This place is my top # 1 bar/restaurant to go to in beautiful, renovated downtown Berea. The food is always exceptional. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience. The drink menu and food menu changes constantly with the seasons but keeps the mainstays. The wings are phenomenal. The Hot Brown is outstanding. Burgers are exceptional. the place has a secondary dining area that could be used for a party but is open during normal hours as well. The outside patio is one of the best I've been to and is a main reason alot of people come to Mike's. Highly recommend it. The only issue I ever had would be sometimes since the place is busy you sometimes can't get a seat inside or outside. Overall a great 9.4 out of 10 however. Went with 3 friends for lunch. It's a bar and grille and rather on the small side except during nice weather then they have an awesome patio. They were packed! It was quite a wait to place our orders but we didn't mind as we were catching up. It seemed like there was only 2 people serving and bartending. The owner was helping bus tables etc. Kudos to Mike, I love seeing an owner help. I was all set ready to order my Hot Brown (love, love, love that dish) but they had a November Turkey sandwich special and I'm a sucker for Turkey and cranberry. Monday night - no line but only 2-tops open so we had a 15 min wait for 3. Ordered right when we were greeted & waited 28 minutes after the salad came out which was about 5 mins so that was too long. A table that got sat about 15 minutes after us got their food before we did by about 10 minutes. That was pretty alarming. Plus server came around & said it'll be out soon, then about 12 mins later said it'll be out soon! That felt like a lame effort & not valuing the customer. We ordered fish sliders, eggplant parm sandwich & eggplant parm pasta. Asked for fries extra crispy but they were soggy & not even crispy at all. Portion was noticeably smaller than the 4 previous times where we were amazed. Wife's sweet potato fries were a lil crispy. I thought coleslaw was a side but was actually on top of fish & was more of a garnish & not really much. The tartar sauce was tasty but the fish didn't quite fill the bun so the bread ratio was a bit too high. Overall a disappointing entree. The eggplant was fine but had to ask for side of sauce since it needed more for sure. The bread to sauce ratio was 10:1. The eggplant parm & salad were good. The pasta was a bit watery like it wasn't drained. Hope this was a one off & not the new norm. Not sure about when we might be up for a return. I'm on a quest to find the best Chicken Parm in Cleveland. Didn't expect Mike's to compete, but it's right there at the top of the list. Crisp, cheesy and saucy, it was delicious! Though the chicken was big enough for 2 meals, another scoop of pasta would have made it perfect. Service was reasonably fast, as I came in on a Tuesday night with a large private party. We were seated in a private room that worked very well for our purposes, though a bit loud due to the high, concrete ceilings and hard floor. A small group of us were visiting the area to see family and we came in here on a Friday evening for just drinks before having dinner elsewhere. The first person we saw greeted us with a smile, we think it was Mike. They were totally packed and it was only 5PM! But he and the bartender who took care of us let us take the last 2 seats at the bar while two of us stood nearby. They have lots of great cocktails and beer to choose from, as well as the typicals beverages. They have an amazingly appetizing menu too! Watching the food come out made us wish we were having dinner there as the food looked and smelled amazing! Overall, the service was excellent and so were the prices. I've been coming here for so long, I consider myself a regular. This amazing place emerged on the other side of Covid-19 just as good as before. Food standards dipped a bit during the pandemic and in the few years after, but have returned to normal. I can't blame them as the food industry was hit hard. This is a place that everyone in the Cleveland area needs to visit at least once. You will come back. Trust me. The patio is a great place to hang out and watch a Tribe game during the season. Bring your doggo too! My favorites here are the Thai Calamari and the Little Mikes. Don't be discouraged that they are listed as appetizers..portions are big enough to be a meal. After a long day of traveling, we were looking for something low key, with vegetarian and meat options. After discovering this place had not one, but two house made veggie burgers, it became the obvious choice. Another review mentioned the beet burger, so I chose that, while my partner opted for a beef burger; we both went with the standard fries as a side. The beet burger was perfect, and my boyfriend was super satisfied with his meat burger. We were seated right away, and drinks were refilled promptly. Stopped here this past Friday a little after 2:00. After parking out front a ways down the street we walked up to the front door but it was locked! No sign or explanation as why. As we were leaving a guy came around the corner and said the back patio was open. We didn't want to sit outside and besides we didn't feel like walking all the way around the building and back afterwards to our car. One of my favorite go-to spots for a good meal in Berea! Everything smacks, from their burgers, to sandwiches, salads, soups, calamari, and anytime they put salmon on their monthly special I'm so happy! My coworkers and I get so pumped when their monthly menu drops, it's always in our group chat! The food is consistently good, great portions, and I always feel like I'm getting a good meal without breaking the bank. One time my bf went to pick up our carry out order and got a Manhattan to go as well. He accidentally dropped it on the way out, and the bartender was awesome enough to whip another one and although he offered to pay, they took pity on his clumsiness and it was on the house. Probably one of the best overall meals, service and experiences we've had in a restaurant since all the shutdowns. The outdoor patios is really cool, they've got a handful of tables and outside bar. The waitress staff was super friendly, our drinks came out quickly and was constantly checking in on us. I ordered the Santa Fe burger with onion rings and the food was just as good as the service. The chorizo mix was great and the chipotle sour cream was a extremely flavorful. If you get the the onion rings definitely get the bbq sauce, it was sweet and spicy and a great dipping sauce. It was really good. Spicy and delicious. For dinner he ordered the Santa Fe Burger - it was a little more done then he likes his burgers, but it had to be because of the sausage that's in the burger. It was spicy and yummy he said. Nice blend of flavors I ordered the A.G. Burger. I changed my cheese to American instead of PepperJack. It has been a while since I had been to Mikes and made a visit on Saturday (10/22) after the BW football game. I forgot how good the food was, but this was a nice reminder. They have a good selection of beers on tap and the staples in bottle for those who don't like drafts (my wife). Our group had Buffalo Egg Rolls, which were much bigger than expected, and a couple different burgers. All were excellent. We sat at the bar as all the tables were full and got lucky with a couple leaving which made room for us. The service was very good and the rest of the staff was very nice too. The only thing this place needs is a little more local ambiance such as pictures of the area and BW sports memorabilia. Looking forward to the next visit. read more

Mike's is a go-to place for my household. It definitely looks and feels a little divey, but oh, is the food fantastic. They have some of the best ranch dressing I've ever had and the buffalo chicken egg rolls are a must (the half order is a good size appetizer for two). My husband loves the meatloaf, I love the tortellini and the salad with blue cheese. The sandwiches are always fantastic, as are the specials. We have tried coming here before on a Friday and didn't feel like waiting, but after coming back a second time and realizing the wait was only 25 minutes, we got a drink and waited patiently. After sitting down on the quieter side of the place we looked at the wonderful menu that had lots of options, but not too many to make you suspicious.
