Pleasantly surprised. I didn't set my hopes too high on this one. I was just looking for a neighborhood spot to meet with friends. They seriously deliver. Good menu for a bar and the Hot Italian (I forget what they called it) sandwich was a win. Several different meats with banana peppers, olives and cheese was yummy. They had several beers on draft. I thoroughly enjoyed the Tangerine wheat. It was citrus forward without being too sweet or fruity. Pretty good selection of cocktails as well. Great prices. The place is not divey but understated with a raised couch/lounge up front. Bathrooms were clean. Staff was friendly and seasoned. Loved it! Oh. Pool table as well

The Chicken sandwich and waffle fries are delicious bar food. The bartenders were attentive and mixed a good drink.

Ordered the cauliflower wings with the Carolina bbq sauce and they were so good, I could have eaten two baskets of them.

Entirely self-service so you don't have to wait for bartenders (unless you're getting a cocktail) and you can try as little of a beer or as much as you want. Unique concept, I had a great time! If you're mentally 12 years old and easily bored like I am, the board games and swings will definitely keep you entertained. Not that you should go swinging like crazy, it's not a playground, but definitely whimsical and fun to not have to stay still! Cute decor and very relaxed vibe. Spoke to one of the owners and he was super nice and incredibly knowledgeable.

You bring the food or order from the list of shops nearby, or buy the munchies here. Load a card with $10, and in small glasses try the beers, wines and cocktails, and non-alcoholic beers on tap. Play pool or bring games to play. Certain nights have trivia, shuffle board tournaments, or board games. Jorden, the owner, is excited for this social concept. He saw a Tapster in Chicago's Lincoln Park, and wanted to bring it to CLE. I think this place is neat. Jorden talks about his place and the many plans for it. I attended a small company function here. We brought in pizza from next door, and tried the beers on tap. Lots of tables were available. Some people played pool. Lots of parking is in the rear. I knew I was going to love Sauced Taproom & Kitchen just from looking at the menu even before we…read moretried anything. There's such a wide variety of options that it was honestly hard to decide what to order. I ordered the Yum Yum Melt with a side of broccoli. It was just okay for me. The sandwich was a bit on the thinner side, didn't have many onions, and it seemed like it was missing the garlic aioli. There were also no yum yum pickles on the sandwich or on the side, which was disappointing. I wouldn't order that one again. My one son got the Curd Burger with a side of mac & cheese and really enjoyed it, especially the extra flavor from the hot honey pickles. My youngest ordered the Teriyaki Bowl (chicken, carrots, broccoli, mushrooms, caramelized onions, teriyaki sauce over seasoned rice) and absolutely loved it. My husband tried the Caprese Burger with a side of Cajun fries, which was another solid option and he enjoyed it very much, especially the Cajun fries which were full of flavor. He also tried two of the beers, he ordered the Wangies - a hazy double IPA and he tried the Sasquatch Sightings - Russian Imperial Stout. He said both were excellent. I was intrigued by the different pizzas on the menu, which I am excited to try next time, I love that you have the option of ordering by the slice so you can try different ones or a whole pizza. Our server, Nick, was great; very personable, friendly, and helpful with menu suggestions since it was our first visit. The atmosphere was great also. Overall, a great spot with a fun and diverse menu. Even though one dish missed the mark, we'll definitely be back to try more items!

I finally had an excuse to visit for a bookish bar crawl. I visited with a large group of book lovers. AMBIANCE: Urban brewery vibes with half brick exposed walls, wood furniture, wall of local beer plaques, and dim lighting. There is plenty of seating - a bar, high tops, and tables. On Saturday night the place was absolutely buzzing, lots of beer lovers! The space seemed equally tailored to the large groups, couples, and solo guests. My group was very comfortable despite us occupying the main space. FOOD/DRINKS: The taproom has a large selection of craft drafts, 49 to be exact! They are reasonably priced - $4-5. Some of the local brands are featured on the menu - Masthead, Bookhouse Brewing, Fat Head's, Southern Tier, and others. I wasn't in the beer mood during my visit, but my friend loved her beer choice. The menu is not limited to just beer, you can select cocktails, spirits, wine, mocktails, and more. There's something for everyone! The brewery has scratch kitchen. The menu has a lot of choices considering it's a brewery. Menu categories include pizza, salads, empanadas, wings, sandwiches, bowls, fries, desserts, kids menu, wraps, and brunch. There's a vegan section as well. Most of my bookish friends love that the menu featured pizzas by slice! I selected a bowl which seemed like a hearty fall day meal. My choice was Bourbon Chicken Bowl ($14.50). The dish was overwhelmingly spicy for my palette. My friend ordered a seasonal special (Seasonal Gnocchi Bowl) that was a lot more tasty and not spicy. SERVICE: Our group had only one waiter. The service was very impressive considering that he was serving everyone who was not seated at the bar. Every order was accurate, the service was fast, and he was super nice. For his sake, I wish for better staffing at this brewery. Everyone in my group enjoyed their experience and food! I would be back to try pizza! Oh, and beer of course!

Recently, I tried Dark Halo with the ISB Root Beer at the Winter Warmer. I'm hoping it becomes a seasonal flavor. I generally sit at the bar, the service is anyways great. The ambiance doesn't feel like your typical brewery. It's very bright inside but it has an open floor plan. I believe some nights they host trivia. During my most recent trip I tried the short ribs. My husband and son both ordered the Immigrant Son Smashburger and shared an order of zucchini fritters. The burgers were excellent and definitely the standout of the night. The fritters were crispy and a great side to split. My younger son tried the poutine, which he enjoyed, though we all agreed it leaned a bit on the salty side. I ordered the Chicken Paprikas Handheld. It was good, but different from what I expected. Instead of a traditional paprikash feel, it was more like shredded pulled chicken and did not include spaetzle as the menu description suggested. It was topped with smoked tomato aioli and house pickles. Interesting flavors, but not something I would order again. My husband sampled two beers; the Irish Dry Stout and the "Toast Moats" Stout and he really enjoyed both. The dining and bar areas are large with an open layout and both low and high-top tables and booths giving the space a lively but comfortable vibe. We visited during happy hour and sat in the bar section and appreciated the specials and pricing. Overall, a solid first visit with great burgers and beer. We'll definitely be back to try more.

The crowd ranges from busy to minimal and we received pretty good service both times. It can be kind of difficult because there are typically 10 of us so I think we typically have to wait a bit, but they do a pretty good job handling us. This place is very divey but still enjoyable. They have an assortment of vintage hanging lamps above the tables and that is my favorite detail. They have had some kind of music going on every time that we go, which I think would be fun if we weren't there for book club. I definitely want to come back here a time when I'm not discussing a book lol but the music is never too loud that we can't have a conversation. We are always here for happy hour and they have some great options. I always end up getting the $5 wine. They also make an excellent girl dinner with their house fries (basically Parmesan truffle fries) and chicken caesar salad. I have gotten this every time and I will continue to get it because it is perfect. I definitely suggest Wine Dive if you're looking for a fun easy place to go for happy hour!

A little elevated, but still a dive. They have a large wine list, including bottles, wine by the glass, and some draft wines. The place is pretty spacious. I believe it encompasses the old El Carnicero restaurant and another bar that must have been next door. Seems like that took down a wall to make a really big spot. They have two bars and a small stage for bands, etc. The real surprise was the food. We just got a few things to snack on and couldn't stop. The sweet chili fried cauliflower was absolutely delicious. Probably one of the best fried cauliflowers that I've had in a long time. It was super crunchy with just the right amount of sauce. It was not soggy at all. We also got the popcorn. I forgot what the seasoning on it was, but it was addictive. Last we got some truffle Parmesan fries. They came with two sauces, one was a spicy mayo and the other I can't remember. Both sauces were great to dip the fries in and the large Parmesan pieces were a delight. Definitely a cool place in Lakewood to host an event or see a show.

Around 5:45p the entire place was full. We were able to park in the back lot they share with a coffee shop next door. The lot is not huge so if it is busy you would likely have to park on the street. Eugene is name of the kitchen. They have a limited menu, but what they make is very good. We ordered at the window and took a number to our table. The service was quick and staff were friendly. While we water for food it was the perfect time to decide what we were going to drink. They were offering a hybrid cider/IPA made with Koji and in conjunction with Larder. It was so refreshing. I would definitely order it again. The space is rustic as described and spacious. There is a party room and patio. I am looking forward to visiting the BottleHouse in Cleveland Heights.

My…read morefriend and I visit our respective BottleHouse locations - she's a regular at the West Side location, I sometimes visit the East Side location. We just spontaneously attended book swap at Lakewood BottleHouse. It was my first visit to BottleHouse out West. AMBIANCE: The ambiance simultaneously caters to various guests. It's refreshing to see this at the brewery. There's a large wooden bar perfect for guys' nights. Secluded room with twinkling bottles descending from the ceiling that's ideal for celebrations. Enclosed patio for friends' get togethers. Large open space for groups and events. More dim area for intimate dates. I personally found the dim area to be too dim for my eyes. I love that one can go to this mead hall, and experience a different setting every single time. FOOD/DRINKS: BottleHouse Lakewood has a kitchen as opposed to the East Side's food partnerships/pop-ups. We didn't order food but the book swappers were raving about their fries. My friend and I were most interested in our BottleHouse favorite - mead. I tasted their sweeter meads before and loved them. I ordered Metropolis mead this time (highly recommended by the bartender). My mead was the color of bold red wine. Metropolis was described as a semi-dry black currant apple mead with spices (clove and allspice). This mead wasn't my favorite, it was too acidic, bitter, and bold. For the pour size it wasn't worth over $12. I more gravitate toward golden and light meads. While I won't be sipping on Metropolis again, I look forward to checking out other meads here. If you're also a mead fan, find the list of their four meads in red on the chalkboard at the bar. SERVICE: Service was amicable. Most service was self-initiated at the bar. Drinks and food can be ordered at the bar. Your servers will find you by the number you will be provided. I look forward to visiting this location to taste other meads. Unlike other nearby businesses, this spot is open on Sundays late into the evening. It makes it an ideal low key hangout spot for Sunday spent with friends in trendy Lakewood.
