Nice to have a brunch spot that opens at 10 instead of 11 on Sunday. The brunch burger on an everything bagel was humongous, filling, and satisfying. The patty is huge so you'll be full for sure. I loved subbing in the chips for a fruit cup (it was full of fresh berries instead of the usual cantaloupe and grapes in cups). The only thing I was surprised to see was house black coffee was $5. It was just average coffee you get for free at a diner so I wasn't expecting the cost but at least it was free refills.

First time here and we will be back! We only went for drinks after dinner but the menu for food looked amazing! As well as the daily deals they have. We sat at the bar and the bartender helped right away and was able to provide recommendations. It was super packed too which we didn't expect! It wasn't loud though so you could still have a conversation.

I went to lunch yesterday at Char with my brothers and my sister-in-law around 2:30 PM and we were surprised to find that it was still brunch. My sister-in-law and I were craving more of a lunch, which is what we expected but we were all satisfied with our meals. They have brunch on Saturdays & Sundays from 10 AM - 3PM. My brother ordered the Brunch Board which was an assortment of different breakfast foods which we all picked from. I ordered the avocado toast which was very delicious. I liked how it came on a bagel and the goat cheese was a great touch to make it even more tasty. Our server was very kind and bubbly. She was also very attentive and helpful. I love the vibe of Char as well. It's very dark and rustic. It would be perfect for a unique meal if you are craving to try something new.

Always a great experience here. Great food options and best part is the drinks. Great atmosphere as well.

This place is a MUST go to. Number one the inside of the restaurant is amazingly decorated with fitting decor for the place. The lighting and wood aesthetic fits perfect. The service is so friendly and kind. SUPER fast I asked for a refill of a drink and instantly he came back with a new one. He was so helpful with what is good on the menu and what he recommends. The side of poutine was amazing everything was fresh and SO flavorful nothing tasted bad. The Char burger was amazing so flavorful and was dripping in flavor. So delicious and I am coming back to Char. If you are In the area or want a place to go eat Char is a must go to

Time after time, brunch, happy hour, dinner or late night cocktails, inside , at the bar or outside on the front patio...all of this adds up to fantastic service and dishes full of flavor. Where to begin, the cocktails are unique and Smokey with a little whimsy if you order a little waffle on the side! The scallops were cooked to perfection, the burger perfectly seasoned all worth the wait. If you prefer, brunch is always a good way to start at Char, Saturday and Sunday are open, just be sure to make a reservation unless you don't mind sitting at the bar. Either way it's a great experience. The yogurt bowl is always part of my brunch order, along with the special Benedict, lobster or crab, delicious. So make a reservation and enjoy.

Went here for the first time and absolutely loved it. They told us the were short staffed and we may experience a longer wait for food but we did not and the service was excellent. The wedge salad was my favorite and I recommend adding chicken. The berry salad was also very enjoyable.

We had a great dinner visit to Char! Our server was fantastic! Great drinks (cocktails & selection of liquors) and they even make mocktails for those who do not partake in libations. I thoroughly enjoyed my server's recommendation of a Blackberry Smash mocktail -- beautiful presentation and refreshing! The food was also quite good. The pomme frites with garlic aioli were addicting and the Char Wedge was huge! My husband loved the mango rice that came with his halibut and everyone enjoyed the short rib poutine. I would definitely come back!

Wow wow wow!! Made a reservation for 4 people but then needed to modify to 6 and they kindly accommodated our request. The hostess was a pleasure to deal with so we had a good start as soon as we came in. It was a little loud but I understand the March Madness craze. We ordered 4 apps - goat cheese, pineapple, guac, ahi poke, and buffalo cauliflower. The goat cheese was the best out of all of them!! Not a fan of pineapple in guac but it was pretty good and the ahi poke was good but could have used a little something (maybe more wasabi creama or sriracha aoili would have been nice). Not a fan of buffalo styled stuff so I'm biased on the cauliflower! Forgot to take photos but they have a great selection of apps I got the short rib mac and cheese and SO DELICIOUS. I also added in some of the leftover goat cheese and my world = rocked. Highly recommend this spot for dinner! Others got the char burger and a berry chicken salad and they loved. They enjoyed the chips and the rosemary truffle frites

    Very small piece of cornbread

Don't get the cornbread. $12 for the smallest piece. Pen in pic for reference. We used to frequent this place quite a bit, but portion sizes are smaller and they got rid of some of our favorite entrees. Whiskey prices are overpriced as well.

Service is quick, evenly spaced out appetite and entrees which is nice without being rushed. Having a reservation on a Saturday night is must. We came in ad s party of 4, thankfully we had reservations, the place was packed, the bar and restaurant were full. Once sat, our sever went over the cocktails and beer list, taking appetizer and shareable orders. Once the appetizers came out we put in for entrees and then dessert. Starting with the ceviche, incredible flavor with the tight touch of heat and citrus balance, almost made me wish I ordered 2 so I could have it as my entree as well. The chickpeas were perfectly seasoned with great texture. For our entrees we opted for the paperdale, house made, banh mi pork sandwich, a burger and the scallops. Everything was cooked perfectly, albeit the scallops were not so satisfying the mix of flavors were off for me, maybe it was the mushroom. We also had the white chocolate Jerry bread pudding, the perfect end to a meal, I'm a sucker for bread pudding.

Overall, though, it was a solid experience.

FOOD -- I ordered the Slow Braised Pork ($22) which includes sweet potato gnocchi, fennel, crispy sage, and apple cider glaze. This was a delicious and very hearty meal. I hardly eat pork so I'm glad that I enjoyed the dish. The sweet potato gnocchi was perfectly paired with the pork. Everything in the dish just blended well together. All my friends enjoyed their food too, from the meatballs, calamari, burger with fries, ratatouille, and more. I nibbled on a few of them and loved it especially the wagyu meatballs. The food was all full of flavour. Service was nice all afternoon as the server came to check on us a few times including refilling our water glasses. MINI GOLF -- Head downstairs to play some games. You pay a fee and are then given score sheets. A friend's friend had surprisingly paid for all of us and I had no idea until the next day (for some reason I thought the mini golf was included in the lunch cost...LOL). Each golf game has a different course with some being more challenging than others. I recommend Birdietown Mini Golf and Lounge for a fun day of mini golf plus lunch. We have 8-10 people so they just had us split into two, which was fine. The vibe was great, felt very upscale. My group mostly got mocktails. I felt like for just juice it was definitely over priced, because I felt like I was just drinking lemonade as we were playing mini golf. We only paid to play the upstairs holes, and it was good enough for us. We did not make a reservation for dinner which we regretted, but they were able to get us two tables in the downstairs area. Not a traditional seating, it was very comfy with one side being a booth and the otherwise having two comfy lounge chairs. I ordered the chicken sandwich, which was large and delicious. The chicken was well fried and the bread was so good. The fries were good, but the aioli was 12/10, so so so good! The food did take some time to come, but they were busy and were kind enough to find a spot for us. I told the staff it was someone birthday in our group and they brought a special birthday dessert which we al tried and it was great. Their menu is worth the price and the vibe is definitely jeans and a nice shirt, or a casual dress. Perfect for date night or a birthday dinner, and I look forward to coming back. The TLDR: staff was really nice, food was great, mocktails a little expensive, and the mini golf was super fun.

I was excited to stop in for a cocktail. We love finding quaint new places with an interesting appeal and from afar this certainly met those details. However, we stopped in this past Saturday, for my daughter's birthday celebration. I was super pumped to come back - ( see sentences above! ) Anyway, 4 of us walked in ( there would be a total of 6 ) and while yes it's small, not too small for a small party of 6. There was a couple at the bar and a girl who was drinking a mimosa in a robe so I think it's safe to assume she was getting a treatment from the spa. We had been inside about 10-15 minutes with no bar tender or staff to be seen. I saw the couple received their drinks but while we were taking pics, I never saw a staff member- so I asked them if there was anyone taking orders. He said yes, they were in other room. Still nobody coming out. Our other two members of our party arrived and we looked at menus and still no one. Finally, a girl comes out. Walks over, does not even say hello, and says: do you want drinks?!?! We put our orders in and 1 minute later she comes out and says, um this table is reserved ( or something close to that ) in 20 minutes and actually we will probably need both tables soooo.........so I guess that was our que to say never mind. I guess had they come out and taken our order when we first arrived it would have been fine, but we weren't looking to do shots with our full size drinks. No apologies or anything just like ok bye when we said we would go somewhere else. So here's my input: 1. Sacred Hour- do not advertise this space to the outside community if you can only accommodate your clients that are receiving services. 2. Train your staff. A hello, A greeting, something, anything. Not - "do you want drinks?!" That in itself was so distasteful. Not to mention the prices of drinks are not cheap. This is an upscale place ( or appears to be ) 3. Bottom line- we will not return. Quite honestly, I'm not sure if I would return back to this location for my spa services either. I think that people have forgotten how to be courteous and polite. People do not realize ( or maybe they do and just don't care ) that the reason they stay in business is because of their customers. Treating your customers with kindness is epic. You know the old saying - you get more bees with honey?!? Well, Tribu- maybe you should rethink this and add it to your training instead of coffee or tea!
