Visited The South Side recently for dinner. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated. The place was not busy and we were shocked by this, given the location. We were given water, menus, and time. I requested salmon with polenta. My son requested brisket mac n cheese. My wife requested a turkey sandwich and french fries. The ambience in the place is nice. It was a beautiful, sunny evening and many people sat outside. When the food arrived, it looked very appetizing. My salmon and polenta were excellent. The sauce it was served with was creamy and yummy. The salmon had a crispy exterior that was pleasing. The polenta was excellent with the sauce. Great dish! My wife enjoyed her turkey sandwich, but ended up switching dishes with my son, since he didn't love the brisket mac n cheese. That dish ended up not being eaten. I'm glad we had dinner here. Visited "The South Side" restaurant/bar for lunch today, in Tremont. Half the building is a great bar with all high tops, and the other half is a dining room with all low tops. Then there's a big patio for nice weather. It was a nice sunny spot to sit and relax. Enjoy a beverage and my all time favorite... The Lamb Burger! That is the best burger there is (assuming you like lamb). Fresh ground lamb smash burger, grilled onion, cheddar, sweet & spicy chili crisp sauce on a toasted bun. I always ask for the chili sauce on the side. I followed it with one of the best desserts around. Orange Phyllo Cake, warm phyllo dough cake layered with orange slices. Served with powdered sugar, yuzu cream cheese and cranberry compote... Amazing. The hostess, and our server (Michelle) were very pleasant and did a nice job. The only small issue was a party of 16 people right next to us... you can imagine the noise level. But that was no one's fault. They were having fun. So yes, I definitely recommend. Give them a try. I stopped here on a cold Saturday out with my mom. We were beyond hungry and opted for the Tremont Burger and Cheeseburger respectively. The burgers really hit the spot and were overall tasty. My mom was a big fan of the onion ring in her Tremont burger. Since we were out and about it also got a purple haze mocktail which was well balanced and I'd recommend. We stopped in before heading downtown for a Cavs game and the staff was pleasant quirky and quick. They offer a weekly special menu for when inspiration hits the chef, not to be overshadowed by their regular menu full of bar, bistro and home cooked delights. We settled on a mix of starters and entrees. The lobster bisque was hot and smooth, with big ol chunks of lobster. The rosemary fries were simple but ohhh so good, I could have easily had 2 bowls. The pierogi were delicious, I like my dough a bit thicker, but the chive sour cream outweighed it all. I also have the shrimp tacos, flavor was good, but the guacamole was not my thing, it just felt off. My husband had the lamb smash burger and loved it. Poor & deceptive customer service. Ordered a pickup order online. Arrived. Was told the order never went through. No problem, I understand, glitches and bugs happen. Waited for 25 minutes for my new order to be made, just to be given my ORIGINAL order that had apparently been ready and sitting on the bar the entire time. By the time I got home, the food was over an hour old, soggy, cold, and inedible. Additionally, the staff member assisting me tried to pass off the original order as the new fresh one, rather than owning their mistake and remaking it fresh. Southside in Tremont is always a good choice. I have been here several times and the food has consistently been very good. I have tried the Tremont burger, pierogies, noodles, a few appetizers, and other entrées I cannot recall, and everything has been enjoyable. Drinks are well done, and the brunch champagne bottle deal is one of the best and most affordable in the area. The one drawback is the bee problem on the patio. It seems to be an ongoing issue whenever I sit outside. If you are allergic I would not recommend the patio, but otherwise the food, drinks, and atmosphere make this a solid place to visit. read more

We had made a reservation since we were a large group of 11. We sat in an area that was technically indoors but they had the doors completely open to let in air. But we hardly had any airflow and there weren't any fans so it was stifling and very hot. Most of us were sweating! We did have a great server. Didn't mess up our orders at all and she was really nice. She kept our waters filled and after a while, another worker made sure our waters were filled too. I got the veggie burger since most things on the menu didn't interest me. I got it with a side salad but the vinaigrette was acidic for me so I couldn't finish. I loved the burger though! It was beyond meat. The rest of my table mates got breakfast since they were still serving it or other items on the menu. I got the chance to try the fries which came with an aioli and ketchup. So good! I do like the vibe here though. Tons of outdoor patio seating and I like the indoor area since the had the games on. It's cute! They also had a good playlist in the background. After reading the other reviews, I'm wondering if I ordered the wrong thing. I was really wanting some eggs for brunch and decided to go for the breakfast quesadilla. When it came out, it honestly looked like something I would get at McDonalds or a fast food spot. It was very, very bland and although it came with guacamole and salsa on the side, those weren't very flavorful either. I dunno, I was not impressed and was really bummed because I rarely go out for brunch anymore and high expectations. That being said, their outside patio is amazing and the service was great. I got the apple cider mimosa and it was amazing. The food all around was good. Only complaint is how long it took to get sat. We didn't have a huge party but it took 40 minutes, thankfully we grabbed seats at the bar to wait but wish we could've by passed that because the music is so loud you can't hear anything.
