Pretty nice space! There's a lot of street parking which is free sometimes but usually paid. It's right next to westside market which has a certain period of free parking as well. There are a lot of tables and a good amount of outlets as well. The staff was nice and the matcha latte was not bad, but comes unsweetened so you need to add a syrup for an extra $1 to sweeten. Overall a nice space for meeting with friends or working!
Stopped in here right after a recovery session. Got my usual espresso and cup of . Espresso was mild and had a nice earthy taste to it. Coffee was very good. First time here. This is a place to come back to and try more of their food as they have a variety of things to choose from. Service was fine. And it has a nice modern vibe.
Don't miss Edda After Dark Events! Edda is an all-day coffee shop with a metropolitan feel. You can find it across the street from the West Side. It's inside a mirrored building (Intro Luxury Apartment Complex) that stands out in the skyline of historical buildings in Ohio City. I visited Edda numerous times over the years. My latest order: - Cold Brew (16 oz) - An okay cup of coffee but felt too diluted. - Savory muffin - Muffin perfection! It's like an elevated version of Red Lobster biscuit but much better. They can also warm it up! It was cheesy and delicious. - Rose Petal Matcha Latte - I was charged for a seasonal drink Rose Petal Matcha Latte ($6.50 + $0.20 for ice + $1 for rose petals). I couldn't wait to see it! My order was just regular matcha. It wasn't the best I've had in the city. It wasn't too concentrated, was a little bland. When I asked about it being rose, I was told that this drink special doesn't exist anymore (despite it being displayed on all monitors in the cafe). In other words, I paid $1 for roses that weren't even available at the cafe. Seating/Design: The interior is a modern, industrial, and minimalist style that most certainly must have been dreamed up by a designer. There are accents of concrete, light wood, muted colors, luxe lighting fixtures, and soft back lights. This coffee shop offers something for every daily vibe - solo, socialization, or to go. If you're flying solo, sit by the windows to get unmatched views of the market and West 25th. If you're in a social mood, bring your friends to lounge on comfy couches. It's also a great place to work "from home," a lot of my friends do. Seating is available at tables, on couches, and small coffee bar. Wherever you sit, mostly you have ample room to have your own space and privacy despite the coffee shop being usually busy. Coffee/Food: Edda sources coffee beans globally and roasts them locally. They specialize in bright and light-roasted coffees. The coffee won't be your most memorable cup of coffee but pretty good. They also sell plenty of coffee beans. They even have Intro Coffee Beans! They have basic coffee (like pour over), fancy lattes and seasonal drinks. There is a pretty extensive food menu available considering it's a coffee shop. Menu items include breakfast, salads, and handhelds (menu photos attached to this review). Pricing: Pricing is average but they will charge your extra charges for seasonal drinks or iced beverages (like $.20 extra for ice). Ways to save include their coffee program (flyer attached) or coffee rewards (tracked through Toast). Service: Checkout moves fast even when there is a line. Service is pleasant but transactional. It's hard to ask any follow-up questions from baristas or checkout staff. Events: Edda recently started hosting events like after hours socials, speed dating, and others. Watch their social media for announcements. Tickets are usually available via Eventbrite. I'll come back when I'm in Ohio City shopping at the West Side Market. But at least for me this is not a destination I'd specifically drive to. Nonetheless, if you want a trendy experience in Ohio City, grab some coffee here!
Edda is a trendy and very busy coffee/bar on W 25th Street. It is conveniently located across from the Westside Market and is an enticing place to stop for coffee or brunch. I ordered an Oatmilk latte and it was well made and came out quickly. Drinks are picked up at the counter when your name is called. Food is delivered to your table when it is ready. There was a steady stream of people ordering to go and staying in. Fortunately there is plenty of comfortable seating. Edda staff are friendly and helpful. It is a great spot to stop on a relaxing Sunday morning.
Stopped in for a quick coffee after a stroll through West Side Market. It is huge inside and so bright with the windows...definitely looks like a nice place to hang out! I took my coffee (and one for my husband) to go today, but would definitely go back and stay longer. The barista was friendly and explained the seasonal specials to me when I asked. I ended up going with the banana coconut cold brew (half sweet) for me and an iced mocha. The banana flavor was good and not too overpowering, and the coconut cream and toasted coconut flakes on top were great! The iced mocha was good as well, and not overly sweet. A little pricey for how small the drinks were, but no real complaints. Thank you for the afternoon pick me up, Edda Coffee Roasters!
Edda Coffee Roasters has such a beautiful and modern vibe -- one of the best coffee shop atmospheres in the city. The space is filled with natural light, plants, and warm wooden decor. Music was on point, and the whole place just feels good to be in. There's plenty of seating -- from booths and couches to bar-style seating and tables by the windows with great city views. It's a popular spot, especially with nearby college students, so it can get busy, but it's spacious enough to still find a seat most of the time. Bonus points for lots of outlets and built-in chargers. The drinks are solid overall -- the coffee and artisanal beverages were great, but I wouldn't recommend the matcha. Still, for the ambiance alone, it's worth a visit -- a perfect place to study, catch up with friends, or just enjoy a well-crafted drink in a beautiful setting.
This is a charming downtown coffee café that immediately caught my eye with its inviting decor. I'm a sucker for live plants paired with industrial vibes, and this place nailed it! While the furniture could use a bit of a cleaning, overall, it's a lovely spot, perfect for remote work. They offer cozy little cubbies along the side for a more secluded workspace, and there are plenty of outlets scattered throughout. The tall windows let in loads of natural light, creating a bright and cheerful atmosphere. I ordered the chai tea with oat milk and the avocado toast with egg (the egg was an extra cost, but totally worth it!). The food was delicious and beautifully plated, making for a delightful brunch experience. Service was prompt and I asked for a side of bacon which isn't on the menu however the cashier worked something out for me and I was able to add a side. If you're looking for a nice place to relax or get some work done, I definitely recommend checking this café out!
Edda's bourbon pumpkin spice shot caught my eye so I definitely had to get it. It was perfect in my latte since it was slightly sweet with a slight pumpkiny flavor. I definitely think it would be great for hot drinks! If you're looking for something more refreshing, their raspberry sage shot was amazing as a tart, fruity accent to the iced coffee. Edda was located right across from West Side Market, so you could do some local produce shopping while you're there! Parking can be a bit tricky since it's street parking only and spot are limited. The ambiance was peaceful, with lots of indoor seating and tables, although the tables were all pretty full. It would be a good study spot on a weekday or hangout spot for the weekend! I also appreciated how they have regular water and sparkling water available to anyone, although their sparkling water machine wasn't working at the time.
Went to this cafe to study for a bit! We ordered an iced matcha latte and got their coconut cookie. The iced matcha was a bit sad... the flavor was not there and it tasted more like vanilla milk? There was no moment where I could taste the matcha. We ended up getting it another time as well, and the result was the same. You can see from the picture that the matcha powder was not blended the best, and that it is a very light color. The cookie was great though! It looks like fried chicken in the photo, but the taste/texture was wonderful!! I'd probably only get the cookie next time I go. I will not be getting matcha here again. Service was fine, and the cafe sitting area overall was great. There were great options to choose from and great desk space. The place was bright, and I enjoyed the music that they played.
PHOTOS ATTACHED BELOW!! If you like natural light and high ceilings then you'll love Edda Coffee shop. I first visited in early April 2023 and then again in May 2023 and I've been back many other times again. I love coming here because of all the natural light that steeps through the windows. FOOD/DRINKS -- Since I don't like or drink coffee, I ordered a cold (iced) matcha drink when I first visited in April 2023. It was just right but it needed a little more sweetener which I may not have asked for. I definitely prefer a sweeter matcha such as a strawberry matcha. I can't remember if the matcha was made with Oat milk or Almond milk but my point is that if you don't like dairy milk then you will have other non-dairy options to choose from. As for food, when I visited in November 2023, I ordered their turkey sandwich for lunch and I got it without cheese and onions plus I added the garlic aioli spread on the side. The turkey sandwich was under $9 and it came with a small side of greens (I think Arugula and spinach mix). NOISE/TEMPERATURE -- If you want to get serious work done here then Edda Coffee may not be a great choice unless you come early or sit in one of the booths with noise canceling headphones on. It tends to get very noisy here during peak morning, afternoon, and evening hours. I suggest arriving either between 7am to 8:30am, 2:30pm to 4pm, or after 6pm but I believe they close at 6pm or 7pm everyday. It also gets cold inside because anytime I've come, the air conditioner is always on so bring a sweater or jacket with you. Edda Coffee is a VERY popular spot and although it's quite big inside, you may not find a spot to sit so I suggest arriving as early as you can. For example, if you arrive at noon or 1pm on a weekend, you may not find a chair to sit on but again, it all depends so you should still come. I can't wait to come here again soon. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 22/150 total reviews in 2024 - 672 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 20 April 2024
I was driving near the wharf and asked a friendly pedestrian where's the best coffee shop nearby. They pointed me to Edda. Very cool place. Cafe in the morning and bar in the evening. Very modern design and everyone in the place looked like they fell out of a J.Crew catalog. Most people were working on laptops. The baristas were very friendly.
My friend and I stopped in here for brunch on a recent Sunday morning during a one-night visit to Cleveland. We had stayed up late after a comedy show the night before and were seeking some much-needed sustenance before our drive back to Michigan. I hate to do it, but had to take a star away for lack of available seating, even though the food and service were on point. There were about 8 different 4-top tables that were taken up by one single person on their laptop (and you could tell these people were clearly staying for a few hours)... All those tables could have seated 24 more customers! That was a turn-off and I thought we'd have to stand somewhere to eat our sandwiches. Luckily, I noticed one of the laptoppers getting ready to leave, so I snagged her table. Our meals were great, the woman who took our orders was super friendly, and we didn't have to wait long for our food to be ready. I got the Ham & Brie Sandwich, which was simple, but perfectly balanced with the combination of savory ham, creamy brie, and sweet fig jam. My friend ordered the Edda Breakfast Sandwich and she cleared her plate, declaring it was delightful! All in all, I'd definitely come here again, just maybe not on a weekend as to ensure I had a place to sit and enjoy my food. The design of the cafe is very clean, modern, and comfortable. Restrooms and tables were spotless, and the location was right where you want to be if you're planning a visit to West Side Market (which you should!)
Heard about this place from a hardcore coffee conniseour. Stepping in felt like a trendy NYC coffee bar, super clean, minimalist decor and buzzing with business. Pretty cool to have a choice of either coffee or booze to imbibe, making this place a great meet up spot with seats at the bar, tables or on a comfy couch. I'm a huge fan of Duck Rabbit coffee, so was excited to see how the drip coffee would fare against it, unfortunately this round goes to Duck Rabbit although it is a close second. I thought the brew was smooth but had a slight bitter taste. I also got a matcha latte, asked for soy (didn't have) so I got oat milk. Not sweet at all and definitely a good amount of Matcha. We also got a ham and Brie sandwich for research purposes and this was an excellent find! I was surprised by the fig jam spread on the underside of one piece of bread which added some Va Va Va boom to the flavor profile. A side of arugula accompanied the plate but we found it very bitter (sandwich does very well on its own) Street parking just fyi

Yum! Lemon ginger scone was absolutely delicious, not too sweet, very flavorful. Not exactly crumbly, but the taste was so good, and I had completely abused it, it sat in the car, it sat out for 24 hours, it got nuked, it was frozen- you name it! And the taste stood up! I tried a Thai Iced Tea...latte? Not 100% certain- but the syrup they used was made in house and great. Not to mention that the place is gorgeous. read more
I walked to the West side market to find that I was a tad bit early. To pass time I walked over to Edda's for coffee and a bite to eat. The cafe is very spacious with plenty of space to sit. It was early so service was pretty quick. If you order food to eat inside, you take a number and they bring it to you. This was my first time in so I decided to try a regular coffee and the breakfast sandwich. I found the coffee to be tasty, taking a cup to go. The highlight is my visit was the breakfast sandwich. Served on a perfectly toasted buttery bread and the eggs were perfectly scrambled. This sandwich left me wishing it was bigger. If I'm in the area I'll definitely be going again. read more

Bright and spacious coffee shop in a corner space in Ohio City. The other few times I've been in to grab a coffee it's been packed, and it makes sense why. Lots of sturdy, good size tables plus bar and lounge seating with abundant outlets. If you can get a spot, it's a great place to camp out and work for an hour. At 8:30 on a cold Wednesday in January it was the quietest I've ever seen it, with just a few people sitting and others dropping in to pick up to go orders. My husband and I ordered a black coffee, a cortado and a breakfast burrito to split. Points for serving the drinks in real cups for dine-in orders. The burrito is pricey - $16 - but is made to be split between two people. We tried to imagine finishing the whole thing on our own and couldn't, even as the ambitious eaters we are. It comes with a choice of chorizo, bacon or mushrooms and two side sauces, an aioli and a salsa verde. It was greasy and one of the messier things I've eaten in the morning but delicious. I will return to try the breakfast sandwich and the lox panini. I appreciate that they also have a limited bar - love a place you can transition from work day to working happy hour on a Friday afternoon. Another experience worth mentioning: I came in here solo on a busy afternoon once and ordered an iced chai. As I sat down, the woman who made it came out and said "I didn't make the chai concentrate (or whatever it's called) today and it does not look good to me. If you don't like that, I'll make you something else - let me know." Reader, it was not good and she made me something else. Respect the candor and proactivity. read more

This is a stylish, light-drenched, plant-filled cafe across from West Side Market. It's open early (a plus) since there aren't a lot of cafes open early from what we've found. Seating is at a premium, there's an alcove that has 3 booths which is in high demand, then small tables along the perimeter and a few comfy couch and chair setups. My drip coffee was fine, served in a glass retro cup. The breakfast scramble, with bacon, and a cold dab of avocado puree, was ok. It was hot, served relatively quickly even with the growing line of waiting customers, but it was average. We split a blueberry muffin, bursting with berries and a little dry. Food ok, drinks pretty good, ambience is cool, but seating is limited. read more

The ambiance is great! It's very open and has a ton of natural light. A lot of people had a hard time finding a spot to sit down, as it seems to be a very popular coffee spot. Even though it was busy and noisy, I was able to find a seat and had very nice study session. I ordered a matcha latte and a blueberry muffin. To be completely honest, the matcha wasn't fantastic and I regret not getting coffee. Overall, I really enjoyed my time there. read more
I love the ambience of this coffee shop! It's light and bright and surrounded by windows. It seems like a great spot to get some work done outside of the house given their free Wi-Fi, variety of seating options (bar, table, patio), and of course a full drink and food menu (so you can fuel your energy and brain of course). I came here on a Friday afternoon and it was bustling with people, but not in a loud distracting way. Many of the patrons seemed to be studying, co-working, or having small conversation. As this is my first visit, I've only had the opportunity to try the Iced Maple Vanilla Latte w/ Oat Milk, but I really enjoyed it! I love a latte where you can distinctly taste the espresso, and you could definitely in this drink. The maple syrup was also pronounced, but not too overpowering or sweet. It was a perfect balance, and just the energy booster I needed. Prices were also very reasonable, which is always a plus. read more
Know before u go... 1) they don't have regular coffee creamer (half and half). They have milk, skim milk, oat milk and other substitutions but no regular creamer. That really pi$$e$ me off. 2) there aren't any servers or waitstaff so first get ur seat/claim ur spot and then go up to the counter. This place is huge with tons of seating and it is very busy. We went on a Sunday and had to wait a long time to get a seat. Great place to work, study, hang out. Lots of in and out traffic. read more

Ambiance was great! Love the big windows with plants and multiple seating options. Great people watching on the streets of Cleveland with the big windows. Coffee was hot and delicious, especially loved the unique serving pieces. However, on the food end, Edda is lacking on service. Two breakfast items on a not very busy morning at 10am took over 15 minutes. Breakfast burrito was tasty and hot. Ham and Brie sandwich came out cold with a hunk of brie in the middle of the sandwich. I assumed it would be warm because who doesn't love warm ouzy Brie? Even cold the sandwich was lacking... for a 15 minute wait? read more

Love coming to EDDA to work! Always a good vibe to get work done and have a little beverage. The employees are always super kind and cool, some even offering suggestions for your drinks. Have had breakfast a few times, limited choices but typically yummy. Only con is that the tables fill up quickly on work days. read more
Edda was a lovely coffee shop with vast seating including lots of tables, couches, and bar seating! A great place to work on your computer, read a book, or enjoy the ambience. Parking was paid but still affordable. The breakfast burrito with sausage was so delicious would highly recommend. The baristas were all very kind and friendly to chat with as we waited for our order! read more

Thanks for stopping in, Sarah! We hope to see you again soon!
Super cool bright coffee shop that also serves food and alcohol! Even though this place is very spacious it was packed and hard to find seating... that's how you know a place is really good! The modern and clean layout makes this space an inspiring place to work or a place to relax. The staff is helpful with questions and the speed of service might vary depending how busy they are. Parking is a bit of a challenge since it's downtown and there are few spaces outside along the street. The lattes we ordered were made well and my wife's latter needed a stir because the syrup was at the bottom. Edda is now one of our top coffee shops in Cleveland. Highly recommend checking them out if you love fancy coffee and environments! read more
Edda is a beautiful spot. Great ambiance, stylist interior and very friendly staff. If you're in a hurry, this is NOT the place for you. After ordering at the counter, we waited over 25 minutes for our food to arrive. A lengthy wait was definitely not anticipated at a coffee shop. Overall, the food and beverage offerings missed the mark for us. Drinks; matcha latte- respectfully one of the most beverages I've consumed and I am a huge fan of matcha. I tossed it after two sips. Tasted like matcha and water.. lukewarm, gritty, and just bad. Drip coffee got the thumbs up from my husband. Food; Venice toast- just ok. The "toast" was a thick slice of cold sourdough. Breakfast sandwich was good We struggled to find some thing appropriate for our toddler to eat, and she gave the beignets a thumbs up. I'd give them another shot for a latte to go, but would visit another nearby location for brunch. read more

What I ordered: a 16 oz iced matcha with vanilla flavor. The matcha is not sweet by itself. I didn't love that vanilla flavoring was an additional $1. Know that if you want simple syrup added, you'll be paying $1 for that. I've not seen a coffee shop charge $1 for any sort of flavor, and definitely not for simple syrup. Those of us who are living our best sweet lives will have to pay extra. Ultimately, the matcha was okay. Not the worst. Not the best. Would I order it again at Edda? Nope. 6/10. I absolutely love a spacious, brightly lit, coffee shop with lush green plants, plenty of tables, and electrical outlets. Edda has numerous setups. Want a sofa? Check. Want a cubby hole where people can't see you? You got it. Want a table where you can sit with a 2-3 folks? Lots and lots. If you're not bothered by people walking behind you, there are lots of stools where folks can work at the bar or at side tables. 10/10. I also love that they stay open until 6 pm. As someone who tends to do my coffee shop activities in the afternoons, it's nice to know that I can get a good chunk of time. Background music is all right - an interesting mix of soulful, light pop, and indie tunes that I was easily able to block out when I wanted to do so. Other customers were not loud at all - this space seems to attract folks who have Stuff To Do, so if you need vicarious inspiration to get work done, this might be a good spot. Here's what might keep you away, and there are definitely things that I will consider next time: 1) If you want to pay more than $6 for your drink before tipping, you're going to do that here. My drink was over $7, which is the most I've ever paid for an iced matcha. I do hope that they are paying their employees a living wage with these prices. 2) If you don't want to pay for street parking, you'll need to find a spot in a residential neighborhood and walk a few blocks. This may be of interest to those with budget or ability concerns. I don't mind walking, and I detest paying for overpriced street parking. But if this doesn't bother you, go wild. Should you come here? If you need a place to work with sunshine and you have a flexible fancy coffee shop budget, you could live your best life here. But maybe don't get the matcha. read more

Walking into this beautiful place i was EXCITED!! I found it online by chance and the aesthetic is just my style! I really loved the place and atmosphere! It's a wonderful place to study and get things done, but the food and coffee just weren't that good to me! The coffee felt a bit watered down and truly not very coffee tasting.... and the burrito sadly just wasn't it either!! It lacked a lot of flavor and i did not like the hot sauce... and i love hot sauce! I actually didn't even finish the burrito sadly, it just needed a lot of things added for me! If in the future they change things up and add new things to the menu I would be willing to give this place another chance!! I really do love the atmosphere but the drinks/food didn't taste good for me! I know everyone has their own taste in food and coffee (especially) so I would say still give it a chance, you might like it way more than me!! read more

Came here on a Monday afternoon and got a small hot latte. The taste of the latte was excellent, with very strong espresso flavor and not overly foamed milk. I ordered a size small was a bit surprised by how small the drink was. Not sure if Edda is going for Joe and the Juice vibes? I would need to order a larger size just to get enough latte next time. Syrup flavors included vanilla, maple, honey.. would have liked more specialty lattes. I love the interior of the coffee shop as it was airy, full of natural light, and with elegant and clean designs. Love the modern wood furnishings. Great for getting work done. There's a small outdoor section as well. Parking can be pretty hard to find on the side streets and the time limit is quite limited. read more
