I discovered REBOL via Google Maps after searching "Southern food Cleveland" for Southern food restaurants with vegetarian options. The restaurant was 0.30 miles away from my hotel, which made it the perfect stop during my morning walk before checking out of the hotel. This restaurant happens to be situated within Public Square. I stopped in to see what was offered, hoping that I could find something vegetarian-friendly. It took me a while to look through the menu, and the employee even offered to make alterations to the featured items after my mention of being vegetarian. Other than the smoothies, the one item on the menu that caught my eye was the Greek Freak, which is what I ordered. Very intriguing decoration which I admired while my order was being prepared. The designs and features I enjoyed were the back wall featuring a geometric design highlighted by vibrant green moss triangles and the signature REBoL vertical text signage off to the left side of the restaurant. There was also distinctive geometric grid pattern crafted from wooden dowels running across the ceiling structure, which was hard to ignore. The wall graphic located in the background off to the right side of the counter depicted an illustrated portrait of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, positioned next to his famous quote, "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." I learned that the quote was originally from the Whole Earth Catalog and was popularized by Steve Jobs during his 2005 Stanford University commencement address. The mural also featured a stylized, colorful pop-art illustration of Jobs alongside other notable cultural figures. The dining area had clean, polished concrete flooring. The seating featured high-top wooden tables paired with matte black metal bar stools. Once my order was ready, I spoke with the employee about the decorations and some of the cookies he was about to label. I mentioned my interest in possibly purchasing one during my next trip to Cleveland, which will likely be in a couple of months to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Okay, I loved the presentation of the "Greek Freak," which was served on a brioche bun and literally had egg bursting out of it. Other visual toppings were cucumber, red onion, and goat cheese crema. I did enjoy the sandwich, but next time I would likely put the goat cheese crema on the side or likely do without it. If you are undecided on what to order at this restaurant and are vegetarian, I do recommend it or possibly some of their smoothies. Because I had a great ordering experience, I would definitely order from REBOL again--whether for Uber Eats delivery or takeout--whenever I visit Cleveland. Rebol came in clutch when I was in Cleveland for a weeklong engagement and getting tired of the convention center food. It was walking distance from the convention center, so it was quite easy for me to try out this place during my lunch. The menu online looked interesting and healthy-ish, so I decided to try it out. I went for the chimi chicken bowl, and found it to be very flavorful. It was a great mix of protein, carbs, and veggies, and I really enjoyed the chimichurri sauce in the bowl. I actually could've done without the wonton chips, but I'm glad I gave it a try. The store was fairly busy when I arrived around 11:40 but I got my bowl within 10 minutes. I liked that there were some outdoor tables where I could sit and enjoy my meal while people watching in the public square. I was tempted to return later in the week to try their breakfast. I will start with the bone broth because I ordered it three times during the week that I stayed downtown, and all three times it was absolutely phenomenal. The broth is self had an anxiousness and body that just warmed up your soul. I cannot recommend the bone broth enough. The cookies and brownies were absolutely fantastic, gluten-free, which I love. They did not disappoint, one of the best brownies I've had in a very long time and very much guilt free. I didn't love the customer service interaction, ordered on screen twice and face-to-face once. Maybe I caught them on a certain day, but service was very matter fact, and not overly friendly or welcoming. The location was awesome as it's very close to a bunch of tourist walking destinations and inside was clean and inviting. The actual bowl looked fantastic, was pretty, looked exceptionally healthy, and "bowled" (plated?) well. Unfortunately, the food to me was just bland. The steak looked great, but it wasn't that flavorful. The rice that was soaked in the steak's juice was ok, but the non-soaked rice was meh. I was expecting elevated and healthier chipotle, but I feel like Rebol was all optics and no substance. I'm picky when it comes to properly prepared proteins, and both the shrimp and steak were cooked to perfection. I appreciate the option to build my own bowl, giving me plenty of choices to customize my meal. I also tried a cup of broth; it was nice and hot, but a bit on the salty side. It would be even better with a little less salt, though I did enjoy the option to add toppings like green onions, chicken, and sprouts to enhance the flavor. Wow I was so happy I stopped by here. I was staying at a nearby hotel for work and wanted something filling for breakfast. I walked in and they took my order right away. I got it to go, but they had plenty of seating available indoors and outdoors. It can be hard to find a good healthy breakfast sometimes, so this place looked perfect. I got the breakfast bowl and chose not to add any other protein, because the eggs were enough for me. I really enjoyed it and it was the perfect way to fuel for the day. I specifically said no seasoning on my food because I have high blood pressure and would u know they still put the bs on my foood. Especially the grilled shrimp. I stopped into Rebol a few times while staying nearby for business. I read the reviews on Yelp and gave them a try. Rebol is located near a park and they have lots of outdoor seating for you to enjoy your meal. The interior is nice with some tables for dine in service. I ordered my meal through a automated kiosk. They have a few at the front of the restaurant by the counter however you don't have to order through the kiosk as an employee will also place your order if you wish. I got the Vegan bowl. I omitted a few items which you can do pretty easily on the screen and placed my order. Each time I've been the service is quick and I usually wait about 5-7 minutes for my order to be ready. I always enjoy the interior of the restaurant as the walls have really cool quotes and it's so inviting. The Vegan bowl is tasty. I enjoyed the fresh ingredients and the falafel is really crisp with a soft interior. The hummus is quite good although not as flavorful as I like. However the rest of the bowl was very good. The food here is really good. I don't typically go for restaurants that claim to be on the healthy side while I'm traveling, but their menu looked promising. I had both breakfast and lunch from Rebol. For breakfast I had the Wakin' Bacon and chocolate chip cookie. I didn't like the sauce on the breakfast sandwich, but the rest of it was very good. Especially the bun. I thought the cookie would be soft, but it's on the hard side. It was a good cookie and you can even see the sea salt. I preferred the meal I had for lunch, it was so good! I had the BYO bol (steak, cashew chimichurri, rice/sweet potatoes, broccoli sprouts, and scallions) and the coconut crisps. It was the perfect meal packed with texture. I really loved the coconut crisps and wasn't expecting them to be so tasty, though they were a little oily. The bol was filling and had a lot of flavor. Unfortunately, the speed of the service is not reflected in the name of the drink. We waited 30 minutes for the drink. Located right in the middle of downtown Cleveland, this is a great little spot to stop by! The outdoor seating overlooks Public Square and is a great place to people watch when it's nice out. I came once for lunch with friends when I got the vegan bowl. It was a little on the pricier side but they are generous with their toppings; they give big scoops of hummus and guac. The pickled veggies were a bit overwhelming in flavor and I couldn't finish all of them, but they add to the flavor profile and gave the bowl a nice kick. not a bad spot for Cleveland. However, not where I would go if I wasn't in Cleveland. I think that this location does not deliver on the excellence that is found at Townhall. If the food could be elevated to be closer to that which you eat Townhall, it would be a great place to go for lunch. In the meantime, it's a fine fast casual option in Cleveland that has everything from poke bowls to bone broth and does it better than many of the other places around.watch out for all the homeless people, though that doesn't make it a really fun experience to go visit. read more
