Great place to work. I ordered an iced coffee with vanilla and whole milk. I tend to be picky with iced coffee, but this was some of the best iced coffee I've had! Highly recommend! read more

I really enjoyed my coffee; it was such a good roast I could drink it black. The paintings on the walls are quirky, the plants give it a cozy coffee shop vibe that makes it just like the ones in all the cozy coffee shop games come to life. read more

Fun feature: Little library shelf right at the checkout where you can read a book while enjoying your coffee. A lot of guests linger to work from this location or read. Tucked in Coventry neighborhood, there's Phoenix Coffee. The first thing you notice walking in is the vibe -- warm exposed brick walls, quirky and ever-changing local art (currently fairytale motif), and the smell of seriously strong, seriously good coffee. The Siren Eclipse art on the wall is alone worth the visit. And the scones? Unreal. Flaky, buttery, and somehow always fresh out of the oven. Really probably the best around. There's also other breakfast snacks like muffins and such. Very limited options but very tasty. Bonus points for the greenery -- the place doubles as a mini plant shop. There's a few leafy ones you can pick up. I got large drip coffee while I was there and it perfectly strong. There's two size options, light or dark roast. The menu also features some seasonal favorites. I had recently spring matcha there that was so vibrantly green. There's also a pretty extensive tea assortment. For warmer months, consider seating outside. They have very fun and aesthetically pleasing wooden benches. Street parking is available in the area but it gets busy. Try parking garage on the street to park. It's free to use. read more

Came here to work while my car was in the shop, and really enjoyed my time here. The coffee shop is quiet with a good amount of seating, and the baristas were very friendly. I ordered the bandit (latte with lapsang syrup) and a mango/guava muffin--the muffin was good, but although made well, I really didn't enjoy the bandit (the lapsang syrup was a lot smokier than I anticipated). Although I'd order something different next time, I'll happily return! read more

Dear Phoenix Coffee on Coventry, There's something undeniably magical about your space--and I've come to believe that magic begins with the people. Whoever brought your team together clearly understands that a great coffee shop isn't just about the beans or the brew; it's about the hearts behind the counter, the smiles exchanged across the register, and the genuine care that flows as freely as your coffee. Every time I walk through your door, I'm greeted not just with the comforting scent of espresso but with a sense of belonging. The staff somehow always strike that perfect balance between professionalism and warmth. They remember names, favorite drinks, and on some days, they even seem to know when someone just needs a quiet corner and a kind word. There's a beautiful light that fills your space, both literally and figuratively. Whether it's someone quietly reading in the window seat or two neighbors catching up over lattes, the place radiates connection. And that spirit seems to ripple out into the whole of Coventry Village. The artists, musicians, and storytellers who call this place home are a reflection of the very soul you nurture. I once overheard someone say, "Phoenix is where the coffee is good, but the people are better." And they weren't wrong. It's hard to describe what makes your café feel so special--maybe it's the quiet joy of being recognized, or the way strangers here feel like old friends waiting to be met. But I know one thing for sure: this little corner of Cleveland is brighter because you're in it. With gratitude and caffeine-fueled affection, A Grateful Regular Ben with the hats. read more

Overshare of the century but my travel plans were cancelled last minute and I was desperate to find a place where I can waste a few hours. What better place to do that than a coffee shop? None of my local Starbucks are any good so I went to one of the few Phoenix coffee locations for the first time. Phoenix coffee is a Cleveland-based local chain with a nice one situated in nearby Coventry Village. I walked in and instantly felt more serene as there are lots of plants and local art for sale. I dumbly asked what their lowest calorie iced coffee would be. They tried their best not to judge me, (hey, I'm judging me!), but they helped me settle on just a plain cold brew. Their cold brew was definitely a lot stronger taste than a Starbucks cold brew. It was okay. I love the vibe, especially as a place to just hang out for a few hours, judgement-free. But I wish they offered unsweetened almond milk. There is only oat and soy. The drink menu is very small without any seasonal offerings out yet. Also, the benches/chairs are NOT comfy - bring your own cushion! Overall, this is a pretty good local coffee chain. One day I hope to try their baked goods! They looked yummy! read more

I came here after reading the Yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed.. I had a cortado that was exquisitely crafted by a team that clearly takes pride in what they do. Ivan welcomed me when I came to the counter, spoke about the menu with knowledge, spoke about their great tea offerings as I was trying to recall a lavender tea drink I saw in a review. Warm friendly and positive attitude from the team. I did not catch the other team member's name. The music was pleasant and loud enough to her, but not so loud you couldn't concentrate. They have a great selection of gluten free treats as well.and you can not only get the locally roasted coffee they serve but take home a plant from their selection. Phoenix coffee s located in the Cleveland heights area with many charming shops and offerings in the same couple of blocks. It is across the street from the Tru Value heights hardware. Phoenix is one of my favorite spots to enjoy a great latte while catching up with friends or while getting in some much needed studying :) Their coffee and small snacks are consistent and yummy. And of course the fact that they do NOT charge extra for oat milk?? Come on, that alone has me coming back to Phoenix (a PSA for non-milk drinkers who hate being punished with an extra charge at other coffee shops for being lactose-intolerant) I've studied here consistently and it's definitely on the medium to high noise level depending on the day, but I personally like having the white noise and always bring my headphones in case I need a bit more silence. read more

I often start my mornings walking over to Phoenix Coffee to grab a Chai with oat milk. I've studied here a few times as well. Everyone is really friendly. Quick service & drinks are consistent. Nice selection of baked goods. Their everything bagel is one of the best bagels I have had in Cleveland. The thyme & Gruyère scone is also delicious. They also sell other items. They feature a rotating selection of artists in their store, so you can purchase interesting wall art and prints. They carry a variety of plants from Sixth City Cycles. read more

Perfect coffee place to get some work done. Huge windows that let light in. Room is full of small tables and outlets every few feet along the wall. The temperate is not too cold, not too hot. Music not too loud. typical hipster vibes. I've tried the coffee, and lavender lemonade. Both good and reasonably priced. Also got the oatmeal raisin cookie- huge and super delicious. They also have a bunch of other pastries (muffins, croissants, etc.) that i'm excited to try in the future. read more

Phoenix Coffee is one of the coffee shops that you can find near the University Circle. I'm sure that at some point, almost any person living at Cleveland has been to Coventry. I got the peppermint mocha since it was a seasonal drink, and was left disappointed. I even checked Google to make sure that peppermint mochas are supposed to have coffee. Because I certainly couldn't taste coffee. All I tasted was chocolate syrup. Part of the reason customers come to coffee shops is because we enjoy the ambiance that comes in coffee shops. Phoenix Coffee seemed to be lacking in ambiance that day I came. The music is too loud. But at least the baristas were incredibly friendly. Hell, they even recognized a regular and went out of their way to take away his finished cup of coffee. Parking sucks at Coventry. Phoenix Coffee is no exception. Be prepared to bring your quarters so that you can park next to parking meters. read more

Phoenix is one of those places where you go sit and read and just expect to have a meet-cute. This place is in such a cozy spot that gets great sunlight through its huge bay windows and has that perfect trendy coffee shop vibe. I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but their chai latte is spot on, and they have a decent tea selection an other less-caffeinated options. They also have a great bakery selection, which I always go for a scone (sweet or savory depending on my mood, favorite is easily sour cream and onion). What really gets me every time is the plant stand - I can't come here without buying another one since they always have such great picks! When it's nice out, they have a few cute picnic bench set ups on the side of the building too! read more

Recently moved here from Fairmount where we had a whole coffee/pastry routine. Now living in Coventry area, we rediscovered Phoenix coffee. The coffee is great. Yesterday I had the Fall Flavors latte. Yummy. I do wish they had almond milk. But I manage with their Oat milk. Great service. Friendly vibe. Beautiful cozy interior with plants and art by local artists. They also had a vendor's locally made honey, which of course I bought. . I'm happy I reconnected with an old favorite. read more

Phoenix Coffee is a solid coffee shop in Coventry! I absolutely love all the plants that they have everywhere, as well as the plants that they'll sometimes have on sale! As far as coffee goes, I really enjoy their cold brew, though I feel like their iced coffee is a little too acidic for my tastes. I really enjoy the seasonal tea lattes that they have, such as the lavender lattes, and their pastries are solid, though nothing too special. While it's occasionally a good spot to study, I find that sometimes the music is too loud, and it can get pretty crowded in the afternoons. Nonetheless, it's a Cleveland Heights staple and definitely worth checking out! read more

I enjoy the gluten free bakery items on my visits. I always get one or two to go. I'm not a huge sweets person so I get a hot beverage to sip while snacking on the baked goods. I would classify this as a hipster study & splurge spot. I am one antsy person, so I appreciated the variety of seating options ranging from small tables and chairs to a long bar with stools where you can sit or stand. So far this is the only coffee shop I've found that sells Cleveland Bagel Co. bagels AND....HOMEMADE. ~vegan ~CREAM. CHEESE. I will say the portion they give you is super tiny, though. So if you're a shmear fiend, prepare for minor disappointment with that high price tag. The coffee is good, too. Much tastier than the starshmucks I'm currently sitting in. Been twice and plan to go back one day when I can get over the price and parking situation. read more

NOTE: I will give this place another chance it this review is for my visit siring the winter. TEMP: it's snowing and it's cold outside today and inside this coffee shop it's not that much different than the weather outside. ITS COLD in HERE! I can never understand why coffee shops and small places in Cleveland don't have a hot air fan above the door, this place doesn't have one either. So every time someone walks in And out and attic breeze rushes in. ITS CLEVELAND PEOPLE warm this place up. NOISE: it's Loud. COFFEE: I ordered a what was supposed to be a Hot Chai latte it also was cold. THE STAFF: friendly. So as long as u keep ur coat on and bring headphones and ask for drinks to be served extra hot, you will be okay here. As I mentioned, I will come back and give it another shot. If I return during winter, I will know what to bring and how to prepare. If I return in the summer, I'm sure it will be amazing read more

Great coffee. Delicious pastries. Welcoming vibe. Sometimes hard to find parking. Service is helpful.

This is definitely a place that you would go for the experience! First of all the staff is super friendly and helpful. The cafe requires masks which makes me feel safe and they also offer free masks. I somehow managed to spill coffee onto my mask LOL so having that free mask offer was definitely helpful. They also have these little signs on the table that says "this has been cleaned and sanitized". when you leave you would flip it over so it's red and says "needs to be cleaned". Definitely a nice touch that makes the place even more COVID-safe, which i really appreciate. Coffee wise, my go-to order at cafes are always iced latte. When i asked for one at the counter, i was told it's typically done with cold brew but offered to do it with espresso if i want. The coffee wasn't bad but not the best. This is the only reason i'm giving it a 4 star not 5. A bit more picky is that, it seems like the overall vibe of the cafe is more hipster, green, environmentally friendly, but i was a bit shocked at these plastic straws. It just seems a bit out of place given the vibe in other parts of the cafe, but not a deal breaker for me. My favorite part about this cafe however, is definitely the environment. The decor is super cute with lots of natural lights and plants. There're large tables with outlets underneath, good wifi and clean bathrooms. I'd imagine that during non-COVID times this would be a great place to study and get some work done. However with COVID there is kinda a "time limit", where you should only stay there for at most 2 hours. I doubt they kick you out but i left after 2 hours just out of courtesy. Overall, great experience, would definitely come back. read more

My girls and I decided to have a nice walk in Coventry, Cleveland. We came across this coffee shop and fell in love. The aesthetics at this place was lovely. Plants everywhere and cute tables throughout. I'd say it fits about 30-40 people comfortably. There are a couple of tables outside, which is where we decided to sit. It was a beautiful day out, so why not?! We each enjoyed an iced chai latte with lavender. It was so good. The lavender gave it that floral taste. Which I enjoy A LOT! To accompany this delicious coffee, I had a lemon scone. It was perfect! Lemon flavor was amazing. Not too strong...It was soft but had crispy edges.. Yum yum! read more

This is a sweet little study spot located in the lively Coventry Village area! I stopped in after perusing a local antique store with my boyfriend one night. I got a giant, warm cup of chai tea which was phenomenal and he had a coffee. I have yet to study here, but my roommate does all the time. Comfortable seating and a pleasant, upbeat environment. My only concern was I could not find any outlets near the tables my boyfriend and I were sitting at, so I may have to get creative about finding somewhere near an outlet when I return to study. But, I would highly recommend it and cannot wait to go back sometime soon :) read more

I'm really a big fan of Phoenix Coffee. It's a great spot to get some work done but also to meet and catch up with friends. My favorite drink used to be the speedball, but since they changed their menu my favorite is now the mocha with oat milk. I also appreciate that they have baked goods from local establishments, and the prices are comparable to other coffee shops. The parking can be tricky, depending on when you go, but it's definitely worth it for the drinks and ambiance. They have reliable wifi, which is important for getting work done, and they even have outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. The background music isn't too loud, and there are lots of seating options. Overall, I only have good things to say about Phoenix! read more

This is my new favorite coffee shop and the best mocha soy latte that I've ever had! I'm new to the area and stumbled upon this coffee shop while searching on yelp. The shop itself is a great place to get things done and there are plenty of outlets in case you need to charge your laptop/phone/ipad. Very chill vibes in this shop - music not too loud, big windows allowing for good natural lighting, everyone working on things on their computer or studying. The baristas are all very friendly. The MOCHA SOY LATTE - oh man, I love this drink. Usually when I get a mocha latte the mocha can be a little overpowering. The mocha soy latte here has a creamy chocolate-y taste with a nice amount of froth at the top which is exactly how I like it. Highly recommend this place to anyone who needs to study or be productive! I will definitely be coming here often. read more

The coffee is great, the atmosphere is cool, but the chocolate chip cookies are underbaked and light on chips!

I feel lucky that I live so close to a Phoenix location, as I enjoy doing work there while sipping on a nice coffee. They have good quality WiFi, coffee, and pastries, and lots of seating for its small size. If you need an outlet you do have to make sure there is one near your seat as not all seats have one nearby, but that is really my only complaint. Very friendly staff, as well! read more

Phoenix coffee on Coventry is one of my personal favorite coffee shops in the area. As a graduate student, good study spots are highly coveted and this is one of those amazing coffee shops to sit down with a coffee, pastry and grind. The shop is on the smaller side, and sometimes it's difficult to get a spot but in the morning it's never a problem. They always have excellent music and enough traffic to create a little noise, but never distracting. The baristas are always so helpful and friendly and their drinks are to die for! Food: Locally roasted in Cleveland, Phoenix Coffee is my go-to place for picking up some grounds to brew at home and to sit down with a cappuccino or latte. Their Blackbird blend is my favorite! I like dark roast coffee, and this hits the spot. They also offer teas and typically coffee shop bevs. They are stocked with Cleveland Bagels (which can be hard to find on the east side) as well as other breakfast goods. Atmosphere: Its your typical coffee shop vibe - a little hipster, casual, a little bit of soft seating with mainly tables and chairs, and edison bulbs, of course. For how small the shop is, there are plenty of seats to hang out for a while. Its also a popular spot to work on a laptop. The staff is always friendly and welcoming.
