I ordered the ethnic platter which, if you know the area, means kielbasa, pierogies, sauerkraut, plus a side of cabbage and noodles. My nephew went with the chicken paprikash, and both meals came with a fresh side salad. There was plenty of parking, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and easygoing. We both agreed we'll definitely be back to check out the new menu and spend some time unwinding on their beautiful patio. Pretty bad experience here. Neither staffing nor inventory was sufficient for the first Fish Friday of the year. The kitchen was on a significant wait and they were out of coleslaw, pierogis and any of the craft beers they had on tap. The service at the bar was spotty. Friendly, but hard to track anyone down to order. We were eventually informed that they were out of pierogis about 45 minutes after we ordered them. The fried walleye was fine, but not good enough to have invested nearly two hours there. After reading good reviews about the tavern and good foods we went. We were surprised the owner had passed. The tavern was closed for a few weeks, and reopened with limited food and beer menus. The owner's family plans to get the routine back to normal in February with the popular good beers and old time menu. We got there early and visited at the bar. The chili was excellent. The burger and pierogies were good. Fries were crisp. The bartender was friendly and talked to us. Other patrons arrived, keeping everyone busy. An Irish potato pancake is the base and this Corned Beef version is filled with house prepared smoked brisket, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and topped with Russian dressing... We have never been here before. Great atmosphere and beautiful craftsmanship in the architecture. It is a casual bar and tavern crowd. The service was good and the food was delicious. New management, new menu, new staff. It took 45 minutes to get a burger and chicken wrap which is apparently how long they cooked the burger. The chicken wrap had a half of a chicken tender inside and was missing half the ingredients, the burger was inedible. Sent both back and they neither offered to remake them or take them off the bill. Kitchen manager kept asking us how our meal was when we hadn't even received it. Maybe if she spent some time in the kitchen instead of the entire time sitting around socializing things would have been different but I certainly will never be going back to find out. read more

Hubby and I came here with a couple of friends. None of us had been there in years so we figured we would give a shot. They had a fundraiser the night we went so it was busy. We were able to grab a table pretty easily since the fundraiser was outside on the patio. The server we had was nice but it was his first day. Which as a customer wasn't the best experience because he was very attentive but it seemed like he didn't have mentor to help him out. He was nice, and the service wasn't bad but it could have been better. Personally I feel like that was a poor management call. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza, which was good but pretty average for a Hawaiian pizza. Hubby ordered the brisket boxty. It was good but very salty. Out friends ordered wings with the Thai chili sauce, they said they were good but could have had more sauce, they also ordered the cloud 9 flatbread which they said was good. We ordered 2 rounds of shots, both rounds were the white gummy bears, which is one of my favorite shots. The first round was good the second round as he was carrying the drinks out they did not look right. Once we tasted them it was obvious they were not made correctly. I took them up to the bar and they remade them with no issues. Overall if we had a friend that wanted to go there we would go, but we definitely wouldn't just go back. If you are looking to pay $18 for a plate of fries this your place. My husband ordered the "special" fish fry (cod) and I order the fish (cod) dinner off the menu and received the same dinner for different prices. The Tradesman is my favorite local bar. It's low key and relaxed. The staff is always friendly and down to earth. This is definitely not a stop to make when you're in a rush but rather it runs at a slower pace. The customers are friendly also. You'll always end up making small talk with a stranger. Drinks are dirt cheap and the food is reasonably priced. Try their chicken teriyaki pizza. It's fantastic! I also like how they support local events, especially those within the Ukrainian community. They're always willing to put up a message on their exterior sign--all you have to do is ask. If you need a regular, neighborhood bar I'd highly suggest The Tradesman Tavern as your go to. read more

Definitely a place I would return, just was not overly impressed. Came here twice within the last couple months, and enjoyed my experience. Staff was always friendly and very prompt. The first time I was here, I hoped to order the Chicken Paprikash (which is supposed to be a specialty here) but they were already out for the day. I ordered some Cajun BBQ wings and was definitely pleased. I'm usually pretty picky about wings growing up around Buffalo, NY but these were solid, and would suffice if I was craving wings. We also shared some mac and cheese bites which were fine, but nothing exceptional. The second time, I came earlier in the day, to make sure that I could get some of the Chicken Paprikash before it ran out. I felt this was pretty bland, especially for something that was such a specialty. Tradesman's Tavern had that typical Ohio neighborhood pub feel to it, but roomy because it's a good size place. Choose to sit on a bar stool at the large bar in the center of the room or at one of several tables all around. There is also a nice size outdoor patio with its own bar. Servers are friendly. Prices are really beyond reasonable! What's anything but typical is the food. This is better than regular "bar food". A house side salad is plentifully served on a dinner plate & was really nice - not just bagged lettuce tossed on a plate. I ordered the wings - 10 for $5 and they were tasty, moist & meaty. Several different rubs to choose from & the garlic parmesan was a good choice. Friends ordered the burgers & all were happy. Drinks also reasonably priced. I drove out of my way to the Tradesman today, 50 bucks in my pocket and looking for some carry out from a locally owned place, having been given strict instructions to come home with pizza and some fish fry. I wound up walking out empty handed. Since tonight was the Tribe's home opener, I'll explain why in baseball terms. The wind-up and the pitch: When I arrived through the back door off the parking lot, I was, as always, ignored by the girls serving and tending bar. After milling around awkwardly and having three servers walk past me, I finally flagged one down and asked for a menu. She looked like she was in her late 20s or early 30s, hard to tell with the mask. Wearing a CLE shirt, glasses and overly highlighted blond hair cut in a bob. She was tending the bar. She pauses for about two seconds to grab me a menu before hustling into the kitchen. Strike 1: So I'm standing in the lobby just outside the kitchen, and I look up from the menu to have a peek inside to see if the kitchen staff are wearing masks. They are not. Their masks are being worn as chinstraps. The guys in the back are also not social distancing. They're about 2 foot from each other. Hmm. Strike 2: The girl who gave me the menu is also in the kitchen, grabbing an order that's up. There's a plate of something golden, pretty sure it's fries, sitting there ready. She has pulled her mask down now that she's in the kitchen. She reaches out to take the plate off the shelf and... pulls a big fry off the plate and shoves it in her mouth. At first, I'm shocked, but then I tell myself it's probably hers, she's probably on break. I'm still telling myself this as she finishes saying something to the guys and grabs another big fry and eats it. Okay. Sure. But then she hoists her mask back on, takes the plate, walks it out of the kitchen, past me, and over to the bar, where she SERVES IT TO A CUSTOMER. Strike 3: I ask another server if the owner happens to be there today. I'm pointed in the direction of a woman, I think her name was Michelle. She's standing at the bar, chatting with a couple folks, customers or employees, I'm not sure... and she's not wearing a mask either! She puts it on to talk to me but then stands, way too effing close, in my face as I try to tell her what I just saw. I know the staff there tend to be pretty close-knit, so I had the nagging feeling she didn't want to believe me. I found myself telling her, "Listen, I'm telling you, I saw it with my own eyes. I was standing right there, watching." To her credit, she apologized profusely. But when I asked why the kitchen staff was mask-less, she told me, "Oh, they're exempt from the mask order! No, they can't wear them- it's too hot in there! They'll pass out! And it's a fire hazard!" I accepted this at the time-- after all, she's the owner, she should know. Well, I'm here to inform you that I checked both the text of the governor's mask mandate and the "Considerations for Restaurants and Bars" guidance on the CDC's website, and nowhere does it say your neighborhood burger flipper is exempt from wearing a mask. (And honestly, if our men and women in uniform can wear a tactical mask, helmet, and dozens of pounds of gear in the desert without passing out, I'm confident the dude in the back frying my tots can wear his little cloth mask and live to see tomorrow.) So the owner has now just lied to me. Three strikes- you're out. It makes me sad to write this. I've had some awesome meals at the Tradesman over the past couple years, and their pizza crust is, like magical. But you know what I love more than good pizza? My health. My safety. And feeling like I can trust my local restaurant to look out for me. I so rarely post Yelp reviews, but I just had to post this. Friends, if you value your health-- or if you just value being the only person to have eaten off your own plate-- please avoid this place. read more

Met up with old friends at this place in Parma, first thing I noticed is that it's very nicely put together and clean! Weird thing? Music did NOT match decor because it was some sort of slowed down death metal thing that was very offputting...Thankfully they didn't rack it elsewise I'd made some calls to get the farkleberry outta there.... Wel it was karaoke night and we carried good conversation above the caterwalings of the dude that was singing Chriss Cross's Sailing... My favorite place to go! Amazing food, great service, and being able to sit out on the patio with my dog in the summer is so awesome! The only thing that I CANNOT stand is the DJ that starts blaring and I mean blaring the music. It's quite horrific. This place is okay if you go with the right people. The music is often really random, and the bartenders are SO rude. However, the drinks are strong and there's enough room to sit or stand if you choose. The dance area looks like a middle school dance, with that awkward grinding that you tried your best to avoid.
