This is a great little place that I walk by several times a week. It's easy to miss because of the building it's in but it's a very credible little coffee shop. I typically get either a cappuccino or a regular coffee. They do both very well. It's simple and unpretentious. But that said, very few can make a REAL cappuccino that you would typically get for less than a Euro in Roma. They do it right. It's exactly as it's supposed to be, 1/3 espresso, 1/3 steamed milk, 1/3 foam. Most US places don't have a freaking clue. They do. Phoenix also has a nice little selection of excellent pastries. Their chcolate chip cookies are amazing. And while I always love a chocolate chip cookies, their blueberry muffins are amazing! Nice crunchy top, loaded with blueberries, and moist, but not too moist as to lose the flavor of the blueberries. My only criticism...for fuck sake, why does everyone feel the need to refrigerate butter???????? It's impossible to spread on a muffin. read more

This was a super cute place to come and get some work done and read!! They also have the cutest aesthetic and murals outside of their door!! I didn't get the chance to sit and eat outside, but it looked beautiful out there - it was just a cold day when I went so I stayed inside. I got a lavender latte, very delicious and could taste the perfect amount of lavender. To snack on I got a salted bagel with chorizo cream cheese. Both delicious, I wanted an everything bagel but they were out and I was a little scared to try this bagel - but it turned out super delicious!! What a perfect find for some incredibly quality coffee and a carby treat! Though the entrance can be a little hard to find (enter & park on Bridge Ave), Phoenix Coffee Bar is a delightful little spot to get your caffeine on and maybe do some work, too. Came here after walking the dog and got a regular latte and a strawberry lemonade scone. Shortly before 8 am, it wasn't crowded at all (but had a slow, steady stream of regulars grabbing coffee to go and chitchatting with the baristas.) I sat with my pup on their beautiful outdoor patio to enjoy my treats and work a bit. I loved that they offered my dog a treat & a water bowl immediately - such a dog friendly place with a chill, easy-going vibe great for meeting with a friend or getting some work done! The espresso comes in two different varieties and my latte was smooth, well balanced, and honestly the thing of my coffee snob dreams. I hadn't know CLE had coffee this good. The strawberry lemonade scone - despite the name - wasn't too sweet (which I LOVED) and was served WARM with a perfectly soft, fluffy inside and slight crunch to the outer layer as only truly perfect English-style scones should be. I did not partake - but there is a HUGE selection of bagels & schmears from Cleveland Bagel Company here if you are in the mood for something more substantial food-wise. Friendly staff. I had a iced chai latte with oat milk and it was very nicely balanced in flavors with neither ingredient over powering the other. The cup was filled with more ice than I would have preferred though. I also had a scone, and throughly enjoyed it. It was flavorful and will probably try another one the next time I visit. I was really impressed when the girl who took my order suggested something I might like that was not on the menu-a london fog latte, and it turned out really good! Came here on a Sunday morning and it was decently crowded, but still a short wait to get my coffee. It was a little warm out so I opted for a Large Iced Coffee and just added cream and half a splenda myself. The coffee was very good, you can tell they take making coffee very seriously and that it is almost an art to watch them make it! We sat outside and enjoyed out coffee on the little patio outside the entrance, the mural there is beautiful and all the trees make the area super relaxing. Though there was no indoor seating at the time, you can tell they have the makings of a perfectly cozy coffee shop. This place is so cute! I went here randomly the other day because I had searched "cute, cozy coffee shops" in yelp haha. There was a long list but this one was close but also one I hadn't heard of yet. When you get up to the building, they have some pretty cool artwork painted on the side. The inside reminds me of a quaint bookstore that also sells coffee and has a deck. My friend and I sat outside on the little deck because it was so nice out. It's smallish but perfect for that space. It had about 3 or 4 cushioned chairs (which we were sitting on), a table in the middle and then sort of like bar seating around the other two sides. Now as far as the coffee: my friend got a black cold brew and said it was great. I got a coconut water cold brew latte. Sounds weird, kind of is weird, but it was good! Affordable, friendly staff, and great drinks! I tried the iced chai latte and it was delish! The chai flavor had good spice too it and wasn't over sweetened like a lot of iced chais I have had (like the chai you get at Starbucks). Also, the drink came out to $3.50 which is wayyy cheaper than most coffee places, which are usually a $1 more. Plus, they do milk substitutes for free and don't charge extra! So nice. In terms of COVID-19 safety and staff, A+ for both. The staff provided wax paper so you don't have to actually touch the screen to tip and sign with your fingers. Stopped by for a quick espresso and an hour-long study session. (Also, my flight back to SF wasn't until 7 in the evening, so I needed someplace to cop out.) I love that they have outside patio seating, although since it was GORGEOUS weather when I came, all the seats were taken. Nevertheless, I ordered a decaf espresso. $2 for a double shot, imo, isn't bad at all! This, of course, in comparison to the damn $4 solo shots I normally find around San Francisco. Admittedly, the espresso was pretty acidic, but the texture was so smooth and creamy, that it was actually pretty pleasurable to drink. Overall, a pretty cool cafe to visit! read more

Atmosphere: I hate that I am saying this, but this is the "hipster coffee" shop that you want to go to, but aren't cool enough for (because they are really cool). We will wear it not problem at all but the way it was said to us was so condescending that set horrible tone for the rest of the visit. So we put our masks and proceeded to order. One girl explained rules of the shop which was ok until we set down and the other one legit came to explain rules again. We are not stupid you saw your coworker explaining your rules which we followed so why being so "im better that you". I would never recommend this place. We were the only people there at the time and I was in the mood for something a little different as far as coffee drinks go, and the woman at the counter was not very helpful so I resorted to their featured drinks, which I had already tried. The cutest cafe I've stumbled upon since moving here from Seattle! The atmosphere is calming and the perfect place to study, not to mention the adorable mural right outside the door. It reminds me of one of those "hipster" places with their string lights on the outside balcony & record player inside. The baristas are nice & attentive, and I got my nitro toddy in seconds. This place is absolutely incredible. I was visiting Cleveland for a grad school interview and was only staying in town for a day but I really wish I lived here because I'd be at Phoenix all the time. The coffee is absolutely delightful. I ordered an iced americano ($2....am I hallucinating or is this real life??? coming from the land of $4 americanos in nyc). I actually walked back an hour later to grab a dirty chai before my interview.. perfectly flavored and not sweetened at all. The space is adorable and cozy with tons of seating options AND a patio for when it's nice out!!!! OH and they have paper straws.
