huge berries, and really tasted homemade. I was a huge fan of this compote and bet it would even be better on a crepe. The waffle was overwhelmingly sweet. Mixing waffle with Karak was definitely not the best choice, it was too sugary. Next time I'll order the two separately. I spent $19 something on the entire order. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. It was low key, welcoming, and flavorful. I would have loved to see definitive hours when this place is open. Various websites list different times, they seem to change (check before you venture out). I also would have loved to see some savory menu options like perhaps crepes with cheese and meats, fish, or other creations. I feel like I'd visit more often given some variety and savory options.
