Amazing speakeasy with an awesome cocktail menu. Getting to this place was very easy to get to and when you walk in you're in awe of the chandeliers and ambiance. The giggle juice was absolutely delicious. It was the perfect balance of sweet and bubbly.

I frequented this speakeasy on several occasions after dinner's downtown with friends and the drinks never disappoint. I also like the way that you have to come in to the bar through a weird little broom closet hallway. They always have it decorated beautifully for Christmas and have a lot of glassware options available for purchase during the holiday. The spot always gives a cute cozy modern prohibition feel.

Wonderful creative cocktails. Lots of space to sit and even a secluded room which is quieter. Super friendly server. A light is built into the menu which is awesome.

I rarely ever write reviews, but this place is truly a hidden treasure. Shout out to our bartender Jordan! I've been to countless bars and met more than my fair share of bartenders, but Jordan is in a class of his own. Protect this man at all costs! His artistry with cocktails is nothing short of remarkable. His conversations were tantalizing and his knowledge base was beyond norms. The menu itself is inventive, beautifully designed and fun, but what really impressed me was trusting Jordan's craft beyond the pages. After a few pleasantries and questions, I gave Jordan, "Dealers choice" and every drink he served there after was balanced, imaginative, and executed with precision. When my SO didn't know what she wanted to order, Jordan asked her to close her eyes, imagine a place she wanted to be transported to, anywhere on the planet. She said the mountains! and holy smokes! This drink did not disappoint. The presentation, The aromatics, The flower Garnish, The flavors... The drink put you in the spring time mountains. The only word to describe the drinks and Jordan's excellence is: Ethereal. Finding it: We stumbled upon this speakeasy completely by accident, raincoats on, dripping wet after a concert, wandering down the street looking for some food, drinks or shenanigans. From the outside, the entrance looked more like an antique shop or maybe even a quirky little museum dedicated to mid-century modern furniture. Only when we stepped inside, and down the steps, did we realize we'd discovered something far more magical. A Broom Closet. The atmosphere is intimate and warm, tucked away like a secret, meant only for those curious enough to seek it out. Between the cozy basement setting, the subtle vintage charm, and Jordan's unmatched hospitality, the entire experience felt like being let in on a little secret that you almost don't want to share, because it's just. that. good. If you're lucky enough to find it, don't just stop in -settle in. Ask questions, try something new, allow yourself to vibe. This place isn't a bar, it's an experience. PS: this is not a sports bar, so don't be rude and ask for the Lions game or any sports to be put on the TV's. It's not the vibe or the crowd. Cheers! We will be back! But next time with some more friends! 10/10

Enjoyed a couple cocktails and a charcuterie board last night at Society. We had a sour and a pear martini. Staff was friendly and checked on us often. The charcuterie board was delicious but due to the lighting, we couldn't see what we were eating which made it a fun blind taste test basically lol. Always a treat.

really cute cocktail bar with speakeasy vibes! I came for their annual holiday miracle pop up bar. They did an incredible job with Christmas decorations! there's some tables and some areas for standing. I'm excited to come back and try their usual menu. They validate part of the East 4th valet

I'm sure it would have been nice had we got in. They had serious communication issues between the inside bar and the outside door keeper. Neither could hear each other. We waited the time they quoted, reqouted, and requoted. No luck for our four top that was ready to spend some $. So...make a reservation.

Strange, dark vibe. Extremely and unnecessarily long wait time for 1 drink. That wasn't good. And was so expensive.

We were able to snag a couple of seats as 2 people were leaving. The place obviously lived up to its name. It's a vault, I get it... But what's cool about it was exploring all the extra rooms and booths. Certainly fun to get lost in it. I was also impressed by how festive it was. They were already decked out in Christmas decor, and the bartenders were in ugly Christmas sweaters. The cocktails were notably pricier than neighboring cocktail bars in the $16-$25 range. Their most expensive one was $35. I wanted to get The Safety Deposit, but they didn't have chartreuse at the time. I settled for the Post's Pom, which was nicely refreshing but overly sweet. My friend got the Cleveland Trust. It was tasty but also too sweet, and the charred dried orange killed the taste. My olfactory and taste senses were so confused. Can't say that The Vault was my favorite bar solely based on the quality of the cocktails, but can't beat the vibes.

The bouncer proceeded to tell us we couldn't sit there and that we had to move to the room which looked like a warehouse that they added on and was freezing cold. We decided to get a drink. But that was kind of difficult. They didn't have more than 10 bottles to choose from. They were advertising Avion throughout the club. The bartender said they were still recovering from All Star weekend. And that's why they didn't have much to serve. But a few moments later I saw them bring out a bottle of Avion and serve it to a VIP table. Also be ready to pay $30+ for one single drink and $5.00 for a bottle of water. When they didn't think we were paying attention, the bartender told who we presumed was the owner that we were annoyed and he said "well tell them to go away". Then they had a nice chuckle. We just paid $90 for 3 shots plus a cover charge and you want us to go away? Ok, bye! Will NEVER go back.

The friend with me that night even questioned if we were in the right place as I strolled to the back of the restaurant and walked up to the girl seated at a podium. "Excuse me, but is this the way to the foundation room?" I asked her. She affirmed, and we were soon on our way up an elevator. Since the Metropolitan is home to an apartment complex, an upscale hotel, a rooftop bar, a dog park, a Pilates studio, a theater, a basement vault bar, and a "high-end" eatery, there's a whole lot of people constantly coming and going. Sitting at the four (five?) two-person tables situated right at the balcony railing means you can easily lean over and watch people come and go while sipping your drinks. Unlike the rest of the bars in the hotel, I was told there was no drink menu at the Ledger, and the bartender (who waited my table!) simply asked what flavor profile I was desiring tonight. The resulting drink he made was honestly good, and I really enjoyed it. Zero idea what was in it to ever order it again (and he was really overworked to ask!), but it was a neat experience of a "craft your own experience". There were a few beers on tap. I'm unsure about wine. Centro's food menu (restaurant downstairs) appears to be available here. There's a single unisex bathroom within steps of the bar, and the regular hotel lobby bathrooms are down a floor. As conference rooms are nearby this bar, I'd also probably guess there's a large conference room bathroom block too, but I didn't find that one. The rest of the bars and restaurants in the Metropolitan tend to take most of the attention here, and the Ledger has a much more laid-back, chill vibe. A lot of people were watching a sports game (baseball, I think?) on the TV behind me. With the smaller space and wide "open" area of the full lobby, the Ledger feels like your calmest, quietest bar option out of the available places at the Metropolitan.
