Based on half a dozen visits. This place is in the arcade street side on Superior avenue. This location like others has really good coffee in bags that they can grind for you and often offer to do so. They are focused on providing quality coffee and paying farmers fair prices based on what I have read. The poor overs are good as well as drip. People I was with had espresso based coffee drinks and said they were good. The staff have always been friendly. The pastries have all been good and taste home baked. The location is smaller but quaint and in the old arcade and has a nice vibe. I am a big fan of the atmosphere and love sitting at one of the tables and relaxing in the morning, usually after a night out during one of my visits ( I am originally from the area but live a few hours away now). Such a cute coffee shop and I'm so glad this was conveniently located at the hotel we were staying at! I had their cappuccino with almond milk and it was perfect. Loved that it was well balanced and soothing for my soul. They also had other wonderful-sounding lattes with lavender or matcha which I didn't get to try. Their spinach and cheese croissants were awesome as well. They weren't able to warm it up in their shop so I had to heat it at the hotel lobby's microwave upstairs. What a cute little cafe! I loved it! All female crew behind the counter with bright smiles. It's uniquely located downstairs of The Arcade building! My family went on a Sunday morning and the line was long, but customers dedicated. It's a good sign when people are willing to wait for coffee. It's always nice to visit a Rising Star. Rising Star has several locations around Cleveland that give you such a sense of "home" when you see them. In my opinion, this is definitely on of their more unique locations (more on that below). I agree with all the others, this is some of the best coffee in Cleveland, if not the best! We are so lucky to have Rising Star and its delicious, authentic coffee. This location is definitely different than the others. Its inside The Arcade, accessible from Euclid or Superior. This one just has a small seating area compared to its counterparts. It strikes me more as a transient location--a place for more grab-and-go coffee because its adjacent to so many hotels and a little bit of an odd location. That doesn't make it bad, just different, so I'd probably choose a different lovely Rising Star to sit and work for a while (not during the pandemic). For drink orders, I'm admittedly not a big coffee drinker, but I love their speciality, seasonal and tea selections. Rising Star has a fabulous matcha and a current seasonal Star Tea that's an AMAZING blend of multiple fragrant herbal teas. I also love their Lavender Latte. Don't be shy to ask the staff for suggestions, they are always super friendly and very happy to help! You can always count on Rising Star! read more

Early Sunday morning, was trying to find an open coffee place that wasn't your normal chain. Tucked away at the northwest corner of The Arcade, this modest shop has a small line as they were only allowing two people at a time inside. Decided on the "Cardamom Bomb" ($4.50) - a combination of espresso, cardamom, brown sugar and steamed milk. Wanted to get skim milk in the coffee, but for some reason they only had whole, almond, or oat (opted for the whole). Drink is ready after about an 8 minute wait, which I was able to enjoy at one of the public tables in the mall. Fine flavor in the coffee; thick texture with the whole milk and cardamom, so best to sip leisurely. They do have some pastries, bread options for food, but mostly focusing on the drink options. Would try something more basic if visiting again. read more

I was surprised to find this little gem of a coffeeshop nestled in the corner of the Arcade. The vibe inside is downtown hip with eclectic furnishings. And the coffee delivered on expectations. Smooth, rich, and satisfying. I got the mocha and it wasn't overly sweet; the full-body espresso shone through. This would be a fun place to work when downtown. I wish they offered multiple sizes for their mochas, but the medium (12oz) was satisfying. They also offer flavored milk in a little fridge case. The gentleman working there was very friendly and engaging. He apologized that their espresso machine was temporarily broken but I told him it was OK because all I wanted was an iced coffee. My iced coffee was delicious and I sat and enjoyed it in the quaint little seating area inside the shop. The shop itself is very tiny with one couch, one chair, and a high top table with two chairs.
