We had a pretty awesome experience at Gunselman's a couple days ago. We took advantage of the single smash burger with crispy fries, my wife had beef stroganoff, we had a fish and chips. Also everything was amazing. There were like 10 other things on the menu that we can't wait to try. It was a nice cool evening, and we sat out on the patio by far a "hidden gem" restaurant here in Cleveland, but I don't know that it's even hidden because a lot of people know about it. read more

Went with our daughter's to enjoy one of the CLE Burger week specials at 5:45PM. Stood at bar for an hour and were eventually told there was no silverware, menus and the kitchen was asking staff to no longer seat people. Then when sharing our frustration was told that is was 2h to closing and that due to being short-staffed, apparently we were asking a lot for to be seated as a "large party" after a busy weekend. We were at that moment told a table was available. We ultimately paid the bar tab and left to have dinner at Nuevo Acapulco. I was looking for a lobster roll to try today and Gunselman's has been on my list for awhile. It's a bar with patio seating although I opted to sit inside today. I was there at an odd time but it was quiet and comfortable. The service was friendly and efficient. The fried pickles are delicious and the ranch dressing is packed with dill to complement them. The lobster roll was delicious! It's light and flavorful and the clarified butter on the side made it just a little decadent. It's definitely something I would go back for and the menu has other things I would like to try as well. Definitely a good find. read more

This is a really high 2. I'm not sure if we went on an off night, but the service wasn't that great, but as bad as it was it was better than the food. Got drinks and ordered food at the same time. Gold burger and beast burger, 2 waters, a coke and a guinness. 30m later everything came at once. It's a bar so I was surprised they weren't trying to feed us beer, and while we were outside there were plenty of waitresses around to help just not ours. We finally asked a different waitress if we could have our drinks and she's the one that came back with everything. Food was mid. We ordered rare, the beast was as done as done can be and the gold was more of a medium. They didn't taste awful, just not very good. I love gunselmans! It's a local bar that's been in Fairview forever. The food is always great. And I love the patio! We pop in here frequently, mainly because it's so close to home and I love sitting out on the patio. My only complaint is the service...it can be hit or miss. The burgers are always good. Gunselmans, a neighborhood staple. We usually walk to the end of the street and it's like stepping into the bar of a friend, always packed with familiar faces. In the summer we love the patio, especially because our dog gets to sit on the patio, where she thinks the fries and cheese sauce are unlimited. In the summer, the lobster roll is my go to, buttery and full of flavor with a side sweet potato tots, soft and golden. Two servers in the back room area continued to walk by the table and no one bothered to wait on us. After a good 15 minutes we just got up and left. It is hard to find a restaurant that stays open after 10 pm around the airport. We chose this place since it was close to the hotel for quick bite. It is an Irish pub that people like their burgers. I chose Gold Jacket because of the Wagyu Patty. It was delicious though little bit greasy. The fires were so fresh that I ate them all. There are more burgers to chose from. Visited Gunselmans after reading a Reddit post regarding "best burger in Cleveland" I came here seeking a good burger as I was recently disappointed by my experience at Whitey's Tavern in Richfield. This place had a gnarly wait. Front house staff was transparent but kept pushing my party of 2 back. Lent menu was small, a few fish fry options and only one burger on the menu. I ordered the cheeseburger with everything on it. Ketchup mustard onions lettuce tomato American cheese. Burger was large and favorful. In fact you can tell its a really good mix of 80/20 because it was dripping in juices. Fries were crispy and came with just the right amount (and a pleasant surprise of nacho cheese sauce). Burger was well worth the price of only $12 and 25 min drive. I will be back. Hard to get such a good burger with fries at this price. 8.8/10 I do recommend visiting. read more

Came on a Saturday night. There was about a 30 min wait. They have tables indoors as well as a patio. We ordered the pierogi lady pierogis appetizer, the Big G Burger, and Paprikash. The Pierogis came with 4 pierogies, sautéed onions, and some sour cream. The onions were sweet and perfect. The pierogis were very stuffed. The dough was a little thicker, but I think they have to since there was so much filling. Overall, a good pierogi. The Big G burger is massive. Overall a great burger. The bun was perfectly toasted. The toppings tasted fresh and didn't over take the burger. I would recommend this burger. Paprikash was a bit bland. I'm not sure if that's how Irish style is, but I've only had Hungarian style. Patrick's day) we were sat quickly and our orders taken not long after, I ordered the classic chicken tenders and fries where my friend ordered the fish & chips. She said "they are all I could have dreamed of" and "it healed something in my soul" I had a bit and can confirm it was tender, crispy and oh so delicious!! Same goes for my tenders! An unusual place, but the food was good. I had Chicken and Waffles and someone else had the Hangover Burger on an English Muffin with Bacon and A Sunnyside up egg. Both were great. We all decided to create our own burgers this night - and they were all delicious. (I got bacon on mine so I think mine was the best!) The side of fries is always a good idea here - so crispy and perfectly salted, I could eat a whole bucket of these fries!! My other friend got mashed potatoes and she said they were equally as tasty! The workers here are also so lovely and helpful even when the restaurant is very packed!! Been dying to try this restaurant Tavern for quite a few years and I finally got there today in one of Cleveland's worst snowstorms so the ride was a nailbiter to start with and I arrived at 1 o'clock in the parking lot, which is quite small for a restaurant of their size was full. Of course the snow did take up a couple spots and the street parking was taken up on Lorain and up the side street so I drove around for a little bit looking for some other street parking, but most of it was two hours only they need to do something about the parking lot for this restaurant. They're more than likely losing money just with this one item. So my colleague arrived and we got menus and I asked for Diet Cola no ice and since the fountain was to the left of me, I watched her put 3/4 of a glass of ice in glass and I mentioned to her I think I told you no ice didn't I? Oh yeah, I wasn't Thinking, really? And then when she brought me the Diet Cola with no ice, it wasn't diet cola it was sugar cola, and as a diabetic, I can't do that. We both ordered salads. He ordered the Cobb salad with no tomatoes, and I ordered the seasonal nut salad with no feta cheese. Both of them came with a chicken breast nicely cooked nicely sliced and nicely presented, but I only got one small container on the side of whatever dressing came with the salad and the salad was quite a large portion. I might add that the Cobb salad was also a nice portion. It came with two dressing cups on the side, but again the colleague had ordered it with no tomatoes, and there was a mountain of halved grape tomatoes and of course, I had to make mention cause I'm moving all the tomatoes to my salad which I didn't want either cause I don't eat tomatoes. It wasn't the pleasant experience I was so hoping for. I'll have to give them a second chance, but it's not gonna happen anytime soon. read more

this place is phenomenal! first off, the atmosphere is awesome. really feels like hometown USA in here. everything on the menu looked and sounded amazing. i caught myself looking at all the food coming out around me to different tables and wanting to order it all. we got a variety of different things to try and everything was awesome. the plain jane burger was so good and i can't wait to come back to try more of their famous burgers. we loved the fact that the burger came with a side of cheese sauce for the fries, it was an awesome Suprise. the fries and onion rings were AWESOME, great flavor and super crispy which I love. Definitely don't skip out on the onion rings and fries. I really want to try their other sides as well now! The stuffed cabbage was so yummy, the red sauce on top was so good that I asked for an additional side of it. They were stuffed to the max and laid on top of amazing garlic mashed potatoes. everything had such great flavor. the meatloaf was also super yummy, it came with gravy but honestly dipping it in ketchup was good for me. overall, this place is worth the hype! all the food was awesome and i can't wait to come back and try more from their menu. it was a bit of a hike for me, about 30/35 minutes but I would do the drive again in a heartbeat for sure! read more

The wife had stuffed cabbage over mashed tatters and she said it was AWESOME. I HAD THE Cobb salad and it was one of the best I have had. Lots of big pieces of bacon, egg, avocado and it was AWESOME.
