I was an outsider/extra to my mom's elite event here at Cafe Mocha. I always up for coffee as a once in a while treat and this place hit the spot for sure. We were greeted upon entering, which is always a plus to start off strong. The room is very open, great lighting both from inside and out. My order came quickly after ordering and the gals behind the counter followed up with me on how much non dairy creamer I wanted. I let it sit for a moment and took my first sip, and very smooth!! We talked with two girls about the Cafe and how, it is going to be a year come April. Smart business decision to use the old tenants cardboard jackets to protect from a hot beverage cup. We talked more in depth about the transition from the old Leo's to La Mocha Cafe and had to throw in our favorite coffee scene from Kicking and Screaming with Will Ferrell. A really good cup of coffee. Plenty of other drinks I would be more than willing to try if and when I were to venture out to Lakewood again. Very personable and friendly staff. I'm pleasantly surprised at how many awesome coffee shops there are in NE Ohio. Add this one to your list coffee fans!

Inviting entry way at La Mocha

I believe in supporting local and I'm very happy to see this vibrant woman owned establishment in a cozy community. The place is inviting and as most of us love has a few great places for photo ops. I came in around valentines and decorations filled the space and lit it up even more. My partner and I tried drinks and a pastry. The brown sugar shaken espresso was delicious! She also raved about her Chai Latte and hadn't had the combination. There were also adult friendly alcoholic options which is clutch in my opinion- work days turn into nights so having different options is a selling point in my opinion. The pastry was just ok. It wasn't bad but I wouldn't order it again. We went around 9:30 am and it took some time to make the drinks. This isn't a traditional negative, but I like to know if I can quickly stop in and hop out or should I expect to be there. Based on this interaction carve out 20 minutes if traffic is slow inside. I've only been there once so maybe something else was going on. I would go back! I would go back, bring my laptop, have some coffee, and enjoy the vibes!

Bacon and Egg sandwich on a croissant ($5.50), minus cheddar cheese (July 2024)

I visited for the first time in July 2024 after my morning workout. I met Dionna, the owner, who opened up the cafe in the morning. She was very nice to talk with and I enjoyed getting to know a little bit about her business. They are a cafe that offer coffee and tea along with smoothies but they also sell alcohol for those who want to visit after work for "happy hour". La Mocha Cafe is located in the same building where Addicted Coffee and Ice-Cream used to be located. Addicted is now closed and LaMocha opened about 3 months ago around April 2024. Don't be confused by the Addicted Coffee/Ice-Cream sign located outside LaMocha Cafe because it eventually will be taken down. Addicted is not affiliated with LaMocha Cafe. FOOD/DRINKS -- They offer pastries, sandwiches, smoothies, ice-cream, tea, and coffee drinks. When I visited in July 2024, I ordered just a breakfast sandwich. I bought the bacon and egg sandwich on a croissant without the cheese ($5.50). It was really good especially the buttered croissant. HOURS -- They are currently opened at the hours listed below: Mon + Wed, Thurs 7am - 7pm Fridays 7am - 10pm Saturdays 9am - 10pm Sunday 9-3pm This cafe is connected to Uptown Finds vintage store next door. There is a small connecting path/door between both businesses so you won't have to go outside to visit Uptown Finds. NOTE -- Give the owner some grace. I arrived just past 7am when they opened; however, they were closed but the owner eventually arrived about 10 mins later. I understand as a small business, it can be hard to get going especially with little to no employees. We have all probably been late to work before but I'm happy that the cafe opened. If you're looking for a quick morning beverage or breakfast sandwich and you live close to Madison Ave., then give this business a try. The owner of the cafe is super nice and friendly so stop on in and support this local, black-owned business. I've only been here once so a 4/5 rating is fair for now. I'll definitely be back. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 75/150 total reviews in 2024 - 725 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 21 July 2024

The best coffee shop ever. We really enjoyed the coziness and coffee drinks. We sat at the table in the relaxing atmosphere for a long time, talking. We ate our cookies, and the sausage croissant sandwich for $3 was delicious. Owner Dionne was most friendly, and we talked to her about her shop for a while. La Mocha has a liquor license, so seasonal/holiday drinks are popular, and she is often opened until 10 p.m. on the weekends. Next door is her shop, Uptown Finds, which has a lot of mid-century furniture and decorating items, some clothing, and sports caps. This Yelp evening was fun, thanks to our manager, Stephanie.

Loved visiting this little spot! The owner was so personable and friendly! They had a ton of different drink options including plenty of festive ones. I got a toasted marshmallow latte and it was DELISH! It wasn't too sweet, thank goodness! I also had a peanut butter cookie that was soft and delicious! Mmmm! I would definitely come back here !

I got the iced coconut strawberry matcha and it was so good! But for two 16oz iced matchas, the total came to around $20. Delicious drinks, but definitely a once-in-a-while treat for me

Avocado toast

Love love LOVED my first experience at La Mocha. Their coffee and breakfast menus are both vast and affordable. I ended up getting an order of avocado toast and an iced lavender vanilla latte. I so appreciated the size of the 16oz latte (most places only offer one *small* 8oz size). I also found that I absolutely love the beans they use for their espresso. So good! I think it's important to note that when I go to coffee shops / cafe's, I end up spending $25+ on a coffee and a sandwich. At La Mocha, the coffee was $4 and the avocado toast was $6 for a grand total of only $10 (plus a $2 tip)! The price point plus the quality of coffee and food make this, in my opinion, a cafe that you cannot pass up. Definitely check them out.

I visited for the first time for lunch in late October 2025 with friends. After lunch, we all went…read moredownstairs to play mini golf and we had so much fun. FOOD -- I ordered the Slow Braised Pork ($22) which includes sweet potato gnocchi, fennel, crispy sage, and apple cider glaze. This was a delicious and very hearty meal. I hardly eat pork so I'm glad that I enjoyed the dish. The sweet potato gnocchi was perfectly paired with the pork. Everything in the dish just blended well together. All my friends enjoyed their food too, from the meatballs, calamari, burger with fries, ratatouille, and more. I nibbled on a few of them and loved it especially the wagyu meatballs. The food was all full of flavour. Service was nice all afternoon as the server came to check on us a few times including refilling our water glasses. MINI GOLF -- Head downstairs to play some games. You pay a fee and are then given score sheets. A friend's friend had surprisingly paid for all of us and I had no idea until the next day (for some reason I thought the mini golf was included in the lunch cost...LOL). Each golf game has a different course with some being more challenging than others. I recommend Birdietown Mini Golf and Lounge for a fun day of mini golf plus lunch. I can see myself coming back again. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 48/250 total reviews in 2026 - 889 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 24 April 2026

We have 8-10 people so they just had us split into two, which was fine. The vibe was great, felt very upscale. My group mostly got mocktails. I felt like for just juice it was definitely over priced, because I felt like I was just drinking lemonade as we were playing mini golf. We only paid to play the upstairs holes, and it was good enough for us. We did not make a reservation for dinner which we regretted, but they were able to get us two tables in the downstairs area. Not a traditional seating, it was very comfy with one side being a booth and the otherwise having two comfy lounge chairs. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was large and delicious. The chicken was well fried and the bread was so good. The fries were good, but the aioli was 12/10, so so so good! The food did take some time to come, but they were busy and were kind enough to find a spot for us. I told the staff it was someone birthday in our group and they brought a special birthday dessert which we al tried and it was great. Their menu is worth the price and the vibe is definitely jeans and a nice shirt, or a casual dress. Perfect for date night or a birthday dinner, and I look forward to coming back. The TLDR: staff was really nice, food was great, mocktails a little expensive, and the mini golf was super fun.

CLE's best kept secret!…read more A few of my friends raved about Smoke & Mirrors, so I finally checked it out. I stopped in during Stargazers Ball hosted by YoreCraeft Productions. It was a fun cosmic costume party at Smoke & Mirrors. Smoke & Mirrors delivers on their promise, there are mirror accents and intermittent smoke. They also have a lot of silver accents that have a cool juxtaposition with the cave look. You can find this nightclub underground at Clandestina on West 25th. Enter the club by going through mezcalería (Clandestina) and going downstairs. The club calls themselves "subterranean catacomb club." I'd describe it as a nightclub giving off speakeasy vibes with some exposed brick, cave vibes, and sultry red illumination. It's a very mysterious dungeon looking club. It's raw and unusual for the local nightclub scene in the very best of ways. The coolest space in this club is the once upon a time coal room that serves as a little private nook to sip your cocktails. The rest of the club has one dance floor, some comfy seats against the wall, and a small bar. It's very intimate. The club is mostly known for its EDM DJs. Don't expect big names but expect good music. You can find their lineup on their IG @smokeandmirrorscle. They're open on Thursdays for karaoke, and Saturdays for DJ and dancing. The party that I attended had a lot of dancing and good vibes. The club seems to have a cover charge, but the amount is not shared on their socials. The menu consists of cocktails, craft beer, and wine, which is a generous selection for a night club. There were some themed cocktails during my visit ranging from $8-$14. I certainly plan to stop by during a regular weekend night to check out the full experience and DJ's. You should too. If you drop in, stop Clandestina bathroom for a selfie with flattering light. Can't wait for my next visit!

I was excited to stop in for a cocktail. We love finding quaint new places with an interesting appeal and from afar this certainly met those details. However, we stopped in this past Saturday, for my daughter's birthday celebration. I was super pumped to come back - ( see sentences above! ) Anyway, 4 of us walked in ( there would be a total of 6 ) and while yes it's small, not too small for a small party of 6. There was a couple at the bar and a girl who was drinking a mimosa in a robe so I think it's safe to assume she was getting a treatment from the spa. We had been inside about 10-15 minutes with no bar tender or staff to be seen. I saw the couple received their drinks but while we were taking pics, I never saw a staff member- so I asked them if there was anyone taking orders. He said yes, they were in other room. Still nobody coming out. Our other two members of our party arrived and we looked at menus and still no one. Finally, a girl comes out. Walks over, does not even say hello, and says: do you want drinks?!?! We put our orders in and 1 minute later she comes out and says, um this table is reserved ( or something close to that ) in 20 minutes and actually we will probably need both tables soooo.........so I guess that was our que to say never mind. I guess had they come out and taken our order when we first arrived it would have been fine, but we weren't looking to do shots with our full size drinks. No apologies or anything just like ok bye when we said we would go somewhere else. So here's my input: 1. Sacred Hour- do not advertise this space to the outside community if you can only accommodate your clients that are receiving services. 2. Train your staff. A hello, A greeting, something, anything. Not - "do you want drinks?!" That in itself was so distasteful. Not to mention the prices of drinks are not cheap. This is an upscale place ( or appears to be ) 3. Bottom line- we will not return. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I would return back to this location for my spa services either. I think that people have forgotten how to be courteous and polite. People do not realize ( or maybe they do and just don't care ) that the reason they stay in business is because of their customers. Treating your customers with kindness is epic. You know the old saying - you get more bees with honey?!? Well, Tribu- maybe you should rethink this and add it to your training instead of coffee or tea!
