STARS OF THE SHOW: 1. Burger Box -- The patties were perfectly cooked, the bun was fluffy and soft, and if you love tomatoes, I would absolutely recommend adding their fresh tomatoes to your burger! There was just the right ratio of their homemade sauce, which complemented the smokey cheddar very well. 2. Over Dressed Greens -- I truly did not expect this to be one of my favorites of the night! The salad is generously mixed with their homemade white French sauce, and you could really taste the freshness of the vegetables and produce. They pickle their zucchinis, which was such a pleasant surprise because it added a crunchy texture alongside the croutons and the pickled flavor truly elevated the entire salad! 3. Jammy Eggs -- Egg yolks were cooked to perfect consistency and I loved their take on an Asian-fusion style dish with their furikake seasoning, which also gave slight crunchy texture alongside their creamy sauce that gave a hint of spiciness. 4. Szalay's Sweet Corn -- The mix of the cacio e pepe and miso aioli worked really well as the sauce for the sweet corn and gave it a creamy and savory flavor with every bite! All the cocktails we tried were very special and delicious! Their ingredients list includes unique combinations that pleasantly work for the drink. My favorite drink was "Never Too Much" and I don't even like Hennessy like that haha -- it was such a refreshing drink and the peach and lemon flavors truly was perfect for the fall season. As for service, our waitress Tate was incredibly friendly and efficient and gave us complimentary dessert due to a slight water spill during the meal. Other reviews all describe the dishes in detail. I agree that the dishes were fantastic. What i found upsetting about the experience is that I've never ordered three starters, two veg and two mains.... and had them all arrive at table at the same time. If the kitchen just fires everything at once, the server should have the courtesy to let us know. Put starter orders in before taking the rest of the dinner. There was no opportunity to turn the table after we were done, so it's not like they were trying to rush us out. The experience was pure frustration. Shout out to Kindra ('with an i!') and Jack who were great ambassadors of the restaurant. As they described the dishes and how they were made! Came into town so stopped at Cordelia's on fourth Street. Interesting vibe on fourth Street with pedestrian traffic only. Had the box burger, which is a two patty Smashburger. I have been dying to get in here for the last 3 1/2 ish years, since I moved from the west coast! We always come up randomly and there are never any reservations, til today: 2 bar seats. Despite some of the frequent shortcomings of trendy, overpriced places (such as this one!), I did enjoy myself! The ambiance - loved the relaxed and confident vibe of this place. It was busy without seeming crowded. The space was spacious, well decorated, unique and made good use of space. The bathrooms downstairs were artsy and in good taste! Menu was kind of limited but I have a feeling they try new things all the time so it was exciting to pick from. Too bad they ran out of some things when we went. I ordered the fried chicken dish which was fried to perfection, well seasoned and paired interestingly with pickled veggies. The portion was tiny but on par with something I would expect in a place like this. I also ordered 2 oysters for $9 which were the tiniest oysters I've ever seen. Sure, they were good but I would not get them again. My girlfriend ordered a canned non-alcoholic drink for $6 (way too expensive for a soda!) and the brussell sprouts. They were good but there was only 4 of them! Our server gave off a "I'm too cool for this gig" and dismissed my order when I asked for the chicken. He recommended the lamb which uh, was almost 3x as expensive as the chicken and not something I wanted as a light late dinner after a show... My friend's SIL worked here so she was warm, welcoming and gave us a great seat. Visited Cordelia during a weeknight during a work trip to Cleveland. It is located on East 4th Street, which has a lot of restaurants and bars and is not far from Rocket Arena (basketball stadium). I went on a Tuesday evening with a colleague, which was pretty quiet, but I imagine it gets lively on weekends. We were able to walk right in without a reservation and grab seats at the bar. The restaurant is housed in an industrial-style building with exposed concrete, high ceilings, and plenty of open space. The bar area is fairly large, with around ten seats and enough room to comfortably have dinner. We started with drinks (wine and cocktails were around $15-$18) and one of the specials, a very flavorful, z'aatar-seasoned spreadable cheese served with grilled sourdough. It was a tasty starter and not too filling. For my main, I had the grilled kielbasa, which was served with a light salad on top. It was very tasty and filling, but still felt clean and balanced. My colleague ordered the beef n' noodles, which looked incredibly rich (cream sauce and lots of meat). They said it was very good but ultimately too heavy to finish. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience. A good number of tables and bar seats were filled, but it did not feel crowded. There was fun music playing and a great vibe. I always LOVE coming to Cordelia's and sitting at the bar for yummy cocktails and snacks! The bartenders are also always incredible and nice. I had the chips n salami small plate and it was INCREDIBLE! They were homemade salt and vinegar chips, with fatty salami with a pepper sauce, and little pepperoncinis. I never thought such a simple dish could have so much flavor. We also tried the "new skool" oysters which featured a carrot and cardamom minionette. The little pickled carrots with cardamom Essense somehow went so well with the oyster! Go get them while it's still on the menu! 11/10 for food, drinks, and vibes. I have heard a lot of good things about this place so I decided to check them out. The place gave out this hipster vibe. Their music they played was pretty eclectic. Our server was super helpful and nice. Their menu was somewhat small but meant to be shareable. I got peaches and cucumbers as my veggie dish. The peaches were so sweet. Nonetheless, I wished they removed the skin of the cucumbers. The skin was a bit rough.They drizzled the whole dish with nuoc cham. Nuoc cham is a Vietnamese dipping sauce using fish sauce. Their version was more of a salty side. According to the server, everything is locally sourced except of course their oysters. I actually got an order of oysters as well with new school and old school styles. Their oysters were small but incredibly fresh. They were from Nova Scotia, Canada. For main course, I got fried chicken and corned lamb. The fried chickens were not your typical grandma's fried chickens. The batter was beautiful seasoned with zatar. The fried chickens were so moist and tender. The batter was good but I wish it was a bitter softer. It felt a bit granules somehow. They added picked carrots and cauliflowers to the dish as well. The pickled veggies were not too sour. Additionally, I added some hot sauce to the fried chickens, and that was perfect. The corned lamb was super tender. You have to eat with the sauce. Midwest nice at its finest! Cordelia calls itself "Modern Grandma" and if you order the Bellie Up ($90/pp tasting menu) you will leave feeling like you just went to Grandma's house because she STUFFED you with SO MUCH good food. I was full for 3-4 hours AND into the next day (in which I consumed the leftovers). But seriously, Cordelia's food POV is incredible. This is midwest dining - where it's rooted in the comfort foods but fresh and unique. I felt this way about eating at Kasama in Chicago ....so logic follows the Michelin should come to CLE and star up Cordelia ha. Getting into the food, the tasting menu was basically FULL portions and such a good value - we enjoyed the following in sequential order: *carrot muhammara - hazelnut dukkah - their midwest take on muhammara SOO flavorful. *jammy eggs - spicy ajvar, furika - love a good jammy egg and theirs was perfect. with the ajvar (described to us as a Croatian red pepper situation) it was also perfect! I could eat many of these. *mushroom toast pimenton - focaccia, white harissa, pear, tarragon - HECK. these oyster mushrooms with these flavors was UMAMI central. It was so delightful. It was so perfectly balanced with what I'm going to call "apple gems." It was described to us as cooking apples way down to when the pectin breaks down then they're just like sweet lil' gems. Those pops were perfect against the savory, umami goodness. I've had a lot of toasts in my life and this might be the best. *over dressed greens - veg, cheese, croutons, white french - this salad is apparently inspired by Luigi's down in Akron, OH! White french is not something I've had before but I want it every day of my life please. This salad had pickled zucchini, radishes, etc. so even though it was HEFTY (mayo-based dressing with HELLA cheese), every bite was so interesting and I kept going back for more! *popcorn gnocchi bechamel, popped sorghum, lemon - I've never seen BARRELS of ricotta gnocchi like this but I loved it! It was a food coma on a plate though haha. I didn't mind the popped sorghum (as I've seen reviews giving mixed thoughts on this); I thought it was unique! Only at Cordelia with their midwest grandma would a dish like this exist in a way that makes perfect sense. *bone-in brussels pepperoni garlic conserva, piparra mayo, herbs - okay first, ha "bone-in" but it really was. Also, This is inspired by a PAPA JOHN'S PIZZA. These folks are MY PEOPLE. It was just fully deep fried so it was wonderful crispy and flavorful. Yum. You ain't never had brussels like these before! *burger box 1921 style, smoked cheddar, pickle, onion, our sauce - I feel like this is one of their signature dishes. They were cranking these bad boys out. Done smash burger style on Japanese milk bread rolls seasoned with everything bagel. KOOL AID PICKLES - yes you read that right and they were appropriately neon green as a result a la Chicago dog relish - loved it. We also ate this the next day - cold and it still slapped. *corned lamb - fermented mustard demi, allium - I don't like lamb usually. I find it gamey and I don't ever go out of my way to order it. But WOW, this take on a lamb shank done corned beef style was remarkable. I'm truly going to remember this dish for the rest of my life. *cauliflower - sweet potato, golden raisin, lemon radicchio, pecorino - this came with our lamb and by this time I was sooo full I feel like I could barely enjoy it BUT it was good the next day. *Bowl of Dirt - Miso-Dark Chocolate Brownie, Milk Chocolate Mousse, Whey Caramel, Gummy Worms, Dark Chocolate Shortbread Crumble, Sea Salt - Like dirt pudding but make it fancy!!! It's ruined me because I only ever want a bowl of dirt from Cordelia. The milk chocolate mousse was SOO luscious - almost like cold foam-esque but not cold. Everything about this dessert was SPECTACULAR. *Squash Pie - so this was served in a ramekin without a crust but WOW. I love how it leaned way more savory than sweet. I was in Cleveland visiting with my fellowship for a week long of learning experiences. The days were long and for some reason the food places we were visiting were very underwhelming. A cohort member and I linked up and decided to try Cordelia. We both had found it separately so knew instantly this needed to be the spot where we deviated from the group for one night. So happy we did. At the time the chef was named Top new chefs I believe. Nonetheless, we were greeted right away as we did not have a reservation. Staff were very kind, prompt and suggestive. We sat at the grill bar to reduce our wait time which is always fun. We explored the menu and got some small bites, the green bean salad (green beans weee seasonal so it was highly suggested) and a burger to split. The salad was our least favorite. It lacked flavor which our apps and burger did not. Other than that I'd definitely visit again when in Cleveland. Oh. I got a French 75 and it was DELICIOUS. The restaurant was larger than I thought with a downstairs. Interesting noise level and decor for the fine dining big I didn't mind it. Fantastic brunch food. Both Asian and mostly Mediterranean influences throughout traditional breakfast fare. The Dutch baby with mushroom and leek was absolutely overflowing with mushrooms so if you're not a fan of shiitake mushrooms it isn't for you. The Japanese milk bread was a delicious fried triangle with chantilly cream inside and real maple syrup on the side. The shining star was the carrot muhammara. Fantastically nutty, lightly sweet, excellent thick hummus like texture. The farmers cheese was fine. It was like a garlicky ricotta. I ordered the fish which didn't have a listed price on the menu and when the bill arrived, it cost $43 for a generic piece of fish with nothing special about it; I had to eat it with the cilantro and onion just so it would taste like something. My husband ordered the burger, which was just okay; it needed fries or something else to go with it. Dined at Cordelia for the first time. What went well: very friendly, attentive staff and lively, fun ambience. What went wrong: The drinks were expensive and most of the glass filled with ice. We tried 4 different cocktails and all fell flat. -The food is so greasy! Our fish was served in a pool of oil. The overdressed salad almost felt like a dare--a ridiculous amount of dressing. My coworker absolutely loves this place, and I hadn't been yet, so walking down around Public Square on a Sunday afternoon, why not? We went in towards the end of brunch service, no reservations, and got a seat outside in the sun where we could see bits of the air show. They were out of quite a few things by then, but again, end of service, so can't fault them too much! I had really wanted to try the chicken, though! We did a snack trio with the carrot muhumarra, farmers cheese, and the yogurt with granola. Call us silly, but that maple yogurt with blackberry compote was INCREDIBLE. I liked the carrot dip/spread, and you can't go wrong with cheese! I'm pretty sure it had some everything seasoning on it, too. We also had the peaches and creme Dutch Baby and, just wow. It had some savory seasonings on the peaches, sweet cream, and charred edges. It was also really big, so a great sharing dish with the appetizers. The cocktails were Strong! Came in as a party for 3 on a weekday night for dinner. We did a reservation just in case. We ended up sharing the carrot muhammara, farmers cheese, crispy chicken skins, green beans, and the burger box. The carrot muhammara and farmers cheese came together with bread. The bread had the perfect cripsy exterior and paired well with them. The carrot muhammara was savory and countered the sweet farmers cheese. We loved both. My friend's favorite was the carrot, but since I have sweet tooth, I preferred the farmers cheese. The crispy chicken skins were also a good starting appetizer to share. The green beans were refreshing, and I liked how the toppings, especially the croutin fries and the pepperoncini. The burger box was what brought me here in the first place. It had a good crunch with the crispy cheddar cheese--sharable that could easily be cut into 4 pieces. Everything was good quality, service was attentive and friendly. Parking available via street parking or valet. Ended up not trying valet, but will definitely consider next time since it's validated according to other Yelpers. Last time I was in Cleveland for a great meal was at the turn of the century when Lola was the talk of the town. But now it's Cordelia's turn. A Mediterranean tapas-type of small-plate place, you can order as you go. So we dived into the carrot muhammara and farmers cheese and gobbled up the jammy eggs. This was so good, we considered just getting more, but we had to try to pea toast and snap peas - so fresh and crispy and lightly sweet, we thought of just getting more of those before we got the fish of the day (Walleye from the Great Lakes - what else?) and it tasted like they pan fried a slab of delicious butter underneath a crispy skin of fish. Of course, we had to finish it off with dessert - my favorite was the Almond Joy - it looks like an ice cream sundae, but it was light and cool and coconutty. My vocabulary is insufficient to describe how delicious and creative the flavors are at Cordelia. If you're stopping by the Land of Cleves, Cordelia is a MUST TRY place, no question about it. I absolutely LOVE Cordelia. I've been quite a few times and have done Bellie Up 3 or 4 times, including this past weekend. If you haven't been and you're with a group of 4 to 6, Bellie Up is the way to go; they give you a ton of different dishes for the table to share. There's so much food that even the biggest eater will not go hungry! I'm a vegetarian and the other 5 in our party were not and I still have tons to eat. Food: I love their pantry snacks, especially the farmers cheese and pimento. Definitely make sure you get a few of those. I also love their tomato bread (if you go when tomatoes are in season), whatever pasta they have (the fat noodle one they have right now is extra good), and some tomato peach dish they gave us that I didn't see on the menu but could not get enough of. I'll add to the growing mountain of evidence that Cordelia is the best restaurant in town. I've gone several times now - probably about four times for dinner and two for brunch. I think that the dinner outshines the brunch, but both are fantastic. We have had the chance to try so many of the fantastic dishes - some of which are staples, like the carrot muhammara and the fried chicken - and some of which are rotating specials, such as the fat gnocchi, spring pea toast, and burrata. For brunch, the dimmy jeans are a revelation and for dessert, I love the butterscotch pudding and the bowl of dirt. Last year we got their Thanksgiving Fixins and its definitely the best Thanksgiving meal we've had in a long while - so easy to put together and everything reheated perfectly. The dill pickle dip was a standout. Cordelia's is also one of the best place to grab a drink and some snacks before a baseball game. The pantry snacks section of the menu has some of their best food, imo, and that plus one of their very high quality rotating cocktail or wine offerings is more filling than you'd assume. Finally, we consistently have exceptional service. I've had the server Hannah several times and she is especially good. After the guardians game, we wanted to get some food and drinks and we look this place up and saw that was the James beer award nominee restaurants we decided to check it out. Turns out that there were no reservations till 930 at night, but there was an open bar seating so we sat there and ordered a few drinks then another seat open so we decided to stay to eat. The bartender was super nice and very helpful and even guided us to try new drinks that we have not tried before and we love them. She also helped us order stuff off the menu and everything we had was delicious. We really enjoyed our time here. The place was decorated really cute and if we are ever in Cleveland again, we'll definitely make a reservation this time to make sure that we have a secured spot. I really enjoyed Cordelia. I visited on a busy Friday night and the service and food were spot on. We shared 5 of the appetizers to start and they were all delicious. The tray included some really good, fresh bread and really tasty crackers. We loved it all. We also shared the delicata squash, the cauliflower, and the popcorn gnocchi. The squash and cauliflower were beautiful and tasted fantastic, the popcorn on the gnocchi wasn't our favorite. The gnocchi itself was delicious but the popcorn was weird and didn't really add anything at all. The other food, drinks, and our wonderful server Sabrena more than made up for the popcorn. I'm not at all impressed with Cordelia. Cordelia is a trendy restaurant located on East 4th Street. It has nice ambiance and decor. While there is plenty of hype around this restaurant, my experiences weren't good. I first visited in August 2024. My friend (fellow Elite Yelper) had dinner at the bar. We ordered an assortment of pantry snacks and relish trays. There was a special for ordering multiples so it wasn't a bad deal. The food was unpleasant, every single dish - not well balanced, too many clashing spices or too dry. I wouldn't order anything I ordered again. There was not one dish that was tasty. The best way to describe service is snotty. Our bill was split wrong and we experienced awkward waits. I did not at all feel welcome. It's a shame because my friend was really excited to visit. Fast forward, I decided to give Cordelia another chance. I made a reservation on Resy for their event - Thini Thai X TMP X Cordelia. It was a special evening with Thai food. I had to cancel a reservation a day in advance. Resy reservation allowed me to cancel. However, I was presented with the statement indicating that I will be charged $25 cancellation fee. I called Cordelia to find out what this cancellation fee is for. Their automatic recording referred to needing to email them, which seemed convenient for the business but like too many hoops for the customer. I left a voicemail for the restaurant. It has been a week and unfortunately no one contacted me. I haven't experienced an upscale restaurant never returning a call. I didn't end up being charged a fee but the message was misleading and the service disappointing. If you wish to try their restaurant, check out their Instagram for special events and new collaborations. Based on these two experiences, I will not be returning. There is unfortunately no "customer first" mindset here. I hope that this restaurant eventually evolves into guest-centric dining experience. read more

Cordelia's was a solid, average restaurant. The ambiance is great, the menu is unique and intriguing, and the servers are friendly! However, I was initially let down when I was ready to order and then the server informed me what they were out of. She did explain the menu when I first sat down so it was weird that she felt to bring everything up after I already had made my decisions. Disappointingly, they were out of oysters at 8PM on a Wednesday. I noticed some other patrons next to me who also came for the oysters and upon hearing they were out, left right away. I informed my server that I had a dietary restriction and then placed my order. I received the tartare which did not follow my restrictions and the server promptly took it away. She kindly apologized for not bringing it up when I was asking questions and made my order. However, I think this could have been handled better, especially if I hadn't noticed or even for other customers who may have dug right in and possibly faced an allergic reaction. The jammy eggs were great! Very unique flavor pallet which I enjoyed. However, Kate's fish was not that tasty. The fish was very salty and the sauce was as well. The only complimenting flavors were the beans but the onions and jalapeños just felt like they didn't go together with such a salty fish dish. Next time, I'd just stick to the jammy eggs. read more

Great experience at Cordelia, where it wonderfully blurs the line between tasty restaurant and fun bar Music plays through the combined space giving it a lively vibe. The bar is large and has plentiful seating where food can also be ordered, with a great combo of local beers and creative cocktails and knowledgeable bartenders The food is tapas style 2-3 plates per person. Various options across starters, veggie, meat, and seafood. Personally I had the chips and coppa, sliced sausage, and walleye fish and it was all delicious. Highly recommend! read more

My friend and I were given great reviews about this place so we gathered our group of 15 and made a reservation. The largest table they had sat 12 and we could put 3 at a 4 too next to us. 3 of our guests were late so the table got taken but we made it all work. The dishes are served family style and are shareable so you can get a little taste of everything. We had some appetizers- the snack mix is so good! I wouldn't have ordered it but someone did and I was so happy they did! My favorite app was the pimento cheese and chili with crackers! It was nothing short of amazing! Both ends of our big table ordered more! There were a couple more apps but I'm not sure what all was on the table. Entrees- Pork Belly if I could give 100 s just for that I would! A bucket of fried chicken- chicken was so moist! A couple of beef dishes and the cauliflower- DELICIOUS! I think the other end of the table had additional dishes that never made it to my end of the table. The music is loud and I believe the beer options are minimal. But there's a full bar so I'm sure you can find something to drink (except iced tea, they only have that in the summertime) Most of us agreed it was the best food we had in Cleveland! We went to Cordelia for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary, knowing we were going to have great food. We loved learning that orders are meant to be shared, and everything comes out fresh from the kitchen when they're finished preparing it. We decided to be adventurous and do the Bellie Up - and couldn't have had a better experience. Although we didn't get to choose any of the meals in the courses, there wasn't a single dish we had that we didn't go back for a second bite. Everything was paired perfectly and tasted delicious. There were multiple things we had that we would've never ordered for ourselves, and some of those items we ended up absolutely loving! The staff are ridiculously knowledgeable about the food and drink options, and we got to box up everything we didn't eat to take home. We will absolutely be back to celebrate our special moments. We loved everything about Cordelia for brunch. We had reservations (which I highly recommend -- the place filled up as soon as the doors opened!) on a Sunday morning. The space is aesthetically pleasing and definitely hip, from the 90s hip hop playing to the funky decor. The menu both has traditional brunch elements (sweet and savory) but is also inventive. We shared a Dutch baby and the midwestern omelette and split an egg sandwich special, which were all so flavorful and filling. Great service, great atmosphere, great food -- can't wait to go back. read more
